Kaori smiled at Knives and nodded with a slight smile, "Alright." She stood up and stretched to loosen up her muscles so that she would get things right and not hurt herself, or make a fool of herself. Once she was done stretching, and popping her back in the process, she looked back at Knives and smiled, "I'm ready if you are." She told him as she bounced on her feet slightly.

Kaori hadn't been expecting the sudden attack, but she instinctively stepped into it and, with her forward hand, redirected his strike down and away from her and then used her other hand to hit him in the jaw with enough force to disorient him. She took a couple half steps back and to the side so she was a little distance from him in case he had further plans.

James had been passed out on one of the academy desk fast asleep, breathing softly and enjoying well earned rest after having read over his medical journal. All the training and such didnt bother him, the veteran used to the den of battle and all of the academy students.
James rolled over and suddenly shot to his feet.
"To Val....hall..." James looked around blearily, and then walked over to Ayame and Knives. "You called for a magic stick honey?"

"Good good. You've seem to got most of it down." He smiled "Now let's see if you can grasp the use of redirecting the lower body." He called a student over to attack him with a kick, as he did so he stepped into the attack avoiding the strike and then grabbed the kick pivoting so that the enemy was off balance and drove them into the ground. "Now you can add an offensive attack as well to this." he said to Kaori.

Theodin held his hands as San had shown him and began to focus. He tried to feel the natural flow of chakra all around him as he stood motionless. San was right, this was difficult, but the young jounin was determined to accomplish it. After a while, Theodin began to feel the natural chakra around him, but very slightly. He continued to focus on the world around him, trying to reach out and find the chakra.

Kaori blinked and looked at Knives for a moment, that was all well and good, and impressive and would be useful; but, "What about the upper body? Shouldn't I learn that first? I thought it was the last step of stage three?" She said, slightly confused, had she gotten ahead and already learned that, or was this a sign that she should stop for the day. This wasn't the first time something like this had happened to her after a long hard day of pushing herself with no real rest.

This time instead of a leg kick he went for a punch, Knives moved slightly grabbing the punch and launching the opponent to the ground. "Naturally you can just simply pull them to get them off balance and then kick them, but I enjoy just throwing them to the ground."
'You sure you taught her the upper body, or you too distracted by her upper body. Oh and I'm sure you'd like to get here on-' 'Alright alright.'

Listening to San's instruction, Theodin switched his focus slightly. He stopped concentrating as hard and opened his mind to everything and everyone around him. After a little while, he started to feel like he knew what was around him, even th his eyes closed. HE could feel the presences of his parents over near knives and kaori, where San was standing. He started to get the feeling that there was wind moving around the room, but knew there wasn't, it was a different feeling, more powerful. Expanding outward he could sense the energy in the few trees and plants around the academy. He stood still, getting used to this feeling.

Theodin's mind snapped back to itself when San thwacked him on the head. Theodin concentrated again, feeling the energy around his immediate location slightly.He very slowly opened up his mind to the new chakra, making sure not to open much, as he could tell it was powerful and didn't want to be overcome by it. He tried to get used to the new feeling, and forget the pain of the stick San hit him with.
