You see, technically Espada are all three.
But looking at their recent backstories, I'd say Espada are Hollows who were more or less the way they are now when Aizen found them. He had to convince them to join him.

Sorry, I meant that Espada were the same when they were Hollows as when they were Arrancars. Aizen just basically helped them focus their power and contain it.

Kaddy agrees with Cheshy, but for Kaddy there are six groups:
Shinigami, Quincy, Vizards, Arrancar, Hollows, and Humans.
