Smaller? Yes. Stronger? Physically maybe by numbers alone but no one was going to argue that Ryugi wasn't pleased that he'd struck first blood, or first metal vs metal anyway. As the large man recoiled and literally flew through the air from the power of the strike, Ryugi was already recovering from the collision of the big man's arm and his weapon. His red eyes followed the movement of the man as he flew threw the air, landed, and then proceeded to charge into the fray again after taking the hit. This brought a grin to Ryugi's face. It meant that John was serious about continuing the battle, and that made him all the more determined.

The one thing that bothered Ryugi was that John moved to close the distance before apparently moving to attack. Ryugi had done both. The man's fighting style thus far allowed Ryugi to beleive that the big man was still testing him, waiting for him to showcase something where he could take advantage, an opening or otherwise. It was a wise choice indeed, but where was the fun in battle if you didn't take a risk now and again? When one fought as much as Ryugi had in his lifetime, it came to a point where simply dodging an ability because too easy or too simple. A real fighter could avoid strikes, sure, but could he take them and still come back strong as ever?

Ryugi's thoughts aside, he still had a couple hundred pounds of flesh and metal stomping towards him. Ryugi decided that if his opponent wasn't going to move to strike, he would. After all, taking advantage of your opponent's attack with your next attack was the core mechanic in all combat, even if that meant taking a cracked rib or two. So, Ryugi changed his strike a bit.

Ryugi moved his sword onto his right shoulder and charged in, and once he was within range, he brought the sword down in a diagonal dropping slash from right to left, starting somewhere above John's left shoulder and ending somewhere around his right thigh. Simply ducking backwards wouldn't work for a strike like that, and neither would punching as the man was already running. John would have to take the hit, dodge, of find another way to deal with it, and Ryugi's mind was already racing to find out exactly what the man had up his sleeves.

Ryugi was exactly right. John was still testing him - testing his movement, testing his skills, testing for weakness. It had been like he'd told Enki weeks ago - this was a dance that was almost like dating - coy at first, but passionate later.

His eyes flashed as the smaller man hefted the sword onto his shoulder, racing to meet Tomorrow before swinging. He'd telegraphed the attack a little too obviously - not going for a sneaky option like John was about it.

As Ryugi's sword swung down, John suddenly changed his direction - stamping his left foot down at he approached Ryugi, John threw his body around, bending his head low and grasping his left wrist with his right as he brutally pivoted himself to the left, his back to Ryugi as the smaller man's sword sailed past him, the large man ducking down to dodge it - as John disengaged his left arm from the shoulder, his grip on the wrist tight as he threw his right arm out, looking to use his momentum to slam the shoulder of the arm into Ryugi's back!!

It was an attack incorporated into a dodge - see the attack, pivot out of the way and swing the arm out at the same time, using the arm's own weight - a good 60+ pounds - to increase his spin and add more power to the blow.

Striking or not, John's right arm wouldn't stop - it would travel around his body and point out to his back, where the magnets in both arms would re-engage and pull, attaching the left shoulder to the plate as quickly and as evenly as it had disengaged. He would halt his spinning state by digging his right foot into the ground, the dirt crumbling underfoot and ruined armour and weapons scattering as he came to a complete stop, facing his opponant with a wicked grin on his face -

His adrenaline was pumping now. He felt the cut on his real arm with crystal clarity and drank it in, feeling it course through his nerves and charge his soul.

The slash failed and John went sailing past Ryugi. However, Ryugi kept moving forward a step or two after his slash, not being able to fully halt his forward momentum. Speaking of his momentum, Ryugi's forward momentum, and the direction of the swing necessary for the arm to strike Ryugi in the back would ultimately mean that the actual impact of the arm would be severely dampened. Ryugi still felt the metal striking his back, but to a lesser degree, as his body would have been moving away from the impact in the same direction the arm was moving, similar to how a car traveling forty miles an hour would only feel the impact of a car traveling sixty miles per hour as if it was only going twenty.

The strike only caused Ryugi to take an additional step forward and pivot on his heels to face John as the big man stopped to reattach his arm. That was a neat trick. Something of a dull ache was the biggest thing Ryugi's back felt at the moment. Nothing he couldn't fight through and ignore for the greater cause of defeating his opponent. Two clashes, one strike apiece, though Ryugi's was arguably the more painful. But the cut didn't seem to slow the big man down at all, which only served to solidify the argument that John wouldn't be slowed down by Ryugi's own strike either. Trading blows was great and all, but it was slowly beginning to wear thin on Ryugi. This was the mighty Johnathan Tomorrow he was fighting. Surely the man had more than just a penchant for hitting people with his fists or waiting for his opponent to move first.

So, you can keep up with me. I'm glad.

But, let's see how you lead the charge yourself...

Ryugi cracked his neck and placed Ragnarok in front of him, both legs bent and spread, left foot leading. Ryugi had rolled into a prepared battle stance. It was John's turn to throw the first blow.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 4:12 am

"Very well!"

He should've started the strike earlier, aiming for the side instead of the back. But no matter - he had a few more tricks up his sleeve, lack of sleeve not-withstanding.

Ryugi was allowing him an opening, an oppertunity John intended to exploit in its fullest. The two couldn't be more then a few meters apart - that was more then enough space. Spreading his arms wide, his fingers splayed and arms loose, John spread his legs wide, digging them into the dirt as he drew in a breath, keeping his mouth open as he did.

It was time to show the boy just how mighty John Tomorrow was.

Violently he brought his hands together, whipping them both down to smash together, unleashing an ear-splitting BOOM as well as a shockwave which cracked the ground and send the rubble around them into the air like loose rubbish paper, the shockwave blasting towards Ryugi as quickly as the wind turns.

John's Bag O' Tricks
- Thunder Clap -
Spreading his arms wide, John can smash his hands together, creating an concussive blast that has been known to shatter stone and rend metal in a single blast. Radius - 15 meters.

John didn't know if the boy could dodge such an attack, and quite frankly, he didn't care - he was now deafened, a shrill ringing in his ears which would fade quickly due to his pysological makeup, and his right hand felt very numb - but he couldn't sit on ceremony.

If the shockwave had picked Ryugi up - and, judging by the distance between the fighters, that was a strong possibiility, although John wasn't sure on the boy's weight yet - John would run forward as fast as he could, catching up to him to launch a side kick into him as he sailed to the ground, twisting his body across with his momentum to launch his left leg out, aiming for the boy's medsection.

If he weathered the shock-wave - which was equally possible, given the boy's draconic appearance and obvious experience with the greatsword - he would suddenly find himself set upon by John, the Tribal approaching to grab for his sword-hand, attempting to hold it tight in a metallic grip as he twisted his leg out and in between Ryugi's, attempting to unbalance the boy and send him to the ground, whereupon John would twist the arm he held around, locking it painfully straight as he stamped on the boy's neck.

He wouldn't go for the sword immediantly. He had fought too many magical weapon-weilders to go for a weapon that might have defences to it. If Ryugi wished to keep the heavy weapon whislt in an arm lock, he could. If he wanted to drop it - and this arm lock would make a normal man drop anything in his grasp - that was allowed too.

Of course, this was all theory. It all depended on John's initial attack...

Ryugi was alert as the hands came together, the blast of power thundering forward and tearing a crater into the ground as it shot towards Ryugi. However, Ryugi was prepared. His face twisted to a smirk and Ragnarok pulsed as the wave of force washed over him...

Quote:
Blast Shield -
Ryugi charges Ragnarok with energy, creating a shielding force across the blade. The force blocks against energy attacks, but drains stamina equivalent to the amount of energy used to protect against them. The move prevents Ryugi from taking direct attack damage in most cases, but depending on how powerful the opposing attack is, the stamina loss may not effect him noticeably or, at its worst, it could kill Ryugi.

The burst slammed into Ryugi as he jumped into the air, a pulse of brilliant blue energy shielding him from the strike as he used the very attack to give him the momentum necessary to move away unharmed. It would give him more distance than if he had simply stood around and taken the blow, or been knocked skyward by it, as well as make it all the more difficult for John to follow up the blow with anything substantial. Ryugi had been saving his stamina, allowing his buffer to build to incredible levels, the Blast Shield draining little energy overall. If John wanted to strike Ryugi through the shield, he would have to hit harder than that...

Ryugi flew through the air, landing with his legs bent as he roared out a battlecry. Reacting to his vocal outburst, his energy spiked, blasting the grass away from his form as he slammed Ragnarok into the ground with ferocious force. The sword pulsed with searing light and heat as energy shot into the ground, shattering it from the force of impact as a raging torrent of radiant fire erupted towards John in a V shaped burst that carried with it chunks of earth, burned and blackened grass, and heat intense enough to singe most clothing and exposed skin.

In his hybrid state, Ryugi's energy and stamina were such that his battlecry was enough to forge the ambient force in his weapon's blows into superheated blasts of pure kinetic force and air. In this case, Ryugi had pushed more of his own buffer into the attack, charging it with energy to make the force even more powerful, and condense it into a true attack. The Human Dynamo could charge ahead all he liked, but he'd be charging straight into the wall of radiant heat and light unleashed from Ryugi's weapon.

The smirk on Ryugi's face was still present as his brain coined a name for the new move that had been birthed...

Into the Dragon's Maw...

Let's see how you handle it, Johnathan Tomorrow...
PostPosted: Sat Jan 29, 2011 12:26 am

((EDIT - Changed boot-thrust from face to chest. EDIT))

John watched in absolute delight as the boy landed on his own two feet, letting out a battlecry which rivaled his own, and stabbed his sword into the ground, unleashing hell in the process.

He couldn't contain it any longer. He began to laugh as he actually sped up, increasing his speed as the flames and him approached one another - before he was engulfed.

For there a moment, there was only the roar of flame and his laughter, deep and manic - before he emerged from the flames, fire and smoke pluming from his form. His shirt was ablaze, literally burning off his body like tissue paper, but his skin seemed unaffected, singed and peeling - but not roasting.

John's Bag O' Tricks
Asbestos Skin
Due to the massive amounts of electricity that can course through his body, John's biology has adapted to heat quite well. His skin can readily withstand open flames, and anything less then a roaring bonfire's heat would have little, if any, effect on him.

Now pretty much in Rygui's face, John continued with his attack. He reached out with both hands to grasp Ryugi's as they were still holding onto the handle of the sword, wrapping his big mitts over the boy's, keeping him holding onto the trapped sword - as he used the sword as a prop, both legs coming up under him to thrust forward into Ryugi's chest, using his momentum and considerable strength to try and give Ryugi something to remember him by - two bootprints into his chest, possibly dislocation of both arms, and/or a cracked sternum.

Ryugi's flight backwards had given quite enough time to be amazed at John's endurance as he tore through the flames, heat, and force of impact. After all, Ragnarok's strike had been more than a glorified flamethrower, it had carried quite a bit of physical force to it as well. That force would serve to slow the Dynamo down as he raged through the inferno, and give Ryugi even more time. Distance was time, opposing forces were time, and Ryugi was going to use it. John was big, powerful, a brawler. And brawlers, all of them, no matter how big and powerful they were, relied heavily on close range combat and brute strength. Ryugi knew from personal experience, after all.

If the mighty warrior thought that Ryugi was simply going to stand around and let him hold hands, he was quite wrong. While Ryugi might have been holding his sword still, his hands were still behind roughly four feet of solid dragonsteel. Ryugi hadn't stabbed the sword into the ground, he had brought it down horizontally, diagonally, much like an overhead slash. It was time to show a little more oomph. Golden energy surged around Ryugi's body as his bent legs pulsed away from the ground below him before John could get into grabbing range, and Ryugi's form blurred from the intense speed he'd unleashed, as, in an instant, John would find Ryugi roughly fifteen feet away from him as Ragnarok thundered with power along it's entire length...

Quote:
Lightspeed Dash –
Despite the name, Ryugi does not move at light speed. This technique allows Ryugi to boost in a direction for better evasion and speed. Each boosting action drains a small bit of stamina from Ryugi varying on how long the boost is maintained. Ryugi's form appears to blur slightly during this boosting, and stamina drains from his pool. A full post of "Cooldown" is required after the use of a dash before another may be used, preventing spamming of the attack.

However, the dash was just the smallest part of Ryugi's strike. As he tore away from his previous position, John would watch as the energy surging around the weapon pulsed to life and formed up, giving the weapon the appearance of growing to nearly three times its previous length and size as Ryugi's body spun away, his feet skidding along the ground as the ENORMOUS weapon surged around, the glowing monstrosity leaving a roiling, blurring trail of energy as it headed straight for the body of John several feet away. If John thought the blade would suffer any ill effects from being wreathed in energy, or suffer any loss in cutting power, he was sorely mistaken.

Quote:
(Lost Technique) Titan Blade -
Using a combination of his own stamina, energy, and White Reflection, Ryugi forms a mighty blade around his trusted partner in battle, causing the weapon to grow to three times its size for a huge boost to cutting power and range in his swordplay. Rarely used due to the significant drain on his stamina.

A simple duck backwards this time wouldn't save him from the thunderous power of the swinging weapon, and with its increased size, and barely increased weight (due to the blade's energy construction) the cutting force at the blade's tip would be several dozen times more powerful than Ragnarok alone. It was quite possible the blade could rend a solid engine block in twain if wielded with enough pure force. John's arm might have successfully sucked up the blow from the first strike with little damage, but if it were to try and intercept this strike, it was very possible John would lose his arm a second time. After all, the horizontal slash was being brought around with thunderous force towards John's left side, using the last three feet of the now twelve-foot long cutting weapon.

All the while Ryugi's eyes were locked on John's form, watching the man intently and looking for any opening.

He wasn't about to let up now.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 29, 2011 2:59 am

Ryugi's sudden flash back - damn, the boy was quick! - had surprised John, causing him to falter his step. It was rare that a person weilded a greatsword with the deftness that Ryugi had portrayed and still be nimble. Obviously magic was involved - something John didn't hold much weight in - but as the sword grew in height, girth and length, John could see what he was doing.

Rangeplay. He had figured out John's 'weakness' - in order to deal good damage, John needed to get in close, nice and personal, just the way he liked it.

The ridiculously large sword came up, and he went for his shot, swinging the sword to John's left...

But Ryugi's dash would work against him. With more space between them, Ryugi had time to create and swing his sword - but John had time to assess the situation. Not to an analytical degree, but definately enough for his insincts to kick in. With almost animal reflexes, John leapt as Ryugi's sword swung out, twisting his body to the right as he did. He arced his body in time with the sword, his back to the blade as it sailed under him, gripping his hands together to throw his massive bulk around as fast as he could, before he collapsed onto his back with a grunt.

He moved as fast as he could, rolling with his momentum to come up in a crouch, arresting his roll jarringly by jamming his foot into the ground, spinning in the dirt to present his right shoulder to Ryugi - before his right arm suddenly flashed out, his grip on his left hand releasing - to throw the arm at Ryugi!!

The prosthetic limb was 60 pounds, but for a man of strength like John, it would be like throwing a twig. The arm was bent at the elbow into an extended V shape, the hand flat, fingers together. It span around with blinding speed - there was a chance Ryugi wouldn't even know what it was until it was upon him.

Ryugi's swing missed, but he was ready for such an outcome. He halted the motion of the blade and brought it back towards the man as he crouched and chucked his prosthetic limb at him. It wasn't such a stretch to see the limb being used as a weapon of sorts. It had proven itself quite durable, and with the man using it as a club before Ryugi could only assume that the arm was often used as a weapon when opponents refused to allow John to manhandle them.

With a simple step to the side, Ryugi avoided the arm as he brought his second swing across the distance towards John's semi-prone form, his senses still alert and waiting for the man to show something more from his deceptively simple attacks.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 30, 2011 1:28 am

Then he would get his wish.

As John's arm came out, flinging the arm out, static flared from his shoulder, travelling down his arm to fly forth from the palm of his hand, his contained energy suddenly expelled as the arm flew towards to Ryugi.

The bolt was fat and fast, shooting out so hard it blew his hand back, striking the prosthetic arm - before jumping to Ryugi, the next natural conductive point close enough to the arm.

John's Bag 'O Tricks
- Thunder Bolt -
A powerful attack, where John concentrates his power into a single blast of electricity. Anything conductive in it's path is electrocuted, causing the subject to spasm and cook. Especially effective against airborne opponents.

Whilst the blast was nowhere near as powerful as it would've been had it been a direct hit to Ryugi himself, the throwing of the arm garunteed a strike of at least half power. John's energy supply - which he had been storing up til now - was finally being tapped. All the movement he'd been doing had built up his stores, and he'd been hoping to keep enough juice to give the boy a good wallop later down the line - no such luck now.

Even if the strike hit, John still needed to deal with the weapon bearing down on him. Hoping it wouldn't hurt too much, John pulled away with the firing of his Thunder Bolt, using the kick-back to roll away from the blast. This put him just out of the range of the sword - but not before it cut into his flesh on his back as he rolled out, causing him to roar in pain as blood gushed from the wound.

Quote:
*Energy Sight -
Due to the events of the elimination match for Team Phoenix in HoH 2008, Ryugi lost his right eye to an attack by the eliminator. However, in the subsequent healing and recreation of the eye, Hono and Rae did more than simply heal and repair the destroyed ocular organ. Their powers have gifted Ryugi's right eye the ability not only to see again, but to now physically see the manifestations of magical, elemental, and primal energies around him. In combat, this gives him an edge far greater than simply being able to sense the energies around him as he had before. This sight also allows him to see through energy based disguises. Simply put, if its energy related, Ryugi can see it, or see through it, granting him a massive edge on the battlefield.

Ryugi's right eye had been keeping a close watch on John's energy levels throughout the fight. When he saw the telltale flare that signaled an energy attack, he grinned imperceptibly behind the glowing Titan Blade. John was finally pulling out the stops. Lightning, or electrical attacks in general, were notoriously difficult to avoid, much like a bullet, even more difficult to avoid than a bullet, because unlike a bullet, the electrical current could be directed after being unleashed. It took more than beating the gun to beat the electrical pulse in most cases.

The two fighters would trade blow for blow. As the tip of Ragnarok's Titanic state slashed a gash into John's back, the bolt of energy struck Ryugi, forcing his muscles to contract and his insides to burn with pain before it was depleted. Ryugi was used to controlling energy through his body, and used to the searing heat of his flames, allowing him some sense of resistance to the effects of the attack, though not overly so. It still stung, however. Ryugi shook his mind and body free of the "shocking" effects of John's strike as he stared back at the big man.

It was time to cut his losses. As expected, John had showcased elemental manipulation from a distance common with most electrical elementals, just like Ryugi's pupil Damrius. While a massive sword was fantastic for delivering powerful strikes from a distance, it also served to make the weapon too large to wield in much more than overhead slashes and side swipes. As John recovered from the cut to his back, the Titan Blade would pulse, the energy shrinking back down along the length of the blade, returning to Ryugi's stores.

Ryugi didn't wait to strike after returning Ragnarok to its natural shape. He charged in, the shimmering metal blade glinting in the light. So John could use his arm as a lightning rod? It was a clever trick, but Ryugi had tricks of his own. With powerful force, Ryugi swung the blade over his head before dropping it in a slash, a blade of crackling light energy surging forth from the sword to strike at John's form, the tip of the sword immediately snapping up to face John, continuing to keep a distance between the two of them. The lightning was fast, but it would still have to get through Ragnarok before it could strike Ryugi, and the same went for John himself...
PostPosted: Sun Jan 30, 2011 2:15 am

As John recovered from his backward roll, he came to his feet with a roar. The bleeding would slow in a short while, but for now, his pants were soaked in it, and the pain burned like a fierce fire.

The boy retracted his energy sheath over the sword, and John took the oppertunity to advance, his eyes beginning to spark wildly as he approached. As Ryugi slashed the sword down, the beam of light flashing forward, John would suddenly spin to the left, the beam only narrowly missing his bare shoulder - if his arm had been there, it would've been lopped off...

...but it was not. And that was to John's advantage.

John's Bag 'O Tricks
Dead Weight -
With the loss of his prosthesis, John loses his left arm - but one loss is also a gain. Losing that weight increases John's speed and agility enough to matter. Any balance aspects are negated by the time spent refining use of the prosthesis - he cannot wear it forever, after all.

Having avoided the beam, John would stalk forward quickly, straight towards Ryugi's sword-point - before his hand would flash out, looking to strike the sword by it's thick, heavy flat, using his prodigiuous strength to knock it out of his way as he got even closer to Ryugi, looking to get right up into his face before unleashing his attack - a powerful spark which emitnated from his body, almost like an explosion of energy, as he thrust his left, bare shoulder into Ryugi's body. The thrust would normally stagger the enemy - with a load of electricity put into it, it would be devestating.

John moved to smack the sword away from Ryugi's grip, attacking the tip, but Ryugi still had two hands on the handle of the blade, which quickly changed to one as Ryugi acted quickly. As John smacked the blade, Ryugi's right arm pulled the handle to the side, causing the huge weapon to pivot so that the sword effectively lay flat against Ryugi's body as the big man came in for his brutal rush, Ryugi's right eye seeing the buildup of energy. It was only logical to put two and two together. Brute force plus electricity would force an opponent into submission more quickly than virtually any other set of elements. Combined with John's stocky nature, it made a perfect complimentary force. However, the ease of the combination meant it was very simple to put two and two together.

With Ragnarok's size acting as a razor sharp shield between John and Ryugi, the shoulder check would slam into Ryugi, and the energy from the release would head directly into Ragnarok...

Quote:
Energy Absorption –
Ragnarok absorbs energy from attacks or other source (Direct feeding from Ryugi) and stores for Special Attacks, no damage, and basis for all special sword attacks. Ragnarok can hold energy of its own, and must draw from Ryugi for attacks over a certain level of power. These attacks are assisted by Ragnarok's own strength, and thus cause less stamina to be lost than an attack of equal strength done by Ryugi alone.

Electricity was also the purest form of energy available in the elemental world, and the energy would rush into the weapon, charging it like a battery, draining it away from John, as well as protecting Ryugi from its shocking properties. The force, however, was a different story, but Ryugi had a plan for that as well, and it might have been different than John would have thought.

With the sword acting like a sponge to draw away any energy that the big man tried to throw at Ryugi during their clash, Ryugi's legs would brace against the impact, meeting the force of the man with his own 300 pound bulk, rather than using John's imparted force to gain more distance. With his legs braced against John's ramming attack, Ryugi would unleash every ounce of his draconic strength, and with a thunderous battle cry, push back against Johnathan Tomorrow and aim to bring the sword between them after throwing him stumbling backwards, aiming for a very dangerous and wounding slice across the stomach.

Ryugi could play close range as well...
PostPosted: Sun Jan 30, 2011 3:04 am

There were other reasons John kept pressing forward, driving the smaller man back, causing the two of them into a impass. The two men would press, John fighting against Ryugi's forward shove as well, roaring in the man's face as he shoved that metal base embedded in the side of his chest into the flat of the sword, his eyes sparking wildly...

...As Ryugi would suddenly be attacked from behind!

John's Bag 'O Tricks
Prosthetic Return -
Once the auto-mail arm has been released, John can also call it back at any time by activating the magnets embedded in his shoulder plate, forcing the arm to come back to it's home. These magnets are unique, in that they don't attract other metals - only the arm is drawn to the shoulder plate. John does not have infinite range, however - he still needs to be relatively close to it in order for it to return. He also needs some power in his reserves in order to activate the magnet in his shoulder.

As soon as he'd unleashed his Thunder Bolt, he'd reactivated the magnets in his shoulder. The pull had been weak to begin with - but it would've still worked, the arm dragging slowly across the ground by its stump as John rammed into Ryugi. Now at a stand-still, however, and his power flaring through his body, the arm had picked up speed, racing towards John before lifting off the ground like a missile, looking for its home - unfortunately, this meant it would have to travel through Ryugi in order to do so, smashing into him like a blunt battering ram.

The Return was not from a power, however - it was all from the stump. Power flowed through it, but it wasn't what activated the return magnets - that was a radio signal, coming from the plate itself. All Ryugi's Spirit Eye would see was John forcing power through his body - nothing else.

"You're good son..." John growled, before suddenly twisting his body, his right fist snaking around to attempt to slam into Ryugi's side, twisting his body around to deliver the blow hard enough to knock the man off his feet, releasing him from the crushing effect of the arm at his back and his own sword pressing into him. "...But I'm better!" He would roar as his arm slipped from Ryugi's back, and back into his plate, binding his fingers together - and slam his fists into the ground in front of Ryugi.

John's Bag 'O Tricks
- Rolling Thunder -
Lifting both arms high, John can bring them down on the ground before him, sending a shock-wave into the ground around him. This can disorient and unbalance his opponents, as well as send up a dust cloud with envelopes John. Radius - 25 meters.

The shockwave would roll forward, blowing chunks of rock and dirt in all directions. If Ryugi managed to keep on his feet after the punch to his kidneys, he would lose his footing now, and possibly get crushed under the debris in the process.

Ryugi had eyes that could see many things. He also had a pretty significant sense of smell that he had used more than once to his advantage in combat. But rather than that, he also had exceptional hearing. A large object moving through the air had more resistance from the air molecules, and therefore created more sound vibrations. The bigger the object, the louder it was. The faster it moved, the louder it was as well. In short, Ryugi heard the arm coming.

But what he did in retaliation would probably surprise the big man.

Ryugi suddenly relented against the opposing force of John and spun away with a short hop, his legs bending, the limb quickly making its way back to its master. Meanwhile, it was totally possible that John would stumble forward a step or two after the force blocking him had been removed. This also meant that Ryugi would avoid the punch to his side.

But while John regained his composure and had the arm quickly snap back into place, Ryugi would already be attacking. In the same flurry of motion, he would cast Ragnarok into the air, the weapon spinning violently above the battlefield as energy surged along Ryugi's fist as his feet dug in, and with a mighty show of pure power, Ryugi shot forward with so much strength that the ground under his feet cracked from the force. The only thing that limited his speed here was his pure strength, and with John stumbling from Ryugi's relent, he would be vastly unprepared for the thunderous blow aimed directly into his midsection with enough power to punch a very large chunk into a brick wall.

Not only that, but if the blow connected, the energy surging along Ryugi's arm would erupt forward into a thunderously powerful explosive punch, sending a concussive blast through John's midsection with enough of a shock to shatter human bone. Indeed, the power from the attack would be such that if it connected, not only would it send John's form several dozen feet downrange with seriously injured insides and lacerations across his side, but the bones in Ryugi's right hand would also be cracked from the power of the blow, showcasing just how strong the draconic warrior was in his own right without his weapon, even as it continued to spin above the battlefield...
