The Kohr liz_bliz_inc The Kohr liz_bliz_inc The Kohr Reaper reached into one of the larger pouches on his belt and removed a glow stick, " You know the Navy Seals use glow sticks?" He snapped it releasing the fluorescent dye. he shook the children's toy to get it going, "The call them tactical glow batons. some are no bigger than the one in my hand now that i got from a convenient store a block from the courthouse. Does the same thing just cost more. Do you get what I'm saying Liz?" Reaper pulled down his mask and flashed her his glowing pearly whites. As she released the last of her aura and let the pale glow of the chemical light paint the area a florescent green she said, "Is this you gloating? Because I honestly don't want to hear it right now." She let out a long sigh and said, "Even with me needing to stop we'll cut time from going around or over." "No need to get so touchy! I'm only offering you some help," Victor leaned against the smoothed out rock wall. "I'm trying to tell you that you keep pushing it like this and you're going to run out of limits. Just because it's faster to go straight through a mountain doesn't mean you have to prove to us that you can do the impossible task. You're a kid pretending to be a full grown adult cape jockey, and that's just dangerous." "Like you're really that much older?" Liz snapped back, "At least I don't treat this job like a game! I'm not trying to prove anything. I'm trying to save our friend and if I have to blow a few fuses to do that I will." "I've got a dozen years of experience on you kid, and I'm telling you that this is how you guarantee an early dirt nap! I'm not saying that you'll regret any of this, I'm just saying we had options! It's not like your friend wants to be rescued anyways. He practically gave the opposition the advantage by cutting literally hours out of the trip." Reaper scoffed at Liz's remarks. "I may treat this as one big game but that's to give everyone a fighting chance. I'm telling you now, so you never ask again, I want to give them all second chances, I don't want to be the judgement for any living being. I don't want to be my father." Victor crossed his arms and looked away from Liz. If it's not a game why does everyone I meet play? I can't help but feel as if this is all one big practice match for the real deal.Liz seemed to seethe at the suggestion that Zack was somehow collaborating. "I swear if it wasn't for you knowing nothing about Zack I would have knocked you on your a** for that. "And don't think I don't think people can't change given the chance. My mother wouldn't be who she is today without second chances. There are some people however, and I have learned this in only a few short years of dealing with the evils that dwell in the darkest corners of man's mind; there are some people who don't deserve that chance you might give them. Maybe some of your nemesis are just misunderstood but I can tell you that with my knife to a human slave trafficker's neck or my hand at the throat of a drug lord, I would feel no such compulsion." Liz stood after that and in doing so was right in Victor's face as she finished, "Maybe your years of adventure and crime fighting have been dealing less with the real scum than my handful."

There are creatures out there that would make even the most depraved man seem as if he was the next in line for the papal throne!" Victor's breathe was heavy with rage as he stared directly into Liz's eyes, weather or not he could focus on the real task at hand was lost to him all he could think about was this girl, this...young woman who challenged him in every since of the word. "I may have gotten soft, I may have just been coasting by on a mediocre performance, but at least I'm not clinging to the coat tails of a more talented team."

The Kohr liz_bliz_inc Dragon Sneeze liz_bliz_inc Dragon Sneeze Alarmed, Chamberlain reached into his pocket world and pulled out the hefty Gram. With as much stealth as he could muster he made his way downstairs in the dark and quietly made his way toward the noise. Perhaps a burglar? No, too noisy...What Chamberlain found was no doubt worrisome. Tara Illias lay strewn out on the floor of his restaurant, his down forced open into some odd shape that the wood should not naturally have been able to take on without snapping. Her entire right are was covered in a dark, sickly purple bruise color and seemed to be seeping blood from a several dozen small lacerations along its length. She seemed semi-conscious, but just barely, and her breaths came in labored huffs like a dog laying on its back after a long run. When Chamberlain came within her blurred field of vision she muttered just above a ragged whisper, "Sorry....had to find a place....safe place...place to rest." With that she lost what control she had of her conscious mind and drifted off into a semi sleep. Wasting no time, Chamberlain sheathed Gram and rushed to Tara's side. Giving her a once over he slowly shook his head. "What happened my poor girl..." With much care he tended to her wounds and moved her to his bed staying at her side pensively until her fever broke. Tara moaned in her sleep a fair amount, Kyle's name came up a few times, along with the words 'Providence', 'Omen' and 'Vector'. The sentences where gibberish at best and potentially served to do nothing but confuse and worry an onlooker. Soul tried his cell several times, and with every call it appeared that Chamberlain was either screening him, or wanted to meet in person. I can't think of a more appropriate topic to discus in person really, I'm sure Mr. Money wants to know if he started financing the wrong side. I'll have to tell him the truth about what Snyder wants. Why I intend to help him... why this could be the best thing to happen to this dank city. He could see the shop a mere block away. While ringing out a washcloth to replace the one on Tara's brow Chamberlain spotted Soul heading toward the store. About time, though not the best time I suppose...He waved him up and went back to tending the fallen woman.

He peered closely at Soul as he wiped the sweat from his brow with his rolled up sleeve. "What's kept you? Usually you're quick to get here when I send the emergency code. Fenton sat in a large dark room, lit by small lamps that lined the wall. Across from him, behind a veiled curtain sat the silhouette of a large woman, larger than the average human female by a good head and or so to the astute. Also in the room, surrounding Fenton in a semi circle that put themselves between him and the speaker behind the curtain. Each of them looked as though they were judging him, and a few like they were thinking about how to best kill him if they needed to.
"So," said the woman from behind the veil, he voice both alluring like a sweet fragrance, but with a jagged bite to it that was to subtle for the unaware to notice; to those who did it was like her voice itself was a trap that their mind was at war with itself to resist or follow. All this, in only the first word.
"You have made the claim that you can remove a thorn from our collective sides, a claim so enticing that my business partners would not have cut your tongue from your mouth just for the suggestion that you might demand to broker this deal with me personally. I too find this claim to make the idea of allowing you occupy the same room as I very endearing.
"The real meat however, is whether you can deliver, and how. So, speak now, young master of machines."

For a moment Fenton could have sworn he saw eyes and a crooked, evil smile spread across the face of the woman's silhouette, almost as if they glowed through the thin veil. Even as hardened as Fenton might have been he would have felt a wave of a sickness in his stomach if only for an instant, there was something inherently unsettling about this woman it seemed. "Good...." she seemed to almost moan, "Very, very good." She handed the laptop back to the man, who in turn returned it to Fenton before sitting again, hands palm down on his stone topped cane. "Out of curiosity my boy, are you aware whom it is you sell off? Call it being cautious, but I would prefer you not gaining a conscience later after you find out, outside my immediate reach. Whether it be from sincere guilt or deciding you fear them more than you enjoy my money." (when she smiles, think of how Medusa smiles when she's being evil in Soul Eater. That was what I was envisioning but I don't think I desicribed it quite right.)

So, speak now, young master of machines." Fenton grinned and his eyes whirred around the room. His shirt was dirty and wrinkles and his hair was matted, but those eyes, they sparkled with a staggering intelligence. Another game for me to play, I hope it will be more fun than the last.He spread his arms and nodded. "I am the key master. I can unlock they gates to a castle you have been trying to storm for a long while. And do so in a manner that leaves its treasures ripe for plunder." His laptop, which had been confiscated as soon as he arrived, switched on by itself. "See for yourself, I've accessed a camera your your viewing enjoyment." The woman behind the veil waved and one of the men seated between them stood and delivered the laptop to the shadowy figure. "It is not a matter of having tried and failed boy, it is a matter of resources and over extension. I have played this little game with a particular member of this group for much much longer than you might imagine and it is always a matter of waiting for a c***k in the armor, or a individual willing to share their way in for the right price. I do not waste my resources foolishly beating at a door that will some day be laid open for me. Once a strike has been made they will know if can be made again and again until their is nothing left and then they will be force to come to me and my own within my world and it is there they will have tackled more than they can handle." "Now, let us see what hole in the wall you have provided me." The screen flickered into a camera feed of Tinker's lab. She stood with a peculiar creature, a young girl wrapped in purple scarves. A man stood in the doorway talking to the two. The girl hid behind Tinker seeming somewhat stand-offish. That was what I was envisioning but I don't think I desicribed it quite right.) Fenton grinned like a cheshire cat. "I'm not interested in money nor recognition. I can own every electronically minded cent in the world if I wanted to." He raised his finger and showed scarred fingertips telling that he had no fingerprints. "And I'm not one for leaving calling cards. To put it simply, I like games. Who will out smart who? That's what I'd like to know. I'm merely the referee who started the game." (That's what I pictured. ;p )

"Well, that is a desire for anonymity you share with your sacrificial lambs. They would rather be ghosts than paragons, which has made them all the harder to drag through the mud. Their insistence on being invisible has made staking them through the heart rather...difficult. "If it weren't for my knowing their ways and being a rather constant thorn in my side I doubt even I would have knowledge of them. A random attack on my holdings with no evidence to the attackers here or there is a simple inevitability of my position...but a path of destruction with no apparent cause is in itself a pattern, like a shadow in the middle of a blaring light the complete lack of a 'calling card' is in fact their calling card. "So tell me boy, how is it you came upon our brave 'hunters of the evils of men'? And I suppose you had at least a scuffle of a time with dear Tinker; even for someone like you, her intellect would make your task... formidable."

"I was merely feeling out the area for children, excuse me, systems that I had not talked to. I came across one who would not talk to me. You see, computer systems to me are like confused children. One you find the way they communicate you can be on even terms with them. This child I found was very difficult, there were many live algorithms that changed often, but eventually we reached an understanding." Fenton leaned forward and grinned. "Tinker was that child's parent."

"How possible would it be for you to gain control of their moving fortress entirely? If you could lock down the entire thing and have it delivered to me I can guarantee you many more games to come."
