Cobalt Gracious! What is that thing from? Originally, he's from "The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver." The Blood Omen series has some of the best writing in all of gaming. It's a great (although gory) series. The game I mentioned is considered to be the best in the series and is available for PC, Dreamcast, and PS1. *stops himself from fanboy-ing any further*

I love you all the more for that paragraph, Yoder.
Legacy of Kain never had the best gameplay or puzzles, never had the best graphics . . . but it has hands-down the best voice cast, and the Absolute best writing of any game in history. The use of intelligence and interplay of a decent vocabulary make it worth playing over and over and over again.

heart heart heart *gluggles Magni with love*
Oh, I can never get enough of the voice actors. I was so sad when Tony Jay (Elder God) died. I first heard him as Megabyte from ReBoot; he has such a fantastic villain voice. As you said, the word choice is also superb. I always felt like that series respected my intelligence by using words beyond the typical choice. *is incredibly tempted to start playing Soul Reaver 1 again*

I simply adore Kain's voice actor, Simon Templeman. He has such a rich voice and fitting accent that makes him both sinister and intelligent. He is the one character in all the games, and one of the pivotal reasons that series kicks seven billion forms of a**.

Granted, the 3 main characters (Elder God being the third, since some might count Ariel or one of other guardians like Mobius as more important than him/it) all have excellent voices. I haven't heard much from Kain, because I haven't been able to play the whole series. What I have heard I greatly enjoyed though. Raziel is probably my favorite character, and I especially enjoy his VA. His monologue in Soul Reaver 1 is just so beautiful. I actually bought Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (made by Crystal Dynamics) on Steam, because it had a Raziel and Kain character pack for DLC. http://store.steampowered.com/app/35135/EDIT: Disclaimer: My new avi is not intended to be an internet reference in any way.

There have been rumblings of a reboot for about a year now . . . I don't mind the idea, but only if they get the same voice acting and script caliber.

One of my favorite bits of the entire series at 2:23.

Sadly, Amy Hennig has said that she is done writing for that series. I believe Raziel and Kain's VAs are still alive, and they are immeasurably more important to the story than the Elder God is.
Ah, what a great dialogue...

Throwing enough money at anybody will make them change their minds. All that matters is having enough to pay her.

True enough in most cases. Let's just hope that the new Tomb Raider is enough of a hit (which, given the torture porn therein, it will probably be) to enable them to actually do a Legacy of Kain reboot.
EDIT: I think you'll appreciate this comic: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comics/critical-miss/9299-Legacy-of-Kain
