"Ariados, Poison sting into the treetops! Get a circular motion going, jump on her back Poliwag and do the same with Ice Beam!" Poliwag, still fighting off the spreading burn with his naturally damp skin, jumped on top of Ariados's back as she began to spin around in a circle, firing her spray of needles 360 degrees into the trees like a gun turret. At nearly the same time, Poliwag wrapped his tail as best he could on one of the legs that grew from Ariado's back and began to charge his Ice Beam. Facing the opposite direction of Ariados's firing direction, Poliwag unleashed the frosty beam up into the tree tops as well. A spray of chilling white and venomous purple washed over the ghost pokemon still hiding in the canopy as they got blasted with poison filled needles and then by an arctic fury. All the while being battered by the swirling sand, through Poliwag and ariados also felt this punishment as they attacked. Leaves started to die as they took a healthy dose of toxins while the bark began to crystallize under the ice. It was a rather beautiful scene in Shiro's mind, but his thoughts were suddenly disrupted by a spinning blue ball that had entered the sand and jumped around, almost hitting Larvitar and then back in the direction it came from. "What the...a Phanphy?"

"Well you have gotten this far that must be good advice." Robin said with a smile before realizing how friendly she was being and looked away. "Thank you again for coming with me to get my Pokedex..." Looking over at Luffy she frowned somewhat at the berry stain all over his once clean fur. "You little monster, could you at least try to keep clean?" She growled at him before grabbing him off of her shoulder and did her best to rub his fur clean with her hands. "Gah you are impossible." She growled as she managed to get most of it off but in return her hands were now purple. "Great... Thanks a lot Luffy. Your probably going to go right back up into the trees and get dirty again aren't you." It wasn't a question. Luffy in turn just grinned at her and as soon as he was free jumped right back up into the tree's again to look for berries. Sometimes Robin swore he was just a walking black hole disguised as an Aipom.

Kilik laughed and shook his head. "It's no problem at all," he told her, "I need one myself." When he saw that her hands were stained, the boy stopped walking. "Here, just a second." He swung his backpack around, which caused Elekid to nearly fall off, and pulled out his white labcoat. Then, he pulled out a Pokeball from his belt and tossed it up. Ludicolo emerged from the Pokeball, panting. He was very tired from his battle with Rebecca's Murkrow. "Say, Ludicolo. Do you have enough energy to use Water Sport on my coat?" Kilik placed a hand on the large Pokemon, rubbing it slightly. He nodded weakly and closed his eyes. From his pores shot drops of pure water; nothing to taint it. He aimed directly at Kilik's coat, getting it soaked. "Thank you. Now rest until we get to Elm's lab, okay?" He recalled his Pokemon then shook the coat a bit.
"It's a bit of a crude way to wash your hands," he laughed, "But I guess it's better than having sticky berry juice all over your fingers." He held the dripping coat up to her.Elekid blinked. His trainer was really being nice! He'd never seen this side of Kilik before; it was always 'Win win win'. The plug rather liked the nicer version.

Watching Kilik with interest for a moment as he took off his coat and let out a tired looking Ludicolo. Watching with interest as he got the coat we she stared at it for a few moments as he handed it to her. "Oh no... I would get your coat dirty... Its white and that wouldn't come off." She couldn't believe this boy she had just meet was being so nice to her. There was no way that she would ruin his nice looking jacket with her dirty, and sticky, hands.
Luffy who had been watching from the tree's saw the cool looking pokemon get the jacket wet with the last of his strength. There was no way he would let such a cool pokemon use his energy for nothing! Jumping out of the trees and grabbing the coat with his tail and landed on Robin's shoulder. Grinning he washed his face off with the now dirty jacket and handed it to Robin.
"Luffy! You just got his jacket dirty!" She cried looking at her rude pokemon in horror, she was about to scold him some more but stopped when she saw the serious look on his face. "Oh... you didn't just do that to be rude." She paused looking down slightly before glancing over at Kilik and giving him a smile. "Thank you so much for letting us use your jacket." She said while she used the wet cloth to clean her hands. When she was done she looked down at the dirty clothes and frowned slightly. "Umm, I can wash this for you if you want. Are you sure you don't want to go to the Pokemon Center and get your Ludicolo healed? He didn't look to good..."

Okay, that was new, Gwen thought, mirroring Jaeshan's awed expression. It was a lot like Sonic Boom, but with a lot more kick to it. She glanced at her own butterfly Pokemon, wondering if a similar (or the very same) ability was locked away inside the creature's mind somewhere.
"Fight back, Clover!" she called out earnestly. "Give 'em your Gust attack!" This attack would at least be effective, and she was sure that unless Jaeshan whipped out a Hyper Potion or something like that, Butterfree had no way of recovering her health. Victory is within our grasp! she thought happily, clenching a fist together.
Clover, on the other hand, wasn't feeling so confident. She was finding it particularly hard to concentrate on her opponent, especially after the strange noise the Butterfree had emitted with her wings. Confusion continued to cling to her mind, clouding her vision and muddling her thoughts. This time she didn't blindly attack the nearest object in sight though; she mildly hovered in place, tilting her head from side to side as though contemplating a tricky riddle.

"Whew..." Jaeshan mumbled, relieved that the Beautifly had been unable to attack again. He knew it wouldn't last long though, confusion never did, although if it was your Pokemon afflicted with it, it could seem to go on forever. "Let's slow them down a little, Butterfree! Stun Spore! Go!"
Chattering excitedly, the butterfly flew forward, propelling herself upwards with her lovely wings. As she flapped them, a glittering, yellow-orange powder began to loose itself, floating down towards the still-confused Beautifly.
Hopefully this will turn the tides a bit, Jaeshan thought, smiling to himself. He'd forgotten how much he loved battling with Butterfree - it wasn't until one of your partners was down and out that you realized how important their contributions were to the team.

"Ack! Clover, you've got to do something!" Gwen cried, flailing her arms hysterically. Paralysis and confusion would not be a great combination, at least for her side. She looked up and spotted Jaeshan's sly grin, and narrowed her eyes at him defiantly. You don't have us beat yet, her gaze practically shouted at him. "Come on, Clover!"
Looking up, Clover caught sight of the Butterfree's rain of spores. As pretty as they were, she knew that coming into contact with them would be rather impeding. A look of clarity overcame the Pokemon's eyes, and she finally snapped out of it, twitching her mouth angrily at the thought of being taken advantage of. She too began to flap her wings at a very high speed, generating a cyclone of wind that caught the spores and sucked them into the center of the vortex.
"Nice use of Whirlwind, Clover!" Gwen cheered excitedly, but her happiness faded rather quickly. This was because the spores were soon flung out in all directions, causing the whole battlefield to be caught in a storm of sparkling, golden rain. "...Or not," the girl mumbled as the spores settled themselves onto Clover's body, and the Beautifly let out a muffled whimper as her body locked up and crashed to the ground with a loud thud.

At first, Jaeshan found himself to be a bit entranced by the golden rain that had started to float down onto the battlefield, but as realization hit, he took a few precautionary steps back to avoid being coated in the golden spores as well. It had been a good attempt to block the Stun Spore, but the aftereffects were just not worth it.
Butterfree let out a strangled cry of her own as she found herself a victim of her own powdery attack, and she struggled to maintain flight. By now, the sun's harsh rays had died down, and the usual coolness of the forest began to settle in once more. Butterfree's wings finally gave in to the paralysis, and she too fell to the earthy floor, looking up at the Beautifly who now lie about ten feet from her.
"Oh boy..." Jaeshan mumbled, scratching his head and frowning. Two paralyzed Pokemon? Now this would be interesting. "Try your Psybeam!" he called out to Butterfree, who tried as hard as she could to comply with her master's orders, but just found herself unable to.
"Free-eeh, she chattered miserably, an apologetic tone in her voice.

Kilik shook his head, taking his coat from her. He scrunched it up, letting the water drip from it until it was mostly dry. He tucked it back into his bag. "Don't worry about it," he laughed, "I can give it to my mom when I go back to Hoenn eventually. As for Ludicolo," Kilik scratched his cheek, "He's a pretty strong guy. I'll just use Elm's station when we get there." The boy reached over and patted Luffy on the head. "Your Aipom's got a lot of energy. I can't wait for it to level up more; it'll be very strong."
Elekid looked a little jealous that Kilik was complementing another trainer's Pokemon. He kind of huffed a bit then gave his trainer a light zap in the shoulder. Kilik winced slightly, then moved his hand to pet the plug. "Oh settle down. You know I can't wait for you to evolve into an Electabuzz. Then we'll show Mike just how strong you are!"

"Thank you Kilik. Luffy is going to be the strongest pokemon ever! After all he is named and takes after the strongest pirate ever!" Robin said a big grin on her face. Luffy upon hearing his trainers words and feeling her fighting spirit a determined look appeared on his face again. His trainer had a dream of being the best and it was his job to make that dream come to life. Looking over at the small little Elekid on Kilik's shoulder she gave him a smile and a quick pat on his back. "You are certainly going to be a strong pokemon as well."
However like all things Luffy's serious manor disappeared and with a large grin he jumped down onto the ground. Grabbing a stick with his tail he waved it around as his hands adjusted Hat, Kilik's pat had set it on the side slightly. That done he marched forward grin on his face as he lead there little expedition.

Gwen's heart sank a little when Jaeshan mentioned Psybeam - Butterfree had attacks that could be used from a range, while Beautifly didn't have such a luxury. Gust was one of those attacks, but it couldn't very well be used while the Pokemon was grounded. There was also Poison Sting, which carried over from when Clover was still a Wurmple, but was somewhat weak and Butterfree couldn't be poisoned now that she'd been paralyzed. There was also Solarbeam, but without Sunny Day to back it up, its charge time would most likely be the duo's downfall.
"Try Poison Sting!" she called out hopefully, once again crossing her fingers, but not behind her back this time. Clover struggled to a somewhat standing position, and glared weakly towards her opponent - the expression was more dopey than intimidating, for the paralysis made it terribly difficult to move. Clover raised her long, pointed mouth and aimed it BB-gun style at Butterfree before a burst of sharp, dark violet needles burst forth. Gwen clapped her hands together happily; glad her Pokemon had been able to get the attack to work.

((I think this is the most I've posted in months! 4laugh Except instead of months, I almost wrote moths. Lawl. Moths. )) Butterfree grunted audibly from the barrage of sharp needles striking her body, but she too managed to pull herself up to a standing position. She tried to wriggle her little arms in an attempt to loosen her body up some, but it didn't seem to help. Jaeshan could see the suffering on his Pokemon's face, and sighed. It could take a while for this battle to end, and he didn't want Butterfree to have to suffer longer than needed.
"Try Psybeam again," he nodded, hope in his voice. Unlike Gwen, his hands remained at his sides. That is, until he decided to stick the left one in his pants pocket. "Just do what you can, okay girl?" he said encouragingly, hoping the butterfly would understand that even if they didn't win the battle, he would still be proud of her anyway.
Taking a (heavily labored) breath, Butterfree cupped her hands together, causing a small, scintillating orb of multi-hued light to gather between them. A moment later, the rainbow-coloured Psybeam was blasted forward, and Butterfree twittered excitedly at her success.

((Sweetie, you need to sleep more. Lyk SRSLY.)) "No!" Gwen shrieked, her arms still flailing about her sides. "We CAN do this! We WILL do this! Clover! Use Solarbeam! Now! NOW!" The desperation and panic was quite noticeable in her voice by now, and she'd nearly begun pacing back and forth. Her gaze flickered back and forth between the Beautifly and the Butterfree as though the two butterfly Pokemon were engaged in a tennis match.
Clover inhaled wearily, trying to shrug off the stinging effects of the Psybeam she'd just taken. Her lowered defenses against Special Attacks didn't help at all, especially when that aspect of her statistics was fairly low to begin with. She too brought her hands together, and focused her concentration. A bright pinpoint-sized ball of light began to gather, and small particles of sunlight drifted downward, slowly causing the pinpoint to grow bigger and bigger. It was much, much slower than the Solarbeam that had been fired earlier, and Clover faltered noticeably as she tried to keep her focus on charging the attack.

((Gee, ya think? stare heart )) "Gwen..." Jaeshan started slowly, but stopped. It seemed clear that his opponent was on the verge of hysterics, and in some manner, he couldn't blame her. Everybody liked to win, and most trainers would do what it took to ensure their victory. But watching their two Pokemon in this condition was not only hard, but it was cruel too. Jaeshan's fingertips traced the outline of Butterfree's Pokeball, ready to recall her. Paralysis aside, she probably wouldn't survive being blasted by another SolarBeam (but that was if Clover could manage to pull it off at all).
"Maybe we should just call it a draw?" he suggested calmly, scratching his head again. "We could be here a long time, with them both being paralyzed and all. I think they both battled pretty well, no need to push them even further. The glowing ball of light between Clover's hands was unnerving, and finally Jaeshan held up Butterfree's Pokeball and recalled her. The tired butterfly looked up at her trainer gratefully before vanishing in a flash of red light. "Gwen?"

Kilik laughed slighty when he noticed the action being taken by Luffy. "With that kind of spirit, my dad would love to have a Pokemon like that," the boy chuckled to himself. It'd been a while since he last saw his father; the famous Pokemon Excavator. Joeseph (which was a strange spelling of Joseph, but pronounced the same) recently found himself in the Ruins of Alph, studying the Unown. Kilik was unsure if his dad was still there or not. Maybe on his way back to Goldenrod, he'd give him a call. Though, he did feel a bit...strange around his dad. Both Joeseph and Jonah (which was the name of Kilik's grandfather) were Pokemon Excavators. The problem lied in that the boy showed no interest in becoming an excavator or anything involving the study of fossils. All he cared about was battling and becoming the best he could be.
He snapped back to the real world, noticing that he had been daydreaming slightly. He looked up ahead on the path; there was a large cave on the left and a path that lead onward to the right. "Think we should go right?" he asked Robin with a laugh, "Unless New Bark town is through that cave there." Kilik pointed at it. Elekid smiled at being pat on the back, then glanced over at his trainer. Why was he being so...different around this female? Then again, maybe this is how all male humans acted around females. When he hatched, Kilik was very nice to the girl that was there. Were all males competitive too? Every time his trainer was around the boy named Mike, they always had to outdo each other. At least, from what he knew. Elekid decided to drop the subject from his mind and looked down at Aipom.
