Chieftain Twilight
oh my! xd they sound like little monsters! I wonder how you deal with them now?

anywho, speaking of little ones, I'm right now babysitting my friend's 4-year-old daughter while he's at School. she has a cold, the poor thing... on th eplus side, it's easy for me to do my homework and catch up online.

still have over 800 emails in my inbox though. xp
At their worst, they're really bad... I'd be pulling my hair out if they were like that all the time. More normally, the worst trouble they get up to is sitting on one another or covering the baby with blankets so they don't have to see him. Typical mean-sibling things. At their best, they're all three very loving. They still like to fall asleep on laps every now and then, which is a nice balance to the regular craziness that goes on.

BTW all - don't forget, the Mayan calendar didn't predict past the year 2012... but then, it might have been a severe case of procrastination on their part. xd

Normally, the first 4 months of the year are harder than the rest of the year for us. At least at the moment it is just stress and people's attitudes that are hard to deal with on my end. I haven't had anything as bad as deaths and stuff.

The whole lay-off thing usually tends to turn out better for us in the long run, so I am not sweating it... just trying to help my husband feel as confident as I do about the situation.

I think the worst part is that I haven't been able to shed a tear over any of them. I feel like a cold stone-hearted b***h. All I can manage is some sadness and mild loneliness.

My grandmother died last year. I actually kind of forgot because she was an old b***h and I hate my dad. I don't feel bad for not sending anything. They had nothing to do with me. She even made a comment like "I have the other grandkids, why do I need to pay attention to yours." So yup, I don't feel bad at all. She was nasty her entire life so.... She got what was comming.

I can be very nasty at times, but it always has cause.

Or they were all killed by Cortez. That is the most likely explaination. To me at least.

Good to see you Twi!

And yeah Kosi, kids are indeed fun...

My day ended with me nearly snapping on my nearly 4 year old. She is very...erm... artistic... to say the least.

For real, I have been able to tell what her pictures are since she was two, and she is already able to color and stay in the lines. She is better at sight-copying pictures than her 8 year old brother is... but she has recently decided the bounds of a 7x11 sheet of paper is not enough to contain her massive abundance of creative genius. She has been sneaking around leaving her marks on places that I don't normally see. She has recently muraled my son's wall (his room has been newly and completely remodeled), she has been coloring on toys, on the shelf in her room, the underside of the coffee table, the floor under the rug (I wondered why the rug kept shifting), and I just don't know what to do with her.

Tonight, when I made my most recent discovery, I sent her to her room, and when I was trying to explain that I was upset and that she was in trouble, she got this snide little grin on her face. I wanted to flip her over and swat her rear end, but we reserve that for serious punishment for dangerous activities on her part. I think she understands this more than my son ever did, so she isn't scared of getting in trouble. She doesn't seem bothered by getting her toys taken either. I have never completely emptied her room of toys before, and I think that is my next step if she continues her snootiness...

Kids can be really fun, but then they turn to their monster side! What happens?! Luckily my daughter hasn't colored on more than a few walls and those were very tiny and I caught her quick. I probably would have swatted her if she gave me a look like your daughter did. I hate snotty kids... My niece was soo bad when I was still living near them. But now she is getting better. She turns 5 this year. And my nephew has gotten better too. He just turned 3 and my daughter is almost as big as him. She is over a year younger. It's crazy.

I had a fun one at dinner tonight... Our daughter was running around still playing and I was giving her bites as she came by. My husband had paused his video game to eat, but then starts playing while we're eating. I gave him a look and he says something to the effect of "She's still playing". So of course I respond "She's two!" Seriously now... a 22 year old father is going to get all pouty because he can't play his game at the table when our two year old is running around... I couldn't believe him...

Normally my kids are super wonderful awesome well behaved, but my daughter is a bit more headstrong than my son ever was. I am thinking she needs a new outlet for her creativity, but I don't know what to trust her with. I can honestly say that if this last couple weeks of sneakiness turns into an all out, full-blown phase, I WILL be reevaluating our punishment policies.

We recently got her her very own first Wii games, and she asked if she could paint on the Wii... I knew what she meant but my husband was a bit horrified at first. LOL We hadn't even thought of it, but we should have, she loves watching me make pics on the computer. She ended up with a couple learning games instead, but her birthday is in Feb, so I at least know what to look for... I wonder if they make a Mario Paint for Wii like they did for the SuperNES. I guess it's something to look into.

Oh, and yeah...

My daughter did the poop-art incident when she was two. She has always been a stinker too. The clean-up was one of the grossest experiences of my life. I actually let her have a couple of jumbo crayons and a color book in her crib after that.

The funny thing... She never marked in her crib or playpen with crayons back then, so why now?

I read about the Mayan Calender back when I was in middle school and got hooked to Central and South American History, back before everything was sensationalized. The big question back then was exactly what year the end of the calendar fell on, and there were several guesses, including 1998, 2005, 2012, and 2019. Then instead of the world coming to an end, a new age was supposed to begin, as it had several times in the past.

It wasn't until half educated kooks from the History Channel thought "HEY, We can generate RATINGS from SENSATIONALIZING this!" that we saw the rise in apocalypse theories. It seems the history channel has found all five wannabe prophet scholars who actually have lied themselves into believing that malarkey.

In truth, the Mayans believed that nothing ever truly ended, just proceeded to the next age. Basically the way it goes is pretty much summed up in the old adage, "Every ending is really just a new beginning." Thus the calendar was meant to start over again, based on cosmic positioning that still isn't fully understood by modern scientists.

Oh that's cool. I did not know that. And that is why I do not really watch history channel anymore. I'll watch if it is about space, but the big bang documentary that have really makes no sense and it contradicts itself...

LOL

Allot of the History Channel's docu-tainment programs are like that if your really try to follow them. Heck, Sci-fi's paranormal and crypto-hunter shows are more believable than the History Channel anymore.

I honestly think that their producers believe that throwing in so many conflicting theories right on top of each other in fast succession gives them the edge. Their angle being, if they create enough confusion to overload the viewers minds, they will only remember what turns out to be true later on down the road.

I don't think I could ever let "Cities of the Underground" live down calling a newt a reptile. And don't get me started on so many of their Biblical History shows. I like their "Nova-like" series that truely are just showing proven stuff and giving explanations, but they rarely ever air those anymore, favoring ratings over integrity.

If I'm merging two characters together, Eric and Jareth, does the resulting person become Ereth or Jeric?
