How Ryugi could hear a metallic arm scraping along the ground with a screaming Norse half-god in his face was impressive. It was too bad this fight was taking place in an alternate reality - John would want to ask him about his hearing prowess after the match.

As his arm slammed back into place, it arrested his forward motion, keeping him steady as Ryugi tossed his sword into the air, dug his feet into the ground and wound up for a powerful blow. John had seen - no, John had delivered many a blow of these caliber - so he had intricate knowledge of what was happening next.

As Ryugi swung forward, John would use their intimate distance to quickly hook his fist onto Ryugi's right hand, leaping straight into the air as he did, keeping his own arm straight in the process. Ryugi's own foward force would sling-shot John's heavy frame around as he did, John releasing Ryugi's fist at the appropriate moment to land heavily on his feet behind the boy. All Ryugi's explosive punch would hit would be the ground, having been forced down by John's weight.

He would then snake his left arm around the boy's neck, the metallic prosthesis digging into the younger man's throat as he would be pulled back, John's knee pressed into him to make him arc his back - pointing his chest straight at the sword spinning above them. No doubt the boy would have tried to catch it after throwing it, not wanting to be parted from his weapon for too long.

To make sure he didn't try anything too funny, John decided to dump some more power into him - his whole body would flash before he electrocuted Ryugi with enough energy to power a standard block of houses.

Hearing an arm scraping along the ground for a seasoned fighter trained to monitor his surroundings under all circumstances was not very hard, even with a man screaming in your face, which was a standard part of combat, and the arm moving through the air should have been possible to hear once the man stopped screaming, unless he'd continued his scream for the entirety of the arm's return, which WOULD act as a sensible deterrent to Ryugi's senses. However, his actions did not seem to indicate this... Regardless of what could or should have happened, things were still moving forward, or up in the case of John.

As John went up, Ryugi went down. However, unwilling to turn his back to such a ferocious foe, Ryugi suddenly pulsed with energy as his attack strategy shifted tremendously...

Quote:
Supernova - Fires massive ball of flames about the size of a car at opponent from high in the air with Ryugi guiding the blast with a powerful punch – Ryugi’s favorite finishing move. *After a certain level of energy use the name is changed to Hypernova, and the blast is far stronger.*

The energy that Ryugi had used to charge his arm with power was suddenly increased, and the energy ballooned outward in a highly improvised Supernova attack. John wouldn't have expected something so crazily outlandish, especially when Ryugi himself was at the heart of the pulse of thunderous energy...

User Image

With a resounding explosion, John would be rocked by searing heat and light, hot enough to melt the ground below it, if the explosion hadn't blasted a huge crater into the ground below, sending massive chunks of earth into the man, and enough sheer concussive force to send a person backwards and UPWARDS several dozen feet. The massive detonation would activate after Ryugi's arm had been released, and before the man could grasp Ryugi, making sure that the massive man would take the full brunt of the attack. Exposed skin would be torn, burned, and blackened, and the man's body would be hammered by debris radiating from the center of the blast. It would be akin to being struck by a truck, and sent through a blast furnace, before being pelted by a barrage of angry sledgehammers.

However, Ryugi would not be spared from the attack's damage as well. Under normal circumstances the blast would have radiated out from Ryugi, preventing him from most of the attack's damage. But this improvised use would have him feeling much of the detonation himself, albeit different from John, who would still have the rougher side of the stick.

Ryugi's forward momentum would not be completely extinguished, which meant that even as the blast exploded, he would be sent into the air in the exact opposite direction as John, out of his reach, but still enduring a very large bit of damage himself. The concussion would rock his body, his bones feeling the sting as his organs felt the wave as well. The physical force would cause cuts to Ryugi's exposed face, even as he struggled to flip his body around in midair to land as safely as possible...

((Black in the Burn, by Masterplan))

One second everything was peaches and cream. He was matching the boy stroke for stroke, it seemed - a fairly even match so far.

But then he was send spinning into the air. Pain enveloped him, his skin seared from his chest, the left side of his face blown apart from the force of the blast. He careened through the air, hurtling at increasing speed, before he finally hit the ground.

BOOM!

A dust cloud of some magnitude had been sent up by his body hitting the ground, rubbling collapsing around him as he lay still for a moment...

...Before he coughed.

Sparks scattered from him as he rolled over, groaning in pain as he spat out some rocks which had entered his mouth. He hadn't been hit by something that hard in a long, long time. A part of him, the survival aspect, was screaming at him. For the gods' sakes, dont do this. You have family, children that you need to reconcile with. You need to settle things with Maximos, you need to confront your demons...you have so much more to live for!

This annoying bug of a voice was quashed as readily as it appeared in his brain, being replaced by something that sounded like something that lived in the dark, huddled in the muck and the mire, something that hissed when breathing.

Kill.

His eyes flew open then. There was no more iris within them - they were pure balls of energy, spewing forth arcs of static which tore through the ground around him. Slowly he pushed himself to his feet, his arms hanging loose before him as he staggered for a moment. His entire front was covered in burnt, charred skin, the left side of his face unrecogniseable. The pain was insane...

...But then, John was used to being insane.

Balling his fists, Tomorrow threw back his head and unleashed a roar that shook the entire ground around him, making the rubble tremble in its crater, making the weapons strewn around the ground vibrate about, clinking and clanging against each other. Above him, the clouds in the sky parted. The dust filling the air around the two warriors would dissapaite, and all that would be left was the noise...

Of rolling thunder.

John's Bag 'O Tricks
- Berserker -
Aesir tales tell of warriors, pushed to the utmost limit on the battlefield, entering a heightened and maddened state of awareness. These are the Berserk, men who feel no pain and will fight till dead from massive amounts of fatal wounds or immense exhaustion. It is said that even loss of limbs will not stop them, that they can fight on even after being torn to shreds, dying only from extreme exhaustion causing their heart to stop dead, or their bodies to be drained completely of blood. Their strength is unbeleivable, as they no longer limit themselves to preserve their bodies. The tales tell of men with broken bones from their muscles snapping them under their own power...

Static flashed off him now, the arcs blowing rocks apart as they travelled along the ground, searching for something conductive. He lowered his arms, his charred chest heaving as he breathed, smoke from his cooked lungs coming up from his torso to ease from his mouth. His mechanical arm sparked and stuttered, the plates making it loose now, but it somehow held. When he pulled his foot from the ground, it was if he was pulling it from broken glass, the bedrock around him cracking as he stepped from the crater and began to stalk forward.

There was no rush. His prey was not far. He could smell his blood.

Ryugi soared through the air and slammed into the ground, rolling until he could get to his feet, skidding the rest of the way, shielding his head from falling pieces of earth with his armored gauntlets. A pained exhalation and gasp followed as the pain from the blow suddenly rushed him at once. His whole body ached from that, and his insides felt like he'd been hit by a truck. But the pain also served to keep him alert, focused. It reminded him that he was still alive, and he still had a foe to defeat.

As a surge of energy and a massive battle cry shot through the air nearly fifty plus feet away, his eyes turned to see the dust blast away from the far side of the crater to show John in his berserker state. Mouth wide, teeth bared, eyes glowing and crackling with electricity, skin blackened and burned. He'd taken a thunderous blow, and it had provoked this transformation into a mighty berserker. There was little logic in those eyes. All that would matter was defeating the foe that had stepped up to block his path.

So, that's how it's going to be...

Blood dripped from Ryugi's face from multiple small cuts from the force of the explosion, even as the spinning Ragnarok suddenly stabbed into the ground at his side, pulsing with light. It was his intention to have the weapon fall from the sky, to pierce John through the stomach as the man flew airborne, unable to dodge or change direction, but be it fate or a yearning for a more mighty battle, he had stayed the command. And now, across the field, stood the mighty Norse Berserker, ready to fight with literally everything that he had. That was it: the fully unleashed power of the Dynamo's will.

That was all that drove him now. His body didn't matter, his own safety didn't matter, all that mattered was that he fight, fight hard, and defeat the opponent he saw. Ryugi grinned. If it was a battle of willpower, of determination and resolve that the mighty Tomorrow was going for, then he would gladly oblige. The man was going all out, showing his true strength, baring his resolve to the outside world, and so would Ryugi. He would meet Tomorrow's challenge with his own power of will and determination.

Right hand snapped out and gripped the handle of Ragnarok as the blade's soul resonated within Ryugi's mind.

Master Kazamaru, allow me to assist you... Together, we will fight this monster with everything we have. If it is a battle of wills he wishes, then show him the power of our wills united...

We've never done this at this level before, Ragnarok. I don't know a proper command...

It is there in your heart, Master Kazamaru. Search your spirit, and you will know the command to allow me to help you with all that we are. Now, let us shine together!

Ryugi nodded, his grip tightening along the blade's handle as he pointed the weapon towards the mighty man, across the fifty foot distance. He could feel Ragnarok awakening as he commanded the sword to release its own power to add to his energy. Ryugi's body pulsed with light, a golden light of radiant power, the unbridled power of Ryugi's will mixed with the burning passion and shining resolve of his elements. But the final step would come as the ground under him cracked away, thunderous winds kicking up, the whole void resonating as Ryugi tapped the deepest recesses of his and Ragnarok's power before he shouted the command that cried out from his heart.

- RAGNAROK!! -

User Image

SHINE AND PROTECT THE POWER OF WILL!!

The energy release was absolutely astounding. As Ryugi's own latent powers mixed with the might of Ragnarok's energies, the two wills spiraled together, forming a mighty amalgamation of determination and unbreakable resolve. A golden aura shot up around Ryugi's body out to a radius of six feet as he felt Ragnarok's power wrap around him and energize him as well. Warm energy pulsed within him, fighting to restore him even as he stood across the field from his foe. This was the flame of Ryugi's resolve, the light of his will. In this state he had surpassed the limits of fire and flame or light and holy energies. This was his warrior's spirit, his very heroic will. Just as Tomorrow had pushed everything aside to fight to the fullest extent of his will and determination, so had Ryugi.

Energy levels were meaningless in a battle of wills.

And so, as John stomped towards Ryugi, the golden draconic warrior would stand proud and resolute, not backing down, before he too began to walk closer to the man, his aura surrounding him as he red eyes burned with the strength of his resolve.

A battle of titans was about to begin.

((Superbeast, By Rob Zombie))

Now it began.

Ryugi would now learn the true meaning of power.

Tomorrow's stride from the crater grew steadier with each step he took. As his boots touched the ground, a circumfrence of static licked across the ground, his boot prints red hot in the dirt, cooling into glass almost immediantly. His muscles, thick and hard across his chest, arm and legs, strained with the power contained within. His thick neck muscles stood out in his charred skin, much like dense cord. His eyes sparked continuously, static leaping from them to blast shrubs and grass alike into atoms, flaring into flames breifly before turing into ash which blew away in the fresh wind that had started to blow.

As he walked he raised his right arm up, his hand pointed to the sky, the clouds above him torn asunder by his mighty roar. Electricity flared from his hand, shooting into the sky with a sound like glass cracking, the snap echoing around the plain and over Ryugi's position, as John parted his lips, thin with the effort to speak, cracked and bleeding from the flash-fry he'd just been through, to barely utter two words, sparks shooting from his mouth as he spoke as if his tongue was made of pure energy.

"To me."

There was another crack, shearing glass emitting across the plains as lightning suddenly shot from the sky, blasting the ground around him into shreds. He raised both arms then, imploring the skies with a roar that shook the earth, a split suddenly running forth from between his feet, cutting an inch-long channel into the ground as the lightening finally found its target.

"TO MEEEE!!"

The lightening struck his body, his entire form enveloped for a split second in a blinding white flash of light...

...Before everything became calm once more.

John no longer had his hands up in the sky. His skin was smoking even more now, but instead of having them raised like a pieous man, they hung loose at his waist - and there was now something in them.

A hammer.

The Dark Scholar Maximos
- Moljinir - | Hand of the Thunder God -
"His eyes were wide, not because he was in shock, but because when he closed them the light was shut off - and he lived in the darkness..."- Johnathan Tomorrow

Moljinir is not the famed and deific weapon of the norse god Thor, neither is its title an exaggeration in the slightest. This massive great hammer is infact crafted from the severed arm of the thunder god's incarnation Johnathan Tomorrow. The arm, removed by Maximos was skinned, cleaned, enchanted and crafted into this grim trophy. The hammer is four and a half feet long from pommel to tip, and it weights approximately 250lbs, with a mallet style head made of single section of pillar stolen from a temple to Thor, capped on either side with a large black steel plate and reinforced through its core. Upon close inspection one can see the weapons haft is quite literally a full extended set of dull grey arm bones with leather wraps at key hand grips, and black norse style runes engraved and detailed up and down its length lending the bone the strength, durability, and conductibility of solid steel. At its end the enormous skeletal hand of the giant god is opened wide gripping the stone pillar head in unbreakable death grip.

Tomorrow's blazing eyes were fixed upon Ryugi's glowing form. He didn't move for a moment - only his chest heaved up and down, his arms moving with the heavy breath, the hammer obvious in his grip, the weight evident in his grasp. He held it like it was a part of him, like it was meant for him....and he would be right on both fronts, if he would be lucid enough to understand the notion.

Around the wrist on his left arm sat a golden circlet, loose around the massive hunk of warped, scorched metal. Static flashed up and down his arm, but for some reason stayed away from the circlet. Indeed, it was as if it was regulating the flow of power haphazardly coursing through his body....

But that didn't matter. Tomorrow finally began to move, pulling his boots up from the ground like they were stuck to it, rd hot molten rock now underfoot. He hefted the hammer in his hands for a moment, spinning the massive hammerhead like it was weightless, a tennis raquet of the gods - before he lifted it up with his right hand to place it over his shoudlers, the massive black stone resting upon his left shoulder.

Then he began to run.

Only a few steps. There was only fifty feet of distance between them, after all. Just enough for him to get up some speed, leap into the air breifly, his hands both gripping the haft of his hammer as he lifted it high -

To bring it down.

He was only about twenty feet from Ryugi.

...Nowhere near the boy.

He'd only leapt three feet into the air.

...Barely a bunny hop.

But pandemonium filled the skies as the hammer came down, static flaring around the head as the Berserker brought it down to decimate the area around them. The shockwave spread over a hundred feet in all directions, blasting massive chunks of rubble into the air, causing bedrock to shift upwards, making the landscape seem like a jagged moonscape. Their battle would now take place in a rain of rock, steel and dirt that would not stop for several minutes, on ruined, raped ground.

A god now stood before Ryugi. A god in all but spirit.

Globus - Take Me Away

Kneel in silence, alone
My spirit bares me
Pray for guidance, towards home
In darkest hours

Kneel (dream within dream we travel)
In silence (empires of faith unravel)
Alone (sealed with our virtues' treasures)
Kingdoms falling...

Power was an interesting thing indeed.

People fought and killed for it. Men spent entire lives trying to gain more of it. If there was one thing Ryugi had learned from nearly two millenniums of life, it was that power in and of itself was meaningless. Power alone could not compare with skill, and while Ryugi was indeed very powerful, he had fought all his life to try and gain more skill, to better himself so that others, his friends, his loved ones, would not have to suffer for his own inadequacies in protecting them from harm. All the power in the world meant nothing if one was not skilled in combat. Maximos had taught Ryugi that.

Jack Slate had taught Ryugi that.

Down (who's hand commands this thunder)
In silence (cry as we're torn asunder)
Alone (unto what gods do I call?)
Protect us in our..

The true meaning of power was nothing without skill.

Crackling energy surged around Ryugi, stamina flowing and coursing through his veins. The unleashed and combined energy of both Ryugi and Ragnarok was impressive, but in all, it meant nothing without the ability to wield the blade in his hand, or to manipulate the power of his will. Ragnarok... The name had many owners be they blade, power, or beliefs, but the one that was most famous was the legendary end of the world, the "Death of the Gods" of Norse Mythology. But in that same vein, Ryugi had always believed the blade and its name to stand for more than destruction. It stood for rebirth, renewal, and fighting to change the future.

Down (who's hand commands this thunder)
In silence (cry as we're torn asunder)
Alone (unto what gods do I call?)
Protect us in our..

And as Ryugi stared down the monster of a man, the self-proclaimed god of thunder and lightning, a deity of electricity calling his weapon from the heavens themselves, he did not blink, falter or flinch.

Fall away, my soul wandered
Borne by grace
I flew on high, sheltered from this thunder
Calling heaven...

As the tide of energy erupted outward across the plains, as the weapon slammed down into the ground with terrible power, he stood tall, his scarf blowing behind him as the light enveloped him, his eyes burning red with light from within, his aura flickering as debris flew freely by him, the chunks being deflected by snapping pulses of golden energy. The shockwave was amazing, but Ryugi wasn't going to be impressed by it. As John dropped, Ragnarok was already whirling into action. Ryugi's aura flared and shot forward, burning with golden energy, the power of his will and resolve imbued with fire and light. As John struck dirt, the ground warping under the force, the power unleashed to strike into John's form with all the power of a raging freight train.

User Image

The shockwave of impact and the raining debris would part from the eruption of scintillating golden force. It would tear across the short distance with lightning quick speed as John would be recovering from his landing. The energy was imbued with Ryugi's resolve, his very will cutting into the flesh of the half-god, his fiery determination searing the man's skin, and the light of his soul shimmering to pain the eyes. But what was even more powerful was the battle cry. Ryugi's energy surged outward as he let out a shout that sounded like a crack of thunder and echoed across the battle-scape, empowering the blast to huge levels.

The Supernova attack had cost Ryugi a healthy chunk of stamina, but that was also without the assistance of Ragnarok, and that blast had managed to bloody John into his berserker state. But this blast was imbued with equal amounts of power directly from Ryugi and Ragnarok, their two pools being tapped to bring a concentrated strike down onto the Human Dynamo. In short, this attack was nearly double the incredible power of the Supernova, and all of that was concentrated to slam into the man as he struck ground, tying Ryugi's immense power with his combat skill.

If John even attempted to dodge, Ryugi's stance would shift to bring him back into the blast's area of effect, a mighty cylinder roughly ten feet in diameter. And while the blast was horrifically powerful, it would cause a substantial drain on Ryugi. However, at this range, and with absolutely no time to prepare a full on defensive action after his hammer struck the earth, John would be forced to eat the attack at full force. The costs more than justified the planned outcome.

A god may have stood in front of Ryugi.

But a Hero stood in front of the god, met his gaze, and did not blink.

What is a warrior, except for a man of will?

To run is not a lack of willpower, it is an act of willpower. The will to survive, to fight another day, the most tenuous of will.

To fight, to engage an opponant in battle, does not requires willpower, it requires reason. If reason is strong, then a warrior's resolve is set as stone.

To die. To forget to fly in the face of danger. To fight on when there is no reason. That is ultimate will. That is ultimate resolve. Because death is final, it has inevitibility. And the warrior must use his indomitable willpower to reduce death to ash and stomp over it in his path to glory.

Tomorrow lifted his head as the earth beneath him buckled and collapsed to see a blinding light bearing down on him at incredible speed. He yanked the Hammer from it's seat within the earth and stood upright, leaning back on his haunches as he faced the onslaught, the power barreling forth, decimating the upturned earth before him.

There was no escape. The thought never crossed his mind. He was no longer a man, but a force of nature, inevitable as the tides and the winds, and they ebbed and flowed with all things. His ashened hair blew from his charred face, impassive as time as sparks of power flashed from his eyes, and he lifted his left arm, hand out, palm open, as if he was about to will the onslaught to pause...

The Supernova slammed into him, enveloping him, his roar of pain echoing over the almighty wail of energy as it flowed over him, stripping the skin from his arms and legs in massive chunks. His left arm remiained out, shuddering with the effort to keep the power back, his right arm gripping Moljinir tightly as if a lifeline - as the metal on his left arm began to peel away, the fingers disingergrating first before the forearm panels flipped away, disappearing into the energy wave - to reveal translucent skin beneath, light blue transparent muscles containing veins of pure electrical energy which pulsed brightly with each beat of Tomorrow's massive heart. Each metal plate flew away from his arm all the way down to the shoulder, revealling the translucent arm in it's entirity.

Upon the translucent wrist sat the golden circlet which had appeared with Moljinir, withstanding the viscious onslaught of power without any effort at all behind the blue hand before it.

Tribal Elders
- Odin's Boon -

This circlet, golden and covered in Nordic runes, was deisgned to work in part with Moljinir and Tomorrow himself. When accepted and worn by John, it creates a phantom limb where his left arm would normally be, replacing his prosthetic limb. This 'kinetic' arm has a light blue, translucent appearance, with arcs of electricity where John's veins and arteries would normally be.

When John wishes it, it is as solid as his orignial arm - but he can also make any part of it completely immaterial with a thought. When John's power wanes, the arm begins to dissapaite, the electrical veins within becoming fainter and fainter. On the other hand, at full power, the arm is nigh indestructible.

His feet dug into the ruined rock behind him as Odin's Boon bore the brunt of Ryugi's Supernova, his entire body leaning forward to repel the attack, gritting his teeth so hard several molars shattered in his mouth as chunks of charred flesh flew from his face to be swallowed by the power surrounding him. His translucent arm began to bend at the elbow, the mighty Aesir bowing his head and falling to one knee as he strained against Ryugi's unbeleivable resolve. The Supernova began to lessen it's onslaught upon him, however, as he opened his mouth and let out an earsplitting roar, the battlecry ringing out over the roar of the Supernova as he shoved forward with his left shoulder, pinning his left arm out hard, the electrical veins within suddenly becoming brilliant as they glowed as bright as the midday sun, the runes upon the Boon suddenly flaring into life.

Tribal Elders
- Energy Division -

When attacked or confronted by an energy type, John can used the Boon to absorb the energy and convert it into his own to use. This energy can be channeled into anything he wishes, but there are limits to this purpose - becoming a conduit to too much energy can dangerous, and potentially fatal, unless there is a release...

Tomorrow remained on his knee however, the power of the Boon absorbing the Supernova, bleeding it into Tomorrow's own form, the massive warrior's body shaking as static began to flash off him violently, his grip on Moljinir tightening so hard his hand began to bleed. The Supernova's assault on his body began to slow as the Boon sucked it in, the wave of power finally becoming a channel that flowed into Tomorrow's ethereal arm, his enitre body becoming covered in static, blood flowing freely from his innumerable wounds as the static made his muscles spasm, shaking his body completely in his kneeled state -

Before he suddenly threw his head up, his face tattered as he opened his bloody, sparking mouth and unleashed a cry unwhich had been heard on this plain before - and thrust his Hammer up high, the static covering his body climbing the bloody arm to concentrate upon the hammerhead, causing it to emit a beacon of light that flashed over the plains -

Before a lightening bolt flashed forth, carrying the Supernova's energy but converted into electrical power as well as the lions share of Tomorrow's own unbearable power, the bolt as fat as a tree-trunk and as fast as a bullet, to fly out to the only conductive surface left for miles.

Ryugi.

John's Bag 'O Tricks
- Thunder Bolt -
A powerful attack, where John concentrates all his power into a single blast of electricity. Anything conductive in it's path is severely electrocuted. Especially effective against airborne opponents.

Dammit...

The thunderous force of Ryugi's power had done a number on the man, but his counterattack was equally, if not more massive than Ryugi's strike itself. Acting quickly, Ryugi pushed Ragnarok to the forefront, the blade tip pointing towards the man as his energy grew, and finally unleashed towards Ryugi. The blast of electricity slammed into the golden aura surrounding Ryugi and sprayed off in crackling arcs of power and static. The aura was a manifestation not only of Ryugi's will, but of Ragnarok's, and just like its previous armored form, the aura allowed for defense against energy based attacks. It was far from perfect, however. Energy crackled around the barrier as Ryugi ate the blast through the filter the barrier provided, feeling the searing jolts of pain run up and down his form.

The ground all around him was torn asunder as the bolts struck all around him. His body cried out in pain as with as much willpower as he could muster, Ryugi stabbed Ragnarok into the ground, the sword's gem pulsing with energy as the power from the bolt was absorbed all the way to Ragnarok's holding capacity before the rest was discharged into the ground, using Ragnarok like a conductive copper wire. The leylines of the blade made it a far better conductor of electricity than Ryugi, and as electricity took the path of least resistance, Ragnarok would be the prime target for the energy to follow.

What had seemed like an eternity had only been a few seconds, but Ragnarok was full to its capacity of energy, and Ryugi panted from the strike that had been made against him, his buffer nearly depleted after his massive burst of willpower-laden energy. But rather than attack, the shimmering blade pulsed with white light inside the aura of gold, and the captured power filtered back to Ryugi as stamina, lifeblood, something to restore him and keep him going.

Ragnarok had two sides, each reflective of Ryugi's heart. One was his warrior side, the side that fought with every ounce of his strength to overcome. This side was reflected by Ragnarok in the golden aura that pulsed around Ryugi, allowing him to attack with the strength of the blade combined with the aura. The other was Ryugi's kind and protective side, reflected in the warm healing energies that the blade now used to restore its partner, and the defensive and protective aspects of the golden aura that had defended Ryugi from even greater harm. Energy was stamina, and stamina was the only thing that continued to keep Ryugi running.

His body still burned from the strike he had taken, but he was still ready to fight. Energy attacks alone would not bring Ryugi down in this state. His face was bloodied from the strain, the damage he'd taken, his whole body burned from the jolt of electricity he had taken before Ragnarok had acted of its own free will to assist him, but still, he would continue to fight. Ragnarok was still well over half its capacity for held energy, and still had its own power to provide. Ryugi's buffer had been restored to its default state, but his body's stamina had still been drained.

John Tomorrow's willpower was impressive, and his level of control over his element easily on par with Ryugi's. His body's ability to take damage was far beyond that of anyone Ryugi had ever seen before, and easily outclassed his own. He defended against attacks with his endurance, but even the mightiest of armor had to break in time. That hope, that belief spurred Ryugi onward to continue the battle. For there was one thing above all else that brought power to the will.

The heart.

Without the heart, pure willpower was wasteful. It lacked its true fire to ignite the soul and bring the power into focus. A berserker state was mighty, a warrior bent to the power of his will to kill and defeat the enemy at all costs. But the heart and soul that one had to give up to achieve such levels deprived the fighter of what was truly his most powerful resource. Belief, love, desires to be more and do more than your body allowed pushed a man to achieve great things, and it was that power that Ryugi embraced. He fought with his will and his heart at his side, and it was for that reason alone that his will and resolve were unbreakable.

Ryugi knew too much time had passed for him to make a strike against John while he was recovering, so, he did the next best thing. His red eyes locked onto the crackling orbs that were John's and he stared him down, daring him to bring it on. Both had their mighty weapons, both had their respective energy absorbing batteries, all that was left was for them to fight, and show the other what they were made of...

Tomorrow had no blade on which he could support himself. He had no item that returned his strength. He stood, skin smoking, sooted and bloodied, his hammer held limply in his right hand, his translucent left balled tightly into a shuddering fist, the static within glowing brightly within the clear flesh in the channel of smoking glass that had been cut into the landscape by the Supernova, a space of rock coming out from behind Tomorrow ina small V, a space that had been saved by Odin's Boon.

He looked ghoulish. The skin on his arms and legs had been blown off him in great chunks, revealing the muscles beneath, thick crimson cords that jumped with static, the electrical charges leaping up and down the flesh, the cover on the wire stripped away to reveal the conduits beneath. He no longer had hair - it had been burned away by the Supernova - and his face looked gaunt, the skin charred with pieces of pink flesh peeking out from the cracks within. Static flared from his flesh constantly, burning up what was left of his clothes...as if he'd ever needed them.

He remained. He had no other place to be, no other purpose in the world, except to weild the hammer by his side and crush his weakened enemy. Willpower? Only those who fail needed willpower. To this creature that stood before Ryugi, there was only one absolute notion - that he would drown the boy in his own blood if it meant victory.

Slowly he pulled his foot out of the ground, shattering the smouldering glass that had melted around his ankles in the process, his foot sizzling as it was placed upon the ground before him. He yanked his other foot out of the ground behind him, also pressing it to the floor, and for a moment, he looked like he was running on empty, pausing briefly to heft the hammer in his grip, reaffirming the hold upon it as he suddenly leaned back -

And ducked low, his grip on the hammer firm, the man's eyes flaring wildly as he unexpectedly exploded forth, shattered glass filling the sky behind him as he pushed off with his feet, running with great leaping strides to Ryugi, his hammer dragging along the ground to be swung up by the right hand, swinging diagonally from Ryugi's left to aim for his body, the hammerhead sparking wildly as it did, leaving a trail of static in its wake within the channel behind it. The static would continue to trail from the hammerhead as Tomorrow span with the attack, his irght hand's grip on the weapon sure as he pivoted on his right heel to bring the hammer down further, flowing into a horizontal swing that would strike at Ryugi's midesection.

Each attack's strike would feel like being hit by a wreckingball, each strike containing easily 10,000 volts of electcial power - enough to send Ryugi soaring into the air, leaving him with crushed bones and muscles that jumped wildly, his heart palpitating as it tried to disinguish between his own rythem and that of Tomorrow's power.

Endurance? Stamina?

Ryugi had no idea what stamina was. The Berserk were the masters of stamina. Never stopping, never giving up. Their limbs torn from their bodies, they would turn their bloodied stumps on their enemies to blind them with the gysers of blood that came from such wounds, before crawling forth to bite the arteries from their legs.

There was no such thing as death, nor failure. There was only the kill.

Breaking Benjamin - Blow me Away
"Only the Strongest will Survive"

With the hammer whirling like a huge and deadly top, Ryugi could not strike directly, even though he saw the strike coming. If he tried to attack, it was likely he'd be smashed by the blow, and thus, he did the only other thing that he could think of at the moment. A blow like that to his side would probably shatter his ribs, liquefy organs, and likely snap his spine like a twig. He could not go to either side at this point without being struck. He could not duck under the blow lest he be trampled beneath the man's bulk, and leaping over the man would likely cause the same effect of being hit, but into his armored boots, forcing him to spin like a top back into the ground where he would be trampled or smashed like a fly. He could only defend.

And so he did.

Ragnarok shot into a blocking position just as the first titanic swing of the hammer struck, the sheer force of the swing instantly overcoming his body's inertia to stay put. Ryugi doubted even a mountain could take that kind of a blow without being heavily scarred. The resounding clang of metal on metal echoed across the battlefield as Ragnarok's solid construction took the brunt of the blow, even as Ryugi's arms stung from the shock trauma of taking a direct strike of that magnitude.

Ryugi was like a ragdoll. His body flipped and rolled, slamming into the ground again and again as he fought to collect himself. Even with the aura flaring and trying to defend against the blows of the ground, Ryugi felt his ribs take a pounding until he felt a crack and knew that at least one, maybe two, had broken on his left side from the impact. Dirt, rocks, and dust were slammed into his face and mouth, causing him to spit it free as he finally managed to bounce into the air enough to right his position and land on his feet, stabbing Ragnarok into the ground to slow his skid.

As he spat the dirt and small rocks and felt the sting of his broken ribs and scraped face, he realized that John's blow had knocked him almost a full one hundred feet away from his previous position, and right now, Ryugi's body felt every foot of his trip. He felt like he'd fallen down a mountain, and it hurt to breathe besides. His left eye had been cut, blood dripping to the ground below as he spat the grit once more, his red glare gazing back at John wherever he was. After a strike like that, Ryugi needed time to recover and gather his bearings...

But regardless, he pulled Ragnarok to his shoulder and stared out to meet John's gaze, wherever he was. This was still a fight. And only the mightiest warrior was going to walk away the victor.

((EDITing to show reaction to John's arm when using Boon))

Tomorrow watched the man sail away, digging his foot into the ground to arrest his rotating movement, the glass shattering as his ankle cut a channel into the floor - before he bent down low, leaping after the man. As Ryugi flipped and twisted through the air, Tomrorow transferred Moljinir to his left arm, the electrical veins bursting with light, wriggling and jumping like crazy as two runes on Odin's Boon suddenly flashed to life, the light from the static in the arm fading significantly as they did.

Tribal Elders
- Iconic Power -
Tomorrow can channel his energy into the arm when wearing the Boon, making it several times stronger then his regular arm. The amount of strength is derived from the amount of energy channeled - a quarter equates to twice the strength, half three times the strength, three-quarters four times the strength. With each channeling, several runes light up upon the circlet - four in total, signifying the power level the arm is at currently.

Placing his right hand above the left one on the haft, Tomorrow would use the left hand to swing the hammer down - twice as hard as what Ryugi had just felt. And as Ryugi hit the ground and came to a stop, Tomorrow would be bearing down on him to smash the hammer home.

Unfortunately, Ryugi would not get the chance to recover, but it didn't take a whole lot of time to realize that something very big was heading your way from above, especially when Ryugi's right eye could follow the huge shining aura of power that was Johnathan Tomorrow.

Acting quickly, Ryugi dug his legs into the ground, fighting against his momentum from the first shot he'd taken, and pushed off, moving away just as John's hammer came down, slamming into the ground with tremendous force. Ryugi skidded to a halt a few feet away, Ragnarok in hand in a defensive position to try and block against the shockwave of debris he knew had to be coming...

Tomorrow's momentum couldn't be stopped. His eyes followed Ryugi as he made his desperate dash out of the way, but all he could do was brace himself for impact.

And impact he did, the hammer slamming home into the earth, becoming buried up to Tomorrows hand as he hit the ground, landing on his hands and feet like a cat. The earth had been so ruined by both of their awesome powers, it was like fighting in wet sand.

Ryugi would have a chance to attack here as Tomorrow tried to recover - but if he approached, he woudl see Tomorrow twisting his body to face him, Tomorrow's transluscent left hand still gripping as he forced his left shoulder forward, his feet digging into the earth - as he tore the hammer from the ground to fling it at Ryugi from point-blank range, dirt spraying everywhere as he swung his hand up into the air, releasing the hammer directly at Ryugi.

Even if Ryugi stayed still, Tomrorow would still throw the hammer at him, and even as it sailed to Ryugi, Tomorrow would be forcing himself forward, approaching the smaller man to reach out for him, looking to grasp Ragnarok by its edges and plant his foot into Ryugi's midsection, looking to boot him away from his own weapon.

Ryugi wasn't waiting for that kind of opening. Blasting the big man from a distance had been somewhat effective, but the man could absorb the energy now and dilute its effects. This meant that anything Ryugi threw at him would be mostly ineffective. Fire refused to burn, brute force refused to break the man, and Ryugi doubted that the man's thick skin and drive to defeat him would even be deterred by stabbing Ragnarok through him, assuming the man even allowed such a thing tom get through his massive hammer in the first place. Ryugi's options were truly limited at this point.

It was time to buy himself some time.

John picked his hammer out of the ground that had seemingly swallowed the weapon up. The solidity of the terrain seemed like a joke, an illusion to the sheer might that Johnathan Tomorrow was capable of unleashing. His internal battery continued tom churn out thunderous amounts of power, likely even greater than Ryugi could produce over the same period of time. As far as Ryugi had seen, the power he witnessed did not seem to strain the man at all. He was truly a king among the berserk. Nothing could touch him, or make him flinch. Even tearing away skin to red muscle, even with the severe amount of blood the man had lost, he was unaffected. He kept coming.

Ryugi was strong. He had large stores of energy ready on command, but he couldn't compare to the monster of a man that bore down on him. His strength in comparison seemed a nuisance when compared to the man before him. No, a strike from a distance simply would not work, and even a close range strike would prove mostly ineffective. But Ryugi refused to give up and give in. Everyone, no matter how mighty had a weakness, a flaw. Something had to give. Ryugi just needed more time...

As John turned to look, Ryugi reached for his white scarf. The material was the purest white one could imagine. Despite all the years, it had been better kept than any other article of Ryugi's clothing. It had more meaning to him than almost any other item on his person, save for perhaps one, the Shadow Necklace around his neck. Like the Shadow Necklace, the scarf had been given to Ryugi by a friend, a dear and treasured friend who had given her life, died, for the sake of saving and protecting Ryugi and his comrades from death. His trademark scarf was more than a fashion accessory. It was a constant reminder of Ryugi's desire and his will. It reminded him that he had to press onward, to fight for all those that had fallen for him, for his lack of ability or skill. To remove it was almost unthinkable in battle, but right now, Ryugi needed something, anything to buy him some time.

The scarf was nearly nine feet long unraveled from Ryugi's neck, and roughly a foot wide, made of durable fireproof material. It also served to keep Ryugi's neck warm. To John, it would probably be like tissue paper, but maybe, just maybe, the man would dodge, and give Ryugi an opening to attack. If he did, Ryugi would have a chance to strike, and strike hard, but if the man tore through the scarf, uncaring, he'd reach a Ryugi without an adequate defense. Ryugi had taken a gamble on tossing the scarf towards John, but right now, it was the only thing he could think about that might give him a chance to strike back against the titan.

And so, he'd toss the scarf, and pray that John dodged.

Of course Tomorrow wouldn't dodge.

He was Berserk. Ryugi could call forth a choir of angels to rain heaven down upon him, he could summon demons up from the depths of hell to swamp him in fiery magma, but Tomorrow would not stop for anything.

The action did stop him from doing one thing - throwing the hammer. The distance was so close they could smell each other - Ryugi blood and sweat, Tomorrow charred flesh - and as Ryugi tossed the scarf, Tomorrow lunged, his right hand actually catching on the scarf to wrap it around Ryugi's neck as his fingers went to enclose around his neck.

Tomorrow would then lift Ryugi up by his neck, his left arm pulsing with power wildly, Molijinir flashing with static wildly as he had him right where he wanted him...but did not strike.

It was like he was waiting for Ryugi to do - or say - something, the bloodied, smoking ghoul staring up at the boy with gritted cracked teeth and eyes that continually sparked, static leaping from them as they bore into Ryugi's gaze...
