Bagon took a step forward, baring her teeth at her opponent as it began to charge at her. "Hold your ground," Jaeshan told her somewhat firmly, and she nodded, digging her feet in and bracing herself for the oncoming attack. Cinnamon's Headbutt hit her right on, and the dragon's feet slid back an inch or two as she resisted being knocked over by the Zigzagoon's hit. The small dragon had grown considerably since her birth at the festival, and she had the weight to prove it, too. Jaeshan was right in his assumption that Bagon was several levels higher than Cinnamon was, but he really didn't want to hurt the little raccoon, even in a battle situation.
"Use your Headbutt," Jaeshan said, his tone a little gentler than what Bagon was used to for battle orders. Nodding, the smallish dragon jumped up, using the weight behind the tempered-steel plate on her head to carry her momentum downward and onto the Zigzagoon.

Gwen didn't like the look of things as Cinnamon's attack seemed to do practically nothing. Jaeshan's Pokemon had the look of one who'd experienced more than a few battles, and as the bluish creature launched itself at her Zigzagoon, doubt began to flood in her mind. I should have withdrawn her after she defeated Torchic, the girl thought shakily, already reaching towards Cinnamon's Pokeball. The Headbutt attack connected, and Cinnamon cried out, having been unable to dodge. Gwen bit her lower lip and sighed, holding up the capsule to recall the Tinyraccoon, who disappeared in the telltale flash of red light.
"I guess the real battle has started, hasn't it?" she asked, deftly swapping Cinnamon's Pokeball with a different one. "Now it's really time to play! I choose you, Molasses!" With a quick throw, the second Pokeball bounced onto the battlefield, revealing a large, purple Pokemon. Its body was rounded and very heavy-looking, with black diamond patches surrounding its lower half. Two beady, red little eyes looked somewhat vapidly around the battlefield, while two long, yellow whiskers twitched intently as the Pokemon took in the sights. Its arms were nubs, at best, and with each movement, its body seemed to flow within itself like a thick, viscous jelly. "Say hello to my Swalot," Gwen giggled, gesturing to the poisonous purple blob with her free hand. "He hasn't had a good battle in a long time, so make it a good one! Molasses, you know what to do!"
The Swalot lumbered forward a bit, looking down at the smaller Pokemon curiously. Its two bulbous lips parted, and its mouth opened wide as a heavy, greenish-haze seemed to pour out as if it were a liquid - Poison Gas.

Jaeshan's eyes opened wide at the sight of the Swalot, and he subconsciously took a step backwards. "Uh, hello," he said, in response to Gwen's comment. He'd seen this Pokemon in a book before, but it had been in a comparison of different body types in certain species of Pokemon.
Bagon didn't seem at all phased by the much larger opponent that now stood before her; she simply puffed out her chest and pushed herself to her full just-over-two-feet height, snapping her jaws at the purple Pokemon menacingly.
"Watch out for that gas!" Jaeshan called as the large Pokemon expelled a dangerous amount of poisoned fumes, which spilled onto the ground much like water. Bagon eyed the gas warily, taking a few steps backward. She inhaled deeply, pulling in a good amount of fresh air before she exhaled sharply, breathing out deep bluish flames instead of the clean air she'd pulled in before. Taking careful aim, the blue flames shot out in front of the small dragon like a blue Flamethrower, pushing against the Poison Gas in an attempt to keep it at bay. Bagon completed the Dragonbreath attack by trying to force the last of it towards the Swalot, lest it try something like that again.

Train looked around. A pokemon should becoming soon...
And there it was! A lone Ratata emerged from the grass, sniffing the air expectantly. The pokemon walked up, trying to locate the source of the smell. It stopped a few feet away from Train and her little Oddish, confused. Train didn't waste any time-she immediatly said, "Oddish, Acid!" The attack hit nicely, and the Ratata stumbled backwards, suprised at the sudden attack.
It retaliated by dashing forward, and tackling Oddish. The Ratata jumped back, hissing "Tata!" as it did so."
"Alright, Oddish, Absorb!" Train said to her little pokemon, and a greenish glow was just barely visible as Ratata's energy was sapped into Oddish. The pokemon staggered, already becoming weakened.
The wild pokemon jumped forward, smacking Oddish with it's curled-at-the-end tail, lowering the grass-type's defense. Train commanded her pokemon to do another Absorb attack, and the wild Ratata fell over, to exhausted to figth anymore.
"Alright! That was good, Oddish! No-that was great!" Train praised her Pokemon happily.

Though the incoming attack didn't have a same type attack bonus it was going to hurt. The small Cubone was recovering from his sliding attack to block the incoming Ice Beam. This many super effective attacks was taking it's toll on him. The frosty mass frosted him in a terribly cold chill. His upper body was covered in a thin layer of ice from his waist to his neck. The poor Cubone dropped to his knee.
"Nice job Skellington but I'm calling in the towel for you." Dylan told his pokemon as he picked it up. "Rest over her on the sidelines," he tossed a berry to the pokemon which it gladly ate though it seemed dissapointed to be the first one out. "Now I'm done playing easy on you." Dylan warned as he enlarged his next pokeball and let it fly into the air.
In a burst of light and metalic screeches a fully evovled Kabutops stood on the ground slicing it's scythes menacingly. "Use Slash!" The speedy monster dashed skillfully across the muck to the weakened kappa pokemon before it.

Myuko placed his arm over his mouth as some of the gas floated his way. "Grimm, levitate higher!" he told his ghost pokemon as it did what it was told, floating a little bit higher as they saw the blue flames dispell the gasses. Myuko sighed with relief, lowering his arm a bit. He turned, however, to see that his pokemon was floating down to the ground, as if silently struggling for energy. Oh no, he's been poisoned! Myuko thought. He knew he did not have any antidote inside his coat, however, he did hold Grimm's pokeball. As he pulled out the dark violet custom ball, Grimm became a glowing red silhouette as it withdrew into the pokeball.
Before the other two noticed, Myuko raised his hand and said, "I am sorry I cannot stay. I hope to see you two another time," as he began to run back towards Petalburg.

Though Alpha knew what attack was coming, he was not in the position to resist it. As he hovered in the air, his flapping faltered over and over as he stared, stuck in a daze as he let the Crobat's Confuse Ray scramble his mind.
Meanwhile, Anthony stood frustrated as he gathered in the situation. He hadn't expected Dylan to bring out his Kabutops so early, but it was reasonable to assume that Keegan's Golduck was close to being switched out as well. What mainly frustrated him so much though was how little damage he had done to Kasiya's Crobat, while Alpha was in a less-than-ideal status, with much of his stamina gone, not to mention his senses at the moment.
"Alpha, take it easy and use Slash again!" Anthony called. At this time, he'd have liked to use more variety with Alpha's attacks, but in his state, it was crucial to keep it simple, even with the girl's bat soaked in mud.
It was hard for Alpha to make out his trainer's command through the splitting migraine he was now experiencing, and though he understood it, his numbed senses made it difficult for him to wield his 'sword' properly. Nevertheless, he dove awkwardly at his opponent, swinging wildly mid-air as he fought to keep the bat in focus.
Unfortunately, what Alpha took for a Crobat was simply an illusion formed by his panic and confusion. His leek sword cut nothing but air, and left Alpha in a state of vertigo, where both his sense of direction and gravity were lost.

After going through the musty, grassy terrain that was the same path that led him to the two fine trainers, Myuko entered Petalburg city. He passed some nearby houses and the pokemon gym, housing the famous leader, Norman. He finally came into the pokemon center.
"Oh! Myuko, how nice to see--" Nurse Joy started as she saw the urgent look on his face.
"My Duskull was poisoned, and I dont have any antidote!" he said as he realized he looked and sounded like a rookie trainer. Although he knew what to do in these situations, the knowlege seemed to slip from his head as he handed the ball to the nurse.
-- -- -- -- --
After waiting a few minutes, Nurse Joy came back with the unique purple pokeball in hand.
"Your Duskull will be just fine. Its a good thing you brought it in before it fainted. Might I recomend a trip to the PokeMart? They have a lot of useful items." she said as he handed the ball back to the trainer.
Myuko simply nodded as he headed out of the automatic doors.
As a soft breeze blew, Myuko ran a hand through his hair, replacing the hat that he had taken off inside. Removing his hand from his pocket, he threw the pokeball into the air as a Duskull appeared in a flash of red light.
"How you feeling bud?" Myuko asked as he gazed into the crimson eye. Although almost nobody could look a Duskull in it's eye without feeling fear, Grimm's crimson eye was ineffective to Myuko as the bond they shared was strong.
The Duskull happily bobbed up and down, a soft but delighted moaning was heard. As Myuko nodded to his companion, the duo started forward towards the pokemart.

((It's kinda nice when that happens, isn't it? All kinds of interesting things to follow ^^)) As Alpha struggled with the initial effects of confusion, Fang took the split second to shake a bit more of the mud from his wings - he quite admired the duck Pokemon's ability to adapt to whatever situation was at hand. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the other trainer call back his Cubone and send out something else - something fairly large, and a bit scary looking, although the large bat Pokemon didn't know what it was.
Kasiya, on the other hand, immediately recognized the scythe-swinging monster as a Kabutops. The time spent studying fossil Pokemon with Mike the other day had paid off, and even though she'd not joined her friend on his expedition to retrieve a fossil, she was grateful for the knowledge she'd picked up in the process. "Watch it, Keegan!" she called out quickly. "That's a Kabutops!" She cast a glance towards Dylan, wondering what other surprises he may have had up his sleeve.
Meanwhile, Fang watched the confused Farfetch'd attack nothing at all, his mucky wings still keeping him high above the ground. Now would be the time to strike, while the opponent was vulnerable. Kasiya saw this too, and even though she'd been a bit surprised that the confusion was actually working, she knew as well that Keegan would possibly need a bit of help dealing with the Kabutops. "Go for it, Fang! Use your Hyper Beam!" she called. Fang screeched in reply, positioning himself so that his larger forewings formed an x-pattern in front of him. The golden energy gathered quickly, starting as a pinpoint ball of light before it's size increased rapidly, and the Crobat extended his wings, his ear-splitting screech drowned out by the devastating beam of energy that was aimed for the helpless Farfetch'd below.

Swalot were definitely not known for their speed, and the purple lummox couldn't back up far enough to avoid being struck lightly by the bluish flames. "Ahh, Dragonbreath," Gwen commented, nodding after the sight of it. Molasses didn't seem to be too bothered by the attack, if anything just a little uncomfortable from the strange fire that had brushed up against his body. His two long whiskers twitched a bit, and he blinked, looking down towards the Bagon with interest, his gaze only averting as Myuko pardoned himself and ran off, having withdrawn his Duskull into an obviously customized violet Pokeball.
"Where's he going in such a hurry?" Gwen asked, watching him disappear down the trail and out of sight. "Oh well, to each their own," she shrugged, turning back to Jaeshan and Bagon. "Let's continue then. Molasses, use your Amnesia!" Her orders were calm and crystal clear, and she smiled as the Poison Bag Pokemon stared off into space, seemingly as though he'd forgotten something very important. As a result, his squishy body started to glow with a greenish hue, showing that his defense against special attacks was now significantly higher than before, and would thus protect him from further breath attacks brought on by the Bagon.

Keegan's expression didn't change as Dylan withdrew his Cubone from battle, and Althena retreated to her starting position as their opponent readied his next Pokemon. Dylan's taunts were lost on him though as the next Pokeball sped through the air, and an armor-clad Pokemon stood before them, two razor-sharp scythes in the places its hands would normally occupy. Even though he was grateful to Kasiya for the warning, he already knew what this Pokemon was, and what it entailed. Several months before he'd left home to start his gym badge quest, a rather rude and somewhat daft trainer had approached his parents and demanded that they breed for him a Kabutops. Despite hours of argument, and strong protests from Keegan's parents that in order to produce a Kabutops, first they'd need to find one then hope that it was willing to breed. Secondly, the trainer didn't seem to understand that if they could breed the parent, the baby would be a Kabuto, the unevolved form of Kabutops. The memory played in Keegan's mind like a bad movie, and he couldn't help but laugh silently at the stupidity of it all.
The Kabutops leapt forward, its scythes drawn back as it prepared to execute its assault on the Golduck. Althena doesn't have much left, Keegan thought, wincing at the oncoming attack. To his surprise, however, the Golduck found no difficulty in matching the speed and agility of the Kabutops, and the very agile water type ducked and weaved to avoid having her body torn asunder by the dangerous appendages wielded by her opponent. The effort of the elaborate dodge, however, definitely took its toll, and the Golduck's chest heaved afterward, and she dropped to a knee, not having much stamina left.
Keegan could see that the Kabutops was ready to strike once again, and he quickly held up his hand. "Stop," was all he said before turning to his Pokemon. "All right, girl, you've been amazing, but you're done. I'm not going to let you continue when you obviously can't." Althena raised her head and glared at her trainer, who only folded his arms and stared down at his Pokemon in reply. It pained him to see her so utterly furious with him, but he didn't give an inch on his decision. Althena's newly formed willpower was finally bent under the steely gaze of her trainer, and she pulled herself to her feet and plodded over towards the Cubone. She sat down nearby, giving the little Pokemon a respectful nod before folding her arms and continuing to glare at her trainer.
Keegan sighed, unhooking a second Pokeball from his belt and enlarging it with the click of a button. "Don't underestimate me either, kid," he called over to Dylan as the red and white sphere sped through the air. "Themis! Thunderbolt attack, now!" he bellowed as the four-legged speedster appeared before them. The Manectric's paws had barely touched down on the softened ground as he had already started to build up a powerful charge of electricity, which was then sent spiraling towards the Kabutops.

Jaeshan couldn't even call out to Myuko to see what was wrong as the trainer had already vanished by the time Jaeshan found his words again. "It must be something important," he mused, but was somehow sure he'd see Myuko and his Duskull again someday. It was inevitable in the Pokemon world for trainers to meet up more than once, even if it took a day or ten years.
The Swalot looked a bit silly looking skyward like that, and Jaeshan decided to take this opportunity to have Bagon raise her stats as well. "It's a good time to use your Dragon Dance," he told the small Pokemon, who nodded and did just that, sidestepping and moving to a strange, mythical beat that only she could hear in her head. The little dragon stopped after a moment or two, her body already showing the signs that both her attack power and speed had increased by a stage. However, there was something different about Bagon as she stopped dancing, and stood looking up at the sky much like Molasses was doing.
Jaeshan couldn't get the words out in time for a second time in two minutes as the tiny dragon's body started to shine with a brilliant white light. It almost seemed as though the thick plate on her head were expanding and growing at a rapid rate, like it were starting to cover her entire body. When it was over, a somewhat larger, round Pokemon stood where Bagon once had, four legs protruding from under the thick shell that now encased her body. Two glowing eyes were visible from the front, but nothing more. The evolved Pokemon let out a bit of a roar, though it was mildly muffled from within the shell. Still trying to find words, Jaeshan fumbled for his PokeDex, and upon finding it he held it forward, waiting to hear what it had to say about his newly evolved Pokemon.
"Shelgon, the Endurance Pokemon. Its cells have already begun to transform within Shelgon's thick shell, which is made of a substance similar to bone. Most enemy attacks bounce harmlessly off of these rugged outgrowths, protecting Shelgon as it awaits evolution. It is said that wild Shelgon strengthen themselves by hiding away in a cave, enduring hunger."
As the PokeDex finished giving out its information, Jaeshan closed the device and put it into his pocket. "Shelgon..." he said, grinning. He knew that this was something that Bagon had been waiting for, and it was exciting to see her hard work finally starting to pay off.
((For some reason I thought Bagon evolved at 35, not 30, and I wanted her to have Protect... hope nobody minds....>.<;;;; ))

(('Course not... it's not like you don't make exceptions for everyone else now and then.)) "Ooh, wow!" Gwen exclaimed, clapping her hands together in excitement. It was always exciting to see a Pokemon evolve, even if it wasn't one of her own. "Congratulations, you two!" she called out excitedly. She still had no real idea what the Pokemon was in front of her, other than what info Jaeshan's Pokedex had just spewed out at them. The Shelgon's body looked heavy, and Gwen silently wondered if that would cause the Pokemon to be a bit slower than before. It really didn't matter all that much though, but Gwen was quite certain that they wouldn't be witnessing any miraculous feats of speed during this part of their battle.
"Okay Molasses, you're still with me, right?" The Swalot made some sort of gurgling noise in reply, and the trainer nodded. "Good! Show them your Sludge attack!"
The large, purple blob of a Pokemon blundered forward, opening its mouth to quite an impressive size. A thick, blackish/purple goo bubbled up from within it (a rather gross sight, actually), churning and turning before the Swalot gathered up the force to hurl the thick substance forward, almost as if it were being vomited.
"Eww..." Gwen muttered, despite the fact that it had been her Pokemon barfing toxic sludge all over the place. It appeared to be something she still wasn't exactly fond of seeing.

As Myuko and Grimm entered the cool Pokemart, the trainer removedhis hat, wiping the few beads of sweat that had formed from the heat outside.
As they browsed the shelves passing many items such as Awakening and Prlyz Heal, Myuko came across Pokeballs and Potions as well as Antidotes.
Myuko checked his pockets as he tallied what he already had: 5 Pokeballs, a train ticket that Prof. Birch gave him, 3 Potions, and $700.
Myuko grabbed a few items before heading to the counter. As he placed his items on the counter the cashier smiled as he totalled the items.
"Ok, so that is Two Potions and Two Antidotes? Your total is $600."
Myuko chuckled as he placed the money into the cashier's hand. "Thank you, sir. Please come again!"
After placing the items in the exageratingly big pockets of his coat, Myuko placed his hat on as he and his pokemon escaped outside. After looking around, it seemed that more and more trainers were passing by, heading for the Gym to challenge Norman. As he looked in the sky, he noticed a trainer sitting on an Altaria as it flew past the small town.
The chatter was even more fervent as Myuko walked towards the woods again, hoping to see his newly made comrades.

"Heh, thanks," Jaeshan chuckled, scratching the back of his head. He hadn't expected Gwen to react so happily to Shelgon's sudden change; in a lot of cases, opponents were more upset to see that their foes suddenly got stronger in such an occasion. He did mirror the girl's thoughts, however, about Shelgon now being a bit slower. The thick, bony shell covering her body looked like it wasn't the lightest of loads to bear, but he could see the determined glint in the Dragon-types eyes.
"Go get 'em, girl," he whispered to himself, a large smile spreading across his face as the Shelgon readied herself to continue fighting. The dragon stomped her front feet, ready to show them all just what being the Endurance Pokemon was all about.
The Swalot's movements were sluggish, and easy to predict (and Jaeshan was certain that he'd be seeing the same when it came to be Shelgon's time to move) but he was unprepared for the sheer amount of dark purple sludge that came flying from the Poison-type's mouth. The pattern of the spray reminded him of water shooting out of the end of a fire hydrant. But before he could call out for Shelgon to try and avoid it, or even respond, the dragon had already initiated her defenses.
A faint glow of green surrounded the Pokemon's body as the filth came showering down upon her, and it was a rather nasty sight to behold. When the attack was over, the offending sludge had splattered on the ground all around her, but Shelgon didn't have a single speck of the toxic goo on her body at all.
That was Protect, Jaeshan thought, scratching his chin thoughtfully. Shelgon must have learned it when she evolved! Feeling a little more confident with each passing turn, Jaeshan looked to Gwen to see what she'd do next.
