Blanc: Thank you! Ya know, you can PM Minerva or a mod. They'll move you up. That's what I've been doing...although I think I'm driving her crazy... sweatdrop .
It is a very good show. It's on A&E, I don't know when though. My step-dad recently got rid of cable, so I don't have that channel anymore. But I've seen a lot of them. Although the ones I've seen focus on people with alcohol or drug issues, there have been ones with sex and food issues. It's very interesting how they act when they're, shall we say, "under the influence".
Oh, we watched the whole thing and had questions to do during it. But I need to buy it...I know, I don't have it yet, it's kind of pathetic.
Yeah, I guess. I've never seen any of those, although I did borrow them from my soon-to-be-sister-in-law. But I guess that's my problem with Disney. They'd rather look good than have good messages and stuff.

Kineka: I know, but I'd rather not bug her and all. I'll probably ending up sending her a pm when I've reached 150 though. Sounds really interesting. Makes me glad my parents got Directv (: I need to buy it on dvd. We only have it on a vhs tape with extremely poor quality. You need to see them. They're really good. Actually Disney has plenty of good messages for kids. For most of them, there are lessons like seeing the good in others and looking past the bad, not to judge others by apperances, if you believe your dreams can come true, and love conquers all. They show attractive characters mainly because they want to appeal to an audience. Also, the characters deal with which ones look better animated. A lot of thought goes into the films and a lot of heart does as well. Maybe that's why I want to work for them so badly.

Kineka_the_Warrior You're not mad! Neither is Luna, actually. You're just...gifted smile . But I'm just kind of that young person that has stuff I wanna do before I die, and to know that in about 3 years time, I'll be dead...it's just kind of hard for me to grasp, I guess. Now my parents, on the other hand, think differently. They're basically like "Well, if it happens, it was meant to happen. Oh well, Earth sucked anyway." It kind of scares me how calm they are about this whole thing... Haha, thanks! lol It makes sense why it would be difficult to grasp. I'm calm about it too because...Well, to be honest, I think humans suck. All animals are violent and fight each other; not just us. HOWEVER, no other creatures tear down enire rainforests and put holes in the ozone layer. So, even though I don't want to die, I can't blame God if He kills off humanity for the sake of the other animals because we're destroying the planet. For the past couple years we've been trying to stop polluting as badly and to conserve energy, but it might be too little too late...La Vie en Blanc Minerva: That makes sense. Thank you and I just added those rules (: There is a possibility that something will happen. I agree with you when you say it will be huge. I plan on living my life as I would anyday. I'm not going to think of 2012 until it's here. Sometimes, it's just better to think and live in the present.
You're welcome. whee I'm not living my life differently because of it either. I considered dropping out of school to travel the world beore it ends, but on the chance that we all don't wind up dead I want to make sure that I've got my college education under my belt. xd

Minerva: xd Thankfully I'm graduating highschool if it happens. I'll be in my sophomore year of college if the world does end then. That's a scary and odd thought. The sophomore year of college part, not the dying when I'm about to turn 20 part. The future freaks me out.

Aww :c I think I'm one of the few people at my school who openly love it. I'm both excited and nervous for graduation day. I know I'll miss it when I'm done. I already miss school and its been only a month and a few days. I'm horrible with keeping in touch with people though. I have friends from middle school that I haven't spoken to in years. It makes me sad at times.

It is sad sad I never understood how much people could change in such a short matter of time. It was like we all separated one by one. I guess when i broke up with my ex that really cut all the strings. Men really do stick with friends, even if theyre wrong. Which is sad really, but honorable i guess.
Im thinking of going back to school im just not real sure for what yet sad . Decisions Decisions lol

Blanc: She's fine when she does mine...or you could tell her on here. That's the beauty of getting to know your HoH smile .
Haha yeah. We might get U-verse later, if my dad wants to pay the same as cable, just get more channels and better service.
Haha I only have Wizard of Oz on VHS. Man, I remember when those were SO popular. Now they've earned themselves a one-way ticket to the dump.
Yeah, I guess. But, to me, it's always been like, the normal girl being a star, or the normal girl and popular boy getting together, the handsome boy saving the beautiful girl...I don't know, it gets repetative. I do agree that they teach all those leasons, but I mean, look at Hannah Montana (I know it's not animated, but it's basically the same). She's protraying a two-faced person and lies about each side. Does that sound like a good message?
Minerva: You're welcome smile . Yeah, I hate that people destroy the Earth. I mean, we only have one home, and we're crumbling it to pieces. As far as I'm concered, humans will be the cause of the end of the world, not some stupid calendar. But it's kind of scary to think that we're already almost there, I mean the ozone's practically gone, the air is so polluted you can barely breathe, there aren't enough people to keep saving stuff and recycling. Some people already don't....
Haha, I'll be a freshman in college when that happens.
Thulie: I plan on holding on to high school memories. It's the best time I've ever had in a school. My elementary school was so small that I felt like an outcast, being the only one that was tall and overweight. My middle school was very cliquey, so I had to hang out with the depressed nerds because I didn't fit in anywhere else. High school, I can finally find people to hang out with that don't care how I look or how smart I am. Most of them are too. I hope that I can keep in touch with these people, I think they're the best friends I've ever had. I barely talk to anyone from grade school anymore, except my best friend who I've known since 5th grade and is going to my high school. And some people that hate me for reasons unknown...so I don't really count them.
I'm excited for college, but I don't want to leave high school. I'm already in awe that freshman year's over. If freshman year went THAT fast, how fast are the others going to go? That's what me and my former friends said in 8th grade. Like, we're always saying that grade school went really fast, and that was 8 - 9 years, and now high school is only 4 years (hopefully) and to think how unbelievably fast THAT'S gonna go? It's sad to think about sometimes.

Blanc: Oh, okay then. I still have all my VHS tapes. I can remember when they were popular too, but now they're just annoying. The Wizard of Oz was the first dvd I bought (: I'm surprised that I remember that too. I don't count Hannah Montana or anything on Disney channel as Disney. Hannah Montana and all their other shows are jokes. I count Disney's animated movies as being what Disney is about. Their stories do tend to get repetitive, but not all of their stories focus on that. The whole 'damsel in distress' thing is definitely a staple for most of their movies. There have been plenty of heroines in their movies though. Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Meg (Hercules), and Mulan were all girls who were not the damsels in distress. Actually, Meg was but she said and I quote, "I'm a damsel, I'm in distress, I can handle this. Have a nice day."

Blanc: I actually don't have it on DVD. I usually find it on TV if I wanna watch it. I just found it on a couple weeks ago, actually, but I missed the whole beginning of it because I was reading...that sucked.
I think they're basically the same thing, just with real people and more mature themes. But I have to admit that I don't remember much of any of the animated movies. I borrowed them all, but only got to watch Aladdin. And Finding Nemo. Those are the only ones I really remember...although I do remember Lion King a little, and A Bug's Life, but not a lot...

Kineka: I agree...I'm going to be a sophomore in high school, and freshman year just flew by. It was a really exciting year, too. I mean, a lot happened. But it was fun. I have the feeling that the rest of high school will be like that. And I hope to continue being friends with the people that I am friends with now, because we're really close, and we hang out all the time and everything.
Blanc: Yeah, everything on Disney channel isn't Disney. I mean, when I think of Disney, and same with my friends, we think of the old movies like Aladdin, Lion King, Sleeping Beauty and all those when we think of Disney. Did you hear that Disney is making a new movie with the old animation? It's basically what happened after the princess kissed the frog or whatever. I don't remember what it's called nor when it comes out, just what it's about. I saw a preview for it at HBP, and my friend and I were way excited because we love the old Disney movies. I do think that the themes get repetitive sometimes, but they're still good.

Nariko: Yeah. I know senior year will fly by too, since all the seniors are all excited for college and they can do everything that everyone else can't...it was the same with 8th grade. We were the "big dogs" as my teacher put it, so that year went by really fast. Sometimes it's hard to believe I'm actually in high school...
Oh, is that the one with the black princess? Yeah, some people were being racist about it, her being black and everything. I think it sounds just fine. It's better to have diversity among little kids, it'll get them ready for what's coming.

Kineka: I own a large collection of movies. I hate watching it on tv because of all the commercials. There's more controversy about the prince's skin tone. He is a black prince, but people have seen some promotional photos that have him look either hispanic or white. I think it's silly for there to be controversy over an animated movie. Little kids don't look at people and see their race. I don't see why adults can't either.
Nariko: Yes I did! I cannot wait for The Princess and the Frog! The animation looks fantastic and the theater I was in, for Half Blood Prince, seemed to like it. December 11th is when it comes out by the way (:

Thulie, I only speak to my close friends from secondary school. I miss some of my aquantainces sometimes, but if they never bothered to contact me I wasn't going to contact them. I'm entering my 3rd year of university in September. smile
Kineka, some people are saying the black princess is racist? That's absurd. rolleyes Black is a colour normally associated with elegance or evil (or both). It's not a racist thing. Disney already has a Snow White, after all. Anyone that says otherwise is just looking for an excuse to complain.
Para, I hope the long drive is worth the fun you'll have when you get there! whee
Blanc, Kineka is right. Everyone is supposed to PM me when they move up, so send me a message and let me know what year you should be. razz The Haven has LOADS of members, ergo I can't check the number of posts of every member every day to see if they've moved up since most people - as you've probably noticed in the Hogwarts Houses thread - stay first years forever.
