Ayame smelled the change in his mood more so than felt and shook her head lightly wapping him in the shoulder. "Don't get frustrated with me if the kage needs you for a large mission she'll give it to you. Other than that ask for something, and you're welcome." She sighed, "San and the kage were the whole reason we were sent to Saraswati and ya'll got there at the end of the mission. We didn't save every innocent and had to kill a lot of people to protect those that remained and this village. I am sorry that you aren't getting the missions you want just when you do be prepared. It's either them or you, which is why I tend to lean toward my bestial side when on a mission." She let Daichi lay his head in her lap and she looked down at him petting him fondly as if he was a life line, "I won't let those I love get hurt.....not again."

It’s just been real quiet around since you, knives and dad retook Saraswasti, I guess.” He slid down the wall to sit by Ayame and Daichi, and watched Knives and Kaori train a few feet away for a bit. “And I’m sure you all had to do a lot of killing to get the mission done, that’s just a reality of combat. Heck, when me and the other genin were doing evac, the people were slow, I ended up using raiton wolf golems to shock’em into moving faster, It isn’t the same, but it’s the closest I could come at the time.” After a minute, “Yea, I know it’s either them or me when things get serious, that’s why I’ve been training so hard to learn as much as I can so that when I’m thrown into combat, I’ll be able to hold my own, at the very least.”

She leaned her head back against the wall, "I know you can handle yourself if you're anything like your father and me, you did really well anyway. Quick thinking and everything, all of the genin did a nice job." Daichi leaned on Theodin and rumbled wanting to be petted.

Kaori caught the scroll and read over the instructions for the next stage and technique. She bit her lip and hummed softly as she tried to picture it mentally. She knew the back stance, so this couldn't be too much different right? She took her time and reread the intructions a few times until she was sure she had it memorized and nodded to herself before she put the scroll to the side and settled into the back stance first. Once she was settled she then drew her forward foot back towards her back foot and lifted the heel. But before she could properly straighten her back she accidentally moved her feet too much and toppled over, face bright red as Nova growled her version of a laugh at her partner. She scowled and glared at her feet for a moment, what kind of ninja was she to fall over her own feet? She just waited for Knives to laugh at her now, that would make her mortification complete really.

Theodin sat back and listened to what his mom was saying, a slight smile on his face, he was glad he’d gotten to train with her and get to know her and daichi better, even if it was only slightly. When Daichi leaned on him and rumbled to be pet, Theo laughed a bit and reached over to pet the big wolf as he read through more of his psychology book, focusing more on some of the abnormal stuff, and how thought patterns tend to change under stress. After a while, Theodin decided he wanted a change of scenery and decided to ask about some missions, so he put his book away and got up,and walked towards the door of the academy, to head over to the kazekage's office.

Kaori smiled softly at Knives and nodded before she picked herself up and dusted herself off, "You're right." She said as she bit her lip and looked at her feet, "I'll keep trying." It was all she could do really. She would do this right and make herself proud. And make Nova shut up her laughing. She mentally went through the instructions once more and nodded to herself as she took his hand and let him help her up, "Thank you. I'm going to get this right." She told him with a sweet little smile.
Once back on her feet and he'd released her hand, though it seemed to her like he had held on just a little longer than strictly necessary, not that she was going to complain, she moved a little away and settled back into the back stance. She once more pulled her leading foot back closer to the back foot, but this time she was careful to not overbalance herself or trip over her own feet again. This time she held steady and carefully lifted the heel of her front foot and straightened her back, "How's this look?" She asked him softly.

Knives looked over Kaori and placed his hand against her upper back and moved it down pushing slightly to straighten it some more before stopping at the small of her back, perhaps a bit further down than was necessary but sometimes subtlety wasn't his thing, hell when was it ever? "Looks good, give it a few more times to commit it to memory and we'll move on to the River flow."
He took a look over at Nova and chuckled to himself, she may get enough hassling from Daichi but Knives was gonna have some fun with the tiger, if only as a bit of retribution for the amount of laughter she was giving Kaori. It could wait but the gears in his head were already turning.

Kaori swore she could see a calculating look in Knives' eyes as he looked at her still laughing partner, though as long as he didn't hurt her, Kaori knew she'd probably be okay with Knives poking fun at her, payback and all that after all. She blushed at the feel of his hand so low on her back, but didn't comment on it, though she did shiver at the feel of his large hand running down her spine. She licked her lips and nodded before sge stood normally, then went back into the cat stance several times in succession so she could get it right.

"Alright good, good. Now the next step, if you recall the spin step.. actually I feel I forgot to do the spin step with you." he sighed at his own incompetence they had been at this awhile and he had just forgot is all.
"Alright we're gonna go two for one with this one," Knives pointed out before quickly going through the set up for a spin step, he did it a couple of times to Kaori to get the idea in her mind's eye before moving into the River flow. "So you saw the spin step, it basically sets up for improving the techniques of the style we're working with. Now the River flow takes that a step further and" before he finished his sentence he had spun and countered a dummy with a hard hit to the side that cracked the dummy "causes breakage of bones, or armor damage. It's also quick enough that it can slip through most attempts to pinch or catch it as well. Think you got it?" he asked moving his feet around in what appeared to be absentminded.

She then took a step back and nodded to herself, "So I use the River Flow technique after deflecting an attack with the Spin Spin step right?" She asked to be sure she had it right.

Aika was as always heard well before she was seen, the tinkling of bells sounding on each of her steps. She rounded the corner and was a bit smiley at the people that were active. "So this is where everyone is..." She said softly. It made sense as most of the more respected people in village tended to be near the young students and trying to teach them as much as they could. She stretched and found herself a comfy spot to relax for the moment. She hadnt exactly been idle since she got back, doing minor errands for various small businesses in suna but she hadnt been put into any operations in a while. She figured it would be time to update her arsenal now that she had some down time. She tried to think of what she could possibly add to her list of tricks.
