Sibyl growled when the woman dodged her blow and continued to latch onto her older sister and act as some sort of leech. "What did," Sibyl asked as she shook with anger, "you say to her? What are you doing to her? Let her go!" It was clear that the whole scene was greatly upsetting Sibyl and the fact that her human emotions were there as well weren't really helping the situation of remaining calm happen instead of panicking and being angered. "Leave her alone, she doesn't need you leeching onto her like that and making her miserable. Leave her alone, just leave her alone!" Sibyl was already shouting, something she rarely did unless she was extremely terrified or extremely enraged and right now it was probably a combination of both since she felt hopeless and uncertain. Right before her big sister she'd been reduced to a fairly childish state of protectiveness and slight hopelessness since her sister was clearly not with them at the moment.

Instead of yelling at the woman, Sibyl tried to get to her sister instead of yelling at the woman that'd done this to her sister. "Olathe, it's me, it's Sibyl." Sibyl explained, her voice trembling though whether it was with sadness, fright or anger no one could really tell, not even Sibyl could. "We didn't abandon you, we made a mistake, Olathe. We all did, we all made a mistake and it cost you a lot. No, no I don't understand but I've seen your pain and you can't imagine how terrible it makes me feel to see you year after year suffering without me being able to help you."

Amanda shrugged slightly. Certainly things were fun now but getting carried away easily. "I suppose you need to talk with your sister." she whispered to the older girl, suffering was something she needed to grow before her father could harvest it... still... she wanted to rile things up more.

Twisting Olathe's head gently she kissed her. Something very warm passed from her lips and into the Lycan before she released her grip and slide off, making sure to stay out of Sibyl's immediate reach. "Give me a whistle sometime and we'll do this again." she said with a gently smile that reflected in her eyes before running down the pier. It was extremely strange that she could move so quickly in heels.

Jaden really didn't know how to react to this sort of thing. It was ridiculous. Sibyls family seemed almost as messed up as his.

Sibyl seriously almost lost her mind at the sight of Amanda kissing her sister and the girl was right to flee afterwards otherwise Sibyl almost certainly could have torn her to shreds and eaten her right there on the spot. She didn't know why this girl was wanting to torture her sister's already battered soul but she certainly wasn't going to sit there and watch as that girl harmed her sister before her eyes. She began to give chase, shifting into her wolven form to speed after her but the girl vanished within a few moments and there was seemingly no traces of her to follow after. Sibyl stopped and growled her threat to the woman and turned around to return to her sister and assure that her sister wasn't harmed though if she was it was probably more mentally than anything.

She knelt down in front of her sister, having reverted back to human form, gently clutching her shoulders and hugging her even though she could feel her sister staring blankly over her shoulder as though she also wished to chase after that woman. "Olathe ... I know dad screwed up and didn't protect you like he should have, I know he didn't listen to you when he should have but don't punish yourself for it ... What did that girl want with you and why did you let her do this to you? What would Valan say if he'd seen that? What do you think he would have done if he were in my position? I'm sure he would have known what to do ... he was always the one that knew what to do ..." Sibyl's voice was very soft, she sounded almost defeated somehow.

The lonely wolf actually gave into Amanda for a mere moment, kissing her back though the lonliness filled Amanda's place and turned her into Valan instead of that girl that'd approached her mere moments ago. Olathe showed her second sign of movement and it was when she finally noticed and registered the absence of Amanda and she began to tear though there were no sobs. "She's gone ..." she whispered softly to Sibyl. However, her voice began to rise and she soon became enraged, "She's gone! And it's your fault! How could you do this to me! Valan! Valan! Where are you? Where are you?" She then quieted down, not really responding to anything that Sibyl had said, she merely stared blankly over her little sister's shoulder, dropping her cellphone onto the dock. "Where's Valan?" She whispered it over and over again.

Sibyl just continued to embrace her sister for a few moments, not really knowing what to do from here. How was she going to convince her sister to snap back into reality and back to the person that she was just a few moments before. ~Damnit!~ She thought to herself, ~I was too late to be there for her again! Why can't I just ... Ugh! Olathe if you hear me in here, I'm hurting. You need to snap out of this, you need to! You have your kids you have to go home to, you can't return to them broken like this.~ "Olathe, listen to me. You have to snap out of this, that girl, whatever she told you, whatever she did to you, she's lying and she's not trying to help you. Please get up, you need to get up. You were supposed to be here to check up on things not to become saddened again. Please, Olathe." Sibyl was begging, not something she often resorted to in order to have someone fulfill a request she made to them.

She didn't know what else to do, what was there to do? It wasn't as if she could force her sister to be happy and be normal again. Her sister was the only one that could do that and so far the situation seemed a little less than hopeful in Sibyl's eyes seeing as in her sister's current state, she was babbling to herself and wasn't even listening to what Sibyl was saying to her. Her sister was lost inside herself again and Sibyl knew it and the only thing that'd brought her sister back before had been the fact that her children needed her. What was going to happen to her sister when her children were grown up and able to fend for themselves? Those were thoughts that Sibyl really couldn't handle right now. "What should," Sibyl whispered to herself, to Olathe, to Jaden, to anyone that was willing to listen to it or answer it, "I do?"

When prodded by Sibyl to stand up, Olathe mindlessly obeyed the command though no other commands were obeyed. The blank look remained in her now lavender eyes as the tangible lonliness cloaked her, hung before her and surrounded her completely. She decided that Valan was lost and she would merely have to search for him in order to find him. Perhaps someone would be able to tell her where he was ... someone ... anyone ... She needed someone to tell her where he was ... She spotted Jaden and walked over to him, gripping his shoulders weakly and staring blankly at his chest, "Where is Valan?" She whipsered softly to him, speaking into his chest though he would more than likely be able to hear what she'd said.

She then let go of Jaden and turned to face Sibyl, her expression still blank though her voice was no longer a whisper. "Your friend," she informed her sister randomly out of no where, "your friend in the park needs you ..." She seemed like she was going to go back into a trance after that but instead she fainted and began to fall forward.

Sibyl wasn't really sure whether to be relieved that her sister was out so that she couldn't hurt herself or whether she should be concerned that her sister would somehow turn even whackier when she awoke and came to her senses. "Jaden," Sibyl pleaded, "please stay here with my sister while I check up on things in the park. When she has weird premonitions like that she's usually accurate about what she's talking about but I don't want to leave her alone. I'll try to be back as soon as possible, please just stay with her until then." It was obvious that Sibyl was worried and she was fairly desperate to have her sister back to normal as well as she wanted to assure that people in the park were alright and with her plea, trusting that Jaden would stay with her sister, she sprinted off as fast as she possibly could.

A mild sense of panic set into Jaden at the thought of being left alone with the grief stricken Lycan but then it passed like a breeze. In his times of loss he had usually wanted someone to be with him, he might as well be the someone for another person. At the moment though all skills he had were rendered useless. All he could do was sit down next to the unconscious widow and look at the sky as he waited.

Truly he lead an interesting life.

Jaden took a moment to make sure that Olathe was still breathing before looking back up at the waning moon. He really could relate to the despair that she felt, losing ones mate was a crushing experience that few could recover from, he knew their were Lycans that even died from grief, perhaps they were the fortunate ones. Living on was something you never became used to, part of your heart would forever remain bound to the one you lost.

The moon was beautiful tonight.... it looked almost exactly like it had on that night... but it was larger... and it had been raining... in a forest...

***

The wolf held Jade gently in his arms as tears streamed down his face, invisible in the pouring rain, and even with that he was sure that she was crying too.
His transformation had destroyed his clothes but it had been several hours of purring and reassurances, his eyes had healed and he could see but his face still burned from the wound across his face. He held his mate gently but with his right hand bright red even in the rain, pressed over her stomach wound.
"It's going to be okay." he whispered reassuringly though his tears wouldn't stop. "You just need to heal. You're going to be okay."
Jade smiled and gave one of her gentle ringing laughs though both actions must have caused her extreme pain. "Oh you're always so sweet..." she whispered. "You were amazing standing up for me but we both know I'm not going to make it..." She placed her left hand over his right, her blood staining her hand now too. "I always wanted a good name for you my wolf..."
He sniffled and shifted her gently. "I don't need a name though. I'm your wolf, I'll always be your wolf."
She smiled again and let out one of her gentle laughs, but it turned into a cough and blood trickled between her lips. "You will always be my wolf." she whispered to him. "But the world should know you by a kinder name than what your father gave you." Her fingers closed over his in an act of reassurance. "Why don't you take my name?"
He shook his head far more violently than necessary but stopped when he heard his love whimper in pain from his swift action. "I couldn't take your name..." He smiled as he watched her breathing become labored. "And besides... That's a girls name..."
Jade smiled back to him. "Then let's call you Jaden... That's a boys name... Please take it..."
The tears wouldn't stop from his red eyes as he embraced his new name. "Thank you love... I'll be Jaden... I love it..."
In the pouring rain it took another three hours of suffering as Jaden purred and cradled his love, trying to get her to calm down even though she was coughing more and more as time passed with the rain. Finally she spat and a large gout of blood coated her lower jaw.
He panicked again even though he had been cradling a dying girl for hours. "Hold on Jade! Just stay with me! I need you!"
She squeezed his fingers gently again even though the suffering was intense. "I'm okay...." she muttered through her bloody lips. "My wolf... I want you to do two things for me..."
Jaden had stopped crying only a few minutes ago but the sorrow was in his eyes as he nuzzled her. "Anything my love... Ask anything of me..."
The smile was there. "I know I can count on you..." she purred, blood bubbling out of her throat. "First of all... I want to see the sea again... I miss the sea..."
"Yes. Anything." he muttered, just trying to have her hold on and delay the inevitable.
Jade broke off the silver necklace around her neck and placed it into her lovers hand and whispered her final request to him.
The last of his tears forced from his eyes as he kissed her gently. "Of course my love. Of course..."
The vampiress smiled and wrapped her arms around the wolfs neck with the very last of her strength. "Oh I love you... my wolf... my love... I do love you... I... I love........"
He felt the strength leave her arms even as he saw the light vanish from her beautiful green eyes and he knew he was alone in the forest now. Clutching tightly to the doll that had been his mate he tried to hold back the anguish that was flooding over him with now use. He howled to the setting moon, a cry of utmost suffering and rage that shook the very forest and forced it to rattle in sympathy for his loss. Jaden shield the body of his mate with his own and cried silently though no more tears would come.

***

For a moment he fancied that his eyes teared up while he was staring at the moon but he knew that was a fanciful lie. He hadn't been able to cry since that night when he used up a lifetimes worth of tears.

As she'd promised, Sibyl had returned to Jaden and her sister as soon as she possibly could have. Of course, if she hadn't made sure that Ceon was comfortable and in a more stable condition she could have been there sooner though it would have likely been at the cost of many other people's lives. More likely than not they would have been innocent lives and the last thing Sibyl really needed on her mind or conscience were dead souls whose deaths she could have prevented simply by comforting a friend that'd been in need of a friend willing to listen at the time.

Sibyl found Jaden and her sister and she noticed that Jaden seemed to be staring off into space and staring at the moon while her sister laid unconscious next to him. She decided to approach him with her voice as opposed to with herself, though she really didn't notice that she'd accidentally snuck up behind him anyhow instead of coming in front of him where he coudl see her. So from behind him she began speaking to him. "Thank you," Sibyl's soft voice chimed with thankfulness, "for watching over her. I'm sorry to keep getting you into mess after mess, it's a wonder you didn't decide to head off after the Las Noches scene I pulled and barely got us out of there without a fight."

"I wish," she said, her human emotions suddenly assailed her with an odd sensation, "I could find a way to better thank you than to just say that I am thankful but I really don't know how." She honestly meant what she'd said to him, that she wanted to thank him with more than just words. She didn't believe in equal exchange or anything but for whatever reason, probably something to do with her human emotions, she wanted to thank him with more than just a thank-you or something that could be bought as a material possession. And after being through two emotionally draining scenes and having even less control over herself than normal, Sibyl walked up behind Jaden and simply hugged him from behind.

Jaden had been listening to Sibyl in mild interest, his furry ears twitching slightly in her direction as he nodded in agreement. He wasn't fond of being pulled from his memories but where Sibyl was concerned he didn't mind quite as much.

When he felt the arms wrap around his back he bristled as his instinct kicked in. Combat tactics flashed through his head: Elbows back, claws across the stomach, spin and palm to the face to pin. He almost went through it too but froze right before he would have caused any damage. "You know I have no need to be thanked." he muttered, rubbing his ear against hers. "It's part of my job."

Where Sibyl's instinct usually would have been at the ready in case Jaden ended up attacking her, those instincts had seemed to dull to the point where they'd faded into the background and were hardly even there any longer. However, after she realized what she'd done she also realized that Jaden very well could have attacked her as well as mistaken her for someone else before actually deciding to check who it was that was there behind him. A simple hug could be deadly and end someone's life and she was sure that Jaden, the hardened verteran that he was, knew that better than most people that she'd met here.

"You probably," Sibyl admitted with her blunt honesty, "don't need to be thanked but I want to thank you. And for whatever reason thanking you verbally seems rather meaningless to get my point across though I suppose it will have to suffice." She smiled when his ears rubbed against hers and she began nuzzling his ears with her nose. "It's not," she said softly but sternly as she pulled away to go and inspect her older sister, "your job to take care of my family. That is another reason why I am thanking you because you watched over her without any questions or wanting anything from me or expecting something in return for their services unlike most people would have."

Johannes White comes into the docks. He smiled towards the moon as he entered the place. This place he would most likely to find hunters and hopefully get some leads on who was killing them. He had heard people follow him and they had been many and well armed. Johannes was only able to shake them of him but not get a good look at them. It was strange for it did feel as if this killers where not any of the groups that reside in this city. It was almost driving him crazy, well a tiny bit.

Ceon walked slowly along the docks, getting many scents, much more than usual. He could smell that Sybil was close, so he kept marching along. But things seemed too quiet, and he took out his street-sweeper, keeping it held tightly in his arms.
