You can never look at games developed outside of Nintendo using Nintendo brands to be like the rest of the series. Take it as something totally new. Starfox Adventures was an amazing adventure game, but because it had the brand of starfox people complained about lack of flight. Also it is the first 3D metroid to use speed boost.
