Boy you got me wanting more, more, more! Give it all up for love, babe! 64 I'm reading about how we might not update our airforce. My IR teacher was talking about how the US is annoyed that Canada is not really pulling its weight militarily in NATO.

66 Canada and Australia are not that much into using their military forces in places such as Afghanistan, Iraq or the waters off Somalia.

70 That's why both countries are known to some as "silent superpowers", along with Britain and to a lesser extent, New Zealand.

74 They have considerable economic and even military leverage. Japan, even though their economy is not doing well, is a silent superpower because of their economy and their self-defense forces. China and India are emerging superpowers, along with Brazil and Russia.

Boy you got me wanting more, more, more! Give it all up for love, babe! 76 I thought that Japan limited their military to avoid repeating WWII or something like that? confused I definitely think that China will become a new superpower and rival the US. I'm pretty sure Russia fell out of the loop with the fall of the USSR.

78 They did. But seeing as Japan needed to defend itself especially from North Korea, they had no other choice but to create the Japan Self-Defense Force (JSDF). As for Russia, they have been getting a lot out of economics as of late. Same goes for their military. South Korea has a strong economy and a strong army. South Korea needs a strong army to counter North Korea.

82 Yes, and if the two Koreas reunite, it better be under the banner of Joseon. Otherwise, the unification would not last that long.
