Vasile pulled at the collar of his shirt, suddenly feeling hot.
"Sick..?" Now that he mentioned it... he was feeling a bit sick. "I'm sorry about that, Ambrose."
He turned and looked towards Ian. "Vasile DiRossi, by the way," he said, stopping his scratching long enough to hold out a hand.
But then he doubled over as a wave of heat washed over him. He flailed, sending his tray clattering off the table.
Then it hit him.
"Oh holy ********>

Ian had just reached out to shake Vasile's hand, glad that he now knew the name again and was about to tell Vasile that they had met once before. . .but then the pretty blonde man doubled over and Ian's eyes widened. The poor guy was changing.
"Um," how could he help? he remembered his last transformation and he hadn't handled it all that well. "Ambrose!" he turned to the wolf in desperation, "what can we do?" Ian didn't like seeing pain and he wasn't sure he could handle seeing a transformation.

Ambrose nodded to Zach as he walked in before turning back to reply to Vasile. "Yeah... they... they think it's because her change was delayed..." His words fell out of his mouth as Vasile doubled over.
"Vasile?!" Ambrose smelled the fear... he could feel the tension in the room, and he got a very uncomfortable feeling. He had seen Vasile look like this once before.
Ambrose had wanted to get his mind off of Angelina... but not by stumbling into another horrific situation. "Oh God... Vasile... are you...?" He swallowed, not finishing the thought, but the connotations were obvious.
He got to his feet, food forgotten and put a furry hand on the man's back.
He shook his head to Ian. "I.. I ... I don't know. Get... uhm... Get a wet washrag? A glass of water?"

Vasile gritted his teeth as it felt like his skin caught fire. Cass's transformation was fresh on his mind as he tried to get himself on a sitting position ont he floor. He pulled off his shirt as his skin burned, beads of sweat all over his chest and forehead.
He made a strained sound, like a scream muffled through clenched teeth as fur started to grow switly over his back. His ears pulled up as they filled with hair, and his fluffy tuft of a tail exploded out farther.

Zach looked up at the commotion. The blonde was now on the floor - he was changing! Zach got to his feet immediately. The last time he'd seen someone go through changes... "Oh no, another change?"
He picked up the glass of water, crossed between the tables, and handed it to Ambrose. The wolf-man was the only person here he knew, so he addressed him alone, fearful of speaking to either of the others present. His question was idiotic, but it was all he could think to ask. "Is he... is he going to be okay?" Zach couldn't watch, he had his eyes closed tightly.

Ian nodded and half jogged over to the counter to get some water andperhaps a towel or napkin of sorts. From behind him he heard a noise and turned to see fur bursting out over Vasile. He turned quickly away feeling ill and grabbed the water and a cloth of sorts.
He ran back to Ambrose keeping his eyes averted from Vasile. "Here," his voice was hoarse. "I cannot watch that." Ian's eyes were shut tight now and he shivered slightly his ears drooping. "It is even worse to watch than actually go through I think."

Ambrose gulped, taking the water and rag quickly, dunkin the cloth in the water and dabbing it over the man's face. But from Ambrose's experience with the change, Vasile likely didn't even notice.
"Oh god... Oh god... Vasile... hang in there..." His ears lay back... seeing Vasile change brought back every painful memory of his own previous change... it was like watching a recording of it - the fur growing over his body.... the very canine features emerging.
"I don't know about that, Ian" Ambrose whispered hoarsley. "It's hard to remember the pain past it's occurance..."
He gulped. "I... I have yet to see anyone perish from the changes, Zach.... not that we'd probably know if they did..... After... after Angelina... maybe it's for the best.... you... you get sick if you don't chnage."
Ambrose kept his hands in contact with Vasile, trying to steady him, but the popping muscles and twinges that passed over the man echoed in Ambrose's own body. It was a horrifying process to witness.

Vasile swallowed, trying to steady himself. He would look up every now and then at the people trying to help him... but he couldn't keep their gaze for long before a wave of pain would send him doubling-back over.
He eventually just fell forward on the floor, curling himself into a fetal position and rocked himself through the rest of the transformation until it was complete. When it was done, every inch of him was covered in silver fur, and his long, bushy tail twitched tiredly on the door. His now fully vulpine ears were drooped low as he finally straighed out. He lay there, panting, sprawled on the cafetareria floor.

Zach opened an eye to look over at Ambrose. The wolf-man's scared expression did nothing to ease Zach's confusion over the changes Vasile was going through.
After opening his other eye as well, he glanced at Ian, who was adamant in not witnessing the changes. The muffled screams from below didn't help. "Angelina?" he asked, trying hard to avoid looking at Vasile. The tone of Ambrose's voice misled him. An islander who died of changes? "Has she changed? Or did she...?"
At long last, he looked down, and the man on the ground was barely recognizable as the same guy who'd been sitting at the table a couple of minutes ago. "Oh god..."

When the muffled noises died down Ian dared to look at Vasile, gasping when he saw him. "Vasile. . ." he knelt down by the silver furred man then stood again quickly. He still felt ill over what had just happened.
Grimacing Ian looked at Ambrose. "Do you suppose this is our final stage,or do you think we change more?" He shivered, "I don't really want to change more."
Then he looked at Zach, "I don't think we were ever introduced, I am Ian." His ears were still droopy and he was sort of slouched. "I didn't want to remember the changes."

Ambrose sunk shakily to a seated position, eyes not leaving Vasile. His ears drooped in sympathy... and the fully furred form of the man before him mirrored in a different color Ambrose's own form. The form that had frightened Vasile when he first saw him like this.
How long ago was that...?
He turned first to Ian, the thoughts echoing his own. "I... From what I remember of my first honest conversation with the staff... and by my calculations after speaking with Amaya.... there is at least another shot after this. Vasile is on the same ... 'step' as I am. Amaya has gone through one more stage than I have."
His jaw clenched to Zach. "She's... she's ill. The staff says she's stabilized.... we brought her into the labs... a couple of days ago... I ... I haven't seen her since."
Ambrose hesitantly wiped Vasile's head again with the cool cloth, wondering if he was still conscious.

Vasile, very slowly, made his away to a seating position, still shaking slightly. He gave a sheepish look to everyone watching, feeling strangely embarassed. His vulpine ears pressed flat against his skull and he looked down at ahis hands and feet. They were still nearly completly human-shaped, save the clawed tips.
"How... how bad is it?" he squeaked out, almost afraid to do more than look at his hands.

Zach turned to Ian. "Hey, Ian. I'm Zach." He shifted nervously on his feet as he continued to glance at Vasile's newly transformed appearance. "I think I saw you before once?"
Zach grimaced at the thought of leaving anyone in the care of those psychopaths. "Well... At least she's getting better... right?"
He didn't respond to Vasile's question, merely staring down piteously. His opinion on the matter wasn't very nice.

Ian nodded "At the cage with the black man." he didn't know his name. "Its nice to meet you Zach." He eyed his tray on the table picked it up, disposing of the food. He didn't have an appetite anymore.
"I hope she is alright," even though Ian didn't know Angelina, he didn't want anything bad (besides what they couldn't change - the changes) to happen to people. "At least one more huh. . .Poor Amaya." He remembered seeing her, "Colche too." he said suddenly remembering seeing her before Amaya, though he had seen both at that stage.
Ian looked at his hands, turning into hooves and wondered how far it would extend. If his hands changed more he wouldn't be able to use them.
Then he looked at Vasile again. "Like Ambrose," he said firmly. "Except prettier." He still couldn't get it out of his head that Vasile was pretty, and men shouldn't be that pretty, he also thought. He just hoped Vasile didn't mind being called pretty.

Ambrose paused in the face of Vasile's question, only to be answered by Ian. Ambrose gave him a slightly put-out look. "Gee, thanks, Ian." His ear flicked back. Even if it was true.
"But... he... well.. I suppose he's right... your hair is longer... odd, even though I haven't cut mine since I got here. But you got a lot ... furrier... your tail looks longer..." He cocked his head. "I don't think you're a dog."
He clapped the man on the shoulder, summoning up a more encouraging look. "It's not bad... hey, I can still tell it's you." His tail gave a few supporting thumps.
"And that's right... Colche's changed a third time too, hasn't she.." He remembered the very feline look in Colche's face. But she wasn't even quite as furred over as either he or Vasile now."
Ambrose, to Zach nodded slowly. " They... say she's stable now.... but I'm still worried out of my mind. They won't let me see her."
