Tinker was startled enough to take a step back before a stern look crossed her face and she said, "I thought we were making some progress, but if you don't calm down I will have to close the blast door on you; or do you like being put in time out?" The last few words were rather comical coming from Tinker, who was not only still quite young, maybe 16, no more than 18 to most people, and built with a fairly slender frame. He playing the parent now was only slightly less ridiculous that it might have seemed when she was first made part of the Hunters while still a young child. Stifle huddled close to the glass and whimpered. "Not the dark! Not the dark! Stifle nice! No dark!" She stared through the glass seeming to notice Tinker for the first time. "You smell like Tinman. He hurt Stifle. You like father?!" "Tinman?...You mean Ratchet?" Tinker said and then in a softer tone. "Ratchet only hurt you to stop you from hurting others. You have to understand that you were trying to kill two boys at the time Octavia. He would never be ok with standing by and letting that happen." She thought of the best way to answer Stifle's last question and then responded. "No, I am not like your father. I am a scientist, I won't experiment on you and I won't hurt you if can be brought to reason. Whatever he did to you was wrong, very wrong. We want to help you, and, if there is a way to bring you back to the girl you were, I will find it, you have my word." "Danny boy lie! He say he never leave!" Stifle screeched. She suddenly dropped to a whisper again. "Stifle all alone. Stifle not girl, not Octavia, is creature. Is evil. Father say so." She began to pace animal like. "No Octavia, your Father was a bad man, and he was wrong. You are still a person and you're not evil, at least not underneath all that hurt you're are carrying. I've met a lot of people doing what we do and a lot of them haven't come out of the fire of life unscathed. Some of them didn't have it as bad, some, a very few, maybe even worse. What has always mattered the most for those people is understanding that what was done to them was not their fault, and doesn't make them bad people just for living through it." Stifle's scarves seemed to relax a bit as she pressed her face against the glass. "Who is girl? Is girl angel like Mother?" She glanced at the doll as if comparing the two. "P-pretty..."

I said I was fast," Rei said with a bit of an edge to her tone. "Do I need to give you a number?" She had stopped swearing after only a few moments, minutes before the others would have gotten there, but it was clear she was still agitated. "Why would Zack take her through a mountain? Where are they going that he would want to speed up the trip?" Ricky shook his head. "Not you, the guy! He can walk through mountains? Don't you think that's important information to relay to the rescue effort?" "Sure," Liz said as she and Victor arrived, "It's just rock, he can move as he wants pretty easily. Honestly, it would be and ordeal on its own to explain all the things we know he can do with earth and plants, and I've really stopped trying to guess all the things he might be capable of that I don't know about. The question is, why would he use his powers to help cut their travel time? There is no way she would know he could do this if he didn't mention it..." Liz paced for a few moments before she pulled out a ear piece and put it on. She began talking, "Tinker, are you there?" There was nothing for a moment, then, brodcasted out of the piece, loud enough for the others to hear, "Yes? What is it, I am busy at the moment." "We need to know something," Liz replied. "Really? Like I said, busy." "It will be quick, I need some satellite imagery." A sigh, and then, "Where?" "Directly on the opposite side of the mountain we are currently located at." "Moment." There was a pause of about 10 minutes before Tinker spoke again, obviously in a rush. "There is mostly woods, but I think what you are looking for is a small town. It looks pretty abandoned, from the images that came back most of the buildings are pretty decrepit and a few seem to be rotting at this point. Some small farmland and a grove of...oh boy." "Oh boy what?" both Liz and Rei responded in unison. "This town, I am 100% sure now, was Zack's home before incident that led to Eden abducting him. The coincidence of you being here is...rather astronomical, but here you are." "Thanks Tinker, that's all we need." The connection was cut and Liz looked at the others. "Well, I guess that answers the question. He must have convinced her to go to that town some how." She rubbed her chin and said, "Though I am not entirely sure why right now, what does he want there?" Rei said somewhat weakly, "To say goodbye?" "But why would SHE go there? Seem kinda nice for a bounty hunter?" Ricky looked around. "How long is it gonna take to get around this thing? It's gigantic." He folded his arms. "Maybe if we all took off our clothes and we stitched them together we could make a hot air balloon..." "Perhaps she was looking for a place to rest that we wouldn't see coming," Liz said. "Unfortunately for her we have Tinker. Our problem with using the satellites before was we really had no idea where to look with them, that kept her safe from that form of tracking. Now that we know where they are going we can watch for them." "Until then, we get a move on," Liz finished. "We are lucky that we are near the edge of this mountain. It will still take us a few more hours to make it to the the other side than they will, but if we book it we can make it to the town before they leave." Reaper raised his hand "I've got a real quick question... well two," He shook three fingers in the air then looked at them and shook his hand wildly. " Gotta stop doing that. Anyway, Does your friend's ability leave room for others to tag along? And secondly Ricky was that seriously your plan? Because bravo good sir I say bravo, the balls on that plan absolutely makes you team tactician from this point forward."

Dragon Sneeze The Kohr Dragon Sneeze The Kohr Dragon Sneeze The Kohr Soul walked through the main lobby of city hall with Daisy who was partially leading him because of his odd tendency to stop and observe people. "So Daisy....why are you here? I didn't know that you had secretary skills.. or political aspirations. You didn't give that vibe last we met." Daisy smiled embarrassed. "Yeah, but I needed a job to help pay for college. Mr. Snyder offered me this job and I really couldn't turn it down. He said I had natural skills to take care of someone." "Oh like a nurturing....soul then?" Soul finished his thought then something hit him. He wasn't sure what it was but it was a tickle in the very pit of his being he wasn't sure what it was but deep down something was different. Daisy laughed. "Yeah, something like that." She flipped through a planner. "Can you come in tomorrow at 3:15?" "Morning or night? And why not a flat three? What's he doing up until 3:15?" Soul fired out his questions as they arose in his mind. Daisy looked confused. "Well meetings and stuff. And in the afternoon. That's just the earliest we can do it, do you want a different time?" "I tend to ask a lot of questions Ms Daisy. Simple as that, by the way am I to be expected to uhhh." He motioned to his clothing," dress for the job?"

High above the mean streets o High in the clouds
"No sky's clear" Izzy muttered as he typed and deleted upon his computer. He hunted and pecked each letter with great vigor because his present work was of grave importance.
High HI up in the s**t
A voice came from another room, echoing through the hollowed steel walls. "try another phrase, or different way of wording it."
Held aloft in the heavens the city's one true hope for survival, her savior, her lover,.....her GOD! Was hard at work trying to yet again foil the evil plots of the wicked whose hands dug deep into he very womb infecting future generations with their sins.
"Its fantastic! I'm fantastic, my narrative is fantastic Rachel!" Izzy had mere moments before a buzzer went off and a slew of monitors arose from the a metal grate in the floor to his right. Each one came on in order from left to right clockwise until the final center monitor flickered. It was the news every channel of it for the city, one for the world...not important smallest tv in the bottom right corner, has chewing gum holding it together.
"Ahhh behold how the lord of the skies is granted his wisdom...." Izzy nodded and pulled a notepad from his pocket and a small hello kitty pen and wrote his words. To his horror the news was all the same. " The MANAGER!!!! How in the hell did this happen?! Oooh Deathly Hollows part deuce! Terrific news I can't wait." He squealed with glee as he rushed over to the tiny world news television.
A second voice yelled at him, "Focus!"
"Right, right... Got to find Victor... I mean The Reaper and Heatstroke and move my pawns into play weeeellll knights. They get to be knights they've come a long way the undying boy he get's to be a pawn." Izzy fell back into his chair and wheeled himself in front of his array of computers and began scanning faces on the city streets bellow.

(in Capital City anyway, since when has time made any sense here)
Mayor J.J. Brian Snyder strode toward the edge of the stage and looked out to the hundreds of Capital City's citizens and news people. He flashed a wink to Soul, his new body guard. "Make sure you listen well in a couple minutes my boy. This will be history."

J.J. strode boldly up to the podium and smiled broadly. The crowd was deathly silent, and he waited a few tantalizing seconds before beginning.
"Good morning Capital City. I am J.J. Brian Snyder, but you know that. So let's not waste time on silly introductions. I have asked you all here to announce my current plan for the city. But first let me ask you a question. Are you safe? Can you attend to your children, your jobs or even your basic needs in your life without fear? Our wonderful police force does its best to make sure you can. But they can't do it alone. Not with the new breed of criminals and so call meta humans causing strife and misery in our fair city. Now "Wait!" you may say, "We have heroes to protect us!" But I ask you. Who will protect us when the very people cause destruction to the city?"
J.J. paused and the crowd could be heard talking to each other about his question. He continued.
"I'm sure you all remember Al-De-Bert Hall, the once shining jewel of our city. It was not a villain who knocked the proud giant from the skyline, no! It was the irresponsible and unchecked actions of the so called heroes who came to thwart a simple jewel heist. And I'm sure you all remember the floating mountain soon after that threatened everyone within one hundred miles of the city. That was also the result of the meta humans and their selfish desires. Now, I do not come before you to spout nonsense that all metas are corrupt or evil, no no. But I have in fact come to a conclusion. With proper training and supervision, these people could become the greatest asset the city has ever known! And so I am brought to my point, after many hours, nay days of quiet contemplation and advice from my staff I have decided to launch an new program."
He motion to a man on the side of the stage and the curtain behind him fell to reveal a giant sign reading "CCDMP". Below in smaller letter it spelled out the acronym, "Capital City Department of Meta Protection"
The stunned crowd began to applaud, and after a few moments J.J. wrapped up his speech.
"With this new initiative, all active metas will be registered, trained and approved by the city and given the tools they need to ensure peace and prosperity to everyone living here in Capital City. More information will be dispersed very soon. Thank you all for your time and wonderful welcoming for me and my staff."
The crowd continued to applaud even after J.J. stepped down.
Reporters swarmed forward asking questions but no answers were forthwith. J.J. smiled broadly as he stepped back into City Hall.
