Finally, her dream seemed to come to a close, and Honehime was able to relax, at least for a little bit. As it was, in the real world her heartbeat had picked up, and her breathing had quickened a little as well. But now that the dream had finished, she could return to the normal rates for both, rates more appropriate for sleeping rather than anything else. Now that she had had that dream, she would likely stay asleep for the next few hours, or at least however long it was until she had planned to wake up for her share of the night watch.

Lieselotte had been working at the salting, glancing up when Sakazuki moved closer to her. She still hadn't forgiven the Circe for the numerous times of making fun of her and her accent. But revenge could wait until morning, when she wasn't so tired. She could stay awake if she had a reason, but otherwise sleep sounded good. And of course karma would choose precisely the moment after thinking that she Shuku asked if they could stay awake to stand guard. She sighed quietly but turned her head to look at Shuku and nodded. "Very well. Go ahead and get some sleep."

The cow girl continued to sleep peacefully, she still seemed to be staying relatively calm and peaceful, although she was likely still dreaming. She mumbled and mooed for a moment, but it wasn't anything that could easily be distinguished as actual words, just generic sounds. She shifted under her blanket, and pulled her hand back under it as well, pulling free from Shuku's grasp. She snuggled down a little, actually pulling her head under the covers, too. Her mumbling would be even harder to make out now, but that was probably a good thing. Less for the others to wonder about, less for them to have reason to question her sanity, or at least relative saneness.

Sakazuki only nodded to Shuku, as if to assure her that they would take over her role as the watcher. Like hell was she going to let the mysterious puppeteer be the one to remain awake while everyone else slept! That was just some calamity in the making... And not even Sakazuki was that stupid. While she had her moments, now that she was aware of a threat, she had realized that it was no longer safe to play stupid, sadly enough.

Grateful for the generosity of the two, the older woman rose to her feet, the thought that she was surrendering her duty to a group of girls hardly occurring to her as she moved to her own mattress as she lowered herself onto it, looking around slowly at first, debating whether or not there was something left to do before she went to sleep.

Concluding that there was none, Shuku instead pulled the blanket that Mei had sent towards her earlier over her own body before she lay herself to rest, uttering a soft 'Good night' to those that were still awake before she surrendered herself to the undeniable influence of the Sandman.

Time would move on, and Honehime would soundly sleep. The rest of her dreams were closer to the normal, just simple reiterations of the day's events and ideas. She stirred once or twice, but didn't fully awaken until several hours would have passed. She had made plans to take over the watch at approximately the middle of the night. She hadn't been sure if Lieselotte and Sakazuki would have returned in time, so the task of standing watch would have fallen to just her and Shuku. She was fairly confident Shuku would agree that Mei wouldn't be a good choice for standing watch.

Lieselotte moved closer to the cauldron, peering inside to see what was left of the group's dinner. There was still a decent amount remaining. She didn't relish the idea of eating possibly poisoned snake meat, so she picked up a pair of bowls from the ground, and filled both. Moving back closer to Sakazuki, she handed the Circe one in silence. Anyone paying attention could tell that the two weren't necessarily on the best of terms, but even so, there were certain things that one simply did not do, and being too rude at a mealtime or truce was one of them. So at least until morning, she would try to avoid picking a fight with Sakazuki.

Mei squirmed under her blanket, rolling slightly back and forth until she found a new and more comfortable position, now curled up in a vaguely fetal position facing the fire. Her mouth hung open slightly, but she didn't seem to be drooling just yet. Instead, her lips would move a little, as if she were mumbling, or perhaps sucking on a candy. And of course, she was still hidden completely under er covers, so it was extremely unlikely that the others could see even that much. If she would by chance wake up, she would want to remain where she was and go to sleep again. Buried under her blanket, with a crackling fire nearby, it was very warm and comfortable, perfect bait for a creature of comfort like her. But even so, there were things that could get her to wake up and actually get up out of her warm little nest.

"Thank you."

The words passed through Sakazuki's voice naturally as the bowl of stew was offered to her, and without object, she accepted it. Yet, her surprise was evident in her tone as she stared at the rounded containers contents quietly before she raised it to her lips, wordlessly slurping down a mouthful of the stew before she set it down in her lap, her gaze on the forest for a moment as she sighed. "If your business is back at the Academy, why join us?" The witch muttered suddenly in unconscious curiosity as her gaze slowly moved towards Lieselotte.

Honehime continued to sleep peacefully, it seemed the majority of her dreams had already taken place, now she could simply sleep until the start of her shift for standing watch, without fear of yet another shockingly outlandish yet possibly ominous vision dream taking place. She just remained where she was, breathing slowly, as her consciousness experienced nothing so much as nothingness, that black void that filled the time spent between dreams and between sleeping and wakefulness.

After handing the bowl of stew to Sakazuki, Lieselotte moved a short distance away before sitting down and digging into her own bowl. The food was good, it had stayed nice and hot thanks to being on the fire for the whole time. Actually, just a little too hot, luckily not enough to actually hurt her tongue, though. She glanced over at the Circe when she was asked why she had chosen to come. She wondered how much of an answer she should give. The whole truth, or just enough to answer her question. "You ask a question zat has a very difficult answer. Let's just say it will help me achieve my own goals."

Mei flopped onto her back, still staying mostly under the blanket, with the exception of one foot and lower leg. She tried to pull it back within the nest of warmth and happiness, but her blanket wasn't cooperating. Grumbling slightly in her sleep, she tried a little harder and finally managed to succeed. Sighing contentedly, she drifted back into a deeper sleep, pulling her leg close to her other leg, to try to banish those last few lingering traces of outside cold that she was convinced her leg still had, even while she was asleep. She returned to the same generally peaceful, for the moment, sleeping manner she had adopted, mumbling under her blanket every so often as she began to slip into yet another dream. She shifted positions yet again, this time managing to keep all her extremities under her blanket, or rather, inside of her cocoon.

While the answer she received didn't necessarily satisfy Sakazuki, she was decided not to pry any further. She didn't want another argument on her hands and her mouth was full of stew anyway. Even after she had swallowed, she remained quiet and then finished her meal in silence. After that, she set the now- empty bowl aside as she closed her eyes, silently recounting the day's events... In all respects, today had been quite eventful, the most eventful day she had in months... No, years! And that was not an exaggeration in the slightest.

Honehime continued to slumber, and deep within her subconscious, thoughts began circling. these weren't conscious thoughts, ideas or notions. these were basically just random firings of synapses, brainstorming at it's most primal. If she was lucky, one of these odd ideas just might possess some greater gift of knowledge that could help her in a million ways. And if she was unbelievably lucky, she would also be able to remember it upon awakening. These thoughts were even deeper than dreams, they were so deep that they didn't even have a depth. But they were very deep.

The white haired Akasun glanced over at Sakazuki in surprise when she seemed content to accept her answer, without trying to escalate it into a repeat argument from what they had done before. Perhaps the Circe was just as tired as Lieselotte was, and they were both looking forward to sleep. Instead, she took another mouthful of stew and swallowed, before raising her head to take a look around camp. The idea of someone standing guard was a sound one. Anything could happen, as that giant snake had so aptly proven. Even so, they wouldn't have to remain at high alert constantly, the actual odds of something happening were very low.

Nestled up in her leafy blanket, Mei slept peacefully. In her dreams, things ranged from just as peaceful to the very pinnacle of savagery or at least sheer extremeness. Or on the opposite end of the spectrum, brain meltingly silly. Rugs danced and cut themselves, to the tunes of a quartet of rubber bands. Bees practiced spelling words, while their immature siblings, tiny wriggly worms, squirmed into books, eating the fibery pages. A cat was punished, lethally, for discovering something it shouldn't have. But now that it had solved the mystery, it returned to life. All these oddities and inane circumstances, and a trillion more. And, of course, it wouldn't be a series of Mei's dreams without at least some food. She was actually sitting down to eat a nice salad. Unfortunately, the salad seemed very similar to the blanket she was snuggled so contentedly under in the real world. It may not be quite as cliche as dreaming of eating a marshmallow and finding your pillow gone, but it was awfully close. Would the cow girl actual start eating her blanket?

Sakazuki, in silence, stared to her hand as she clenched a fist, slowly feeling the effects of her earlier technique leave her body. Even if she hadn't exactly taken part in the battle, the fact that she had activated her Muscle Toning Skill now left her without ninjutsu or genjutsu for the next twenty four hours... And now that they were stuck on guard duty, the Circe now cursed her foolishness. For an hour of brute strength, she now payed the laborious price of having to go through an entire day (and night) without the use of such techniques... And if something were to attack...

s**t.

The Witch really was screwed.

User ImageLeiko walked into the Academy, knowing full well her presence there would cause quite a surprise. She stayed in the back of the class as she quietly snuck into the room, not wanting to be found out and all. She sighed as she watched the children much younger than her playing around with their chakra, transforming into this that and the other. She had the perfect mind, taking in everything and storing it within the confines of her brain. She was a genius like that, thoughtful and patient, not like some of the people she knew that just went into a fight and not care what would happen to them. She had a plan, although she wasn’t sure what that plan might lead to. After watching the class for a couple hours, she snuck out, going straight for the exit that was right next to the classroom. She wanted to try some of the moves out, even though she heard the lessons hundreds of times. She preformed well in class, so this was more like practice for her. As she went out unto the courtyard, she wondered about the Hyuuga girl she went to school with. She was always messing things up when she in class. She pitied her for the longest time, but soon after they graduated, the Hyuuga disappeared within the village. ‘That girl is lucky. At least she has a family, unlike some people I know who don’t…’ she thought as she turned into Iruka, and then started making copies of herself all around the area she was in. It wasn’t surprising to her when the children saw what she was doing and started to gather around her, watching in awe at her somewhat not amazing performance. Not long after, their sensei, as the children called him, called for them back into class. Leiko was relieved. She hated people watching her as she trained silently. She preferred it that way. The quiet was calming to her in a strange way not even she could understand fully. Without another thought, she started even more training at the Academy, doing everything she could perfectly without any flaws to her part. She trained right into the night, not bothering to return home. It would be empty and lonely to her. Two things she didn’t want to deal with right before going to bed at night. She trained until the brink of exhaustion, that way she would go straight to bed and when she awoke the next morning, she would leave just as quickly as she went to bed the night before. She noticed the sun begin to set and her chakra levels begin to dwindle. “I guess it’s time to return home… not like I care to go home…” she said as she gathered her things and left.

Honehime stirred and sat up on the mattress for a moment, blearily rubbing at her eyes for a second. It was still dark, with the exception of the fire, although even that wasn't as bright as it had been before she went to bed. Some time had passed, but not a lot. So she lay back down, and was asleep once more. She drifted through her dreams peacefully, now that the visionary aspects of them had stopped. Or at least had stopped. Even though she wasn't truly conscious of anything, she could feel another possibly prophetic dream coming up upon her mind. She didn't brace for it, that could shatter it and send it away unseen. Instead, she waited with open arms, figuratively speaking.

Having finally finished her bowl of stew, Lieselotte set the bowl down and shifted her posture slightly, leaning back just a little. The stew hadn't been that bad at all, considering that it had only been made from what they could find in the wild. She glanced over at Sakazuki, and the glance turned into a stare when she aw the Circe inspecting her hand, closing and opening it a few times. She thought back to the skirmish with the snake, but couldn't recall anything that would have hurt her hand. "Did somezing happen to your hand?"

Mei continued to slightly gnaw on a small portion of her blanket, but the bitter, acrid taste of the leaves soon discouraged her from going any further than that. Instead, she twisted and squirmed around a little, until she was on her other side, and just as curled up as she had been before. And the blanket was still wrapped securely around her entire body, hiding her from the outside, and keeping all of that delicious warmth inside, with her. She was asleep, there was no doubt about that, but still able to tell the difference between warm and cold, and definitely preferred the warm. In the meanwhile, within her dreams, she was currently boxing with a marshmallow, hitting it over and over, but not actually doing anything to hurt it. No, the only way to defeat a marshmallow was to eat it!

"No... Not my hand. My entire body is paying the price for a technique. 'Tis merely the result of a bad choice of moves," The Circe replied briefly as she clenched a fist then looked up towards the puppeteer then gave a weary grin. "...It lets me boost my muscle strength, but in exchange, it kinda messes with my chakra and negates my genjutsu and ninjutsu... It's a pain in the bum, really," she mumbled, looking briefly towards Mei for a moment as she nibbled on her leafy blanket, but soon ignored it. It was a habit that even the witch did on occasion, thus, it was nothing out of the ordinary for her.

The dream struck with all the force of a brick wall, but as soft as a breath, sensation itself was as variable as anything else within a dreamscape. Honehime was whirled aloft on a whirlwind tour of lands she had never seen before. She saw fights breaking out all over, generally a simple one on one fight in each occurrence. Some of the combatants she recognized, others she had never seen before. One fight even involved herself! She tried to take in as much details as possible, knowing the sheer impact of this dream vision was sign that it was very important.

Lieselotte took a moment to think about what Sakazuki told her. If she had used such a technique, then would she be able to lend much aid in watching if something would actually happen? Possibly not, but she wasn't about to tell her to go to sleep, if for no other reason than to have another pair of eyes. Instead she considered their options and finally settled for saying a bit of advice. "Well zen, let us hope nozzing happens, so you can recover. How long does zis penalty linger for?" If she was less scrupulous, she might have used this as an opportunity for revenge, but she wasn't that sort of person, not quite.

Within her dream, Mei continued to fight the giant marshmallow, now attacking mouth first, and taking a big bite out of it's fluffy white sugary sweetness. It began to run, or rather, hop away, so she chased it. Until it hopped up the side of a building. She couldn't climb that, so she ran inside to take the stairs. But inside, the building was completely empty. Not abandoned, empty. A yawning black void opened up underneath her and Mei began to fall, right into a classic falling dream. She awoke with a start and a gurgled cry, sitting up with the blanket still covering her. She thrashed for a moment until she realized there was ground underneath her, and then flopped back down, returning to sleep, not actually having fully woekn up for that brief outburst. She mumbled about a cheating marshmallow, and then she was gently snoring again.

"Don't talk to me like I'm useless all of a sudden."

Even if Lieselotte had not necessarily said such in her words, the Circe, oddly enough, felt that by saying such, she puppeteer was talking down to her. As if deep down, her true words were 'Well zen, let us hope nozzing happens. I dun want to have to handle all ze s**t myself'. Of course, this was merely the product of fatigue and her agitation with the Akasun. Yet, as she asked her question, the Witch clenched a fist again as she looked away, letting out a huff.

"Twenty four hours."

The whirlwind kaleidoscopic panorama of different fights continued to swirl all around her, as Honehime struggled to absorb as much information as possible. The more she watched, the more she recognized. And the more she recognized, the more she wondered. wondered what possible purpose all of these fights might have. Were they a necessary act, or was it something else entirely? Who would win, would anyone die? There were many questions, but no answers. That was, as ever, the nature of premonitions and predictions, to leave the subject wanting to know more, and hopefully a little more aware.

Lieselotte frowned slightly as Sakazuki reacted a bit more strongly than she had expected. She let it slide once she realized the Circe was likely just frustrated about the problem itself. She herself would likely be the very same. So for now, at least, she'd try to be patient. When Sakazuki went on to say it would last for twenty-four hours, Lieselotte tried to think back to how long ago the fight had been. It had been a decent amount of time, hadn't it? Maybe at least four hours, by now? So there would hopefully only be another twenty hours to wait through.

Back fully into her dream, the busty cow girl was now walking down a hallway. And walking, and walking. But the end was never in sight. Instead, the hallway itself seemed to be changing. From a distance, the hallway got smaller and smaller as it stretched away, but why was it not getting any bigger once she got to the parts that had looked smaller earlier? Already, she had to crouch to continue walking down the hallway, and it seemed the hallway would just continue to shrink. But she felt like she couldn't turn back, so she had to keep going. Or at least try to keep going. And finally, she got as far as possible, the hallway was only high or wide enough for her to inch along on her side. Even then, with the size of her chest, she was feeling fairly squished and stuck.

Sakazuki closed her eyes, listening to the sounds of the forest for a moment; crickets in the distance, the occasional croak of a toad, but thankfully: no hisses, no anything of the sort. Though she was technically ninjutsu-less and genjutsu-less, she still had means to defend herself... Her magick was not yet negated, thus, she was still a force to be reckoned with... Well, maybe less so now that she was tired, but hey, she was a witch. A Circe. She had spent countless sleepless nights brewing potions and managing rituals, an all nighter was nothing out of the ordinary... But an all nighter after several hikes and fights...

Now that, was tiring.

She needed to find a way to keep herself awake and amused... And so she found herself watching Lieselotte boredly, as if expecting her to do something utterly amazing during the passing moments.
