Inaluke the ^ is "to the power of" right? cuz if it is then the equasion is 5+13- ^2=20 3.1622776601683793319988935444327^2=20... so whats the diffrence between 18 and that number actually the only viable equation you could denote is 5+13-x^2 = -20, because the squared variable will always be positive, and subtracting any positive number from 18 will take it further from twenty. Meaning, in the original graph (before the absolute value was applied, there was no value of x such that the value of y equaled 20. You quickly find that you must subtract 38 from 18 to get -20. Therefore, the value of x must be the square root of 38 for x^2 to equal 38. Also, the negative square root of 38 can also be squared to equal 38. Thusly, there are two solutions in which the value of x will make the value of y equal to twenty. In other words.... the answer is plus or minus the square root of 38 sweatdrop

God damn you over-analysts with your mathematical equations. Seriously, I did not understand even a fraction of those last few posts. Mind you, I only did the lowest form of math possible. Never liked math..was always good at it, but my absentmindedness means I lost key parts of things, and I NEVER showed ANY of my work,so my teachers failed me...I hate math, it's retarded. It's only use is in machines, people shouldn't waste their precious life crunching numbers..stupid math...stupid...uhh...PENCILS! I friggen HATE pencils..they're all gross and woody..unless they're clicky pencils..those are alright....but eraser shavings?Feck...I like pens..pens and computers..they're so neat and clean and easy to edit.

It's things like math that limit creativity by reinforcing concrete thinking...Just makes things a lot more bland. The only creative mix that's well represented with Math is things like construction and building design, where the engineers come up with crazy looking buildings that actually support themselves.

I don't think it's the fact he has too much time, I just think he wants it all to pay off in the end. ^^

Lol. I've been doing that kind of math for a long time now. It's really nothing over baring anymore when it gets drilled in year after year. sweatdrop Differential Calculus is a little more challenging.... but damn it's fun to read. Calculus is inclusive of all Algebra and geometry with limit functions thrown in... it's all quite fun..... derivatives are all about the instantaneous rate of change of the slope of a line tangent to any curved graph. It's interesting to see some of the things you can do with all this sweatdrop
Oh and I hope you get an A on that particular equation problem Teg xd

*Sighs and looks around* Nothing interesting to do....OO! What's this? *Reaches into pocket and pulls out a dirt bag, smiles really big and drops the little ball of sand onto his shoe* YAY!!! HACKY-SACK!!! *Begins to knock the little ball around expertly with his feet and uses some non-conditional tactics of keeping it up* WHEE!!! xd whee
