Kale kissed her forehead at her statement, but his attention was on something else now. No one else was aware of it just yet, but he was since he could sense another mind close by...very close by. "Talon, it seems we have unwanted company, the professional kind." he was aware neither Echo or Kaida would know what he meant, they haven't encountered such talk from him nor have they encountered a hunter yet.

Talon frowned and held his hand out to Echo. "Come here." he stated softly. He wasn't about to let his second mate get hurt or worse...but it has been a while since he fought a hunter...maybe this one will put up more of a fight...not likely...Kale's power with his own elements...yea...the hunter wasn't likely to shoot off a gun if Kale deemed it fit.

Shaking off the fact that Kale hadn't told her he loved her too, she focused on the comments. She didn't know exactly what that meant, but she knew enough about Kale that something was wrong. She crawled away from his lap so he could stand, a trace of worry crossing her mind.

Kaida was protected from whatever it was, and felt safe. She was going to respond when a man walked through the door. He had an odor to him, something different. Kaida's alarm rose at the sight of knives, and she wanted to spring out and claw him; but she held onto Kale tighter then, pressing her face against his chest and staring at him with one eye. Like most women, she had the power of a death stare. Sparkles trickled on her fingertips so low she didn't know if Talon would even know, but she was ready nonetheless--her powers were on edge as if she would need them. Perhaps this was part of controlling them as well. They went from her fingers and barely made the slightest mark on Kale's clothing, the shocks not even as electric as a shock from sliding down a playground slide. She looked toward Echo briefly, wondering if she took this human scent to a taste. But this human had a peculiar smell. Was he related to this one? Perhaps, but she couldn't tell as Kale had retreated from her mind once more. Her favorite time was when their mind's were in sync, and until they were alone she was afraid this would become unaccomplished.

Kale growled and glanced at Alex. "Shut up human. Be glad I didn't make you walk into the trap you set for us. I could make you kill yourself here and now if I so desire."

Talon, however, was not as kind to Alex. He growled dangerously, stepping in front of Echo. "Alexander Steel. I knew it. You were a hunter from the start. As soon as I heard your name, I was aware of who you were. Be advised, you will live longer when you don't threaten whats mine." as he spoke, the fire in the fire place flickered a few times before it flew out of the fireplace and circled around Alex before resting in Talon's hands.

Talon smirked slightly, one of the fire balls flying beneath Alex's feet, burning him and not the floor. "Care to make another remark about my mate?" he questioned darkly.

Kale just about jumped at the man as well, but instead forced Alex to raise his knife and jam it into his leg. No human could fight off his control.

Kaida's hand tensed up into a fist, her knuckles even whiter than before. She sat up slowly, prepared if Kale or herself needed to get up. She wouldn't fight unless needed, but the shocks in her body became slightly more frequent, her eyes turning white with power.

Alex laughed, "sure she is great now in your eyes, but what about when you cant protect her? There will be a day when you aren't around, Echo is too timid to fight for herself. When someone other than me attacks her and you are left with a dead mate what are you going to do?" Alex kept his expression up, he was waiting to be attacked.

Talon didn't answer the man, instead, he let the fire blaze to life and reach Alex's waist. "I won't let you live for long so don't worry about what happens to Echo, she is a vampire, not a human. Timid belongs to humans, fierce belongs to the vampires. This is a fact." he stated before turning and guiding Echo towards the stairs to take her to his bedroom.

Kale stayed where he was, watching the man burn from the waist down, with a small smirk at Kaida's statement, he nodded in agreement. Their bond was strengthening with just the presence of a threat, that much he could feel, and she was unconsciously helping it along at the moment.
