User Image Finding a quiet spot to meditate, San began to focus her attention inward. Breathing slowing her mind drifted away from the world around her. The sound of her own heart beat grew ever louder. [1/5] With the world outside now gone she could focus on her body. It's feeling, it's state, the chakra that was contained inside of it. That chakra was also unique. [2/5][1/4] It was that of the Uzumaki, descendants of the great Senju clan. Within it pulsed a great connection to life. As such the Uzumaki were renowned for their personal energy and will. [3/5][2/4] As San focused on this chakra and moving it around her system she thought back to her leave. One summer with her grandfather, he had described their heritage to her. The chakra that flowed within her could heal any wound. [4/5][3/4] Bringing her mind further inward she could almost feel the pulse of life. It was special chakra which above many others was perhaps the strongest. As it moved about her body she felt refreshed and is if she could heal others by granting them some of her own chakra. [5/5][4/4] [Meditate] [Heal Bite]

However San could feel that there was more to her chakra. Beyond just a strong connection to life, there was a sensation of strength in general. Delving deep into her memories San searched out the feeling of her own chakra. [1/5] An Uzumaki was not simply strong in life force. The chakra could more than just heal. It could actually manifest itself. [2/5][1/4] According to her grandfather, such things took years of training. San for her part had studied under him for nearly a decade. Focusing on her chakra she sought out that power. [3/5][2/4] Pushing on her own chakra and then pulling on she sought to move it around and find the right concentration. Bringing it together and molding it into just a pure solid. That concept was difficult to grasp. [4/5][3/4] Soldiering on she continued to focus on her chakra. Pushing it outward and watching how such an act felt. Suddenly what sounded like heavy chains clanked to the floor. Opening her eyes, San peered at her chakra manifested as solid chains. With these she could bind foes or even created some of the most powerful of defensive barriers. [5/5][4/4] [meditate][Chakra Chains Barrier] [performance]

It was then that Sumika arrived, her presence announced by a loud yell. Allowing the chains to disperse San walked down from the library to the front entrance to find the younger girl. Apparently Kanzaki had failed in his mission or was simply being lazy. Which one it was, the real San did not yet know. However such questions could wait, the most adorable panda the woman had ever seen was now attempting to aid Sumika. Running over to see it, the busty red head squatted or leaned (depending on where exactly the creature was) to get a better look. "It's so ******** cute squirt, you buy the little thing in Takumi? Oh and I'll take those." Quickly acquiring her things, San added the four konin scrolls to her Jacket before looking at the larger human sized scroll.

With a gunbai already upon her back it would be difficult to to carry both things at once. Thinking upon her knowledge of fuuinjutsu San began to devise a method of storage in her head. A new type of seal which could store weapons within it. [1/2] It would also be stealthy and always available. Gathering chakra to her hand, she pressed it to the exposed skin upon her thigh. Suddenly black script spidered out from the spot and while that was occurring she touched the gunbai with the same chakra covered hand. Suddenly the script on her leg began moving and formed itself into a tattoo. [2/2] [Custom: nazuma akusesu no jutsu] [performance]

Taking the gunbai into hand, she simply tapped the tattoo with the other hand. In the blink of an eye the gunbai vanished. Leaving her back holster upon for the large human sized scroll that Sumika was carrying. It was of course placed into the spot without any delay. "Good work runt! Say, where is salt for brains?"

[OOC: With the goods San requested delivered, Sumika had unknowingly completed "Higher Up’s Request" (D-rank mission). If she had also finished the entirety of the mission in Kanzaki's stead, she would also be able to claim Kanzaki's mission, "Escort Mission" a custom assigned B rank.]

The little panda flopped over onto his back as San approached, little chest heaving for breath in an over exaggerated manner as he stared up at the woman who was squatting down for a better look. Sumika beamed as San complimented the little fellow. "Yup! His name's Cobalt." The girl said as she scooped him up and patted the little animal on the head, resulting in a little squeaking sound as the baby animal took interest in gnawing on her fingers. "Pen time Cobalt." She said as she produced a toy dip pen and handed it to the little animal, before flipping down her hood setting him gently into the little pouch it created. "Uhhh... Kanzaki went all weird and blank while he was Shiori, and I got tired of dragging him through the Land of Fire, so I left him, err, her in a ramen stand. She mentioned something about scrolls ahead of time, but nothing else." Cobalt rolled around while she spoke, eventually sticking his head up to survey the scene over Sumika's shoulder.

User Image hahahaha he got himself banned Ignoring the fourth wall breaking subconscious thoughts San looked the younger girl and her panda over. Wasn't Sumika always wanting to run around tinkering with things? "Well good work on getting me my scrolls, say you wanna go learn how to make stuff?" San was curious about that, to be honest she'd be more than willing to authorize some funds be allocated for encouraging Sumika to develop her talents. "If you do why don't you head on down to workshops and find yourself a place to work?"

"I might be a little weird but you can count on me!" Sumika responded to the praise, giving a big thumbs up. Naturally, since she was awesome, the Uzumaki already had the next steps lined up and gave Sumika a cool opportunity. "Workshop?! That sounds awesome!" She said, bouncing around a little before wheeling around and heading out the door. "Thanks for the heads up!"

User Image Now that Sumika was gone, San could get back to her own training. If she was gonna take Taka's place as leader, then she needed to be become far stronger than she already was. Moving to an area where she could actually train San looked to practice some of the things which she had learned. [1/3] Focusing chakra to her palm she condensed and manipulated it into raiton. Suddenly it flared with light and sound as lightning crackled around an orb of energy in her palm. The power of it was difficult to control but she worked hard on maintaining her chakra. [2/3] As she focused on the attack, San soon the world around her becoming blurry and distorted. A kind of tunneling was making it hard to see. It seemed as if the technique was distorting her sight. [3/3] [Performance] San released the chidori and sighed. It seemed as if she wasn't ready for battle with it just yet. Perhaps her body wasn't up to the task.

If her body wasn't ready yet, well San could work to strengthen it. She just wasn't that type to give up that easily. As she'd spent much of her recent training her mind, it was no wonder that her body needed help catching up. [1/4] Certainly learning more physical arts would help. However San explicitly wanted to work out her energy pathways before she took a more physical approach to training. To that end she continued to build up chakra for some techniques. [2/4] Focusing her chakra into a jutsu, San released a clone. The technique itself was simple. A clone made of raiton. [3/4] However it combined several skills together which made it a good technique for this training. San could feel the impact it had on her chakra network. Perhaps more training like this would aid her quest to become stronger? [4/4] [ Performance]

To that end, San began to build up chakra once more. This time somewhat more than her last attempt. She would progressively build up her chakra usage efforts. [1/4] In that way she could get more and more used to the greater strain. Focusing inward she worked her chakra network to coax out more strength. The energy began to build up where she wanted it. [2/4] Molding it into raiton was next. The process was becoming easier the more she did it. Soon her usage of that type of chakra would be rather efficient. [3/4] In the end she capped off this performance of chakra by unleashing a simple lightning bolt. The electricity flew through the air and singed a target dummy. The smell of burnt wood filled her nose in a way that made it wiggle with irritation. [4/4] [Performance]

Continuing on with her training, San looked to up the ante a little. It was time to make something a little flashier. Something a bit flashier. [1/3] Gathering up her chakra she began molding it into a raiton technique. Soon lightning nature chakra was being gathered into an uncompressed ball between her hands. This was the lightning ball technique. [2/3] Letting it fly, her chakra raced through the air and slammed into the target dummy with a loud clap of thunder. Breathing somewhat heavily, San couldn't help but grin. She was getting stronger. [3/3] [ performance.]

Though it was beginning to tire her, San pressed on. One more big build up should do it. After that she'd rest. [1/3] Building up a concentration of chakra to her left hand San worked on bringing forth a fuuinjutsu. Suddenly a character representing an element appeared upon each of her finger tips. They glowed brightly with a sickly looking purple hue. [2/3] This was the five elements seal and if applied to a target's skin it would lock their usage of those elements. Though today she lacked a target, building up the chakra was enough for her training. With a satisfied smile, she release the technique. [3/3] [Performance]

Now that she was good and tired perhaps it was time to reflect upon what she had learned. Sitting down the floor in a kneeling position, San began to slow her breathing. Pushing her mind inward she began to lose track of the world around herself. [1/4] Slower breaths, slower heart beat, attention towards her inner self growing ever greater. Soon she would be entirely focused on the internal. Within her minds eye the minute details of her own body became rather apparent. [2/4] Her chakra network had become stronger since the last time she gotten in tune with her self like this. As she learned more and tried to use new techniques her body was growing as well. This was an exciting prospect. [3/4] Moving chakra from area to another, she studied the feeling of it. The energy moved faster than before and with less resistance. This was also good. [4/4] [Meditate] [Resting x 4]

Her chakra network's capacity was growing as well. Where before it might have been tiring to use several low ranking techniques at all once, that was now without strain. Indeed the amount of chakra she could call upon at once was growing. [1/4] Maintaining her breath San connected thought and inner workings. Her memory of how to utilize high level jutsu was combined with the act of moving her chakra about her own system. In this way she worked to combined the efforts of mind and body. [2/4] Of course it was also important to practice allowing her chakra to return to rest. This would cut down on the amount wasted with each technique. Improving her overall efficiency. [3/4] It was actually a lot harder to leave her chakra be than it was to make it move. Stillness was difficult. However she would do her best to work on it. [4/4] [Meditate] [4 x resting]

Continuing on with her meditation San would look to hold her chakra still as possible. Looking to quiet her energy as well as her mind. It was an interesting prospect. [1/3] It was actually pretty hard. Simply holding energy still was definitely no easy task. Taking a deep breath she held the chakra in place for as long as possible. [2/3] When she no longer could san relaxed and let it flow. Exerting such control helped to give her a greater insight into her own energy. As she reflected upon the progress of her training she realized how she was indeed becoming stronger. [3/3] [Concentrate]

The meditation was working. San was beginning to feel stronger in spirit. Perhaps soon she would be approaching some level of being respectable. [1/3] Focusing on holding her chakra at multiple points she began a new level of the training. It was far more difficult to hold her chakra at multiple different points. Still she persisted on. [2/3] While it didn't exactly become easy at all, it did become easier. Slowly her mastery over her own chakra was growing. Taking in a deep breath, San allowed her chakra to settle. [3/3] [concentrate]

Opening her eyes again San took in her surroundings once more as she brought her attention back into the world. This had been a good training session but she still had much to learn. In the end she'd be better for it.

Chie wasn't about to teach before she did her part in getting this academy cleaned up. She grabbed a dust pan and a sweeper. She then went to work sweeping up the glass shards. The first place she started was the doorway to the academy. That seemed most important.

While the building itself was coated in black steel, the windows were standard glass. They had no protection when the sand hit. Chie remembered feeling fear for the first time in her young life when the sand broke through the classroom. It felt right to help clean up the mess now. Even if it was only a part.

Chie was nearly finish clearing up the glass and sand along the main pathway. If she was at home then her mother would have expected her to have the whole academy cleaned in half the time that it was taking her just for this pathway. Man was she glad to be out. With one final sweep she cleared the pathway.
(Disaster Clean up: D-ranked 3/3)

Now that Chie cleaned up the pathway, she moved inside the building. As expected, the academy students did not do their chores of cleaning up the glass. Chie swept it up along with the sand. That was not going to fly while she was there.

As Chie made it up to her old classroom, she swept along the path she took. It was her old favorite path, aka the fastest. Each step she took she cleaned up more glass and sand. Chie was not going to let this go.

When Chie made it to her old classroom, she was relieved when it was mostly clean. Only a little bit of sand entered from where the window was broken. Chie moved over to the area and swept it up She then disposed of all of the dust into a bin.
(Disaster Clean Up: D-ranked 3/3)

Now Chie had the rest of the academy to clean up. She started on the floor she was on. She moved swiftly and dusted even swifter. She was like a raging river the way she moved.

Chie then moved up the floors. She was like a maniac cleaning up the school. Everywhere there was glass and sand was the enemy of Chie Saegahara. As the world's greatest ninjutsu master, she had to show the adviser that no task was beneath her.

Finally, she got to the roof. A lot of sand accumulated to the top of the school. No one bothered to clean it up. Sounds like a job for Chie Saegahara! Within minutes she had it all cleaned. Now the school was cleared of glass and sand.
(Disaster Clean up: D-ranked 3/3)

Or Chie would relax... if there weren't leaves everywhere! At first, it was one leaf. Chie was content to ignore it. Then, the leaves came like wildfire. Chie swept them up with the haste. She was not going to let her school become dirty with leaves either.

Chie caught each leaf as it fell. She then threw it into the trash. Did mother nature think it could win against her? Did she really think that Chie Saegahara, the worlds greatest ninjutsu master, would be stumped by a couple of leaves falling? No! She was going to outlast this beast until the very trees themselves tired of dropping leaves.

At last, Mother Nature played her final card. She dropped a myriad leaves at the same time. Chie reacted as though it was life or death. She moved rapidly to pick up and discard each leaf before it landed. She did not hesitate. When she finished not a single leaf fell on the roof. She had won.
(Village Hidden Under Leaves: 3/3)

That was, until she realized that all of the windows were broken. With a sigh she went down the stairs. Sure enough, leaves everywhere. A defeated Chie swept along the leaves. She may have won the battle, but she had lost the war.

Chie continued to sweep. Her movements were slower than before. She was definitely moping. How could she have let her guard down? Was this the end of her ninja career? Defeated before she began?

NO! Chie Saegahara was not going to fall victim to her own self-loathing. She was the world's greatest ninjutsu master. A revigorated Chie moved twice as fast and with four times the purpose. It took her moments to sweep away all of the leaves which cultivated in the building. She was stronger than mother nature any day of the week.
(Village Under the Leaves: 3/3)

A revitalized Chie exited the courtyard. Leaves were everywhere. Chie moved fast. Her tools swept up the leaves into one giant pile. She attacked it from all angles. She had a plan of attack.

Her next strike was to change her tools. Chie put down the broom and sweeper in lieu of something more powerful. It was one of the most powerful ninja tools available for home maintenance. It was the garbage bag.

Chie opened the bag up. The black plastic crinkled loudly as it expanded. Then, with no hesitation, Chie swallowed up the leaves into the bag. She moved like a ravaging woman. When she finished, she threw the bag into the incendiary section of the school. The academy was now clean. She was a miracle worker.

Chie wanted to learn some more ninjutsu before she taught it.
Since she wasn’t one to waste energy, rather than mindlessly practicing, she instead read the scrolls of the techniques she wanted to learn in order to enhance her abilities. One technique she read about was, through the use of handseals, one could paralyze their opponent. Apparently the opponent could use more chakra to negate the technique. However, she was sure that if she utilized her korabo training, that she could make it much harder for the average ninja to escape from.
(Temporary Body Paralysis; D-ranked learned)

Speaking of which, she had to remind herself how to do Korabo. She needed to remember that it was all about counting her breath, so that she was in absolute control of her own ninjutsu. It was only in being perfectly sync with herself that she could master such a difficult task. Of course, she was able to master it because she was Chie Saegahara.
(Korabo; B-ranked learned)

Now that was over, time to read about more speed based techniques. Body flicker sure seemed interesting. The ability to get from point a to point b at maximum speed. As a ninjutsu master, she felt the need to master more ninjutsu focused forms of transportation. This seemed like the most casual one.
(Body Flicker; D-ranked learned)

Chie felt like Astral Projection was a good skill too, which is why she read up on it. The handseals were simple, and she was sure she could do them at a moment’s notice. The skill would be particularly useful in case she ever got kidnapped. Not that she would, since she was Chie Saegahara.
(Astral Projection; C-ranked learned)

The ability to fire off multiple Kunai seemed useful as well. Chie felt like aiming and throwing ten kunai at the same time without the use of chakra would take serious effort. Better just to read up on the technique and just memorize the handseals. Chie was going to be the best ninjutsu master. She might as well be the best ninja while she’s at it.
(Advance Manipulating Blades; C-ranked learned)

While reading about levitating kunai, Chie came across a technique which allowed her to make a sword levitate. Now, she didn’t have a sword. But she couldn’t doubt that at some point she may want a sword. Because of this, she read up on how to perform the technique. After all, she was one day going to be the world’s greatest ninjutsu master. Might as well learn the basics.
(Sword of Kusanagi: Long Sword of the Sky; B-ranked learned)

Finally, Shadow Clones! Chie read up diligently on how to perform shadow clones. It interested her that the technique only required one seal, albeit a bizarre one. Regardless, she performed the seal as five clones appeared around her. Excellent. She divided a portion of chakra to each of them so that they could do the work of training for her. All the while, Chie meditated.
(Shadow Clones; B-ranked learned)

Lightning Chie went off to read a scroll about Lightning ninjutsu. First she read about how to resist lightning more, specifically her own. After all, lighting ninjutsu would be useless if she constantly shocked herself. This didn’t require any handseals. The guide basically just instructed her how to not be an idiot with her own chakra.
(Lightning Resistance Training; E-ranked learned)

Lightning Chie also read up on Flickering lights. The technique seemed silly enough, but the idea of generating enough light to blind did have its uses. She figured it couldn’t hurt to read up on. Once she memorized the handseals required, she moved onto the next technique.
(Flickering Lights; E-ranked learned)

Next it was time for the combat stuff! Lightning bolt looked interesting. Chie read up on how to do it, as well as what handseals were required. It didn’t take her long to grasp the concept. She was a ninjutsu master, after all.
(Lightning Bolt; D-ranked learned)

Next was lightning transformation. Thankfully in the academy she learned the basics of transformation. She never thought it was possible to turn herself into a bolt of lightning, however. It was in this scroll though, so after taking note of it she was fairly sure she could use it. After all, she was a ninjutsu master!!!
(Lightning Transformation; D-ranked learned)

Huh. It looked as though Lightning Bolt was only a minor version of this technique. Chie read over the instructions, and she was sure that she could modify the technique to make it work out stronger. All she would need to do is add a handseal somewhere in it.
(Lightning Blast; C-ranked learned)

Huh, another argumentation for this lightning bolt. This one took the blast of the previous attack and focused it into a beam. How quaint. Still, all it would take for Chie to perform was a deviation in one of the handseals. It was child’s play to learn.
(Lighting Beam; C-ranked learned)

Chie liked birds, which is why she learned the swarm of hummingbirds technique. She figured that creating a swarm of birds would be cute. Hopefully she would be able to create a dog… Regardless, she learned the handseals from reading the scroll.
(Swarm of Hummingbirds; C-ranked learned)

Finally, a shield. Chie needed some defensive ninjutsu. She wanted to be a team player after all. Cloud Shield seemed like a good idea, especially with how she could utilize korabo techniques with it. Chie took no time memorizing the handseals. Reading ninjutsu was sure easier than performing it.
(Cloud Shield; C-ranked learned)

Now it was time to get to the more serious ninjutsu. Lightning Ball meant business. It hit hard and moved faster than what its rank should provide. Chie took no time to master it simply by reading about it. This was something definitely worth her time.
(Lightning Ball; X-ranked learned at B)

Electric Fog, that looked interesting. Cover the entire field in a cloak of chakra which constantly electrocuted everything inside? Yes please. Lightning Chie read that technique with haste. She wanted that good power, which was why she learned the handseals swiftly.
(Electric Fog; B-ranked learned)

Water Chie was off reading on her own. First thing she needed to learn was how to make water. This would greatly influence the course of the rest of her Korabo techniques. The amount of handseals required were rather miniscule considering the magnitude of the technique. Not that she cared much, however. Even if it took a million and twelve handseals, the most powerful ninjutsu Master would not cave.
(Water Manipulation: X-ranked learned at E)

Swords were cool. Water Chie recalled how regular Chie learned up about how to make a sword levitate. Maybe this technique would make that technique worth something? She learned diligently how to make water appear in the shape of a sword. It didn’t take her long to master it.
(Water Sword; X-ranked learned at E)

Water shuriken sounded useful. After all, all she had were fifteen kunai. Why couldn’t she have like, a hundred? Oh well, not her problem. Her current problem was getting them learned, and with minimal effort she memorized the handseals and chakra molding required to learn them.
(Water Shuriken; D-ranked learned)

Chie didn’t like the idea of turning into a water puddle. It felt like a dampening idea. However, she was a ninjutsu master. Learning ninjutsu she didn’t want to use was part of being a ninjutsu master. Therefore, she learned how to turn into a puddle.
(Water Puddle; D-ranked learned)

Chie liked the idea of making her ninjutsu stronger. One of the techniques on her list was an augmentation of her shuriken creation technique, making them stronger and meaner. That was good. Chie learned that in a moment’s time. All it took was a memorization of handseals.
(Evil Windmill Shurikens; C-ranked)

Water puddle transportation. That seemed useful. Chie read up about it. Thank God she was only the water training clone. She would probably make herself go poof if she was responsible for learning EVERY SINGLE NINJUTSU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Water Puddle Transportation; C-ranked)

Water Chains sound cool. They don’t stop the opponent, but they cut down their speed. That’s important, right? Chie read up on it. She memorized the handseals required for it.
(Water Chains; C-ranked)

Chie decided that she needed to punch things. Too much of this was long range combat. She needed to be able to get into the fray. Water armor would help. Having protection could go a long way. Because of this, Chie learned up that skill.
(Water Armor; C-ranked)

A giant fist of water sounded awesome. The technique applied water to a limb to make her punch hurt more. Chie really liked the sound of that. She learned that technique and memorized the handseals required. This was something important.
(Strong Water Arm; B-ranked)

Of course, Chie needed to go back to actual ranged ninjutsu. She was a ninjutsu master, after all. Water Dragon Projectile seemed right up her alley. The amount of handseals for it seemed silly. She was sure that she could make it work with fewer signs.
(Water Dragon Projectile; B-ranked)
Wind Chie was much more relaxed. She was going to learn everything. The E-ranked skills looked fun. Wind levitation was fun. Pick something up with wind and throw it. The technique was basic, so while Chie memorized how to perform it, she doubted she would use it much.
(Wind Levitation: E-ranked)

On the same line as basic techniques, wind retrieval looked good. It allowed her to recover objects with wind. Chie made sure to memorize how to perform this technique. Reading was certainly easier than doing.
(Retrieving Wind: E-ranked)

Propelling winds was next. The ability to launch oneself fast sure seemed useful. Chie read up on that with rapid speed. She was quick to memorize it.
(Propelling Winds: D-ranked)

Bursting Air Pockets sounded interesting. The power to make a burst of air anywhere could have some fun. Chie read up on it, and then memorized it. It was all too easy for a ninjutsu master such as herself.
(Bursting Air Pockets: D-ranked)

Armor of wind could be cool. The power to shield oneself from harm certainly sounded useful. Plus it had the extra benefit of catching things up. Chie read and memorized the technique, as well as the molding and handseals required.
(Armor of wind: C-ranked)

Tornado trap had obvious appeal. The power to contain an enemy was going to be useful against multiple enemies. Chie learned that quickly. She was able to memorize the molding required in a matter of seconds.
(Tornado Trap: C-ranked)

Tornado Barrage certainly elevated her blood. The power to call down tornados on her opponent seemed brutal. She almost felt like it was too much. Then she stopped being a wimp, and memorized the molding required for the technique.
(Tornado Barrage: B-ranked)

Chie also took interest in the Hardliner Gale Fist. The power to punch people with wind sounded cool. Chie read up and memorized the technique. The molding and handseals required seemed all too simple.
(Nadeshiko-Style Hardliner Gale Fist: B-ranked)

The Earth Military Movement technique was the first technique Earth Chie learned. It allowed her to merge in the ground. It took her no time to read and learn the technique. After all, she was a ninjutsu master.
(Earth Military Movement Technique: E-ranked)

Swift Earth also had use. The power to move the earth at a speed seemed like it had merit. Chie read and memorized that technique in moments. It helped that the technique was particularly simple.
(Swift Earth: X learned at E)

Stone Shuriken probably had use. The power to pick up and throw rocks seemed a bit basic for ninjutsu. And yet, she couldn’t deny its use. Rocks hurt, which is why she memorized this technique.
(Stone Shuriken: D-ranked)

Ground shaking was next. The purpose of the technique was designed to off balance a standard opponent. Chie hoped it could end a fight before it began. That’s why she took the time to memorize how to mold chakra for it.
(Ground Shaking: D-ranked)

Earthing Rising Spears was cool. Chie liked the idea of making stone spikes come up to attack the opponent. She read this technique particularly fast. Thankfully, her photographic memory was more than enough to memorize how to perform the technique.
(Earthern Rising Spears: C-ranked)

Light Weight Rock Technique looked cool. The power to make the things Chie had to carry seemed like a very useful skill. Chie wasted no time reading up on it. She memorized the molding required shortly after doing so.
(Light Weight Rock Technique: C-ranked)

Chie almost missed an augmentation on her ground shaking technique. This one made the technique even more useful by launching the opponent into the air. Chie was positive she could find use for such a technique. That was why she took the time to memorize its chakra molding.
(Ground Shock Wave Technique: C-ranked)

Another augmentation. This one allowed Chie to enhance the skills of her Earthern Rising Spears. That seemed like a solid trade in her book. It was well worth learning how to mold the chakra for.
(Rock Pillar Spears: B-ranked)

Earth Style Split felt useful to Chie. The use of being able to force the ground to open up seemed really useful. It seemed like something easy to chain korabo with. That was why Chie taught herself the technique.
(Earth Style Split: B-ranked)

Finally, defensive. Earthern Spear seemed useful. The power to make one’s body as hard as stone would definitely have use. Especially since it increased her punching power. Chie learned that technique in no time flat. All it took was a read and a memorization on its chakra molding.
(Earthern Spear: B-ranked)

Fire Chie was heated up! She was practicing the art of cinder. She snapped and fire appeared. It only took her one read to learn how to perform this technique. After all, she was a ninjutsu master.
(Cinder: E-ranked)

Chie read up quickly on fire resistance training. It was simple enough. Don’t be an idiot around fire. Don’t burn yourself. Simple stuff really. Still, Chie had to be the best. If she didn’t train herself, then how could she be expected to learn it?
(Flame Resistance Training: E-ranked)

Mist Waltz certainly had a flare to it. The power to coat the area in something flammable sounded appealing. Chie read up on it quickly. It took her moments to memorize how the molding of chakra worked in this technique.
(Mist Waltz: D-ranked)

Shuriken seemed fine enough. Coat a held throwing weapon in fire. Cool! Chie read up and learned this technique quickly. It was nothing for a ninjutsu master such as herself.
(Shuriken: D-ranked)

Now we were learning the iconic fireball techniques. Great Fireball seemed right up her aisle. The power to fire off a big ball of fire seemed cool. That’s what the great ninjutsu master took the time to memorize how to mold the chakra for this technique.
(Great Fireball Technique: C-ranked)

Smaller fireballs were also awesome. Chie saw a lot of use for them. It took her no time to train to learn these as well. All it took was a glance to memorize the molding of chakra required.
(Mystical Fire Flower Technique: C-ranked)

Chie next mastered the Fire Dragon Flame Projectile. Despite its pretentious name, the technique was nothing more than a stream of fire. It was a strong jet of fire, however, so the molding was more intimate. Still, Chie was able to master it with no issues just by reading it.
(Fire Dragon Flame Projectile: B-ranked)

Burning Ash Accumulation seemed interesting. It covered the playing field in this ash like texture. Then it made the area go boom. Chie could not deny the pragmatism of this technique. That is why she taught herself it.
(Burning Ash Accumulation: B-ranked)

With all of her techniques ready, Chie was ready to teach. She had her clones disburse by using too much chakra. This allowed her to get right into the fray.

Chie had to rest.
While she rested, she figured she might as well meditate. It would help her further mold chakra. As a ninjutsu master, this was rather important to her. She had to be the best, and everyone had to know it.

Chie practiced forming various handseals. She allowed her mind to zone out while she did so. At first, she had both hands form the seals. Then she broke the hands apart in order to practice two seals at the same time.

Chie had to clear her head in order to get the most of this meditation. She couldn't allow herself to think about impressing anyone or being better than who she was. All she could think about was reaching absolute zero. The number appeared in her head like a lighthouse in the night.

As she meditated, Chie thought about all of the techniques she read and learned about. Because of her photographic memory, she was able to recall each handseal she studied. Now that she had some time, she recalled each sign and each molding. Chie played them all out in her head.

Ox, dragon, rat, tiger. Each handseal was formed by one of her two hands. She was enlightened at the moment, reaching true meditation. She snapped herself back to reality only to observe the difference she felt within herself. She felt good.
(Meditation: 5/5)

Since Chie wasn't no quitter, however, she went back to meditation. She needed to max out the amount of meditation she could do. She was the world's greatest ninjutsu master, after all. How could she hold onto that title if she couldn't properly meditate?

Her hands went through seals as her eyes were closed. Once again she practiced first by using her two hands to mold seals. As she continued, however, she once again broke into two hands performing two separate seals. Her purpose was to get herself to make handseals as quickly as possible.

Chie once again reached the absolute zero. It was easier the second time. Her mind was already reverting back to that gentle place in her mind. No sound could reach her. Only the breeze of the world around her, which echoed within her own mind. She felt small within her own mental landscape.

Her mind raced through all of the techniques she learned earlier. There were so many techniques she learned, and so many techniques she memorized for later. Each one was like a book on a shelf in a giant library. Chie was able to see all of the books and knew exactly how were supposed to be performed. That was the miracle of meditation.

Rooster, ox, pig, dog. Handseals rapidly formed in succession. Chie was truly a master of ninjutsu. She was ready to begin her goals of teaching. As she slowly awoke, she stood up and stretched. She was good now.

Chie readied herself for her first mission as a substitute teacher. She did all of her personal ninjutsu training, which allowed her to feel comfortable in her abilities. She was, after all, a master of ninjutsu. The other teachers assigned her to room 2-F. Chie was only aware of the class by its reputation. 2-F was known to house the remedial students. She sighed at behind handed the students who no other class wanted. It truly made no difference to her, however. Chie was still going to teach them ninjutsu.

Chie entered the classroom and immediately ducked down in order to dodge an eraser. The class broke into laughter until Chie’s head rose. Her eyes flared with the light of a supernova. Handseals formed swiftly in both hands at her sides. At the end she brought them together horizontal to her torso as water covered both her hands and forearms. Chie was not one to suffer fools nor was she about to teach them. The moment she closed the door behind her, the sounds of tossed desk and screaming children erupted like popping popcorn until it all came to an abrupt stop.

“Now that we got that out of the way…” She said with a deep breath. She stood in front of the classroom as her ninjutsu was cancelled. The students who faced her groaned comedically as they were covered in light bruises and bandages. One student in the back was hunched over his desk unconscious. They all showed signs of defeat.

“Chie Saegahara will teach you some solid ninjutsu.” She said with a grin. She used the rest of the day to cover the basic principles of ninjutsu. No student dared to ignore the lesson. They all focused intently and remained diligent. The moment the bell rang, however, all of the students darted out of the room like racing horses.
(Substitute Teacher: C-ranked)

When all of the children left, Chie went to work cleaning the classroom. She really did make a mess of it. Was she too reckless with her approach? None of the other teachers scolded her or had her fired. Either that meant Chie was within her rights, or that no one cared enough to stop her. She was in charge of the remedial class. Nonetheless, the girl marched forward cleaning.

Chie was stunned when she heard a noise behind her. She turned to see one of her students flipping over a desk to have it back on its legs. Chie fixed the chair she had in her hands and then slid it into a desk. She then walked over to the kid and flipped an upside down desk in front of him right side up, slamming it loudly onto the ground so that the kid would be startled into noticing her.

“You won't get brownie points for helping, you know. I have it handled myself.” She said sharply. The kid couldn’t be older than ten at the oldest. He looked younger than eight though. She didn't need him getting in the way. The boy calmed himself after the shock, but then turned away from her. He then raised a chair and slid it back gently into the desk Chie fixed.

“I’m sorry for this.” The kid said. Chie’s face flashed with confusion. The kid flipped over another chair as he continued. “The chalk. I tried to tell the other kids not to do it, but no one would listen. With Mr. Sentou gone, people want to be here less than they did before.” Chie rested her hands on her shoulder as the kid spoke. As he reached for another chair, a gust of wind erupted from underneath it. The chair then flew into the air before it landed up straight.

“What’s your name?” The girl asked. “Hoseki Fujioka.” The boy answered. Chie smiled as he walked over to the kid and ruffled his hair. “Well Hoseki Fujioka, it sounds like you were the least guilty person to be responsible for this mess. And not only are you apologizing for it, you’re also cleaning it up. You really gotta stop making the world’s problems your own.” She said in a snappy, but playful tone. The kid chuckled as he pushed the hand away. Locks of black hair fell in front of his face as he looked up at her. The two finished cleaning up the room and then sat on the teacher’s desk as they admired their work.

“Don’t tell the other kids I let you sit on the desk tomorrow, got it?” Chie remarked. Hoseki nodded, but then was jolted with surprise when Chie’s pinky finger came out. He instinctively locked it with his own pinky and the two shook on it. It was then, however, that Chie noticed the sun had set. “Darn. Your parents must be worried about you. Head on off before I get accused of something heinous.” She said as she was then pushing the kid off of the desk and out of the classroom. The boy stopped at the door frame, turned back to her, and smiled.

“Will you be back tomorrow?” Hoseki asked. Chie honestly didn’t think she would after the initial round. She thought that this required too much patience for someone like her. But, with a chance to breath and a moment of levity, she nodded as she gave the boy one final push out of the door.
(Clean up: 7 out of 3, meaning that 200 extra ac is rewarded)

Chie showed up to work bright and early the following day. She went to the main office and got her report. She was back to working in classroom 2-F. She was ready for a round two. Yesterday was a good exercise for her. Now she was ready to really prove herself as a ninjutsu master.

This time the young girl was able to get to the class before her students arrived. She took the time to read up on the name charts and find out who sat where. Hoseki sat up in the front row, so that would be nice. Hopefully he was as remarkable today as he was yesterday. The class only had nine students, so she doubted that she would have any real issue. They already knew what to fear if they acted up, so she doubted she would have the same issues as the day before.

Sure enough, it was time for the kids to roll in. Each kid went wide eyed when they saw Chie standing in the front of the room. Only Hoseki looked excited, but then went to hide his enthusiasm since it would be uncool to like the person who was teaching. He took his seat, however, as Chie forced the class to give the proper greeting to their teacher with a stern stare.

“Now then. Today we have two goals. The first is to get you guys more situated with ninjutsu. The second is for none of you to be bad enough to require me to knock you all around more.” Chie half-joked. She went through her lesson as she explained more about the basic principles of ninjutsu. The class was surprisingly attentive today, so much so that Chie was able to dive a bit into advance ninjutsu. They also didn’t bolt out of the classroom like they did the day before. In the end though, they all left on the final bell, which meant that this job was over once more.
(Substitute Teacher: C-ranked 4/4)

Chie exited the classroom and was heading out when she saw Hoseki in the hallway. He had his body pressed against the ground as he was looking underneath the lockers. Chie coughed loudly to get his attention, which caused him to bolt upright in the presence of his teacher. “Everything alright?” Chie asked concerned. The boy’s head lowered in shame.

“One of the other kids took my wallet. They said they hid it somewhere, but I’ve been searching this entire school and haven’t found it yet.” He said. Chie’s eyes widened. “Someone from 2-F?” Chie snapped. She was ready to have heads roll when Hoseki denied it. “No, one of the other classrooms. The classroom I was in before I joined our room.” He said. Chie was still ready to bring the academy down. She hated to see bullying of any kind. Anyone who picked on the weak was worthless in her eyes. She was charged enough to go straight to the main office and raise holy hell until every parent was called. She took a calming breath, however, when she saw how concerned the boy was.

“Come on.” She said as she turned around and started walking. Hoseki was stunned until Chie turned back around and sighed. “You said the kids stuffed it somewhere on school grounds right? If you already checked the academy, then that only leaves the storage yard, the rooftop, and the courtyard.” She then turned back around and started walking. She stopped walking, however, when Hoseki asked if she was going to help find it. “Well I’m certainly not going to let you find it on your own. You’ve been having zero luck with it thus far. Plus, technically my job of watching you doesn’t end until you’re out of this building and off of school grounds.”

Hoseki perked up as he chased behind Chie. He followed her all the way up to the rooftop and the two began to search for the wallet. The rooftop was covered in leaves, which Chie lamented to herself. She shouldn’t have been so keen to try and match the wits of Mother Nature. Nevertheless, it was apparent that the wallet was not on top of the school. With a decisive wind ninjutsu Chie brushed the leaves off of the rooftop. She then led Hoseki down to the storage area.

As expected, since the school was officially closed the storage area had a lock on it. Not like that was going to stop Chie Saegahara, however. She took one of the buttons off of her hat and used the safety pin off of it to unlock the door. For a ninja academy, security sure was lax. Once inside the shed, Chie and Hoseki searched around. Hoseki was about to give up when Chie waved a small wallet with a cartoon character plastered on the side of it. Her smile rejuvenated the young boy.
(Find (X): 5/5)

“So why did the other kids steal your wallet?” Chie asked as she took Hoseki across the street of the academy to an ice cream shop. She got a chocolate and liechi ice cream cone while Hoseki bought a single scoop of vanilla. Chie had no idea why he didn’t want to indulge since she was the one fronting the cash, but she wasn’t going to argue it. His eyes looked down at the ice cream. Chie was almost done with hers before the kid even took one bite.

“They don’t really like me.” The boy said shyly. Chie scoffed. “Well I think that part is obvious.” She said as she started to bite into her cone. “Why don’t they like you, however? Did you do something to deserve it?” She asked through her eating. “Sort of. It wasn’t so much what I did, so much as what I didn’t do.” Hoseki said. The top scoop of his ice cream now melted enough so that it slid off of his cone. Chie instinctively bent down and caught it with her right hand. She then placed it awkwardly on the top of his cone before the two looked at each other, and then Hoseki threw the cone away.

“I’m not sure if you’re aware, but classrooms are graded based on the success of the overall class.” Hoseki began. He still refused to make eye contact with Chie. “If the whole class does well, then the good teachers want to teach it. If the class is seen as bad, then no one wants to be near them. I was part of a really good class, but I wasn’t good. I held everyone back, and that impacted our overall grade. The other kids hated me for it, and I got beat on a lot until I was switched to class 2-F.”

Hoseki laughed to himself. “It’s funny. Most people fear being put into that class. I think that was the only thing that saved me.” He said. Chie was heartbroken. She never thought that kids who slipped through the cracks were treated with such disdain. This boy was good. He didn’t deserve all of the struggles he endured. Chakra flowed through her hand as she patted the boy on the back. He wouldn’t notice initially what occurred, but in time he would.

“Well, I’ll say that you’re pretty awesome in my book. You pay attention in class, help clean up, and you wallet is adorable.” Chie said with a grin. Hoseki looked up and smiled before he looked back at his hands. “Thank you.” He said. “I know I’m not a good ninja yet though. I can’t even throw a kunai.” He said.

“What was that?!” Chie jolted up. The kid was alarmed as he repeated himself. Chie took the boy by the arm and brought him over to the training grounds of the academy. She then gave him a kunai and instructed him to throw it at the target. Hoseki lined up his shot, threw it, and the dagger missed. Chie sighed as she picked out three kunai and threw them all at the same time. All three lined up the target.

“You didn’t miss a single time!” Hoseki said shocked. “And you don’t focus enough when you throw your kunai.” The girl responded. She then took out another kunai and placed it in the boy’s arm. She then stood behind him as she placed her hand over the boy’s own which held the weapon. She got him to stand properly as she used her arm to direct how the kunai should be thrown. “When you throw a weapon, there’s nothing else in the world besides you and your target. You can’t afford to miss. You miss, and someone dies. It’s your job to make sure no one does.” She said softly to him, a piece of wisdom from her own life mantras. Hoseki synced his breath with Chie’s as he lined up his shot. He focused intently as he threw the kunai, and the target was pierced right in the center.

“Excellent!” Chie said cheerfully as she gave the boy a high five. She then gave the boy another kunai as she declared, “Now do it two hundred more times.” Hoseki’s jaw dropped. Chie continued. “I’m serious. My mom taught me that in order to have anything down to an absolute science that doesn’t come second nature to you is to practice the action two hundred times. If you do this, then you will never mess up again.” She stated. Hoseki sighed as he lined up his shot. Before he fired, however, he looked back to Chie. “Will you stay with me?” He asked. Chie smiled. “Always.”
(Target Practice)

Chie was almost late to work today. Hoseki took till the late hours to finish his two hundred kunai throws. When she got to the teacher’s longue she found a soup bowl and filled it with coffee. She wasn’t sure if it would be enough, but it was her best bet. The other teacher’s went wide eyed as the teenage girl walked by with a giant bowl of steaming coffee. Chie sipped along, however, as she made her way to the classroom.

The students were not as alarmed by her presence the second time. They trickled in and returned to their assigned seating. Hoseki was the last student to show up. His hands were covered in bandages to stop the pain of the blisters which formed from last night’s training exercise. The two exchanged similar looks of absolute exhaustion. Neither would have blamed the other for calling out. But both were glad that they had the other.

Chie’s class resumed like normal. She began by reviewing the notes on ninjutsu that she gave yesterday, followed by challenging the students on their homework. As expected, only half of the class did their homework. Hoseki was one of the few who did, which surprised Chie considering how late they were out. There were a few mistakes on his paper, but a genuine attempt was made. Chie smiled as she corrected his wrong answers. When no one was looking, she then ruffled his hair a little.

Chie’s lecture ended on the prospect of bloodline ninjutsu. She explained how the use of a kekkei genkai in short was like an automatic korabo technique with oneself. The teenage girl then went on to say that since that is automatic, however, and that Chie had to merge her ninjutsu on her own, that she was then clearly superior to any ninja who relied on their bloodline. By that point, however, the bell rang and even Hoseki was ready to leave. Chie sighed as she got through the day. No more late nights.
(Substitute Teacher 4/4)

Chie was heading out when she noticed Hoseki, once again, not heading home. She sighed at what it could be this time, when her eyes widened. On the side of the ninja academy, in big graffiti letters, were the words, “No one likes a rat Hoseki.” Chie immediately looked down at her student, who was doing his best to scrub off the ink. Chie immediately pulled him away.

“This one’s on the house…” Chie gritted her teeth. Her eyes were laser focused as handseals flew. Hoseki wanted to stop her, but he knew better than to get in the way when her eyes were like that. All of Chie’s rage formed in this ninjutsu. She was tired of this kid being picked on by these other kids. She was tired of him being seen as different. So what if he didn’t have the same skill as everyone else? Was he not entitled to learn more? She screamed.

As a Korabo master, Chie fused the propelling wind and water manipulation technique to fire off a jet of water. This wet the picture, but still the ink remained. Again she used the combination. Such a task would normally be impossible for a ninja without the use of clones. Chie, however, was no common ninja. She was able to temporarily allow herself to utilize more ninjutsu at the same time. And now was the time when she needed her powers.

The graffiti drizzled off after the second technique. Chie kept the technique pouring until it all streamed off. Her eyes never wavered. Her body was tense, but it could have done ninjutsu for days if she needed to. She wasn’t going to ever allow her student to clean up after these kids. It was time for her to turn the tables.
(Graffiti Removal 3/3. Ninjutsu Alchemy: B-ranked custom learned. Building your own design: D-ranked)

“Come on.” Chie growled. Hoseki was too scared to move until Chie moved several feet away and took a deep breath. “We’re going to find the kids responsible.” She declared. Chie went along her war path as Hoseki timidly followed. The two walked continuously until they saw a pack of boys pushing each other like typical jocks. They perked up when they saw Hoseki, but then hesitated when they saw the look in Chie’s eyes.

“This ends now.” Chie demanded. She then shoved Hoseki in front of her. “One on one, transformation technique. You can choose whoever you want and Hoseki, with his superior ninjutsu, will beat you and then it’s over. I don’t want to hear about any more stolen wallets, see any more graffiti. This ends now, or I swear to you I will end it myself.” The gang broke into laughter and accepted the challenge. They then selected their leader, aka a balding teenager, to be their representative. He used the transformation technique to turn into a bull. Hoseki immediately wanted to run.

“Just trust me. Turn into a bull and charge. Don’t hesitate, don’t look back. You do what I say, and you’ll never have to deal with this gang again.” Chie whispered as she bent down and lowered to his level. She then stood behind him as Hoseki took the front. His arms hesitantly rose to his chest as he performed the transformation handseal. Behind her back, Chie formed the seal as well. She then used the connection she established with him to pass along her korabo, so that when he transformed into a bull, the technique was enhanced. It was then that the two bulls charged and sure enough, the hoseki bull knocked the other bull into the air as the balding teen reformed and fell to the ground.
(Graffiti Vengeance 2/2)

The crowd was silence. No laughing, no anger, just indistinct mumbling. As the leader got back up, he took a knife out of his pocket. Hoseki turned back into a boy as Chie darted in between the boy and the fiend. Arcane symbols glowed in her hands which immediately intimidated everyone present. “A deal is a deal. This is over. Now leave.” She said, sterner than she had ever been. The balding teen looked her dead in the eyes, but then broke away in fear. He bolted, and then the group followed. Chie broke off the symbols when Hoseki hugged her.

“Thank you.” He said. Chie recovered from the surprise and smiled as she gently brushed his hair. She then reverted back to character as she sighed and peeled him off of her. “What are you some little creep? Do you really think that you can get the girl just because you stood up to your bully problem?” She said sharply. Hoseki was stunned silent, but then giggled as Chie also broke into laughter.

User Image With now that her mind and spirit had been expanded, San felt as if she were capable to learning much more than ever before. Dipping into the library for a moment she decided to read up on some genjutsu.

(Denkou Hachidori no Jutsu [ Electric Hummingbirds Technique ], Kasumi Juusha no Jutsu [ Mist Servant Technique ], Mougo Mukuro no Jutsu [ False Body Technique ], Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu [ Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique ], Magen: Kokuni Arazu no Jutsu [ Demonic Illusion: False Surrounding Technique ], Kyouchikutou no Jumon [ Spell of the Oleander ], Mougo Shibaku no Jutsu [ False Strike Technique ], Ataeru Kanjoo no Jutsu [ Inflict Emotion Technique ], Kurayami no Oii [ Shroud of Darkness ], Nemuri [ Sleep ], Kimitsushitsu Wana no Jutsu [ Airtight Chamber Trap ], Niseshi no Gijutsu [ Art of Fake Death ], Nehan Shouja no Jutsu [ Temple of Nirvana Technique ], Hitokiri Jutsu: Tsuuda Tsuchi [ Assassination Technique: Crushing Earth ]) [-17 training coupons]

Now that she was fairly studied upon the principles of genjutsu San knew how to manipulate the illusory arts as well. In effect she could learn to make alterations to her genjutsu in a way that would allow them to look different then they were. Starting with something small, she worked on theorizing on how to change to the humming bird illusion so that it would be identical in appearance to a raiton technique of hers that also was named after the bird. After thinking through the process she would be able to change the genjutsu to reflect her new aesthetic. [Denkou Hachidori relearned]

After that there was one other technique which she wished to retrain. Hitokiri Jutsu: Tsuuda Tsuchi. While already an effective genjutsu, it relied around the fake imagery of doton. [1/4] San however, did not possess the capacity for the use of doton. A fact which might lead some opponents to discovering the false reality of the technique. To avoid that, she needed to learn how to use the technique in a way that seemed to fit within her own arsenal. [2/4] Thinking through what the technique did she remembered the aspects of it. First one would seemed to vanish into a doton based travel technique. Then they would reappear only to cause doton to rise up around the target and trap it. [3/4] Knowing all this she deduced a plan. By swapping the element to raiton she could make it seem as if she rapidly traveled through a bolt of lightning. Then it would appear that arcs of binding lightning rose up around the target to crush them. This would make a much more convincing illusion. [4/4] [Hitokiri Jutsu: Tsuuda Tsuchi relearned.

With that training taken care of San, would temporarily depart from the Academy to train her body at the dojo. She needed to be in top form if she was going to be the leader that this village needed. [Exit]

Chie walked into the academy with her head held high. She was particularly proud of the way that the issue with Hoseki ended. She managed to raise her student’s confidence, and it was unlikely that gang was going to mess with him anytime soon. Overall, it was an incredible success for the young Saegahara girl. It certainly made coming to work today easier.

Her students trickled in like rain drops. Hoseki was the first one into the room, and his smile was warm when he looked at Chie. The girl smiled back before she scowled and rolled her eyes. The other students entered the classroom, and soon it was time to begin the lecture. Chie was able to speak to her class as a whole before the first bell rang. She chatted informally to them, but once class began, she went back into her teacher persona.

Chie expanded on the concepts of ninjutsu she had been instructing in her students. She was pushing the envelope on their scope of ninjutsu. It frustrated her that the academy did not offer any lessons on the power of korabo ninjutsu. Chie had to discover it on her own. Had she not, then maybe she wouldn’t be as good as she was now. Then again, she was a master of ninjutsu. If one venue didn’t work, she would find another.

The final half an hour of the day ended with Chie bringing up her students to have them practice ninjutsu. The transformation technique and basic clone were two techniques she had every student practice on stage. She then had them work in groups in order to combine the two techniques through the use of korabo. Two students succeeded, but seven students, including Hoseki, were stumped. Just as she was about to have them try again, the bell rang.

“Should I study it at home?” Hoseki said concerned as the other students left. Chie waited for them to leave as she looked back at the boy. “You can do whatever you want. I just know that the only way you’ll succeed is if you don’t stop.” She said with a shrug of her arms. Hoseki sighed as he took out the scroll from his backpack and sat at his desk. While he did so, she noticed that one of her windows had a crack in it. Was it always there? Did she do it during her initial day? She didn’t recall her actions hitting a window, but it wasn’t out of the question. Regardless, she had to fix it.

“Stay here, and if anyone attacks scream for help.” Chie ordered. The issues with the bullies were supposed to be resolved, but Chie wasn't about to take any chances. Hoseki nodded as the girl left the classroom. She exited the building and moved to the back where the shed was. The lock was just recently placed on it. Did this school not appreciate that ninjas go here? It took her a matter of minutes to pick the lock with her bobby pin. She slid the lock off and scavenged the shed. Eventually she found a piece of glass to replace the fraction cracked.

Chie moved back to her classroom to see Hoseki still studying. She moved over to the window as her free hand formed handseals by her side. “Don’t panic when you hear a loud crash.” She instructed. Once her arm was coated in a glove of water, Chie punched out the glass. She then slid water covered hand around the rim to make sure all of the glass pieces were gone. Once they were, she got to work.

Chie gently slid the piece of glass into the slot. She worked diligently on making sure that it would not allow any access heat or cold from the outside in. The process was surprisingly painless considering the fear she had of it. Once the glass was in, she smiled at her work. She really was doing a good job keeping this classroom in shape.

“Break time!” Chie snapped as she grabbed the korabo training scroll from Hoseki. She then forced him to join her out of the academy and across the street for more ice cream. Chie was about to order something when her eyes locked onto a distressed shop owner. Apparently the cheerleaders they had to pose as entertainment cancelled at the last minute and one of the village elders was reported to come here in mere minutes. As the balding man was in the middle of his crisis, Chie slammed her hand on his counter.

“Mister Ice Cream guy! You’re in luck. The master of ninjutsu in Konoha, along with her pupil, will substitute in for your promotional needs for this famous guy.” She said with a wide smile and beaming confidence. She then looked back at Hoseki, who looked absolutely speechless with freight. “B-b-but cheerleadering is a girl thing.” The young boy said. “First of all that is sexist! I will not allow bigotry in our out of my classroom.” Chie said sternly as her finger was raised to give him a warning. She then waved the finger as she gave the boy a wink. “Second of all if you’re afraid of being you, don’t be! You know the transformation technique. Take the form of a cute girl and pretend to be her for a bit.” Hoseki was torn, but he knew better to argue. He took a deep breath as he invoked the transformation technique. He transformed into a teenage girl with long black hair, a cheerleading outfit with a logo that matched the store’s brand, and glasses.

“You look so cute!” Chie said as she pinched the cheeks of Hoseki’s transformation. Unfortunately that caused the boy to lose focus and revert back to his form. “Miss Saegahara!” Hoseki whined. “Sorry! You’re right, mission first.” Chie said. She then smirked as she performed the technique herself. She made herself wear the same outfit Hoseki designed for his impersonation. It was the moment Hoseki reformed his transformation that the famous elder walked into the building. Chie led the cheerleading antics. Hoseki followed somewhat Chie’s lead, in a way which Chie was honestly surprised with. The two were able to wow and win over the heart of the elder, and the moment he left the store owner gave them both free ice cream.
(Promote a Thing: D-ranked)

Chie got to her classroom bright and early today. It surprised her that she was so excited for her next day of work. She certainly wasn’t this excited when she was a student at the academy. That particularly surprised her since she was the top of her class in the best class at the school. How could it be that the remedial class was what she was enjoyed the most? It baffled her, but deep in her heart she knew why.

It was mere moments she stepped into her classroom that Hoseki appeared. He sat at his desk and immediately pulled out the scroll for korabo techniques. Chie wondered why the kid had so much dedication while he was with her. Was he just being lazy before? That didn’t feel like the right answer. No, it feels more like this boy was just allowed to slip through the cracks all of his life. He’s not the best student, and because he doesn’t get the information immediately the class mostly forgot about him. Perhaps it was because Chie refused to forget about him that he was doing so well. Then again, she could just be reading too much into it.

The other students came in full force. By now the other eight were starting to get a little rowdy. They were no longer intimidated by the sight of Chie alone. The moment any of them tried to talk over the teacher, however, Chie started to form handseals. Usually the sight of handseals were enough to cause the class to pipe down. They all knew that their teenage teacher was not one to bluff.

At the end of the day, it was once again time for Korabo training. Chie had the students break into pairs of twos. Today, however, the girl worked directly with Hoseki. She molded the transformation technique the moment Hoseki made his clone. Chie’s mastery of Korabo made this child’s play. In a puff of smoke a sword fell upon the ground. Hoseki smiled widely as he picked up the tool. When the bell rang, he actually wanted to head home to show his mom and dad what he made. Chie nodded as he headed off with the class.
(Substitute Teacher: C-ranked)

Chie took a deep breath as she looked over the side of the building. She then walked over to the ice cream shop and sighed when she saw the vandalizing which had occurred. There was a huge graffiti message on the glass of the window. “Chie Saegahara. We finish this tonight.” Well, at least they spelled her name right. She sighed at the idea of having to face off against children. But, they couldn’t be allowed to keep making graffiti. Regardless, she knew she was going to have to clean this off.

Thankfully the ice cream shop owner did not blame her at her for the graffiti incident. He offered to clean it up himself, but Chie refused him. This was her problem. She borrowed a sponge as well as some gloves. Once her bucket was filled with soapy water she got to work.

Chie used those elbows as she cleaned off the glass. The scrubbing felt like it was taking forever. She was tempted more than once to use a ninjutsu. In the end, however, she decided that she was going to solve this without the use of ninja arts. She may be a master of ninjutsu, but she was also a master of cleaning and all things proper and womanlike. Her mother certainly drilled it into her.
(Graffiti Removal: D-ranked)

After she cleaned up the graffiti, Chie walked over to where the group of misfits were. Could they pick someplace more cliché than a one way alley? She sighed when the gang revealed themselves. They lacked tack. Finally, their leader stood right in front of Chie as he tried to use his height to intimidate her. Chie didn’t even bother to make eye contact with him.

“Things were perfect before you. Now you done messed everything up.” The balding teen growled. Chie sighed. “Yep. That’s what I do. Run my mouth and put bad guys in their place.” She sneered. “Speaking of which…” She added as she formed handseals. The man quickly did as well, but before he got the chance Chie was already finished. With her Korabo she combined her wind and water punching technique and slammed her fist straight into the man’s jaw in an uppercut. The man literally flew fifty feet in the air before he fell down over a hundred feet away. “Anyone else?” Chie asked. The gang fled, and Chie laughed. That was the easiest fight of her life.

Since it was a day off at the academy, Chie did not have to teach her class. However, she still arrived for the purpose of doing a training exercise. She had instructed Hoseki to arrive by the side of the building. As she had guessed, the boy was there before she was. When she saw him, her hands rose to her chest and she performed the special shadow clone seal. Four clones of her formed as they each then walked in a line toward the boy.

"Woah." He said wide eyed. All five Chie's smiled. "Yep! This is a demonstration for you to truly understand the power of ninjutsu." Chie said as the center teenager nodded to her dopplegangers. The four moved to separate corners of the open field. The initial Chie moved forward a bit just to pull Hoseki of the range of the fire.

"This is where things will get really fun!" The girl said with a wink. She stood in front of him as the first and second Chie, who stood diagonally from each other, formed handseals. The clone closer to Chie and Hoseki finished her seals and shot off a barrage of minature fireballs toward the adjacent clone. That Chie then finished her signs as a slew of windmill shurikens composed entirely of water shot back. The two collided in the center as the water shuriken sliced them through the air like butter.

Before they got any further, however, the Chie parallel to the fire Chie at the far corner finished her seals. A barrage of stone spikes rose from the ground and intercepted the shurikens. The weapons disbursed harmlessly into water as the final Chie clone finished her signs. A charged beam of concentrated lightning fired off straight across toward the Chie which formed the earthern rising spears. The beam effortlessly broke through the spikes as the beam then flew off toward the castor. Just before it collided, however, the real Chie shielded the clone with a tornado made of wind. It was then that all four clones,as well as the tornado, disbursed.
(Intermediate Training: C-ranked)

"Amazing Miss Saegahara." The boy said spellbound. Chie smiled as she then rolled her eyes and sighed for appearances. "Excuse me, but we're clearly not in school, so right now I am just Chie." She said with a shake of her head. She then moved over to the side of the building and sat in its shade. Hoseki followed, and knelt next to her. "Also, that doesn't come from just being konoha's greatest ninjutsu master. In order for me to truly be the best, I need to meditate constantly in order to increase my chakra reserves. That's why I called you in today. So that you could practice as well." She said.

At first, Chie thought Hoseki followed. She went into a meditative stance, which involved her clearing her head and practicing her handseals. The meditation allowed her to traverse the vast richness of her mind while her body was in the continual practice of forming handseals. To her, this was second nature. She couldn't imagine how anyone could mess this up.

Sure enough though, Hoseki was confused. Chie peaked open and eye and saw him confused on where to even begin. She sighed as she moved herself to sit in front of him. She then had him form all of the handseals he knew off the bat. Once she saw him do so, she had him continue it until he felt a pattern with them. That was part of the getting within meditation.

The second part was clearing his head. Chie instructed him to follow her breathing. She had him slower his heart rate through relaxing his natural tension. She guided him to the blank space where his mind began. The eternal extension of his mind where meditation was most powerful. Chie had him go into there and smiled when he became lost to his own rhythm. Chie then ventured off to her.
(Intermediate Training: Meditation C-ranked)

Her body practiced handseals while her eyes were shut. They began with both hands in front of her torso practicing the seals. As Chie relaxed more, however, her arms broke apart, and each hand performed their own seals. This was how she was able to best perform handseals. Chie was so naturally adapt at ninjutsu that using both hands to perform them was no longer natural to her.

Her mind zoned out as she continued her seals. At first she felt weightless, but then she felt herself pulled along by the own river of her chakra. It was a glorious sensation, to be connected with one's own chakra. Chie feels the most content when she is her meditation. There's nothing but her and her connection to herself here.

After the ride ends, Chie is able then to find herself into the fabrics of her own mind. It's not so much a landscape, so much as an acarnic assortment of visuals and memories which float around. In her meditation, Chie is able to recall and remember everything which has transpired in her life. It helps that she has a photographic memory, so all it takes is a moment to recall it all.

Chie continuously practiced her handseals. She lost track of time. When she opened her eyes, she found that Hoseki was sleeping. She shook her head and smiled as she stood up. It was better to leave him there.
(Intermediate Training: Meditation: C-ranked)

Chie wasn't content with her training yet, however. She was sure that she wasn't reaching her highest potential. No, if she wanted to make herself stronger, than she had to strengthen herself where it truly mattered. And that was her specialty, Korabo.

Chie focused her abilities so that she was able to utilize more Korabo. It was a finite skill that took a bit of power to activate. Still, it was required in order to do what she anticipated. Arcane symbols formed right by her left and right hand, which were by her sides. They were flat and parallel to her knuckles as she started to mold chakra through them. When the molding was complete, Chie brought her two hands together which brought the two symbols to collide in front of her torso. This caused flamming, birds of lightning to fly into the sky. They reached their maximum altitude before they came crashing down on Chie's location. If they collided, then the flames and lightning would easily put Chie in the Hospital. Thankfully, the ninjutsu master was not about to let that happen.

Her arms extended away from each other as two more disc were formed. Chakra was once again beginning to mold. She focused herself intently on her molding. The fire-lightning birds were falling fast. Just as they approached ten feet, Chie brought both arms above her head as the chakra circles followed their path. They combined above her as a giant cloud shield consumed her. This cloud shield was infused with more water, greatly increasing its defenses. The shield stood blow for blow against the strikes. The strikes continued until they ended and the shield dissipated. While she was deeply breathing, she then smiled when her tense body relaxed. It was then that she turned to Hoseki who had his jaw practically to the ground.

"Well, that's today's lesson!" She said with her right hand extended; thumbs up and a wink.

Another day of work! Chie felt it routine now to head over as soon as the sun rose. She was now greeted by the other teachers of the academy, who were all impressed with the progress she made with the remedial students. She honestly wasn't sure how to react to them. On one hand, they were her collegues, and Chie had worked with the best of them not so long ago back when she was a student. On the other hand, now that she was working here, she had a more tainted view of them. The students they didn't like or would bring down their grades were relegated to her class. They chose to keep the students they could do the most with. How was that fair? And yet, she couldn't think too much about it. Her students were about to arrive.

Once again Hoseki was first. He was still bright eyed over the possibilities of what would be discussed. It lifted Chie's spirits somewhat. Of course, she couldn't show that. It would be too out of character. So instead she crossed her arms and observed everyone else who trickled in with a stern look. It was funny though how she recognized them all by sheer looks. She no longer needed to go over their names when she saw them.

After the class entered, the lectures began. As normal, Chie covered ninjutsu. She began with a recap of the lectures she went over the previous week. For today's topic, however, she focused on ninjutsu elements. Chie wanted to address how each element is special in what it brings to ninjutsu. Of course, given that Chie was a master of ninjutsu, she could of course use all of the elements. It wouldn't be a proper day at work if she didn't boast her own skill. But! She did have a fun activity for them.

Chie handed them all a thin piece of paper. She told them to channel their chakra nonchalantly through the paper. She then explained that, depending on the results, that the paper would tell them what their elemental affinities were. Chie found these papers on one of the many times she broke into the shed. She figured that no one would miss them. It surprised her when Hoseki's paper did all five of the elemental signals. Could he also be... No, there was no way. Chie allowed them to leave when the bells rang. Hoseki smiled as he left, and she allowed herself to return the sign of affection. Once they left, Chie went to the rooftop and overlooked the school. She saw Hoseki run off. Was it possible...

User Image As San walked through the streets she wondered what to do about the mission she had given out to Kanzaki. As he hadn't returned she was unsure of whether or not the request had been delivered correctly. That was an uncertainty she did not wish to let linger. Entering into the area of the Academy grounds she stopped to let some students cross her path only to by chance look up and spot the young Chie upon the roof. "Yooooooooooo! Hey Red, c'mon down for a sec!" Her voice carried across the area loudly, no doubt reaching the girl even up on the roof of the building. Projecting like that was certainly a talent of hers. Some might have found it unnerving but for most it was probably just the sign of a leader.

A strange yet familiar voice called out to her. Why did she know it? Her head turned to the direction of the voice. It was that secretary Lady. The important one. Chie recalled liking her. The recollection brought a smile to her face as she leaped down. Wind chakra was used to minimalize the impact on the ground. She landed on one knee and one bent leg. A gentle breeze swept through the air. As Chie stood up, she straightened out and then bowed fully. “Good afternoon!” She said cheerfully. Chie had no reason to dislike this woman. She showed power and clearly knew genius when she saw it. Her smile became wide as she placed her hands on her hips. “You said that you would eventually show up. Do you like what you see?” She asked boastfully. In a week’s time she managed to get the most difficult class in the academy to process and more easily utilize ninjutsu. The academy was spotless of glass, sand, and leaves. She was beyond proud of herself. Hopefully she did enough to prove to this girl why she was the best.
