Mind-boggling stuff. Anyway, this little masterpiece came from a guy who has already come out and said that he hates pro-choicers as people: Quote: The problem with the "it's my body and I'll abort if I want, abort if I want to, aboooort if I want to...you would a-bort if it happened to you" thing is, it takes two people to have a kid.[...] Those pro-life boys really know how to treat women and their concerns. rolleyes

Another one from The Abortion Discussion: Kitzumie Abortion is a choice, yes we all know that. BUT unless it was rape. and even then its a human life! Look at a tiny baby, a helpless infant. Your killing it before it has its fisrt breath. If your going to spread your damn legs, take the responsibility. Damn whores. OR there is a little thing called a condom or even birth control. Jesus christ (im not christain but) its still wrong. Its the same as murder, but worse. It makes me so sad when young women are misogynists. sad Sometimes I think women hold women back more than men ever could. And, I just love how they think that condoms and the pill are just this ******** invention that nobody else has ever heard of or could possibly be smart enough to use! rolleyes

I wonder if any of these women who are against women have ever read anything about the feminist movement and how life was before it?

Oh, OF COURSE they have! rolleyes And they know that: A. The REAL feminist movement opposes the right to abortion because women really like having babies no matter what! Letting them choose to carry a pregnancy to term or not is MALE OPPRESSION! FIGHT THE POWER! REFUSE TO CHOOSE! B. The feminists are just a bunch of hairy godless dykes who are also somehow heterosexually promiscuous and like to eat babies for lunch. Anyway, this one has been pretty mean and goes to great lengths to ignore the fact that the thing wrapped around a fetus is a woman who may not want to be forced to give birth. Anyway, this comment hit below the belt. 3nlgma Someone. I think it was Lithia... Proof? FYI, I don't believe in your god. And if you did you would be a pro-lifer(Red left intact. She doesn't know how to use quotes.)

Damn. That would have been a good one! Where is that again? Is it on the Guttmacher page? All I did was tell her about pro-choice Christians, Catholics for a Free Choice, Religious Coaltion for Reproductive Choice... Then again, the post did specifiy that it was HER god. Anyway, we got another one: Milexanic You know what? I'm done. You all have fun killing babies just cause you got horny. I see ones like this a lot. They eihther come into the thread with this much hate, or they come in with this holier-than-thou "these poor, fickle, childish women! Let me help them out of their whorishness!" attitude. When they can't win they lose their tempers and any semblence of respect they had for women is gone. Sometimes I think that our arguing and debating and the smug attitude we sometimes have makes them hate women. But then I catch myself and realize that I'm thinking that it's our fault. Really, what we're doing is exposing the people who, deep down, hate women and want to control them. The same applies for the awesome pro-choice men in the debate threads, but I still have yet to see anyone call them murderers or sluts or criticize their sex lives. rolleyes EDIT: Late in that page, the guy's wife comes in to support him. I wonder how she feels about her husband insulting women on the internet. ...Looking at what she's posted, though....

Like that's a woman's only place in society..sickening. We're capable of so much more than that and these hateful people don't want to see us shine in any other way than as a slave to husband and children. I'm feelin' weepy.. crying And aye, the stats are on Guttmacher .

@The comments about the guy's wife defending her husband: Actually, in some Christian denominations especially super conservative ones, women are taught to obey their husband (despite how abusive or violent he might be) and otherwise would be a sin. I come from an area where this is common. PhaedraMcSpiffy And, I just love how they think that condoms and the pill are just this ******** invention that nobody else has ever heard of or could possibly be smart enough to use! rolleyes Actually, I went to a school where they never heard of such things. You'd be suprised (or not) about religious right areas and the lack of proper resources. We have a Planned Parenthood but it is rather hidden to prevent the average protest group from finding it.

*nods* I've heard of those places where they literally teach women to be subservient to men. It's pretty damn sad. I had an argument with a couple* on Facebook who kept insisting that traditional Christian marriage in which the wife is subject to the husband (in the SAME way that the husband is subject to Christ!) is a totally loving and egalitarian relationship. I said sure, it's like the relationship between a dog and its owner. It can be loving and happy, but it's not an equal partnership. The husband also said that I was only an atheist because I must have been abused because I didn't like being subject to anyone and I didn't "trust" men enough to let them rule over me. rolleyes Good times, those. *This tends to happen a lot. Person gets pissed off in debate, "leaves" the thread. Then their spouse comes in to take over. It's weird. Anyway... New one from that second-to-last person. 3nlgma Moonlight Silver 3nlgma The only time I would EVER agree to abortion was if Sanada Drake was the "fetus" other than that, I would rather the baby live. Good for you. Now apply that logic ONLY TO YOUR BODY, and we'll both be happy! no thanks, I'll do it if you go first. Which would be pretty soon considering your morals, if you have any that is. =/ 1. Doesn't make any sense, as Moonlight points out: Quote: You'll do what if I go first in what? I've already applied my morals to only my body. 2. Again, she assumes we have NO morals just because we don't share HER morals. 3. It's just pathetic to see all their "sanctitiy of life" rot go out the window when they're angry. -------------- Speaking of things that don't make sense... Have you seen the pro-lifers in threads trying to make us look like hypocrites recently? One of them keeps insisting rather seriously that we are taking away his freedom to oppress people when we tell him he can't force other people to live by his perosnal morals. Another one calls pro-choice feminists hypocrites because we want to fight eating disorders. Neither of these arguments makes any sense or has any relevance to the debate but they sure as hell act like they do! What can be done to combat this?

I get so annoyed with the argument pro lifers give...especially the ones that spout stupidity and misinformation. I like to go with facts, not emotions. Or the ones that insult you because you don't have the same beliefs as they do. The minute you say you're pro choice, they bash you, and make you appear to be this cold hearted, selfish person with no morals.
Uh, yes. We have morals. Sorry they are not the same as yours.
Or when they resort to insults. Like calling any pro choicer a moran, ******** idiot, or heartless b***h, or whatever is really going to help yourself. Not only does it make people like that look really desperate to win an argument, dealing with people who have nothing but insults to throw back on because they know they have nothing left, are a waste of time. You want me, or anyone else to respect your morals and you as a person, you better start respecting my morals and me as a person, because in that case, the whole "treat others how you would want to be treated" comes back. Treat me and my views with respect, and I will do the same for you. That doesn't mean we have to agree with eachother.
I also hate it when pro lifers use the same argument over and over again. For the emotional arguments, like that humans life never got a chance, or whatever, i say drop those, and once again, give me facts. Full scientific facts.
It's not that hard.

I actually did see this, and I just had to get away from the computer. Very, very rarely is something so stupid that it causes me to do this...

*nods* I've seen a lot of pro-lifers in ED who are "alt-choholics". But it seems pretty likely that the Facebook one was real because it had real profiles attached and it's very likely that a spouse would come by because you typically have friends and family as Facebook friends and news feeds show recent activity.

From the pro-life day of silence thread in ED: Dark Lord Drake Pro-choice does NOT fit anyone's morals anymore than the Holocaust fit all German's morals. If someone considers it cruel and unjust killing then it fits just as well. choice in their morality to an attempt to kill off an entire group of people due to prejudice?
I want to say I don't understand this reasoning, but.... Then I remember when I read PETA propaganda that said chicken farming was like the Holocaust. DX I thought that was perfectly valid at the time.
