One bullet hit him square in the chest, he shuddered, and fell into the icy ocean. He sighed, this was going to take some training to handle. He surfaced, and activated God Syndrome, quickly and elegantly leaping out of the water, and becoming a blurr, heading incredibly fast towards Haven, and the precious healing.

Leo put his coat back on and walked off of the docks. He took out a blood packet. He drank the contents as he walked into the city. His mouth red with the blood as some of it ran down his lips.

Olathe smiled as she hung up the phone. Her sister was still the same old Sibyl that she remembered, at least it sounded that way. The lycans of New York hadn't managed to change her all that much and she apparently remembered her discipline routines so all seemed well. It was good to hear from her sister seeing as they hadn't talked since Sibyl had left to go and help out the New York pack. They really hadn't had the time to talk since the La Push pack had been dealing with a number of vampires in the area and Sibyl had apparently been busy as well.

The female wolf decided to take a momentary rest at the edge of the dock where she could overlook the water and admire just how beautiful a scene it truly was. It was dumbfounding to think that such a calming and reliable source could prove to be the most deadly element of all. Water could overcome anything so long as there was enough of it and that was a scary thought to make an understatement. However, Olathe just smiled at the thought and wondered if her sister had been here to admire the water since she knew Sibyl loved watching the water dance even more than she did.

Roth walked slowly into the park, he had blacked out outside of Sybil's apartment due to exhaustion and a strange pill he had found on the street which he thought was a Mento's. He saw the stranger at the side of the dock and said nothing for a while, he wasn't good around Strangers. His internal battle for the courage to say Hello raged on for around ten minutes until he finally gulped and tried to walk away, his foot got partially caught in the boards and he fell flat on his face with a loud shout of pain. He unsteadily got to his feet, "Erm, hello there" He said quietly to her, she was a Lycan, she would hear him. He walked forwards and and sits down at the edge, yawning. He didn't say anything for a while, then said "What brings you to New York?" It was the only question that sprang to mind so he ran with it.

Olathe would have jumped to her feet and prepared for combat had she not sensed and smelled the clumsy lycan approaching behind her. It was easy enough to tell that he wasn't going to attack her since he was passive-aggressive to make an understatement. Apparently he was more of a social reject than Sibyl was and that kind of took a lot to get to that point. It made her smile and he reminded her a little of her sister, though her sister probably coulder have made it much closer before she'd have sensed her presence.

"Hello," Olathe said to him as she continued to look out onto the water as though something was going to happen, "clumsy one. Glad to see you finally mustered the courage to speak up." It was pretty apparent that she was a psychic and she'd been tuning into his thoughts. "What brings me to New York? How do you know I haven't lived here my entire life? I haven't lived here ever but it's still a possibility. On the other hand, I'm here because of my little sister, Sibyl."

Roth's mouth opened and closed several times, "Well erm you see you seem to be out of town because I haven't seen you around before but of course I haven't seen every Lycan in New York so I shouldn't make assumptions about people I guess, erm.." He flailed pathetically, he wasn't good in verbalising his thoughts and so usually talked gibberish until he could figure out something relevant to reply with. "Ahh, Sybil?" He replied with, finding a thread of conversation he knew and clinging desperately onto it. "I wasn't aware she had Siblings, but then again I don't know ehr that well... and Wait there is probably more than one Sybil in New York and I'm assuming things I'm sorry.." He ended with lamely, looking at his feet slightly.

"Is she in trouble? Or am I just prying? I'm sorry" He said again, keeping his eyes on his feet like a shy child; he wasn't the most impressive person and this sibling of Sybil was more dynamic than him in many ways, so he felt slightly intimidated. "I'm Roth, proffessional shy moron, may I ask your name?" He said, clinging to Manners until he could dredge up some personality. He wasn't just nervous about the conversation, he was nervous because he could feel the so called Calm before the storm, and it was a feeling that went straight through him like a snake. He fidgeted for a while, then said "Listen, I'm sorry for coming off as nervous, I'm not the best man of words... in fact I am a wet fish when it comes to any conversation above 'Hello I'm Roth'"

"Ah," Olathe said with a smile, glad to see that he learned her intentional lesson, "glad to see that you learn quickly. You've a sharp mind about you so far so perhaps you'll find that you're of use to your pack more so in that given area. After all, a pack functions by remaining together and compensating one's strengths for another's weaknesses. Isn't that the point of a pack? I'd think so." She was evidently wise and older in age than Sibyl was, a lot more experienced with wisdom to spare. Her lessons were taught quickly and simplisticly so that most would understand them quickly. As was the way of her pack and Sibyl's former pack.

The fact that the lycan before her was nervous didn't seem to bother her in the least as she continued to watch the water. However, a smile caught her lips as he mentioned Sibyl to her and apologized for assuming that there was only one Sibyl in New York that was a wolf. "Well, you can use your reasoning skills for that one and deduct the fact that I wouldn't be related to any human Sibyl. However, that would mean I would be related to a wolven Sibyl, which there might be more than one of. Good, you've learnt. It's nice to see youths that are still willing to learn. However, you should also keep in mind that while your submission is good, the fact that you emit no confidence in yourself will attract those who prey on the weaker to you and your bretheren may not show you the respect you deserve. I know my father would look down upon you for sure."

She decided that she would let him ponder about her words while she shifted over to the topic of her little sister. "No trouble that she's alerted me to, should I be worrying about her?" She then smiled again at him saying sorry for the second time in the conversation and it'd barely been a few minutes. "No need to say sorry for something that doesn't require being sorry for. You're not genuinely sorry for that, you'll forget it later on so no need to apologize for it. And as for my name, I'm Olathe Black, related to Sibyl Black. If you've met Sibyl Black then you've met my little sister and probably notice we're what you'd call ... different?"

Being quite in tune with other's minds and thoughts, Olathe easily sensed Roth's unease without even having to read his mind. Her little sister would have been able to sense his unease as well, Sibyl's instincts were very in tune and accurate, something her father had always admired in her little sister. "No need to be nervous. If you're nervous before the calm of the storm then it's all the more likely that you're going to get caught up in the storm while you're sitting there muddling over it since you won't notice it looming over you. Hm ... Words can be tricky, if we think too much of them then it's difficult to come up with them but if we disregard them too much then they also come out wrong and can create misunderstandings. Don't think too hard but make sure you say what you're meaning to say. It's fine, I'm not of many words myself, our entire pack is on the more silent side if you've observed Sibyl at all."

A red, three motor speed boat roared into the docks. There were only three creatures on board: Shin, Vincent and Fran. Shin was Alasdair’s right hand man. He was a tanned vampire with spiky pitch black hair and a long midnight blue trench coat.

The boat pulled up to the dock and stopped, without turning off the motor. Shin leaped out of the boat and onto the pier. He was wearing black trousers with black combat boots, and his crimson eyes wandered around the dock as the other two creatures said their farewells and sped off again.

Shin spotted two lycans sitting in the overlooking the water, and since Shin knew that Alasdair was planning a general mutt hunting, he knew that he had to take them down. So he began to walk towards them, moving his arm against the P90 that was inside his coat and hanging against his side.

Olathe was upon her feet the moment the vampire began to approach them, her nose quite in tune with everything that had been going on as well as everyone's first-hand intentions and fore-most thoughts. This vampire was apparently working under another vampire that was planning to hunt down a swarm of lycans so before that was to happen, she planned to kill this vampire without so much as a second thought. Of course, she had no idea how skilled he was and she definitely wasn't going to underestimate him so she'd play safe for the time being until she learned a little more about him. However, judging from the gun he had, he didn't have all that much going for him at first glance.

She'd already risen from her spot so the next thing to be done was to turn and face her opponent, letting no weakness show or overcome her. She simply smiled and became a blur after that. There was to be no exchange of words between them unless the vampire chose to address her. She preferred when fights were actually clean without the mental distraction of verbally fighting as well. There was no need for words for the vampire's intentions were clear to her and his intentions would be his undoing and the final mistake he made.

Olathe actually flew past the vampire, completely passing him without so much as touching him though the current that she'd generated whipped at him as she passed by. She then whipped around once again and went straight for his back, intending on shoving him forward in a full-force tackle of brute strength combined with extreme speed and momentum. However, if he was a quick one then he might actually manage to partially get out of the way, which would force her to veer around or dive into the water for a few moments. However, water was a brutal place to fight a vampire for it was their element of choice. Fighting in the water would definitely place her at a disadvantage.

Roths eyes became like steel as he saw the Vampires approaching, he quickly jumped to his feet and started to grow fur, however he stopped mid-transformation and became more Human than Wolf, it was a skill he'd learnt back in Philadelphia, the ability to stop at one of the stages of Change before the actual half-human half-wolf and eventually full wolf, he was currently on one quarter wolf, but he planned on going further if the need was to arise. He quickly flipped Rifle around from his back and fired five shots, aimed with pin-point precision for the Vampire and his companions, before he saw how they reacted or if they got hit he ran to the side and jumped on a pile of Crates, firing another shot at the First Vampire. He saw that Olathe could hold her own in battle and decided to Target the other two, he went onto all fours and smashed his fist onto one of the crates underneath him, the tip gave in and he fell into the crate, quickly doing the same to the next one down and next one down until he reached the floor, he grinned and smashed that, they were currently over water, and he was never a good swimmer; he gripped onto the side of the hole and swung around into the hole, he then curled his fingers in between the gaps in the floorboards and used it as a child would use the monkey bars on a Jungle Gym. He went around a metre across the Boards and then smashed a patch of it in front of him, he leapt up through it and was directly in front of the boat, before they could react he pulled out his Rifle and shot five times, two times against each Vampire, then one shot in the direction of the motor.

Shin was not an amateur fighter. The second he had sensed the lycans, he was in high alert and so where his companions. The first thing that alerted him was the two shots fired at him by one of the lycans. Shin grinned and quickly dodged them by leaping to the side. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he saw the other lycan charging at him. He knew that the female would run by him, since he could read her thoughts. As soon as he saw her, he probes her mind for the freshest thoughts.

Immediately, he found out she was also a psychic, he also read her attack and how to dodge it. Shin grinned and created a block on his mind. It would limit his mental capabilities but it was necessary against a psychic. So the vampire followed the lycan with his crimson eyes, turning as she passed him. He had to hold his ground briefly since the lycan’s speed created slight push with the wind. Then he knew that she was planning on charging at him. So by the time she was heading towards him, the vampire had bent his knees, ready to leap over the lycan.

So as soon as the female was within feet, Shin leapt forward. He leaped fifteen feet from the ground, straightening in midair and revolving so that he would land facing the same direction as the charging lycan. He knew that she was carrying massive momentum, so she could not attack him while he was in midair. Since his Semi-Automatic rifle was in his arms reach, he quickly took hold of it and as soon as his head was facing the ground he aimed his gun at the passing lycan. Since he had a vampire’s reaction speed, he could easily aim at the passing lycan and pull the trigger. A sudden flow of silver nitrate bullets was unleashed aimed at the passing lycan. Then Shin landed swiftly on the ground and stopped firing.

Vincent and Fran were two Asian vampires that were combat trained and had centuries of experience in death dealing. They were specialized in combat, no psychic powers or voice usage, but they had developed their finesse and agility almost to perfection. Both of them had combat clothing and a thin chest armor that could take minimal damage, they could not wear anything that would get ruined with water.

So once they heard the first shots from the rifle they quickly jumped into the water. They swam a few dozen feet, disappearing into the darkness of the deep. Since they had no need to breath, no bubbles spoiled their secret.

As soon as the motor of the boat exploded, they saw the lycan’s position, thanks to the giant torch. The looked at each other and grinned. They quickly swam to the surface, rising on the other side of the pier. They both saw the lycan and aimed their M16 rifles, loaded with armor piercing silver rounds. They were specially designed to make the tip strong enough to pierce through the thickest armor or hide. Siddenly they both fired on the mutt, with a combined number of thirty five rounds that would shred the colums that held the pier and the lycan.

Olathe sighed to herself as she realized that this vampire was definitely an older one that'd honed his mind-reading skills since she could feel him probing her for her thoughts. That certainly wasn't going to be very convenient for her so she'd just have to block him out of her mind since otherwise she'd be giving him every single attack idea that she was following through with. And being able to predict someone's moves as they were executing them wasn't the most convenient seeing as they were pretty simple to counter. All in all, it was more convenient to mask what she was doing as opposed to trying to probe his mind for what he might be doing. She knew how to rely on her instinct, it was fairly faithful.

As she slammed past the vampire without touching him due to her little thoughtless moment, she realized that she'd left her back to him. Of course the little beast wouldn't face her in hand-to-hand so he had to bring out his stupid gun and fire at her. However, unbeknownst to Olathe, silver nitrate bullets existed and silver was actually something she was highly intolerant to. She wasn't really aware of this due to the fact that her pack didn't deal with vampires that used guns for technology, they used tazers. Tazers were deadly to Olathe and Sibyl's kind and it caused their form to become highly unstable, so much so that they could literally fall out of themselves, their wolven and human sides seperate and doomed.

It really sucked to be her at the moment and she decided that she would try her best to dodge as many of the bullets as she could while maintaining her momentum so as not to get slammed by all the bullets at once. She kept her pace and raced to the edge of the dock, which wasn't too far away by the time she'd passed Shin since nothing had been there to slow her down. She was now racing the bullets that were quickly gaining on her and she felt two rip into her back before she managed to jump off the dock and hang onto the ledge of it while the other bullets zoomed past.

Her back was actually in some serious pain and she could feel these bullets emitting some sort of liquid into her. She knew that it couldn't be anything good so before the bullets fully released the silver inside them, she ripped out the bullets and with them some of the skin around them. Of course, she'd already hopped back up onto the dock in order to pull them out of her back. Despite the fact that she'd just ripped her out skin out of her back, though, there wasn't a single wince that came from her as she did so and her composure was completely stoic. Her pain threshold was obviously very high since she'd been able to bring herself to injure herself without showing any signs of being in pain.

She rose from her kneeling position and then began to slowly prowl toward the vampire that'd shot her in the back. Apparently he wasn't going to go down really easily but she was curious to see just how tough this New York vampire was. She kept an easy and steady pace toward him, resembling the wolf that she truly was in the style and manner that she approached him in. Her eyes were on him, they never left him. And at the same time she knew her surroundings and where she was.

Shin smiled as he saw the lycanthrope stand on at the end of the pier. He could smell the blood and the silver slowly intertwining. But then something highly unexpected happened, the beast reached to her back and ripped the meat right from her body like if it was nothing. Quite the disturbing sight but nothing that the vampire had not seen before. So Shin did not even flinch when the lycan threw the meat from her back to the ground. He was too busy concentrating to care.

As soon as the beast began walking towards Shin, he began applying pressure on her mind. While she was far away she would have been able to control it if she used her own psychic powers, but as she got closer the pressure would begin to build, to the point where if she were to get close enough to touch him, the pressure would be enough to squish a normal brain.

“I see you are as ruthless as the rest of the mutts” Shin voiced as he aimed his SMG at the lycanthrope as she walked towards him. A small smile curled his lip as his pale blue eyes examined the beast. “You will probably die here.”

Olathe's body was aching from the pain she'd brought onto herself by ripping her own flesh out but she knew that the bullets that'd hit her were intended to inject something into her blood stream. Whatever he'd been planning to inject into her blood stream, well, she didn't want it there since it was clearly supposed to serve the purpose of disabling her somehow to give her a disadvantage. So the alternative had been ripping her own flesh out with her brute strength. And of course any normal human would die from the blood loss and most lycans would howl at the damage she'd dealt to herself but Olathe had been trained for years and years on how to block out her pain. So far the training was working out for her and she was able to resist the pain.

She felt the slight pressing on her mind but it was very minimal and if she focused on blocking it out then she would be able to get close enough to him to deal damage to him. She then smiled as she began to pick up speed, heading toward him at an angle so he wasn't allowed a head-on shot at her. It was only a matter of moments before she'd be upon him again and when she reached him, she'd shred his stupid gun to bits and then work on that throat of his. Instinct charged her to go for the stomach but her father specially trained their entire pack to go for the throat and legs, just as humans taught guard dogs to do so. They were more vital points and puncturing a vampire's stomach didn't do all that much to them. Decapitating a vampire didn't necessarily kill it but it definitely began to drain the collected blood in them out of them, their sustenance so they hastily grew tired and sloppy at fighting.

"Hm," she said with a smile as she danced toward him, purely predatorial grace on her part, "I'd like to think I'm not a mutt. Especially considering my parents are both of the same tribe and they were both wolves." It was apparent with Olathe, that just like Sibyl, her little sister, that the heart of an animal beat inside her body as opposed to a human heart. She'd never truly been a human, she'd always been wild, free, alive, untamed. "I surely hope not. Don't get too cocky, vampire, the battle's only started. You underestimate me and you just might be the one eating those words as I shove my first up your throat." She smiled pleasantly as if they were speaking casually and loped toward him, picking up speed.

Shin grinned as the lycanthrope began talking to him, moving forward. He remained motionless, but still aimed his SMG at the coming opponent. Shin moved his hand to his side holding the hilt of a silver bladed combat knife, but his hand was covered by his midnight long coat.

The vampire narrowed his eyes and concentrated on the beast before him. Then he began to walk towards the moving beast. He quickly shifted his position so that he was moving head on towards her. He began moving faster towards her, but he made no attack. He remained completely alert, the slightest movement by the mutt and he would react instantly.
