I see, that will be a neat one then, the story itself doesnt say much about the history of Oz so much if I remember correctly. ^8^

I hope it turns out to be a good one. 3nodding

I hope so too. 3nodding

Would love to see more about the Good Witch of The West as well. ^8^

I think you got a little turned around, Giesta. whee Do you mean of the Good Witch of the North? Or the Wicked Witch of the West?
West & East = evil
North & South = heart

I meant of the North, lol

Thanks for point that out, I had gotten my directions mixed. ^8^

lol We all do at some point. That's what compasses are for. 3nodding
But, yeah, a little history on Glinda would be cool. That's one of the things I love about 'Wicked' (the book, not the musical...although the musical is pretty good too...). The author gives such a detailed history of the main 3 witches of Oz and in such an adult way. I mean, the musical makes it friendly for all ages, but the the book? It is definitely not for kids! What I'm wondering with this new movie is if they're going to do a prequel to the Judy Garland movie or if they want to start a whole new thing and maybe stay true to the original books?

3nodding I had to learn to use a compass in Boy Scouts once, didnt work out very well. sweatdrop

I have to get "Wicked" sounds like an awesome book. I have heard about it but havent ever tried to read it or go get it at our Public Library.

We will have to see, but there are a lot of them that re-make the orginal Wizard Of Oz movie out there, even one that palces the story earlier in around early WW1 era that I saw a movie of once.

Not sure though about that eye, hmmmmmmmmmmm could it also be from some old cartoon?

I though it might be Charlie Chaplin I love the old movies and stuff he acted in (I have some re-stored movies I bought from F.Y.E a while back.)

He was an avid RPG player, (W.O.W, and such.) And he was an awesome D&D Dungeon Master what time me and my buddies got to play D&D.

He also played Vampire Masquerade, and I played it a bit to though not as much as D&D.

(I was a Tinker Gnome.) ^8^
Wars come and go,

I am not familiar with Vampire Masquerade. I know very little about D&D because it was not accepted in my house when I was younger. My parents were extremely picky as to what they allowed their children to get into, but that didn't stop me from doing a few things that they didn't like.

Now... World of Warcraft is something that I know about very well. I have a level 85 night elf death knight spec'ed in Blood as the main and Unholy as the minor. He is my pride in that game as he is the only one that I have cared enough to get to 85.

Of course, you can't assume that I haven't been playing for years even though my DK is my pride in that game. I played for three years before getting into the relationship with my ex-fiancee and dropped it after getting into the relationship because of the fact that she said that it was taking too much of our time together. I picked it back up for a little while during the Christmas break this last year, and then played it a little before getting into the "relationship" that I was in after that.

but my soldiers stay eternal.

Vampire the Masquerade was sort of like D & D only the races were different kinds of Vampires mostly with a few odd species thrown in like werewolf's and such to add spice to the game.

He loved WOW, and had it as far back as the days when you could play it on the Playstation 2 with an internet connection hooked up on it.

I think he liked Druids and as well the one I forget which one but it had like "Deathtouch" or "Shadowtouch"? as an ability?

Anyway, yes, you should definitely read 'Wicked'! It's a pretty awesome book. It has two sequels and a 4th book in the works, if you end up liking it.

I don't know if you ever saw it, but the Wizard of Oz had an unofficial sequel that was done in the 80s. It's called Return to Oz. When I first watched it, I had nightmares of a certain witch character for a very long time. I didn't watch it again until just recently, and it's not that bad! The graphics and the acting aren't amazing, but it's a decent movie. 3nodding

3nodding I remember some of the stuff from Boy Scouts but only a bit. lol

^8^ Have to see about it at some point, I can get to Barnes & Noble and see what they have it priced as.

I though I had heard it had a few squeals out there, I bet it will be awesome. 3nodding

I think I may have seen it and a few others odds and ends movies supposedly related to Wizard Of Oz. 3nodding

No prob! wink I also recommend the other books by that author. The only other book I read from him was 'Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister' and it was also really good. I'm in the process of reading the 3rd installment in the 'Wicked' series and 'Mirror, Mirror', and they're both starting to look promising. 3nodding

I only just started it, but it's a grown up re-telling of 'Snow White', much like 'Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister' is a grown up re-telling of Cinderella from a different point of view. 3nodding The ending has an interesting twist...

Well, yeah, since we were talking about retelling of fairy tales, I remembered this artist who's pretty awesome. She did a series of paintings based on Cinderella, and this is one of my top 3 favorites of the series. These are the other two:
