As promised, Battleaxe is supplying the guild with pics from the San Diego Comic Con. I will probably remove the pictures in a few weeks, because they eat up room in my limited photobucket account. sweatdrop I also have more, but *ahem* I'm in them...and...well....you try to look good after walking shoulder to shoulder with thousands of other sweaty people, carrying huge bags of swag. stare You need to get to the convention center early to get good parking, and then you have to stand
in a loooong line to get in. Incidentally, that line was just to get into the Warner Brothers panel, where I got to see preview clips from upcoming movies (V for Vendetta, The Fountain, Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride, and Harry Potter 4) and talk to various people from the films. This time it was Natalie Portman, Joel Silver, and Rachel Weiss.
Once you get into the convention center, you are surrounded by 2 football fields worth of booths. They range from
small booths for independent artists (and the occasional Playboy bunny)...to
large booths like the Viz booth here. (That line is for the free canvas bag they were giving away.) There are also movie studio booths, like the LGF booth. This year they featured the new Rob Zombie movie, "Devil's Rejects."
The cast came down to the booth to sign autographs. My boyfriend was really excited to see meet them. He made me go the the panel discussion too.
stare Rob Zombie is very sarcastic (in a funny way)!
xd Don't forget the cosplayers! I managed to get pics of
Batman and Catwoman, and the cast of
Trigun. But it was a really good year for Star Wars...
the usual stormtroopers and bounty hunters,
General Grievous, and (my favorite)
Princess Leia.
Chewbacca here isn't cosplay, per say...but I thought it was cool to see him in lego.
Oh - and there was
sword-fighting outside. Willy Wonka was there, but he ran away before I could get a picture. Damn.
Um...yeah....sorry the pictures aren't better! I was pretty swept up in the whole atmosphere as usual.
