*Dances*
It's been clouded over and rainy all day. S'all dark and gloomy.
Makes me feel tired. :/ Though I'm not.
I dreamed about Godfrey last night. O_o
He was...... it was in the way future. And.... people... did experiments on orphans..... there were bad guys....
Someone tried to blow something up. A huge explosion. Godfrey used his magic to try and contain the fire in a 'bubble', but it broke out on one side. And he lost his right hand.
He kept the burnt nub in his sleeve, and used it to hit a softball in place of a bat, since he was visiting the orphans (They were magical?) ... but he lived with Harry, and harry had cameras EVERYWHERE in his room.
It was kinda weird. For some reason Godfrey had to be watched. O_o But after he saved people from dying in the explosion, he was sort of left alone.
The experiments were to try and eradicate people's thoughts of hate and killing and whatnot. So that's why they were using orphans. They wanted to experiment on Godfrey too, but he wouldn't let them, not unless they experimented on ALL kids, including their own.
The orphans were sort of blank and unfocused and drool-y. O_o
That's all I remember. :3

I feel sad.
I've been reading some fanfiction and stuff, and now the HP series makes me sad. sad
Because it WAS written for children. Or young teens. The books are great, yeah. But they're full of that upbeat 'everything's going to be fine because it's a happy storry' sort of feeling.
I would love to see the series re-written by someone who knew how to put a harsher, more realistic view into it and come out with adult novels.
Or, I would just really like to have more then my own thoughts on the early years of Dumbledore and Riddle.
Because..... it's sort of cool, if you think about it. Dumbledore, born into a wizarding family. But not happy because he knew he was better than them. His family loved him, and he lvoed them, yet he seems to have resented them. He wanted status beyond what he was given.
Riddle, no family, loved by no one, loved no one. By the time he was ten years old he was already a survivor of a horrible time of war and want. Already jaded against the world and distrusting of anyone except himself. Left to fester and rot in that orphanage where he was treated like a freak, and had been threatened to be taken to an asylum. Too complicated to exlain my brain thoughts. (Living in a muggle orphanage during wwII.... I can't even fathom how horrible that would be. Orphans weren't treated very well normally either. neutral ))
IT's just..... Dumbledore and Riddle were so much alike, really, despite the circumstances. Riddle hurt people before they hurt him first. Dumbledore looked to control people for their own 'safety' and because he felt himself superior to them.
My god, I would orgasm SO HARD for an adult/older teen written story about Dumbledore's early years, Tom's years, and then perhaps a lead up to a rewrite of the story. 8D
It's just so sad to be so easily able to imagine something like that, to imagine the revelation and feelings of how completely awesome it would be, but not have the skills/talents/means to do such a thing.
XD I'm a much more visual person. I can see and feel what I want, but I can't translate it into words properly. IT goes to slow. It's a lot faster just to think it, but then it goes away. (Which is why I'm much better at quick immediate posts and short stories than long drawn out things)
I should get a tape recorder, and be like that obnoxious guy in that movie where they went to the earth's core, and he recorded everything he said. xD
It's great having my own thoughts and ideas and feeligns on it, but there's that urge to share it. D:
SHAREEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
I just REALLY want to read somethign completely awesome about a character like riddle who has an actual reason for turning out to be a horrible murderer, and leaves you feeling completely terrified at the end of it, without a trace of pity.
I know there's a book like that. biggrin I Dunno what it's called.
I CALL ITS NOT BOOK DISCUSSION. It's thoughts discussion. stare

That post deserved its own thread. *Pokes* You guys are allowed to make some, you know XD They don't have to be "official" crap. I just have official threads so we can find what we're looking for faster... and, truthfully, to make the front page more organized XD It can just be like "here is a new discussion~" like in any other forum on Gaia.
Anyway, though, I feel the same way you do. I'd say give it to Stephen King. Though a good portion of the books of his I've read were good some of them were not due to repeating plots (which I believe is one of his only issues as an author) but since it'd be someone else's plot... *Shrugs* I hate naming such a popular author, but popular authors are usually popular for a reason.
Or if we wanted a darker, more sexual look at Voldemort or Albus, we could go back in time and get Poppy Z Brite when she was still into vampires. Her s**t is as evil, graphic, and twisted as is possible. I could see her doing Tom's slow evolution into torturing animals and other kids with an eerie realistic-ness that would send chills down one's spine.
And as usual, my dear Cassy, your point of view is refreshing, insightful, and deep. And inspires a thousand muses.
Sharing is nice. <3

I like history.
AND I DUN WANNA MAKE A THREAD! *POUTWHINERANTTANTRUM*
XD
O. Yes. Stephen King. He'd write ti sososo well.
Or even just someone who is really familiar with WWII as a writer but who has maybe written fictional WWII stories. O_o
What about that one guy who was here on gaia, promoting his book? I've never read it. xD But I've heard it's good and fantasy like but with historical accuracy.
--------
I kinda see Voldemort as a guy who never really cared for/enjoyed sex. Not for gratification. For using his body/other people to get his means, yes, but not for pleasure.
I think people with good, great minds like his own attracted him, but it didn't bloom into physical. Which is why he liked Severus so much. Severus was a half blood like him, and smart.
I still think that the only person he might have had some actual physical sort of attraction to was Regulus Black. O_o
I LIKE TO SHARE THOUGHTS, IF YOU HAVEN't CAUGHT ON TO THAT YET.

Regulus was so a horcrux. S'in my canon that he was at least, and that's the real reason why he finally snapped, took the locket to destroy it and himself in that lake.
How much would it suck, though for him when he came right back to life like Harry did, though? Still stuck under the water, having to drown again...
Anyway.
I ship Voldemort/Regulus so hardcore. Dub-con or Raep. S'all good to me. 3nodding

Tom/Reg.
Omfg.
LURV.
IT WAS DUBCON BITCHES. talk2hand
@Cassy: I agree, though I think as a teenager he might have viewed sex as another way to get one-up on the social power scale; I think he enjoyed it in a physical sense then, but after a few years it lost its allure and he pursued intelligence-based 'relationships' that would just be slight connections with those he viewed as somewhat worthy of his thoughts.
(Not including Reg.)
Like my Bella, for example. Her love for him was romantic, but the Voldemort of her 'verse enjoyed her company because of her passionate political rants and the intensity she put into defending her views. He thought she was a brilliant young woman with a head for politics, but he never slept with her. Then Azkaban knocked a few things out of whack and his adoration for her mind dwindled, her mistakes adding to his disappointment.

Mmmm... dubcon.
@NAZ: *Agrees 150%*
I think I love Voldemort.
Even though I know that 1. He isn't real. 2. IF he was real, he'd never know of my existence. 3. IF he did, it would be for an instant before he offed me. D: 4. It would be more likely an underling of his would do it instead, and I'd be no more than a body count.
Still. <3 ITS WRONG BUT I LOVE IT.
