Unlike River, Miyuki wasn't at all bothered that what people saw if they had that gift was a fox, since really she liked foxes. That was, just her though, and she sort of understood what the two meant.
Tilting her head she shifted Senka in her arms to listen to what Amalirahc had to say, she wished though she had known of his gift sooner. If she had, then she would have certainly believed him more!

The king and queen looked at Amalirahc expectantly. "Well, since Lady Kirahn can't see yet, perhaps you could tell us what you see when you look at Iorlas and Ioreth," Amalthea suggested.
Amalirahc shifted closer to River, pulling his feet up onto the chair with him. "I see dragons," he whispered. "They're ... different from Mama and Papa. They look like they're the same except for what their dragons are doing ... Iorlas's dragon is a nice one, just like Iorlas is! But Ioreth ..."
He was getting scared again just thinking about it, but he forced himself to go on.
"Her dragon is always snarling and ... snapping ... and it looks like it's trying to break out of her so that it can kill people." He swallowed hard. "It's the only dragon I've ever seen that scares me."

It was no wonder why Amalirahc was scared of Ioreth Miyuki thought.
"So that's how she scared you? The thing when you first saw her and you wouldn't tell anyone why or how she scared you so?" Miyuki asked.
Everyone had assumed Ioreth probably did something bad to Amalirahc but it could have been Amalirahc seeing Ioreth for who she really was, was just as scary.

"Well what was I supposed to say?" Amalirahc retorted. "She's a dragon, run away? Who would have believed me?"
River patted him on the head. "Well, since you didn't say anything, we won't know," she told him, trying to calm him down.
"That fits with what I saw before we were blinded," Lady Kirahn agreed.
"But that doesn't explain very much at all," Amalthea frowned. "How did she do what she did? How did she vanish? Where did she go? How did she get in here in the first place?"

"We would have," Miyuki replied, "There are a lot of Sight gifts Mommy said, grandfather Daemon sees colours around people, which is kind of the same like you only he sees people as colours not as animals."
She would have believed him, her mommy always told her there were very strange things in this world, and stage growing children was one of them.
"Anyways, I don't know, we just know she always managed to follow us and no one sees her until she starts making trouble," Miyuki grumbled.
Seriously with super awesome people like her ada, ada-tol, River's grandparents and of course Sir Elros who was the captain of the Eastland guard just to name a few it was kind of mind boggling no one had spot her following them!

"Which is why we have Iorlas here," the king said firmly. He folded his hands and looked over at the trembling woman.
Iorlas licked her lips slowly, her mouth suddenly dry. "What do you want to know first?" she asked quietly.

Miyuki cracked open an eye and with still seeing spots closed it again. She wished she could see, just so she could offer Iorlas some support. She didn't need to see to know that her friend was really nervous.

Eregon was the epitome of patience. "Why not begin with just telling us about her," he said calmly. "That way we can assess what level of risk she is to us, and how she can be a risk to us, and see what we do from there."
Iorlas took a deep breath. "Well ... to begin with ... my sister hates elves with every fibre of her being. As such, she doesn't pose a greater threat to any one person than another. She's not here because it's a palace, or because you are king and queen, the rulers of the land ... she's simply here because I have been invited in peace, and where there is peace, she seeks to create havoc."

Miyuki knew it was time for the adults to talk, but she could help but think... why. It didn't make much sense to hate elves when she was an elf herself.
There was a lot that didn't make sense to Miyuki.

"Iorlas," the queen spoke up, her voice filled with doubt, "forgive me for saying so ... but that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. How could she hate her own kind?"
"Forgive me for saying so, Your Majesty," Iorlas replied quietly, "but you are making an assumption, and that is why it doesn't make sense to you. You are assuming that it is indeed her own kind that she hates."
There was silence for a moment as she let that sink in.
Suddenly, River blurted out, "Are you saying she's not an elf?"

"But... I thought there were only three races, the humans, the elves and the dwarves," Miyuki pipped up.
She didn't understand, sure there were her and mommy but they didn't come from this world. Gaia was so much more interesting in that aspect sometimes.

"Remember the gnomes?" Amalirahc reminded Miyuki. "They were a race, too ..."
"Strictly speaking, there are only three ... shall we say ... humanoid beings," Iorlas murmured. "But they are far from the only conscious and intelligent beings."
River looked at Iorlas soberly. "You said you were different from most elves," she recalled quietly.
Iorlas nodded at the girl. "Yes. We are ... very different. In point of fact, we are not elves at all."

Miyuki, even after her whole life time of tails trying to figure out why it was such a big issue to be an elf, not be an elf, be a half elf etc, didn't get it. She never understood why it was such a big deal, but she decided to try anyways.
"So what race are you?" she finally asked.
Even if she knew it wouldn't mean anything to her, Iorlas and her sister looked like elves but then again so did her brother and her mommy had pointed out he was different from elves of this world.
Elves of this world didn't grow in stages.

Iorlas looked around at the many faces in the room, and it was clear from the look on her face that she was afraid - even terrified - to answer that question. Yet she knew that she had to, she didn't have a choice.
She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, then looked over at Lady Kirahn and Amalirahc. "They know."
Lady Kirahn's face was expressionless. "You are dragons."

"Oh! So you're dragons that can take a person form?" Miyuki thought about that.
Actually that made a lot of sense, Gaia had a lot of stories about dragons taken a person form (granted this was not Gaia but it was what Miyuki knew). Miyuki, had very little fear of dragons, the dragons she was familiar with in Gaia were all good and wise (and her Uncle Ryu would give her rides sometimes and her jiji was named Long for a reason). Then there were the spirit dragons of Amalirahc's family and they were all nice and everything.
"That's neat! But I still don't understand why your sister hates elves, or is one of those race things again?"
There was also something to be said about Miyuki being desensitized to the odd.
