Knives observed Kaori for a moment, perhaps a bit longer than one might to just inspect a stance to make sure it was correct at that. He took his hand to adjust her stance ever so slightly, one might say it wasn't needed but he was the teacher, "There that's basically it. Go ahead and practice getting into it and so that you've got the understanding of how it works feels etc. Just like the other stances." he instructed her before reviewing some material himself to appear busy to others not observing him closely.

Kaori nodded once more and moved out of the stance, a blush on her face from his staring and then touching. She had the feeling it wasn't strictly as a teacher to a student, but who was she to call him out on it? Besides, she doubted that he was interested in her like that. She moved back into the stance, and then out. She did this several times until it was more muscle memory than mental memory. Once she had it down and could do it without thinking she looked back up at Knives and gave him a shy smile, "I think I've got it Knives."

Kaori giggled, she couldn't help it. She could have sworn that was actual flirting in his tone. She smiled and blushed, "I don't know. Perhaps you should..." He was so pleasing to look at, she couldn't help but ask him to demonstrate again.

"I'll do you one better." He chuckled taking her hips in his hands as he directed a student to attack them both before whispering softly in her ear. "Move your feet a few inches about the ground when you do it." As the student attack Knives moved with Kaori still in his grip lifting her just enough as he moved the same as he done before. The way he did it Kaori would move almost entirely on her own power but with the assistance of Knives so she got used to the actual movement of moving just a few inches from the ground. "As you can see." He said moving away from Kaori slightly "It doesn't really work that well on ground that isn't pretty flat, but it does move you out of the way enough when you get to use it." he smiled at Kaori.

Kaori blushed when Knives held her. Her heart was pounding and she just knew he had to know with how close they were. She forced herself to focus on the feel of the technique though, rather than the feel of him holding her so close. When he released her it almost seemed reluctant, though that very well could have been her projecting. She looked up at Knives, a small smile curled across her lips, "T-thank you.... I think I'm ready to try...."

Kaori swiftly moved, he motion a smooth glide just as Knives had taught her, and avoided his swing. She knew if he was really trying she'd probably be dead before she could think to blink, but this was training, so she knew he was holding back his complete strength. But she also knew he wasn't holding everything back, just enough so that she had a challenge, but could actually learn. It was thrilling to be completely honest. She used the flat step technique each time Knives came at her aggressively.

Knives continued to work with Kaori, throwing the occasionally different direction at her and the occasional wink to attempt to throw her off guard. He didn't think that it would work, but he liked to tease her none the less.
"Alright I think you've got it." he said after several minutes of training Kaori. "Alright well now we move back into weaponry." Knives said pulling his blade almost too quick to see across his body. "Did you catch that?" He said before putting it back to his belt knowing few probably saw him actually draw it fully

"It's a variation on the next technique. It can be done one handed." Knives said before his hand quickly moved across his body into a dummy that cracked moments after he had attacked it. "It can be used in place of a traditional block as well, however as you saw earlier it can be used with weapons to slice through, well most anything." he smirked.

Kaori smiled softly and nodded in understanding, "Alright." She said as she moved her scythe closer to her body. She had the blade closer to the ground, the butt of the pole in the air. She held the metal and wood pole with sure hands as she tried to imitate Knives' move. She didn't know if her scythe was just too bulky, or if she was just not doing it right, but it was a failure, nowhere near as smooth and rapid as Knives, "That.. didn't go as planned." She mumbled, disappointed.

Kaori nodded and put her scythe to the side for now. He was right, she shouldn't have tried to get it all at once in the first place. Once she'd put her scythe down abit away from them she turned back to Knives and nodded, "Alright. So..." She put her hands near her body, as if she were holding a weapon, then swiftly drew one hand across her body, like Knives had demonstrated, "Like this?"

Theodin walked into the academy where everyone was training, and saw that Knives and Kaori were still working on taijutsu. Theodin spotted his mom sitting near the wall ready, and decided to go sit near her and watch the others train while he read. Dropping his bag full of books with a heavy thud, Theodin sat down a couple feet from Ayame, "Did I miss anything interesting?" he said with a smile and a small chuckle as he went rummaging through the bag full of books for the first one he wanted to read, a small-ish book on strategy and warfare. He opened it up and started reading, glancing up and around the room quickly from time to time.
