Two minutes later, Elruda had finished her eighth lap. By now, she felt very tired from all the swimming done and realizing that there was still seven more laps to go did not make her at all feel better. Hopefully, she would be able to get enough time to clean her clothes later.

Realizing she was too tired to begin her ninth lap, Elruda rested for a bit and stayed floating in the water. To stop herself from only contemplating how tired she was, Elruda simply stared at the sky and 'studied' how free the birds seem to be. Now, why couldn't she be as well...? How fortunate they are... Elruda thought crossly to herself.

After the break, Elruda felt that she was ready to try her ninth lap once more. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes before diving back down the murky water. With a kick, Elruda prepared to renew her efforts again.

However, it didn't all end too well as she was forced to break to the surface after accidentally inhaling the water. Elruda coughed, trying to rid the filthy water from her system. A little later, after she was sure the water was gone, Elruda climbed up and sat on the banks for another break.

With her breath steadied and her muscles more relaxed, Elruda was ready to try swimming her ninth lap again. Beginning from now, it appeared that she is having much more troubles from the fatigue of the earlier laps. Hopefully, she would last for another round or two before taking yet another break.

Due to all her previous failures, Elruda was very happy when she completed her ninth lap. Right now, there were only six to go. If she pushed herself harder, Elruda was almost certain that sure could last for another round or two before having to rest.

But it appeared that fate would not allow her to complete the tenth lap before a break. So Elruda remained in the water and rested while floating for a bit, to regain some energy for the remainder of the assignment. She hoped that if there ever was a need to swim in the near future, it would be in a cleaner facility.

After the break, Elruda attempted her tenth lap once more. She did her best to focus on the assignment but as of now, it was really beginning to annoy her, having to swim in this...ditch... Once again, the girl did her best to shake her irritation off and continue with the assignment.

After the tenth lap, Elruda wondered if she could even possibly complete another lap or so. By now, swimming was becoming really tiring and her tenth lap had taken longer than her previous ones to complete. Reassuring herself to keep trying should she fail, Elruda began her eleventh lap.

It was rare for a Hyuuga to be enthusiastic about anything but Elruda sure was with her mind set on completing the assignment. She had finished her eleventh lap and thankfully there were only four more to go. Hopefully by the end of this assignment, she would still have enough energy for the activities that was sure to come later on in the day.

Elruda had failed to complete her twelfth lap. In fact, she wasn't even able to start it. Feeling a bit daunted, Elruda took a short break, floating in the water and observing the puffy white clouds in the sky. For a moment, she pretended that she was a beaver...lazily resting on the water while observing the surrounding world.

This always happens. Elruda thought crossly. When I am close to finishing an assignment. Did fate really hated her that much...? It's just your incompetence in strength... The small voice in her head remarked. Shut up. Elruda thought miserably, trying to quash the voice.

But she knew the small voice in her head was correct. Hell, Elruda perfectly understood herself how incompetent she was when it came down to brute strength. Well, the last assignment mostly certainly reinforced her conclusion... Deciding she had wasted enough time, Elruda resumed her swimming assignment.

Fortunately, this time around she was able to complete her twelfth lap. There were only three more to go and Elruda already couldn't wait to just get this assignment over with. As she had thought earlier in the weight lifting activity, Elruda was nearly entirely convinced that brute strength was not relevant for her.
