I'm sort of bothered by something :/
On this site I play on, I just got a warning for spam. For posting short/one word responses to topics.
However it's a forum that doesn't prompt much discussion for one.
And for two, there was NO previous rule, under the section detailing what spam was, that said anything about 'one word posts'
Today a new sticky went up in that forum and the last thing said was a note about short/one word responses, and how it was spam and would be punishable.
However, it's leading me to assume I've being punished for something that wasn't a rule when I did it.
I contacted the mod who warned me, and asked things and explained things, and she replied back that it was a site-wide rule, and that I had been warned then for spam.
But, how is it a site wide rule if it is
not in the rules?
Also, I part-stalk this thread that's basically where a lot of the mods and people who've been there from the beginning hang out, and read that this specific mod has been getting on her mod duties and reading through things and warning people.
So I'm wondering if they might have just got their britches pulled too high.
I don't really care about the warning, it'll go away.
What bothers me is I might have been punished for something that was never clearly defined in the rules. Each site has its own rules about these sorts of things.
:/
The supposed spam posts would have taken place over two weeks ago as well. I was big on posting in places when I first joined, to get post count up a bit, but I was always careful to post at least three words, short comments, and relevant things. I did not want to be annoying and purposefully spamful, bringing up old threads just to post in them, and making one word posts just so I could up the count.
It just bothers me. D: I've dropped it there, but still wanna pokle you guys on here.
God it's late. XD

Spamming here defined as posting the same thing in rapid succession, deliberately posting off-topic, posting adoptables for clicks outside the specific forum, or any combination of those
That's what it says in the Spam section.
Then again, I think it's a place where a lot more things are known by the people who've been there since the beginning, and I think sometimes they assume that the newcomers should just know it, or wade through things, and they get a bit annoyed at always having to explain things.
But you can't just
say something is site-wide and not even have it under the spam section. :/ Public knowledge is not rules. I know Paris Hilton is a moron, but it isn't a rule.
(OR IS IT!!!)
XD I dunno. I feel better just posting about it.
