Tech Magos Sejanus Delpheus A 3+ in close combat! eek I think I'll skip on that "field an army of Gue'vesa" thing. But...then again, it IS a IG army with some Tau stuff right? Just do some converting and pray they don't come into close combat but then again, when you're playing as the the Tau you should avoid that anyways, right? Actually, unless you're palying Tau with human allies, the Tau Gau'Vesa Auxilliary army is essentially guard with tau bits attached. Nothing actually special about them. wrong, there are some special rules.

Delpheus ((Ooops)) Humans get a 3+ in close combat AGAINST the Gue'vesa! eek I think I'll skip on that "field an army of Gue'vesa" thing. But...then again, it IS a IG army with some Tau stuff right? Just do some converting and pray they don't come into close combat but then again, when you're playing as the the Tau you should avoid that anyways, right? The original ones in chapter approved were just a cheap squad of troops with stats just like gaurdsmen with maybe one or two tau upgrades, and only they suffered the being hit on 3+ by humans thing.
You could still make an army with human models in it, its just a bunch of conversions.

They got carapace armor, special weapons, heavy weapons, prefered enemy (orks), and then there was that squad thing you're talking about. The thing was though, they had a "Traitor" special rule, where Imperium and all ALWAYS hit the Gue'vesa on a 3+ roll.

Your playing freaking tau, the most rangy army in the game. Its highly unlikely the imperial guard will make it to your lines...less you play really badly.

Does anyone ACTUALLY read what people say? I said that you shouldn't bother with getting into close combat, regardless on if you're Tau or Gue'vesa.

Well back to the point instead of you and redtuskk bitching at each other. Ive never heard of this All human auxillary army thing. Post us a link. Regardless, you can just use some gaurd models in your tau army that count as firewarriors like other people do. No rules to worry about, no traitor stuff to worry about, etc. And you still get some humans in there.

Would it not just be a paint scheme and some proxy weapons? Like at the end of the Tau campaign in DC?

-Mykal What do you mean by proxy weapons? Im reffering to taking some cadians or some jungle fighters, and some tau armor bits and making humans in firewarrior gear, or just putting a tank commander in the hatch of a devilfishy or something. Pretty simple stuff, maybe a bits order or two, but pretty simple.

As in you use an IG Army list, but paint them in Tau colours, and have a Tau Shas'Whatever as a Commissar to enforce the men, give them Tau weapons as counts-as Lasguns, etc. Feature Kroot Merc allies if you so desire, that sort of thing.

-Mykal Id say modeling humans for use with tau rules is more fluff accurate.
