Just a little farther...just a little farther...and there it was! Kurine walked happily into Violet for the first time. She let her Cyndaquil out of his pokeball so he could see the town as well. She left Sentret alone for now, though.

"Wow! It's a lot bigger than New Bark Town, huh, Cyndaquil?" Kurine asked her pokemon, a smile on her face. "Cynda!" Cyndaquil agreed, sniffing at the ground, and then running to catch up with Kurine. She headed to the Pokemon Center, where she handed Nurse Joy Sentret's pokeball, and then Cyndaquil's after returning him.

Not to long later, she was back outside, standing in front of the gym, just to look it over for now. She wanted to train more before challanging Falkner, since she wasn't quite sure how strong his pokemon were. Kurine looked around, spotting some somewhat-tall grass, and then half-jogged over to it. She stepped in carefully, pushing the grass aside in hope of finding a pokemon hiding there.

"Aw," Gwen grumbled, snapping her fingers in disappointment. "Maybe I should teach Protect to some of my Pokemon..." she mumbled, adjusting her glasses while she thought of her next move. Gwen looked at the sludge covering the ground and shuddered, then up at the round Pokemon in front of her Swalot. "Let's get a little physical," she giggled, pointing at Shelgon. "All right Molasses, give 'em a good old-fashioned Body Slam!"

The large purple Pokemon pushed itself forward, its stubby arm-like appendages wriggling with anticipation. Somehow the Pokemon gained momentum as it lumbered forward, preparing to slam itself into the dragon Pokemon. Gwen knew that this technique had overwhelmed quite a few of their opponents in the past, but she wasn't quite so sure the Shelgon would be defeated so easily.

((Aw... look at the crummy little post. D: ))

The Swalot's sudden movement caught both Jaeshan and Shelgon off guard, and the large, purple Pokemon's rubbery body slammed into the smaller Dragon, forcing her to dig in her heels a little to keep from sliding back too far. Shelgon let out an angry growl as she pushed against her opponent, finding that she outweighed the Swalot but a fair margin. The heavy shell on her back was quite the deciding factor in that case.

"Hang in there, Shelgon!" Jaeshan yelled. "Don't let it push you around! Fight back with Headbutt!" His mind was already flooded with possibilities of what Shelgon's final evolution could be, and he struggled to keep those thoughts on the back burner and focus on the battle right now.

Grunting, Shelgon broke the hold the Swalot had on her, and took a few steps back. She charged forward then, shaking the ground with each step as she flung her heavy body into the mass of purple, hoping to land a good hit in retaliation for the Body Slam she'd just suffered.

Mag was sitting at the table happily munching on Spaghetti and Meatballs with his two Grandparents. They had the constant small talk of the weather, Mag's pokemon, the Pokemon they'd been breeding, and such. It was getting to be late and Mag was starting to worry about Linalee. Though he didn't mention it, his Grandparents sensed the tension in his voice. "What is bothering you kid?" Pete asked.

"Wha? Oh nothing really. Linalee was traveling with me but when we were exiting the boat she dissapeared quite quickly. She said that she'd show up eventually." Mag trailed off. "Probably no big deal." Alice glanced at her husband for a moment. "If you think so then it is probably--"

But her sentence was not to be finished for in a moment the wall had been blown in sending dirt, dust, and other debris flying into their serene dinner. "Whoa!" coughed Pete. "Everyone out of this room," he instructed as he helped Alice up off the floor. The dust began to clear and in the center of the hole in the wall stood four shapes, two human like and two that were about half their size.

"Prepare for trouble... ah nevermind stupid phrases!" a feminine voice exclaimed. "Who would waste time with those anyway?" a more gruff and raspy voice added. "Just hand over your most powerful pokemon and we'll be going!" The dust had finally settled and in the doorway were two very familiar figures. "Hey, you guys are those schmups I beat up on the way here... What was it, Carl and Bitney?" Mag insulted.

"I am certainly not that oaf! I'm Carley dangit! You better remember my name or I'll pound you!" The woman shouted. "And I'm Biff!" The gruff man shouted, apparently missing the insult of his partner. "Okay..." Mag said as he rolled his eyes. "Why don't you go back to the play place you came from before we call the cops on you."

"So are these friends of yours?" Pete asked his grandson. "Them? Heck no! They're just some miscreants that lost a battle to me on the ride over. I don't have a clue why they're here." Mag replied. "Is it just me or did he miss our entry demand?" Carley whispered to Biff. "Yeah I think he did... Let's try again." Biff replied. "HEY! We're making demands here! So just surrender your strongest monsters and we'll be on our way and nobodies gonna get hurt!" His Torkoal 'glared' and shot some smoke out of its nostrils.

"That's gonna be a big fat... NO." Mag replied. "If you guys want to bet beaten again though I'm all game. Of course you'd have to fix the wall first..." Carley gave an indignant stamp of her foot. "I can't believe you! Grimer, throw a Sludgebomb at him!"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 25, 2007 2:11 pm

The small conglomerate of muck at Carley's feet began to stand tall and reared back it's head. Making a hideous gargling noise it leaned forward and coughed out a small ball of goop that was sent flying to the Mag's left. It landed with a small explosion on the ground sending more grimy particles about the room.

"Take these jokers outside!" Alice commanded as a pokmeon appeared in white light. "Dew-gong-gong-gong!" The pokemon shouted as it slapped it's fins together. After it's normal happy clapping, the seal pokemon began to form a ball of water at it's horn. The water pulse was soon sent flying into the two criminals and their pokemon, forcing them outside. But their wet flight ended abruptly as they were bounced off a large white stomach into the ground. "Well if you guys wanted to battle them be my guest..." Mag said with a shrug as his grandparents began to move outside to join their pokemon. This wouldn't last very long.

Molasses braced himself for impact, but he found himself staggered by the powerful blow dealt by the Shelgon. The Dragon Dance it had performed earlier had definitely boosted its power, as had evolving so suddenly. It was obvious that Jaeshan had been working with his Pokemon for quite some time now, and Gwen realized right then that she needed to think of a way to slow the dragon down. "Molasses! Use Poison Gas again, quickly!" she hollered, waving her clenched fists around enthusiastically. Last time they'd managed to avoid the attack with relative ease, but Gwen wasn't one to give up so easily, and neither was her Pokemon.

The poisonous Pokemon reared back, taking in some of the clean, forest air around him. His entire form seemed to swell and change shape as the toxins native to his body converted the fresh air into a highly toxic gas, and the Pokemon curved his lips and exhaled deeply, forcing the foul fog to flow from his mouth like a fountain of fetid water.

"Hm, the Safari Zone eh?" Sasha remarked as the uncharacteristically plain building passed them by. She made a mental note to check the place out later, after she did some serious shopping at Lilycove. "No use catching Pokemon if you're all worked up." The pink haired girl let out a sharp exhale through her nose, pushing a smile after reminding herself of all the time she'd spent training and winning badges recently. Looking at her map once more, the maze section of the route was coming up soon, to her right a small cliff set the scene for a nice oceanic view. Well, if Mt. Pyre wasn't there with all its gloomy sadness. Prickles, either not noticing the sea or not caring, continued to waddle along side his trainer.

"Are you sure we even know where he is?" A voice spoke seemingly from a nearby bush.

Sasha jumped, letting out a barely audible squeak. "Is someone there?" Near instantaneous rustling followed and then silence. "Helloooo?" asked the girl again, her right leg shaking. Below her, Prickled leaned forward, gently pressing his spiky arms against Sasha's leg, making sure not to be too rough. Unfortunately for the girl's comfort, Cacnea had horrid balance due to their stubby legs and large bodies. Unwillingly, a spurt of uneasiness came over the little cactus, and he flailed around, hoping to regain balance. He successfully became stationary again, but only by planting his needly arm in his trainer's lower leg. Sasha bit her lip, containing a ear piercing shriek for only a few seconds before shouting at the top of her lungs. "Aiiiieeeeeek!" Ms. Jennings wailed, crumbling to the ground and rubbing her calf. She shot a demonic glare at her Pokemon, who recoiled in fear. "Of all the annoying, needy, stupid and useless Pokemon I've ever encountered, you Prickles are the worst!" Spit flew from the furious girl's mouth as she pounded the ground with her fists. "I've kept you around hoping you'd grow up, mature, and work as a functioning member of my team but you haven't! Roxxane laughed at you, Brawly's match was a joke, and you had the clear advantage over Wattson's Pokemon!" A visible vein protruded from Sasha's forehead as she screamed away at her Pokemon, who was cowering in utter terror. "I've been told all my life from books and other trainers that there is no such thing as a bad Pokemon, that it's never the fault of either individually, but the combination of their efforts that makes a trainer and Pokemon one, but you even seem to miserably fail in that regard also! If that's true, then how come all my other Pokemon are fine and dandy and you're struggling to hold on to your metaphoric last place ribbon!" Her heart pounded in her chest, and the girl's eyesight began to lose its usual luster. "Hey now..." she said weakly as she wobbled in place to regain her senses.

Shaking her head violently, she lifted up her hand and began to speak again. "And furthermore! I-" Her mouth dropped, and tears began to flood her eyes at the sight before her. Prickles had extended his spines like a sea urchin, his entire body quivering, shaking and whimpering. Sasha slowly reached out to him, but the Cacnea just yelped and hopped a few inches away. "Prickles..." Her throat began that wondrous lumpy feeling as she choked out a sob. "I-I'm sorry!" Sasha began to cry, covering her face with her dirt covered hands.

And then everything went dark.

((Holy alliteration, Batman! O.O))
"Shelgon! Look out!" Jaeshan cried, realizing only after he'd said it how futile it was. No defensive maneuver or tactic could get the sluggish dragon out of the way of the poisoned fumes. Shelgon staggered back and gasped as her lungs burned painfully, as though they were on fire. Her eyes also watered from the sting of the gases, and she could already feel the toxins starting to worm their way into her system. Huffing a little, the Shelgon refused to show any signs that the poison was working as she awaited Jaeshan's next command.

It was a bit nerve wracking, knowing that his Pokemon was poisoned and her time remaining on the field was somewhat limited. Jaeshan scratched his head thoughtfully, resting his eyes on the large, bulbous Pokemon named Molasses. "Use your Dragonbreath again, Shelgon!" he called out finally, now seeing a noticeable drop in the Shelgon's reaction time. The Poison Gas had dispersed somewhat, and Shelgon planted her feet firmly on the ground before opening her mouth and expelling a stronger burst of bluish flames than before - she definitely had a noticeable boost in her abilities compared to her previous, smaller form. The dragon was careful to direct the stream of flames right at her opponent, and she took a few steps forward, putting her all into the attack.

How could a trainer not be worried about his own Pokemon? Ulani certainly wouldn't believe it. No way. Mary-Anne, Ky, all the other trainers she'd seen thus far. . . They'd all been very caring. Angry sometimes, certainly, but humans and Pokemon alike were always prone to anger -- no one was perfect.

Little Guy's speech was nothing short of amusing. Come to think of it, she'd never actually heard him really talk before. . . Their encounters with one another had been pretty quiet. But wow, did he naturally rhyme like that? Like, without thinking and all? And sing-songy too? Amazing. Simply amazing. She was so caught up with all these thoughts that she hardly though about what Little Guy was trying to say, but it seemed that that was of no hindrance; it didn't seem that the Totodile was going to assault them anymore.

"I'll just tell you this. I don't want to go back, and you won't make me. If you really want to help me though, then you guys follow me until I find the old couple's house. That's where I'm heading," their little blue friend said (the one sans white puffy wings) before spinning on his heels and trotting away in a lovely little manner. Instinctively, Ulani began to follow - after all, he did sound kind of lonely in a way, and she didn't want to lose him after the trainers and M.A. had fussed so. Part of her wanted to wait for her brunette girl, but heck, if they waited the Totodile would be long gone to whateverplace. "Let's go, Sir Ryme-A-Lot," she called, stalling for a second in the air. Was it really a good idea to follow him? Well, if they didn't, he'd be gone since he had no intention of graciously coming back with them. She didn't see any danger in following for now.

Instant Krill

"Huh?" Sasha blinked at the shadow overcasting her. Before she could turn to identify the source, a large burlap sack was thrust over her body, and she was hoisted into the air. She screamed, flailing about in hopes to escape, but to no avail. Fine. The pink haired girl though to herself, her tears now subsiding to anger. If they want me, I'll make sure they never forget who they're messing with! No one kidnaps Sasha T. Jennings and gets away unscathed! Sasha let out a grunt, flinging her body around. She felt her foot connect with something: a leg. "Ha!" She cheered.

"Ah! Little brat kicked me!" One of them yelped. Then, she heard a soft slap, like someone hitting another upside the head. "Ow!" He whined.

"Shut UP! Now she knows what you sound like idiot!" A deeper, more menacing voice said.

"So says the hypocrite." The first one replied.

"Aw dammit." Mr. Deep shamefully said. Sasha giggled to herself, but her semi-giddy (well, given the circumstances) mood was interrupted by a sudden drop to the ground.

"Ah! What is that?" Number one shouted. Sasha heard multiple small objects being shot in her general direction, and the two men's footsteps were frantic. What was it, a rescue, a random good Samaritan who felt it was his duty to help out a poor, well not poor, distressed girl? Oh happy day!

"It's a Cacnea!" Mr. Deep shouted.

Or it could be Prickles.
Sasha let out a very unenthusiastic 'whoo'.

Gwen watched the Shelgon carefully, amazed by the Pokemon's resolve. She couldn't tell if the dragon had been poisoned or not, and her immediate guess would have been 'not' once she saw the powerful Dragonbreath attack being expelled from its mouth.

"Molasses, try and..." she trailed off rather quickly, and shook her head. There was no way her blubbering companion could move out of the way in time, and she laughed inwardly at herself for thinking otherwise. Molasses took the attack head on, although the damage was reduced somewhat thanks to him having used Amnesia in a previous round. However, no amount of raised Special Defenses could have helped the Swalot stave off the attack's annoying secondary effect - paralysis. Even though it seemed impossible, the Swalot found its speed and mobility restricted even further as it could barely stumble forward enough to retake the position it had held before being struck by the breath attack.

"Give it a taste of your Sludge Bomb," Gwen called out a bit feebly, feeling as though she'd inhaled some of the Poison Gas from before as well. Seeing her Pokemon's staggered movements was enough to know that it had become paralyzed, and the girl crossed her fingers behind her back as her Pokemon attempted to obey his trainer's command. Somehow, he managed to inch forward a bit, building up a large ball of black sludge at the back of his throat. With decent force, the Sludge Bomb was lobbed forward, but the Pokemon knew he'd be a sitting duck for the following round as he found himself unable to move.

Awe man... another type advantage? Well at least I get to be creative about my fights. Dylan thought to himself as he noticed a rather large blast of energy flying towards Anthony's Farfetch'd. Well if that was a hyper beam (which it appears to be) then Crobat is going to be open for attacks. "Dodge the lighting by going after Crobat with a Slash!"

Kabutops noted the command with a small nod as it barely avoided the electricity that was smashing into its previous location. "That was way closer than I thought it was going to be..." Dlyan muttered to himself seeing the smoking mud on the ground. Still moving rather quickly Kabutops leapt high into the air as it prepared to slice the helpless bat.

((Mag, you're being awfully liberal with your dodging/attacking in the same round... remember that it's one or the other per turn.))
Even Jaeshan grimaced at the sight of the inky blob hurtling towards Shelgon, and all the dragon could do was close her eyes and lower the 'head' portion of her body to the ground. The Sludge Bomb exploded on impact with the bony ridges of her hard shell, sending bits of black gunk flying in all directions.

At least she can't be poisoned again... Jaeshan thought a bit sadly, knowing full-well that Shelgon's wincing wasn't only from the attack she'd just suffered, but the straining effects of being poisoned as well. "Hang in there, girl! You're amazing!" he called out encouragingly. "Fight back with your Rock Tomb!"

Shelgon nodded slowly, realizing she hadn't used this attack in a long time if not ever. She reared back on her hind legs, then pushed herself forward, slamming her front legs as well as a lot of her weight onto the ground, and causing a small shock wave to travel towards the Swalot. If successful, four stone spikes would shoot out of the ground on various angles and hopefully into their target; although that was only if Shelgon had managed to time her attack properly.

The wind began to blow slightly towards the direction of the woods as Myuko and Grimm entered the path darkened by the treetops blocing out the sun's rays.

Myuko didnt think about buying Andtidotes before he ventured into the woods before because he didnt think that Grimm would get poisoned, at least, not that easily.

Myuko's green eyes looked to his front lower right as he caught his pokemon. If only there was a way that I could read your thoughts.

The two ventured more into the woods, taking a slightly alternate path to try and cut time so that hopefully they would be able to finish watching the battle between Gwen and Jaeshan, although that would highly be unlikely.

As the duo turned a sharp corner, there was a rustling in the leaves and bushes. Myuko stopped and Grimm disappeared and reappeared closer in front of Myuko, as if expcting someone or something to come out and attack.
