Lady Kirahn looked at the children through narrow eyes. "Where are all of these people?" she asked them, almost as if she was having difficulty believing them.

"Most of the people I know are in the Borderlands," River told her, "but Elwin - well, Lord Elwin I really should say - he's in the Eastland, and Miyuki's family is in a different world." she looked over at Miyuki. "Hey, do you know anyone in the Southland that can heal people?"

Miyuki hummed at that and tried to think, "Uhm.... Auntie Elnara? Oh wait.. no.. she lives in Gaia... Ninako can heal, uhm... I don't know anyone else, but I didn't spend any time in the Healer's House there so I don't know anyone who isn't family."

And really, that was the main key Miyuki sort of realized. If the person was not related.

Lady Kirahn shook her head disbelievingly. "All right, I get the point. There are many more than I believed. But even so, I do want to add that even if we did have a magical healer, it is better not to rely on such things. If a body is magically healed, it might end up the same strength as before, but never stronger. If someone is healed naturally, they become the stronger for it. It's better than using magic."

River pursed her lips thoughtfully. She had never thought about it before, not that she would have even known about it if she did. And she had to admit, it did make sense.

Well that did make sense, Miyuki supposed. It probably had to go along with why feeling at least a bit sore after training was good for you.

"Oh... I see,"
she nodded after a moment or two of thinking about it.

"One thing that must be added about magical healing," Alassëa spoke up, joining the group once more, "is that when the healing is finished, the healed part returns to its original state - for example if it was a broken arm or something, the muscles would go back to the way it had been before, as weak as a child."

She tapped her staff against the inside of her foot. "I'm finished here. I'd like to rest, if no one minds."

Lady Kirahn smiled and nodded, taking the woman's arm gently. "Of course. Come."

"Bye," Miyuki waved at the healer and the guard before following Lady Kirahn, and her teacher back out.

They brought Alassëa back to her room (very quietly, as it seemed Iorlas had fallen asleep in the meantime) and the young woman promptly copied her, settling into her bed for a rest. Then the children had free time once again, though this time Lady Kirahn went with them everywhere.

River's favourite room was the library, which she jokingly said would have made her mother proud. The library was indeed quite large: a square room with two rows of bookshelves around all four walls, and in the center a long table and several chairs for reading. Also, in each of the four corners, there were piles of pillows where people could sit comfortably, and that was the part that River liked best.

Of course, Amalirahc was bored by the whole room (though he did admit that the pillows were comfortable to lay on while he waited for the others to finished their exploration of the library). But eventually it was time for them to return to their rooms to wash up for dinner, and so Lady Kirahn made sure that each of them made it safely back to their rooms.

By the time Miyuki was slipping back into the room, her parents were back up and getting ready to for dinner themselves.

Lin was smoothing out her feathers and her hair when Miyuki had come in. She smiled, seeing as Miyuki had spent so much time away from them, whatever she must have been up to must have been interesting.

"Welcome back," she called out.

"Did you have fun?" Earendil asked from where he was sitting on the bed, playing with Andarien. They were both dressed and ready to go, and Earendil was simply keeping the boy occupied so that Lin could prepare as well.

He smiled at Miyuki, curious to know what she had spent the afternoon doing. Andarien looked over and grinned when he saw his sister.

"Ki!" he exclaimed, crawling towards the edge of the bed and holding his arms out to her.

Miyuki blinked, if she had been younger (and a non-stage growing child) she might have forgotten the whole other incident because of all the other cool things that happened.

Okay, even she admitted, while she has a great respect for books, looking through a library was not the coolest thing that could have happened to her.

She walked over to Andarien and picked him up, which was hard for a ten year hold. She had to heft him up more than what her parents would have to do.

"It was interesting?"

Her mother gave her a look, "I only say that if something happened that involved injury or possible chaos."

Andarien giggled and hugged Miyuki tightly. "Ki ba'," he cooed happily.

Earendil chuckled at Andarien. "Yes, Miyuki's back," he agreed. He patted the bed for Miyuki to take a seat as well. "So what happened, Miyuki?" he asked her. "Something huge, I should imagine."

Miyuki set her little brother back on the bed before climbing it herself. It was a high bed after all, and even her mother had to climb it and she was much taller than Miyuki.

Sitting down beside her ada she looked up at him.

"Well....... We saw Ioreth wandering in the castle, actually Amalirahc saw her since we thought, River and I, thought that it was Iorlas. We weren't quite sure how he knew but I trust Amalirahc, but he was really scared and just wanted to go the other way, but it's a bad thing that someone is wandering around the castle that shouldn't right? So we told a guard, and he got us to come along because of course no one believes that Amalirahc can tell just like that. Did you know that Amalirahc has a gift that lets him see people's true selves? It's true! If we knew it was his gift everyone would have believed him right away, but Amalirahc didn't tell anyone because he thought people would think he's crazy for seeing things. I'm not sure why, because mommy has been talking about our family in the Eastland every once in a while, and everyone knows they see things differently."

It was obvious she was getting off on a tangent or maybe she was stalling.

While Miyuki rambled, Andarien crawled around on the bed, full of energy after his long nap. He wasn't too much of a distraction for Earendil though, and the man listened intently to Miyuki's explanation: the mention of Ioreth's name was enough to do that.

"So you told a guard about Ioreth," he said, bringing her back to her explanation, diverting her back from her tangent. "What happened?"

He felt a chill run though him. If she had done anything to the children, Iorlas's sister or no, she was going to pay.

Lin was already leaning against a wall listening to her little girl... well ramble. It was kind of like the way she tried to not directly answer her father's questions.

In some ways the likeness was startling.

Miyuki's ears twitched, she wasn't going to get away from that part was she?

"Well.... she got cornered in the courtyard and no one really believed Amalirahc, I really don't know why because he was shaking and really just wanted to go the other way. So I tried to look at her face because you said the eyes was an easy well to tell, except she wouldn't look at me. I think she was trying to pretend to be Iorlas but was doing a really bad job of it because you know Iorlas she would have freaked out being cornered and having guards around."

"Furball you're doing it again!" Senka was getting tired of Miyuki's long winded explanation, "She blinded the lot of us with a bright light and got away."

"Aww... I was getting to that part."

"Obviously not fast enough."

Fury swept over Earendil: fury at Ioreth for once again trying to hurt the children, fury that she could have gotten into the castle at all, that with all the guards around they hadn't been able to stop anything happening ...

"Didn't we tell you to stay away from her?" he asked Miyuki, fighting to keep his voice calm. "If you even suspected that it was Ioreth instead of Iorlas, why did you try to get closer?"

He didn't mean to make it sound like it was her fault, but to his knowledge those would be the only questions she would be able to answer - that, and he did want to remind her of her responsibilities.
