MISSION: Nightmare on Oak Street While taking a load off to sleep, you've fallen into a nightmare! This nightmare is like no other as you can't wake up from it! In your dream, you will face Archie, Leader of Team Tsunami, controlling a dark-purple Darkrai. You have none of your Pokémon on you, so you will have to battle the oddly-colored Darkrai yourself....
Pokémon: None
Rewards: Upon defeating the Darkrai, you will wake up. That's the best reward anyone can get with having Archie in their dream! 10,000pd and either a Lunar Wing or a Lunar Charm are also at stake.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maddy woke up suddenly, gasping for air. She sat up but ended up falling backwards as her head seemed to burst open with pain and bright flashes of light danced before her eyes. She slapped a hand to her head and closed her eyes, waiting for the pain to pass. After a few minutes, she felt well enough to get up, so she pushed herself to her feet. Sighing heavily, she looked around, expecting to see everyone looking at her oddly. But what she saw left her speechless. She was surrounded by what seemed to be the hedges in a maze. Except instead of leaves and other such foliage, the hedges consisted of what seemed to be human bones with spikes sticking out from between them. These walls of bone appeared to be at least 30 feet tall, and the spikes made them impossible to climb over. Maddy scratched the back of her head, confused. She looked around, unable to make any sense of this. Finally, she came to the conclusion that if this was really a maze, the least she could do was try and get out. It didn’t occur to her that she wasn’t in the real world. Starting down the nearest path, Maddy noticed several doors as she walked. It seemed that the whole maze was filled with doors and walls. Hoping that going through the doors would help her cut through most of the maze, Maddy walked through the door nearest to her. On the other side of the door wasn’t another set of walls lined with doors, but a large white room. The room was completely empty, and Maddy was about to turn and leave when a lone figure started to form in the middle of the room. At first, Maddy couldn’t make out what it was, but it’s shape was clearly human. But then it became clearer. “Archie?!” The leader of Team Tsunami just stood there, arms crossed, examining her. He didn’t seem surprised at all that he was suddenly standing in a white room, in fact he seemed a bit bored. Then Maddy realized, he had something to do with her being stuck in this strange place! “Where am I?!” Maddy waited for him to answer, a tiny bead of sweat running down the side of her face. She was starting to get a bit nervous. Who knew what could be in store for her now that she was stuck here alone with Team Aqua’s enemy? Archie just watched her for a few moments before replying… “You’re in your own mind.” He disappeared. Maddy looked around frantically. Archie was nowhere to be seen. “Dammit! I’m gonna find you, you b*****d! GET ME OUT OF HERE!!” She stormed out of the room, and instantly ran toward the first door she saw. These rooms were the key to finding Archie and perhaps getting out of this accursed place. The next room she stepped into was by far the weirdest yet. It was more like a really long corridor and much less a room. It had white walls like the first room, except everything was covered with random portraits. Maddy didn’t pay much attention to them though, she was more focused on the glass that made up the floor and ceiling. It was like two really long mirrors. A cold tingling feeling went down Maddy’s spine. Mirrors gave her the creeps, and so did pictures. She was about to turn and leave but the picture to the right of the door attracted her attention. It was a picture of her and her father sitting outside on the step of what Maddy used to call her home. She stared at it for a few moments and then the picture started to move. The Maddy in the picture, who was only a child, was laughing noiselessly with her father. It brought tears to Maddy’s eyes, she wished that she could hear their voices, hear her fathers voice just one more time. Then her father faded out of the picture, and the child Maddy just sat there on the step, sad and all alone. Tearing her gaze away from this picture, Maddy noticed that all the pictures were moving. Each one seemed to represent a memory from Maddy’s childhood, a part of her life that even she could hardly remember. Except each memory ended with Maddy sitting by herself, an abandoned child. Deciding it best to just push onward and escape from this hell, Maddy was about to continue down the hallway when she heard a door open. She looked behind her, the door remained shut. A slight bit confused, she spotted a bit of movement on the floor and looked down at the mirror. Her reflection had disappeared. But that wasn’t what surprised her. The doors reflection showed that the door was open and the person who walked in through the reflection was Maddy’s father. He looked up past Maddy, his eyes filled with sadness. Maddy followed his gaze to the ceiling. Reflected in the ceiling was child Maddy, she was crying and seemed to be pounding on the glass, trying to get out and run to her father. But they were separated, never to be together again. More movement from the floor tore Maddy’s eyes away from her child self, and she noticed that her father was now running down the corridor. On impulse, she ran after him. She didn’t want to be separated from him again. As he opened the door on the other side of the hall, or at least the reflection of the door, the real door in front of Maddy flew open and she ran right into the next room. This room wasn’t white like the others. In fact, it was way more morbid. It was sort of like a dungeon. The room was dimly lit by torches that flickered eerily with a dark purple flame, casting shadows upon the cold, damp stone walls. In the middle of a room, standing atop a pile of bones was Archie. A Pokémon floated next to him, Maddy recognized it as Darkrai. But the person who attracted Maddy’s attention was the person who Archie held by the throat, her father. Archie threw him to the floor, next to several other bodies, who she couldn’t really recognize from where she stood. But she could tell that all of their eyes were faded, staring aimlessly off into nothingness. They were dead. She felt like her heart was going to explode as she started to panic. Could this really be happening?! Archie laughed manically as Maddy ran over and sat by her father’s side. He had a line of blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, and his eyes wandered around the room, as if searching for something. It was if he didn’t see her. “Father?” He obviously heard her, because the moment the word escaped from Maddy’s mouth he looked at her. “Maddy?” He smiled as his eyes fell upon his daughter. Maddy took his hand, he gripped it weakly. “You better not leave again.” Maddy’s voice was shaking, she didn’t want to see her father like this. He looked puzzled. “Again? I have never left you.” Maddy blinked a couple times. “So where have you been all these years? You left me back in that hell with that b***h I’m supposed to call a mother!” He frowned. “You’ve changed. You’re not my sweet little girl anymore.” She looked away, her eyes downcast. “The world isn’t as fun as childhood made it out to be.” He smiled at her words. “You’ve grown up.” She looked at him. “What do you expect? You can’t run away at the age of 5 and try and get by as a child.” Her father’s eyes widened. “5 years old? It must’ve been hard for you. I wish I had been there with you.” Maddy glanced up at Archie. “It was very difficult. But I have something else to take care of now.” Her father smiled. “We will meet again someday. Seek me out where it all began. Remember, this is only a dream.” Maddy looked down at her father in time to see him fade away. She looked at the other bodies that had been lying next to her father. She recognized them now as Brian, Ike, Ginji and all her friends from Aqua. As her eyes fell upon each motionless body, it faded away. The last one her eyes fell upon was Steven, and as he disappeared Maddy felt a sudden anger begin to boil in the pit of her stomach. She got to her feet and looked up at Archie and Darkrai, she was a bit surprised they had waited so patiently. Archie smirked. “That was so sweet.” Maddy clenched her fists. “Shut up! Let me wake up already!” Archie chuckled. “I’m afraid I can’t do that. I’m going to destroy you Aqua pests no matter what!” Maddy rushed at Archie, aiming to punch him, but a dark purple barrier erupted around him and it sent her flying backwards. Her eyes turned towards Darkrai. It’s eyes were glowing ominously, it was protecting Archie! “Fine! I’ll take you out first!” Maddy rushed at the Pokémon, but it merely evaded her feeble attempt at an attack and sent a ball of shadow energy flying towards her. She sidestepped the attack. Gotta think of a plan… She continued dodging Darkrai’s attacks. If I don’t think of something I’m going to die here! Then it come to her. If this was a dream, then she could easily to anything she wanted. After all, it was her mind and she wasn’t going to let anyone mess around with it! Darkrai rushed at her again, but she was ready. Channelling her psychic energy, which she found was strengthened in this realm, she raised her left hand and shot a powerful black and purple burst of energy at Darkrai. The Pokémon obviously didn’t see it coming, it was hit dead on and sent flying into the hard stone wall. Maddy took the time to look at the palm of her left hand, the cut was replaced with a scar that was colored a dark purple. It was shining with energy, “I knew this cut had something to do with me powers!” Maddy smirked as she spotted Darkrai rushing towards her again. It disappeared mere inches from where she was, and reappeared behind her, slamming into her with full force. Maddy tumbled forward, the wind knocked out of her lungs. She gasped with pain, and sensed Darkrai rushing at her again, going in for another strike. But she quickly teleported and appeared behind the unsuspecting creature and punched it hard with her left fist, which burned with a purple flame. Darkrai cried out with pain and fury, and soon both Maddy and her opponent were locked in close combat, both swiftly dodging and teleporting, trying to find each others blind spots. They were evenly matched, and Archie just watched smugly from his little bubble of protection. As the battle continued, no one seemed to gain the advantage. But then Maddy teleported a bit too late, and Darkrai sent her flying across the whole length of the room. She hit the wall with a thud and just sat there against it, panting. She was starting to doubt herself at this point. Darkrai moved closer to her, its claws glowing ominously. It was about to go in for the final strike. Maddy charged her fist with more energy, it was now or never. As Darkrai swiped at her, she lunged at it and punched it in the face, its attack missed its target, which was originally Maddy’s chest and just grazed her neck, leaving 3 thin cuts. The Pokémon backed away, its face burning because of Maddy’s purple fire. It scratched at its face, trying to get the fire away, but its claws sunk in and it screamed with pain. Darkrai floated over next to Archie, as if expecting him to do something. But he would only shout orders at the Pokémon. Maddy seized the opportunity and took a small red explosive out of her pocket. She flicked it at her two enemies and it made contact with Darkrai and exploded instantly. There was a brilliant flash of colors, and the whole room was filled with fire. Maddy retreated to the farthest corner with no way to escape. The fire was rushing towards her when it suddenly vanished. Darkrai was nowhere to be seen, but Archie was still standing, his protection bubble gone. He was looking at Maddy, fear engraved in his face. Maddy cracked her knuckles. “Wake me up, NOW!” She ran at Archie, ready to kick his a** into oblivion, when he suddenly disappeared and there was a bright flash of light an then… nothing. Maddy sprung awake, she was lying in bed. “How did I get in me bed? I’m supposed to be at Mt. Moon!” A familiar voice next to her answered. “It’ll be alright. It was just a nightmare, sweetie. Go back to sleep.” Maddy looked next to her. She was lying next to Steven, and from what she could tell, he was naked?! “AAAAGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!” Maddy sat up, screaming. She then looked around. She looked next to her. No Steven. She felt the surface she was sitting on. It wasn’t a bed, it was solid ground. She was outside. Standing up, she brushed dirt off her clothes and looked around. Yup, she was at Mt. Moon. She sighed with relief. It was all over. She wiped some sweat off her brow, and then remembered her hand. She examined her left palm. There was no scar, just an ugly cut that was bleeding. She tried to summon purple flame, but nothing. “Hmph… Go figure.” >.>

IkarizuMaki_DoA Ike: eek *Grabs Cody by the shirt and starts shaking him* Don't fall asleep! Cody looked at Ike. "I couldn't fall asleep if I wanted to. He layed down on the couch, hoping to regain some strength. "I can't freaking WALK DAMNIT." his voice crescendoing after every word. "My legs have seemed to give out and right now sleep would be great, but something is keeping me up and the longer I'm awake, the more the pain increases. Cody grabbed his head suddenly. A giant surge of pain shot through his skull and it didn't seem to go away. "Great. Just great. I can't walk, I'm in pain, AND MY DAMN HEAD HURTS!"
