Seeing Charisse's reaction, he paused. One side of him insisted that he check out the dojo-like building, while the other tried to override the first and say that Charisse was so worried about it that he should wait until later. The second side laid out a better arguement, as he could come back later, so he said "Don't worry... I'm not going to force you in there... why don't we continue to your place?"

Panda followed Charisse, keeping himself between her and the dojo, and his honed senses alert for possible attackers. Paranoia had come in handy several times while in the dark wood, especially because everything was out to get him.

What am I going to do? Panda wondered as he watched for attackers. I can't impose on Charisse's family too long... but even afterwards... I don't think I'd make it going through the dark forest again. I supposed I'd have to stay here... what would the elder do? The image of the elder formed in his head, and responded I'd stay and protect everyone there, of course! If you die coming back, what's the point? Plus, miss Charisse would make a mighty fine mate. Panda blushed furiously at that thought, but admitted to himself that it was probably what the head ninja would say...

The head ninja had been like a father to Panda, helping him through the training so he could live up to his brother's name. Apparently, the head ninja thought this also included finding a mate for him, which had embarassed Panda on many an occasion. He was unusually good at spotting young lovers before they even knew that they had feelings for eachother. I wonder if she likes me? The thought came unbidden to his mind, and he glanced at her, meeting her eyes. He held her gaze for several moments before flushing even more furiously and looking around for more enemies.

((Unfortunately, I can see where this is going... neither of them are forward enough to ask the other's feelings... sweatdrop ))
Panda continued along the path, his leaden feet offset by his bouyant hopeful heart. Are we there yet? he wondered, knowing the feeling wouldn't last. They'd entered a cluster of homes suitable for families of fluffies. He almost stumbled, but caught himself. Swearing inwardly at himself, he assessed his shape. After almost two weeks of being on the run, he was almost completely exhausted.

((Panda's exhausted to the point that he's working in serious underdrive. He barely has the brain cells left capable of coherent thought, let alone putting his feelings into words... Once he rests for a while, he should be OK, but right now, he needs about a week's worth of sleep in one go...))

Panda nodded tiredly. "I haven't gotten much sleep recently... too many things in the dark woods that are dangerous..." he said, following after Charisse. "I should be fine... after some rest..."

"Alright..." Panda said, following her into the house. Picking a bed at random, he flopped into it, sighing with relief and falling asleep almost immediately.
