Miri: The way ThinkGeek uses the word "lethal" there, they're using it as the third definition meaning gravely damaging or destructive, also devistating. They also say it "still provides a pungent and spicy punch," meaning it's had to have been eaten before. I'm pretty sure they're not saying it causes death.
Edit: I'm going to go do some research quick to check anyhow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CapsaicinQuote: In large quantities, capsaicin can be a lethal poison. Symptoms of overdose include difficulty breathing, blue skin, and convulsions. While the large amount needed to kill an adult human being and the low concentration of capsaicin in chiles make accidental poisioning by chili consumption exceedingly unlikely, capsaicin has been implicated in some cases of infanticide in India. I'm thinking that if you eat a block of it pure, you die, but if you eat a bunch of peppers, you're less likely to become poisoned.

http://www.fiery-foods.com/dave/cap_od7.htmlQuote: Aside from the above possible adverse effects, the super-hot sauces will not seriously harm you. "Comprehensive nutritional studies have not shown any adverse effects of chile or capsaicinoids even at ten times the maximum use levels," wrote the one world’s experts on capsaicin, V.S. Govindarajan, author of the mammoth study, Capsicum--Production, Technology, Chemistry and Quality. But even if you do overindulge in super-hot sauces, do not worry, for they are quickly metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine within a few hours. (Excerpted from The Chile Pepper Encyclopedia, by Dave DeWitt, William Morrow & Co., 1999). Yet there's also this. The page I linked is much larger than the quote I pulled from it. Apparently from scientific studies done, it's killed rats and other rodents by them "drowning" in it, and most likely having "respiratory paralysis." They assume the amount of capsaicin needed to kill a human would be 13 grams, however that's only if we were as sensitive as mice were.

I find it amusing how humans love to ingest things that were originally created by plants to defend themselves. capsaicin, oxygen...
