Awww...cute...

And yes, and the Roman Empire fell because they used lead for pipes and the higher class couldn't babies. xp

They're morons! If they, the Mayans, the Inca, the Indus Valley kingdom, The Greek, Egyptian and Aztec empire didn't fall, i believe are civilization may have been a little more advanced. I mean, the Romans had warmwater baths and pipes and some of the other civilizations had sewer systems.

The Roman Empire didn't fall because of lead piping. The Roman Empire fell because of overexpansion, a decentralized leadership position, and rebelious regional factions.

All those empires fell for a reason. History and the world both move in cycles, and all those civilizations reached the ends of their cycles. Human kind has never really had to reinvent the wheel. Someone has always been there to pick it up and keep carrying it on.

I label the ages as the Ancients (all the civilizations in my last post, plus others), the Dark Ones (the medieval people), the Renassancians (sp?) (you know the period of time of all the thinkers and composers and Da Vinci and everybody), the Colonizers (when all the Europeans started to colonize, no duh!), the Industrialians (from the invention of electricity to after the Gulf war thingy), and the one we're in, the Informationists (look at our com. technology!).

Really, though, your condensation of history into specific epochs skips about geographically and chronologically. Many of the 'ancients' you speak of existed well into the 15th century, such as the Mexica (Aztecs) and the Inca. The Egyptians never really fell, but instead got absorbed by the Roman empire. The entire civilization lasted well into the 6th century AD. The Greeks were also quasi-absorbed by the Roman empire, so that doesn't count as a fall either.

The Dark Ages and the Medieval Period are overlapping. The Dark ages lasted all the way to the 11th century, while the Medieval period is usually credited as starting around the 5th century, at the end of the Western Roman Empire, and lasting until about 1517. Yet, the Renaissance is said to have started in the 1400's in Italy, and in the 1600's in other parts of Europe. Your period of "Colonizers" makes little sense either. The Spanish empire began sending American expiditions in the 1400's, before Columbus even set sail. The Portugese were exploring before even the Spanish, into the islands along the coast of Africa. The British, however, didn't really get into the big games of Colonizing until the 1500's, with Sir Francis Drake's circumnavigation of the globe, and the Roanoke colony in America in 1587. Colonization remained rampant through the 19th century. Remember Britain still held colonies like India well after American independence was won.

In addition, Ponce de Leon, Cortes, etc, all came into contact with the Mexica empire. They brought about its ruin through disease and conquest, but the two shouldn't be considered separated by the Dark ages. They're completely separate, and took place on separate continents. In fact, you've left out the entire history of Asia, much of the Middle Eastern development, and much of Eastern Europe.

Also, between industrialization and information, a little bit did go on. Two world wars, one after Industrialization was already in full swing and one after a depression that nearly destroyed it.

History is imposible to summarize, in my humble opinion. There's just too much that went on. xd

For some reason, I'm doing quite well in 20th Century Canadian History. I loathe Modern History though, prefering Ancient Civilizations better.

Unfortunately, in order for me to get into in a good university, i have to take Gr.11 AMERICAN History. Especially since, I want to take an Archaeology program.

And AlexDitto, that's how I reference it in my brain.

This Discusstion reminds me of middle school. The point is that the Romans are gone, they screwed up and got themselfs kick off of the overlord thing and they ain't godly no mores.

The best part about being a Senor is NO more history (AKA- Story of how white people became head hanchos of USA) But then I've gotta take econ....

Haha, yes, I hated History too, once. But for some reason, it's growing on me now.

Seriously, I've got this strange history book that's fused to my back and is getting rather large.

No, kidding. Sorry, Sing. I'll refrain. Wouldn't want to hurt your precious ears....

HENBANE! Like daggers in your ears. xd

Ah, Destinykeeper, please, call me Alex. You are too polite! biggrin That's very interesting, that you perfer Ancient Civilizations. I'm rather the other way, prefering more recent times. I liked American History, especially the Twenties and Thirties.

Canadian History... that must be a great class. You don't hear much about Canada's history, and they're not included in most history classes. Do you like the class? Is it an interesting history in your opinion?

It's it fun being the smart person in class?

I savour every minute.

But, sometimes compuslary classes are fun too. I had to take AP Government, which I thought I would hate, but I really liked, because my teacher was cool.
