A woman - a human woman - walked straight out of a cluster of houses, to stand right before Kira, hands resting on her hips. Her hair was a fiery, blazing red, and although she was wearing only chain mail under armor at the moment, its gold luster seemed to enhance her vitality a great many times.

That said, Devvri was a dirty woman. In the literal sense - her face and skin was almost glowing, but a ring of skin around her eyes was a few shades lighter, hinting at the large amount of layers of dust, dirt or grime covering her body. The armor, on closer look, seemed to be dingy and unpolished as well. Hanging at the woman's side was an almost ultraviolet-colored, crystallized sword. Its hilt was silver and had a blue gem on its pommel.

The woman sounded tough, weary, and tired all at once when she spoke.

"Who are you? How did you descend from space?"

Although she might not realize it, Kira was in intermediate danger from arrows pointed at her from hidden locations. No one in the village would know anything of her 'Nova powers,' however, and knew not the extent of how that would protect Kira.

Devvri was still standing there, sword not drawn, waiting for an answer.

Except for the mainly human cities of light, the planet was basically a world plunged into medieval darkness.

Marth followed Jad--unwilling to not know the instant there was any trouble.

Ripples from a small warp hole could be seen off in the distance of space, the Atlantis and Ascendant Dragon just ahead. The portal tore open briefly, then immediately shut closed again after releasing one human-like figure into open space. AIAM just floated for a moment, still and lifeless. This particular unit was very obviously mechanical in appearance, unlike the extremely life-like Rosa. It's figure was exactly the same height and width of Rosa, although a bit differently proportioned. AIAM's "skin" was a bright silvery metal, it's body armor (similar to KOS-MOS in the first Xenosaga, only a bit more substantial) was mainly bronze (or at least, a metal that looked like bronze, anyway). AIAM's "hair" was a bright golden metal and cut exactly like Kira's, extremely short in the back and gradually became longer towards the front. This android had no eyes, either, instead, a long black band with a moving red sensor dot inside covered the area where her eyes should be. Kira thought it more efficient for this model have a more accurate sensor, the one flaw with Rosa was her out-dated sensor.

AIAM's sensor bar suddenly blinked to life again, and in an instant, the android literally launched herself towards the ships. The robot grabbed hold of the Atlantis's side, and pulled itself up to the roof of the gigantic ship. AIAM situated it's grip on the ship firmly, then began to contact the crew inside.

"Attention personnel of the starship Atlantis:
Unit Rosa from your crew has sent me to guard this ship during it's absence,
Rosa has not specified for how long that may be.
AIAM is my code name, number 2426. (2426 -"AIAM" on a number pad)
I am currently stationed outside the ship, and will board only on request by the captain.
That is all."

AIAM announced to the crew through her comm system, the whole ship probably heard it, though. Her voice was fairly realistic (though obviously robotic), a little deeper than Rosa's feminine voice. The android glanced down at the other ship next to the Atlantis, The Ascendant Dragon, but determined it a non-threat. However, the other large ship, The Jupiter, that one caught it's attention more.

Kira just examined the person for a moment from a distance, she wasn't in the slightest scared or intimidated at all by Devvri or any of the other villagers. Kira always seemed calm and kind, even her posture was gentle and confident. "I am Kira Rosalie of the Axion research division, born and grew up in Syberius." She started to answer after a long time of waiting. Kira was ever so serene as little wisps of blue and golden energies rose around her, it all solidified into a thin layer of blue energy around her body. A second skin. "...I came here using my ability to manipulate Novias, energy just like this layer here." An innocent little smile formed on her pale face, only her rosy cheeks and turquoise eyes stood out from the paleness. Kira enjoyed the company of others, even if she did not know them in the slightest.

"I came here with someone else...and she seemed to have been carried off by someone I do not know. I'm currently searching for her..."

Kira glanced down at the ground, uncertainty filled her expression. "Also, don't worry, I am not a threat to anyone here. I couldn't harm anyone even if I tried, I'm almost out of power, anyway." She explained, sensing the presences of people hidden to the naked eye. Another odd ability of her's, she almost always knew where you were. "As soon as Rosa arrives, I'll be on my way if you wish for me to leave..."

Devvri raised a critical eye for a moment, but then - her features lighting up like the moon - she gave a soft laugh. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice losing some of its bluntness, "but we had to be sure. I have a talisman here--that glows, and emits heat, whenever anyone lies to the wielder. You are welcome here, Kira of Axion."

Another knight - this one dressed clearly for battle in full armor, the silver metal surrounded by a billowing blue cape - stepped out of hidden shadows, from the eve of one building. He walked up to stand beside Devvri.

She grinned. "I told you, Keth. Not an enemy. But," she said, turning back to Kira, "who are you looking for? Keth and I are the only humans here--and anyone would have told us if they saw another. Like you, now."

Kira shook her head slightly, "No...she wasn't human. She was just like all of the other people here..." She explained, gesturing to the Eseptian(SP?) villagers. "Also, would you mind telling me which planet this is? I'm not familiar with the area. Everything here seems so....different from all the other planets. I'm used to more more high-tech civilizations..." Kira said, looking down at her lab uniform. Somehow, when you're dressed in a skin-tight black and white tank top, high heeled black boots, and white Capri pants, you tend to stick out in a world of medieval culture. "There wouldn't happen to be a public transportation space station around, would there?" She asked, though doubtful that there would be one. Oh well, Rosa would show up soon, wouldn't she?

Devvri couldn't have clamped her hand over Kira's mouth any quicker than if she'd actually been aware of her reflexes doing it for her. (Yeah... weird sentence.)

Anyway, Devvri's eyes were wide, and a bit fearful. "Shhh," she whispered, "not here. The natives aren't exactly... friendly, for our kind. Don't talk about futuristic things when they can hear. Yes, there are human cities. But the natives are desperately against-- one Eseptian?"

The former half of Kira's reply had been momentarily forgotten as Devvri became fearful of the natives' angry reproach to Kira's words. Keth stepped in.

"Who?" he asked, his voice echoing from his helm, stepping between the two women as Devvri was close to choking Kira. "There have been no new visitors here."

Kira thought for a moment, then finally replied. "I believe her name was Maggie? At least, that's what she called herself. I'm not certain if that's her actual name or not..." A dim blue glowing emanated from the tattoos on Kira's back, angel wing tattoos. The bluish Novias energy expanded, forming itself into Kira's wings again. She folded them around her body defensively when she sensed that the others were getting a bit angered. Kira's wings looked angelic and feathery, like real wings, but they were also see-through because of the energy they were made from. Kira had a look of determination on her face as the energy solidified a bit more, providing a more sturdy shield should anyone try anything. "I will leave when I can, but right now, I have to wait for my chance to leave. Any interference in my leave will not be tolerated. I try to act in peace and kindness, and I regret to fight, but I won't just lie down and take any attacks anyone may wish to inflict upon me." Kira said to no one in particular, anyone within earshot, apparently. It was weird...she almost had a growl in her voice, that was definitely not like Kira at all. She turned her attention back to Devvri and Keth temporarily, as if to say something, but then shrugged it off and started her way down the path. Cautious and aware of everyone around her, heightened senses showing her everything around her, in all directions. As if she had eyes in the back of her head, Kira could see all around herself in her mind. The Novias energy always seemed to do this to Kira, it acted as if it were a part of her.

Devvri hesitated, but followed Kira after some time. "Wait," she called out softly. "That's not--you don't understand. They won't hurt you--or at least, not while I'm here, they won't attempt to. But - this Maggie - she's an Eseptian? What did she look like? ...Why was she not here, on her home planet?"

Keth turned and walked away, seemingly to meld into the shadows again. His armor, too, was rather dingy and unpolished, and so he didn't reflect light except when very close, such as the ethereal projections that seemed to emanate from Kira, almost seeming to have a life of its own.

There was something else. A few - very dirty - natives began peering more curiously out of their holes, in examination of Kira. Most lived in thatched, mud-houses (adobe), and some featured small enclosures into the ground, underneath, an open basement of sorts, while others lived in stone tepees of a sort. Most Eseptians here were children. The only few adults were women--no male Eseptians were to be seen, besides the few Kira could somehow sense in the trees.

Eseptos - in this area - was mostly plains, but the village was built in the center of a lush stand of trees. It was tropical - at one point - but the trees were dead now. The entire planet... it was darkening. It was dying.

Kira stopped in her tracks, any hints of a temper that she had before had now vanished into oblivion, long forgotten by this forgiving soul. She started thinking, trying to remember as much as she could about Maggie. "Well, she looked just like everyone else here, her skin was kind of blueish, I can't remember much else that really stood out about her...but she also had this odd power, this being with her...I'm not certain what that entity was. I'm sorry, but I don't even really know much about her. I only just met Maggie in Nova..." Kira's voice was very soft-spoken, gentle. "I wish I knew more..."

Devvri had been reaching out a hand as she drew nearer, but stopped short and lowered it. "I see," she said, which would have sounded slightly bitter or disappointed, except that her tone was almost impossible to be perceived as anything but lighthearted and joyous, in any situation.

"Well, if you come to my... er, hut, I'll show you a map to the nearest human populace."

This stranger didn't need to be burdened with troubles. Kevvri felt adamant about not driving her away, but letting her go unhindered if she so chose to. It was, admittedly, very difficult not to pour out years' worth of hope and the heart's imagination on the first stranger who popped up. Strangers didn't pop up often... at all, really.

But this person wasn't interested. End of story. The... Eseptian, was admittedly strange, but that didn't matter.

"I'm Devvri, by the way. I'm sorry that I forgot to mention it earlier."

(("Kevvri"? Apparently I'm not the only one with typos tonight. xd ))

Kira smiled slightly, "Thank you for trying to help, Devvri, I truly appreciate it....but I'm sure I can find my way around..." Her wings started to fade back into mere energy now, now that she was sure that she was relatively safe. Kira's wing tattoos stopped glowing, and somehow....vanished from her pale skin. New tattoos started to illuminate themselves around her eyes, they looked like miniature grids or glyphs, all clustered together on Kira's face. She closed her eyes for a moment, adjusting the energy she was using. One minute Kira could only see the way most people and creatures normally do, but the next, images of places far ahead all flooded through her brain at once. Kira started getting a headache from the fast-paced flashing of images, she hadn't quite perfected this ability yet.

Kira felt physically weak, but yet strong at the same time. She felt like she would collapse any time, and yet there was this urge -this necessity she felt to start running and flying and just speeding ahead. Her body was slow, but her spirit was far ahead of it, out in the open fields, making it's way to her destination. But unfortunately, things just didn't work out well when you try to be in two places at once. Kira fell forward onto the ground, unconscious, but still very much awake. The tattoo grids on her face dimly pulsed with blue light, occasionally growing in brightness, then fading again to almost nothing. Almost like a heartbeat.

Astral Projection.

(( xp my brain is getting tired of thinking, so please try to ignore any typos or missing words in my posts -blame it on fatigue. ))

The door to Vexis' chamber slid open silently. light pouring in and the silhouette of a drone standing in the doorway.

"Enough games. You will go to the bridge immediately." It said plainly and simply, "We are updated of your position instantaneously by the ship. you cannot hide in here... And If you went through the wall, you were no doubt met with the resistance of the Bierium's bondings. The Bieruim shelding for interior walls is two inches. the exterior is three feet. Our rifles have been adjusted to cryo mode to freeze you, should you attempt to become gaseous again."

Vexis' eyes grew wide as the robot came into view, great, it found her. Again.

Vexis tried to escape the android in her mind, but each route and action she thought of all ended up in getting caught again. Could she dodge past it through the tiny bit of space left in the doorway? Maybe, but what if another android was out there? If she dematerialized again, could she manage to get away from it's shots just in time? Probably not. Things would be easier if Vexis had a map of this place to plan out various escape routes with. Where were the freaking maps!?!

Vexis gradually rose to her feet, hanging her head low. "...Fine, whatever. I give up..." She said, resigned. 'As soon as they drag me to the Bridge, I can make a move there, but it's risky...' Vexis already started mentally planning her next move, being sure to pay close attention to each room and hallway they would pass through.

Devvri knelt down--she was unfamiliar with magic of any sort. "Are you... well, Kira? Kira?"

It just so happened that the direction Kira was facing--it was in the opposite direction, behind them, that the nearest great city was.

Suddenly, there was much shouting from the other side of the small village. Soon, the dark sky lit up like a Christmas tree. From the trees sprang several young, lithe Eseptian males armed with toxic arrows and strange, curved swords that hugged their back, were dashing through the clearings, towards the other side of the village.

Keth was at Devvri's side immediately. "We need to go," he stated gruffly. "We're under attack, and we can't win. They've surrounded us. We need to move south, towards the next village. Closer... to the great city."

Devvri nodded solemnly. "But," she said, turning to the fallen Kira, "we can't leave her. She's... human."

Marth was waiting with Jad, wherever he was. Determined not to be left behind.
