[Nick :: Hawaii :: Beach]

Nick laughed as Demyx fled from Azrael and himself. He always felt out of all the boss battles in Kingdom Hearts 2, Demyx's was always the easiest. The guy was just not a fighter, and was frankly a boring, unthreatening character. The most terrifying thing about him was his mullet, and that was just pathetic. He mulled over the thought before turning to Azrael. "Sorry about that, as I was saying..." His thought was caught in his throat, as inside of his head, Chaos released a pulse of energy to get Nick's attention.

What the hell was that for?! You could have called for me!

Look up, Nick.

Nick glanced up, noticing something- no, not something, rather someone falling from the sky towards the ocean. The person hit the water with a splash and Nick took a step towards the sea. He could sense the Darkness coming from whoever that person was.

Chaos, who is that person? Why is it so important to see them?

Earthling, that person is the host of Ultima. The true Ultima.

True Ultima? What the hell does that mean? You snapped in Port Royal about Ultima...Was he not the true Ultima?

There's a long tale behind the truth about Ultima, Nicholas. Each of us were once deities, assigned by the gods to do a certain task. The gods eventually became corrupted in their views and we rebelled against them. They had to be removed so we can take their place. The gods were enraged that we were trying to take their power and banished us to another dimension where we could not escape. Ultima was furious, we all were. We were damned in another dimension by the very people who created us, stripped of most of our powers. But she, she rallied us up to fight back, to get a second chance at the traitorous gods. The twelve of us were united and opened a portal back to where we came from.

He paused, almost sighing before continuing. His tone became much darker and more spite filled.

Then, Ultima made her move. She headed into the portal and left the rest of us. Without her, we couldn't keep the gate open. In the end, she betrayed us and left us trapped. Then, when you fell into the Darkness, I was able to grab onto your heart and escape from where I came from. The Ultima who we fought in Port Royal was the traitorous witch that I told you about. But the one who landed out there...

That's the one who saved us. Who rallied us. That's the one who you're going to follow.

Wait what? Why should I follow them!?

Because, Nicholas, Ultima will help you achieve what you want most. The power to revolutionize the world.

Nick blinked, unable to respond to his summon's point. It was true; he wanted power before anything else. If he had enough power, he could recreate the world the way he wanted. He wanted to be a god, and if the host of this Ultima could grant him this power, he'd be willing to go along with it for now.

"Azrael, I'll be right back. I need to check out the thing that crashed into the ocean." He nodded at the Replica before leaping high into the air and towards where the Host of the Revolutionary Ultima was waiting underneith the waves. He only hoped that the guy wasn't a totally b*****d who'd stab him in the throat the moment he got close.

[[Louis : Black Pearl : Main Deck]]

The arcanist looked down at Dawn as Michelle spoke, mumbling to himself in confusion, "Opening their door to darkness?" Louis struggled with the concept, "How? It just doesn't seem possible if he could do this to anyone, why isn't he doing it to everyone?"

Louis grimaced, his chest sinking with every second that passed watching the girls cling to each other feebly, helplessly, Ajora... I don't know what your plans are, but I will never let you succeed. If you've somehow made your way inside this girl's body, I have no choice but to force you out.

The boy took a deep breath before quickly wrapping his arms around Dawn and pulling the two apart. With a rather rough hand, Louis shifted her over and pinned her down on her back, long enough to emphasize his notion not to move. Louis immediately noticed the entire time she never released the grip on her hand. He looked to Anthony who still knelt nearby, "Listen, I don't know if what I'm about to do will work or not... but I imagine if it doesn't..." Louis paused and looked at and angle away at the floor, "Never mind. Just... do me a favor and make sure no one touches her or myself."

Louis looked back at Dawn, his mind hesitating a split second to question if what he was doing was truly the right thing to do. Then with a stern voice he spoke to the girl, "Dawn, listen to me, what I'm about to do is incredibly dangerous... I'm not even sure if it will work but... I'm going to need your cooperation. OK? I want you to concentrate on that pain, where ever it's coming from, I want you to focus your mind on that point, think of nothing else. On the count of 3..." Louis touched his hand to Dawn's feeling a sudden spark jump from his hand to hers then back again receiving a jolt of pain significantly similar to the pain Dawn was feeling.

"1," Louis brought his arms back, darkness coating both, "2..." The arcanist closed his eyes and took a deep breath, concentrating and relaxing himself, focusing on Dawn and her plight, the deck seemed to dim despite no extra cloud cover to dull out the setting sun's light, "3!"

Both his palms slammed down on Dawn's hand which clung over the other against her chest. Darkness whipped around the two like a sinking tornado, around Louis, through his back, shoulders, and arms, flowing down out of his palms and into her hands, near instantly burning her glove off revealing the seal beneath, then further still into her chest. It was torrential for a moment, then almost as fast as the wind kicked up it died down in a snap, leaving the two deathly still before Louis slumped and toppled over.

[Alan :: Hawaii :: Beach]

Alan was about to respond to Azrael when his thoughts were cut short by the mysterious plummeting man from the sky, which totally killed the moment (just as well. Alan wasn't really sure what to say.) His eyes widened almost imperceptibly, and almost acting on reflex, he stepped forward. Nick dived, apparently to get a closer look, but Alan was curious, too.

He stepped forward to the edge of the sand before realized the obvious problem with this approach. Right. Water. My mortal nemesis. Alan stared into the dark depths, reluctant to get his feet wet, as if looking for some sign of the divers. The opaque water revealed nothing.

Sighing, Alan closed his eyes to hide the telltale glow and used Clarity. Okay there was definitely a person there - not one he recognized. But that voice had been familiar. . .

Alan dismissed clarity and opened his eyes. "Who was that?", he asked nobody in particular.

The water was lapping at Alan's shoes (which he was still wearing. He was in the same outfit as he was in Angel Grove - buttoned shirt, pants, vest, and a long coat. His regular red-white color scheme was maintained, and all the pieces of the outfit were decorated with a matching and obvious fire-bird and yin-yang theme. His coat was vaguely reminiscent of a wizard's robes from the back, and bore the six-spoked wheel emblem. He was shamelessly overdressed). Alan was doing his best to conceal his . . . strong dislike for water from the rest of the group. No particular reason, it just wasn't something he'd like to be common knowledge.

[Azrael: Hawaii: Beach]

Azrael watched at two guys left him to go find out about the person who fell from the sky. Goddammit, he didn't like that, but doing something about it was too much effort. So what did he do? What he did best.

He rolled over onto his stomach, Bal-Hur's arms wrapped around him, and he pouted. And seethed. And stewed in his dislike of Ajora. Damn you, I was enjoying the attention, you...attention hogging p***k.

[Riku : Beach]

Sighing as things once again calmed down, he rolled his eyes. Typical Demyx. The Nobody sort of reminded him of Sora, to be honest, which only made the nostalgia of the beach more oppressive. He ran a gloved hand through his silver locks; they were getting a little long again. He enjoyed having the bangs to shield his eyes from the beach sun, but he also liked to, you know, see his opponent.

Suddenly, an all-too-familiar voice shouted over the water, catching the Keyblade Master's attention. That was Kyle's voice. He'd fought alongside Kyle, and even talked to Kyle over the charms quite a bit in the past few days. He particularly remembered having his head bitten off by the older male because he hadn't told this group about Rachel, even though Kyle had told him to wait until the time was 'right'.

He was still a bit annoyed.

However, the voice put him more on guard than anything; to the point where he even stood up from underneath his palm tree's shade, advancing out into the sunlight, trying to see what was going on. Kyle, he knew, was on the other side, with Sora. He also knew Kyle wouldn't simply abandon his quest. Fact number three? Kyle had a Replica, just like Joe had one.

And the guy that just dropped from the sky reeked of Darkness just as Azrael did.

"Bobbi... someone protect her..."

That was his cue to summon the Keyblade. Too many coincidences; Riku didn't believe in coincidence.

"On your guard, everyone," Riku said aloud. He'd considered sending it through the charms, but some of them didn't have charms. Nicholas had (stupidly) jumped in ahead of time, not knowing who was out there, but the others could at least get a head's up.

[Amy : Hawaii : Beach]

"Okay, okay," Amy said, "You gotta put me down." She didn't mind being picked up, really, now that she was used to it, and she knew John well enough to know that he liked picking her up. A lot.

It might be in the nature of small people to be defensive about such things. It wasn't a question of if someone drops her, it was a question of when. These things had happened before. While up in the air like that, her thoughts centered around the best way to land when she was dropped; this was a problem because the ocean waves were moving back and forth, creating a nice cushion of shallow water, then retreating, making it too shallow to land comfortably.

Dawn's plea came to her clearly through the trinity charms. The timing of it, combined with someone, she wasn't sure who, cannonballing into the ocean at high speeds, made her think the two were related. The arrival of the newcomer was odd enough that an amusingly confused look appeared on her face while trying to contemplate it.

A man from the sky just cannonballed into the ocean.

She looked over at Bobbi, who appeared just fine for the moment, and who was talking to Kyle and Dani a ways off.

That Nick had the ability to jump so high also struck her as odd. Well, more noteworthy than odd.

[Dani :: Hawaii :: Beach]

“To tell the truth Kyle,” Dani commented to the earth user, “I was looking for either a blue seashell or a pink one. That should help me remember this place. I do not think a purple seashell would exist here anyway.”

Dani suddenly drew up her hands in defense as she heard someone fall into the water. She quickly turned to Kyle before resuming her search for a seashell. “Kyle I believe someone or something has entered the beach area.I just hope this one does not want to fight us.” After she spoke Dani stopped her search for a second to crack her knuckles.

Dani suddenly winced when she heard someone in pain and quickly turned to Bobbi. “Bobbi,” Dani looked to the bow woman confused “Do you know the person that was speaking just now? The voice told us to protect you.” Dani said, straightening up her pose and getting her hands ready to make her chakrams.

[Dawn : Black Pearl : Above Deck]

[Cue : Lothlorien]

Dawn made no effort to fight to keep her hold on Michelle, as Louis pulled her away and motioned for her to lay on the deck. Which wasn't hard for her to do considering she was already pretty much motionless as Michelle held onto her. Her mind only making bits and pieces of what was being said to her.

"...dangerous...."
"....pain..."

She opened her eyes slightly up at Louis, but they were not looking at him. Dawn seemed to be focused on something else behind him, though from her angle, there was nothing behind him, but the sky. Her lips started to move as if she was about to say something, but the words didn't come.

"1"
"Set of four...."

"2"

"...he is after..."

"3!"

With the words parting her lips. Her mind drifted back to the source of the pain, her hand, while her head rested on its side. As her eyes soon started to drift close.

Her mind and heart were reeling inside as she felt the sudden force of darkness being pushed into her. All she wanted was for it to stop. She wanted it to go away, but she was helpless to do anything, but take it.

As Dawn was thinking the darkness was never going to end, it did. Leaving Dawn laying on the deck, motionless. The only sign that showed that Dawn was still alive was the slow rising and falling of her chest.

Jacob ll Deck - Crow's Nest

Jacob had already started climbing up the rope riggings when they had mentioned the crow's nest. "It'll be a little cramped, but the view is amazing. Let's take the easy way." Jacob took the easy way up, clinging to the ropes to the sail-lines, then further up to the crow's nest; he periodically looked back to see if Anthony and Sayrike were following closely enough. Anthony was not. He had jumped down in response the Dawn and Michelle screaming, something Jacob was not fond of. Jacob cracked his neck and sighed, before continuing to the top of the crow's nest. He was useless.

((HOKAY. Sorry that I've gone AWOL lately, life happens. I'm sorry if I've missed anyone's post addressing any of the characters I play, but I've come down with something NASTY and my brain functionality is about a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 right now. Awesomesauce.))

[Black Pearl ~ Deck]

Jack turned his attention from Kyle, Jenny, and Tia Dalma to address Louis' question. He opened his mouth and lifted a finger to respond, only to be beat to it by Barbossa. The captain scowled and began stomping towards the helm.

"Oi! You fecculant lummox, know your place!" He shouted. Jack was going to continue but there seemed to be quite a commotion going on among the earthlings. He paused and watched with a 'weirded out' expression on his face. "There really is nothing ordinary about any of you, is there?"

Tia Dalma's expression immediately went dark. She stood taller and leaned towards Kyle and Jenny in a clearly infuriated way, giving each of them a nasty sneer.

"Ye be treadin' dang'rous waters, boy." The goddess seethed in warning. "Say that which ye be needin' t' say an' be clear of me presence."

[Galley]

Prote paused in his 'storytelling' and glanced at the ceiling for a moment. "There seems to be quite a commotion on deck. Perhaps your time would be better spent with your friends?"

Noelle sighed and shook her head, "No. I'm not going to deal with it right now. I can't."

Prote let another minute of silence pass between them as he read the agromancer's sour expression. "So . . . you are hiding?"

"No! Of course not! . . . well, I--I mean . . . yeah." She moped, pulling her knees into her chest and resting her chin on them.

"I see." Prote said, becoming quiet yet again.

Noelle scowled a little, "Oh come on, don't say it like that! Yeah, I know, everyone is having a tough time, everyone is fighting a a hard battle, most of them probably being harder than mine, but . . . I just don't want to deal with it right now. I'm exhausted, unstable, and I feel like I have nothing left to give. So go on, tell me I'm being selfish, let me feel bad, and leave it alone."

There came another long silence where Prote just stared at her. Noelle didn't feel that it was awkward anymore--it was at first. But it seemed the way that Prote naturally functioned. Say something, get a reaction, pause and think about it, then add something to the conversation. The blonde thought it was curious, but liked it, because it gave her a chance to think as well.

"You are being . . ." Prote began at last--Noelle waited for the word 'selfish'. " . . . Human."

Prote watched as the expression in Noelle's eyes changed as she stared at the stove's fire. He wasn't quite sure what to call it, or even what category of emotion to put it in. It was times like these where he became curious as to what was going on in the other's head. If he was just able to read her thoughts . . .

"After Prototype IV's self destruction I knew it to be possible for the irrationalities of humans, originating from their memories, to have an influence on the functioning of a Geist if there was any structural weakness left unchecked within." Prote continued with his story as if there had never been any interruption.

[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Main Deck]

Anthony moved his hand away as Louis picked Dawn up and watched as he shifted the girl over and laid her on her back. As unsettling as Louis' words were, the young man nodded and agreed to keep others from touching the two. He trusted the man knew what he was doing. He rose to his feet and kept watch to make sure no one would approach them. If they had, he'd extend his arm out and stop them, then gently push them back.

After Louis counted to three, darkness began to violently whip around the two, emitting a wind-like force that caused Anthony's clothes to flap about. The man could feel the tainted power of the darkness and for the first time felt fearful of the power the enemy held as he trembled and gazed with widened eyes at the sight before him. "This... this is darkness?!"

It wasn't long after when things died down and Louis also collapsed. The young man's first instinct was to rush over and shake the two awake, but as soon as he stepped forward the Ivalician's words played in his head and he froze. "Right... don't touch them..." Anthony slowly fell to his knees, then sat, cross-legged, in a meditating pose and leaned forward, placing each hand on a knee, and waited for Louis and Dawn to regain consciousness as he continued to guard them from anyone who tried to touch them.

{Hawaii .:. Tides}

Bobbi was about to offer Dani the seashell she had found, since it at least had blue stripes on it, when she was distracted by the sound of Kyle (not the one she was talking to) screaming "Canon ball!" at the top of his lungs and plummeting into the ocean. Something was... not right about that. For one thing, she knew Kyle-with-Ultima was on the King's Quest, probably on the other side of the world... planet... thingy by now.

Combine that and Dawn's voice shrieking in pain to protect her, and Bobbi was on her feet in an instant, Taulmaril summoned and back in her Ranger suit despite being thigh-deep in water.

"That was Dawn. Friend from school," she said in clipped tones through clenched teeth. "Something's wrong." Her entire body was tense again, though this time was entirely because she was on the ready for an attack. Her heart was pounding, adrenaline coursing through her veins already. Though her attention remained focused on where probably-Kyle-with-Ultima had impacted, she tried to keep an eye out for danger elsewhere.

"I'll be fine, Dawn," she sent back over the charms. Most likely everyone with a charm heard it since she wasn't familiar with how to make things private with them yet. "What's going on?"

Demyx was about halfway to Amy and John when someone dropped from the sky into the middle of their party. Ordinarily, he would have thought of this dude as another party crasher, considering Az and Nick's severe distaste of jokes, but something seemed different.

Maybe it was the fact that the guy was shouting quite enthusiastically at the top of his lungs as he went in.

"Eh, I give him points for an entrance, but nothin' for style," the Melodious Nocturne said, then realized no one was near enough to hear him. He looked around for an audience, preferably of the female variety, and noticed Riku with his Keyblade out, and some of the other kids getting ready to fight, too.

"Aw, man, not again!" he groaned, and wondered if he could just hide out under water with a bubble of air for the duration of this one.

[ Ajora : Beach : Hawaii ]

There was quite a time difference between his landing and his ascent. Indeed, one might have wondered if he'd died, whether by impact or drowning. Nicholas likely would have landed by the time 'Kyle' rose to the surface.

And when he did, he made it rather obvious. His body lifted almost entirely out of the water, and with a comical wide-eyed and wide-mouthed face, he gasped for air, sounding almost like someone who'd died and been shocked back to life. His hair, having been soaked with water, was down over his eyes, and even then it had evidence of waviness. As he caught his breath, he pushes the hair out of his eyes and glanced around at the beach.

"Heya!" he shouted, waving enthusiastically toward the group and grinning- only to notice how startlingly close Nicholas was, which resulted in a loud "GAH!" followed by him recoiling in the opposite direction, ducking his head underwater momentarily and peeking back out after a few seconds. "Dude, not cool."

{Kyle : Hawaii : Serious beach is serious}

When he heard Dawn's voice come through on the charms, his weapons came out instantly, changing him into his ranger suit. He didn't like the fact that Kyle had seemingly plummeted from the sky, especially when he was on the other quest, to join them in the ocean. The fact that Kyle had a replica didn't help matter either.

Still, there wasn't anything wrong with checking. Maybe they had finished up early and were joining them. Not like the chances of that were very great, but it was still possible. Hey, guys, I need to confirm something. Is Kyle with you right now? He sent the message to the other group, not aware that they may have closed off communications.

Waiting on a reply message, he turned to look at where he assumed Azrael would still be. Others were certainly looking at potential-Kyle and he didn't want to get caught by surprise if it was a joint attack. "So how about this nice, relaxing beach party, neh?" He asked the two girls, sarcasm evident in his voice. When he heard the shouting, he glanced over, noticing that the man had finally chosen to surface. He was really hoping they got finished early. Otherwise it could turn into yet another battle with the damned replicas.

[ Kyle : Caribbean : On Deck]

"I know, I apologize, I don't mean to undermine or demean you in anyway," he quickly responded, though he was a bit caught off-guard by the sudden goings-on of Dawn and Michelle. The others seemed to have it under control, though.

"There's going to be a large-scale sea-battle tomorrow morning between the Traders and the Pirates, and you will be freed from your mortal coil," he whispered, making sure that only Tia Dalma could hear him, helped by the wind and waves and the commotion near Dawn. He didn't want Jack or the others to overhear him, Jenny excluded. "What you do during the battle is... unknown, but it's what comes after that my allies and I are worried about."

"As powerful as you are, especially with your dominion being all of the seas in the world, I'm going to assume you know that the worlds have all combined," he continued, in a rather hurried voice in order to get things done with as soon as possible; both to limit the chances of being overheard, and to get the hell away from an angry goddess. "We are emissaries sent to make sure evil does not take advantage of this situation, and we want to keep all the worlds safe from the Darkness. Wise Ones, such as yourself, are being gathered at the Cornerstone of Light in order to figure out a way to restore the world order. I understand you are freedom incarnate, but if we are to restore the worlds, your presence may be of grave importance, especially as a goddess. The decision is, of course, your own and I wouldn't dream of shackling you again, but..."

It was at that point the other Kyle spoke up, asking if he was with the group. It took absolutely zero seconds to figure out why he was asking, and the Dragoon forcefully slapped his forehead with his palm; Tia Dalma likely thought he was merely stumbling over his own words.

"Uh, yeah, he's here with us. Why?" Sora asked, slightly more clueless than the average fighter. He was sitting up on the rail of the helm off to the side of the wheel, slightly in front of Barbossa but not blocking his view.

"Yes, I am with them. Yes, that is my replica, Ajora. Yes, he is an evil b*****d. Yes, you should be on guard."

That message was sent to everyone on the Queen's Quest, Riku included, and everyone who was currently on the ship (since he was assuming he'd sent it to most of them, being that he asked about 'Kyle' not 'you'). His mental tone was annoyed, but obviously at the fact that Ajora was bothering them, not at the question itself.

"I'm sorry, your grace, I just..." Kyle began, slowly taking his hand off his face, but bowing all the same. "I just needed to tell you this before you vanished."
