I'm guessing you don't have really strong prescription glasses, do you? Even though they're right for me, they still give me headaches, no matter what I'm doing. I have one right now because of them.

My aunt was like that. She would like, hang over her bed and have her feet up on the wall to read. I tried doing that, and it just made the blood rush to my head, then I was dizzy the minute I got up. Sitting up is good for me.

No I don't. I'm sorry about that.
I do that a lot actually xD

It's okay, I've had glasses since 4th grade, and they were always stronger than most kid's glasses. But I get regular headaches, sometimes for no reason, ever since I got them.

Haha yeah, I would think you'd do that. But I can't like, lay on my bed and have my book above me while I'm looking up at it or even lay on my stomach and read. I can't even do that with my computer, I HAVE to be sitting up.

While we're talking about our quirks with reading:

I discovered some time in middle school that I can't read in the car. Something about the stationary print and the movement in the background 1. Makes me horribly dizzy 2. Can make me feel like I should throw up (though I've never actually).

I never had much money as a kid, and when I did I would pick up books and magazines from the grocery store... you know, five bucks for an animorphs book. I would get so excited I would start to read in the car but would regret it soon. It would take me minutes to recover.

Oddly enough it doesn't effect me on airplanes. I was able to read and outline a whole chapter of my AP US History text (the book alone is probably over my 'lifting limit') just fine.

I'm also fine reading by candlelight/oil lamp light/wand light. Back when I lived with my Dad and Stepmom, they would often be "What are you doing in here? How can you see? You're going to ruin your eyes! *BLAM*" and turn on the light and make me scream due to the sudden shock. I can still read just fine in low light. I rather prefer it. I don't like bright artificial lights and I've been a geek for so long that the sun bothers me now. Kind of added to the theories about me being a vampire when I was in college. Heh.

Yeah I got to say that I'm lucky that I live in such a overpopulated state that is popular and very expensive to live in. lol. i don't get headaches all that much and only from my sinuses. so, how is everybody keeping cool? I hate the heat also....

Whee~! Going to watch HP at 7:45. (: I'm excited.

Lol, I can read anywhere, too XD Unless it's in a car and the road is terribly winding...but then I get carsick whether I'm reading or not. It's actually kinda hard for me to read in a normal, seated position--I'm the type of person who reads in really weird ways XD

A good idea if you have strong prescription glasses is to take them off whenever you can. I'm only negative 2, but I still get headaches if I have them on the whole day. :l

I like reading in semi-darkness, too (: Unless the paper is yellow...ick. I dunno...something about the bright light makes headaches come on faster, especially if you're trying to focus. Natural light is really nice, unless it's right around noon and blazing with all its skin cancerous fury :l

Wow...I wasn't on for what, two days, and there were three pages added...wow.
Meatball: Really? You get carsick when you read? I have friends and family like that, where they get carsick if they read in a car. I honestly, though, can read almost anywhere.

Oh. My. God. Tom Felton is SO HOTTTT~!!!

Yeah, I just saw Half Blood Prince. -squeals- I shan't give away any spoilers, though. That'd be mean. They're in white n.n

I think Felton actually did a reallyreallyreally good job acting out Draco, especially the scene with Dumbledore and him dying and all. I really enjoyed Rupert Grint's love potion thing, that was really funny! Tom Riddle's new actor, Frank Dillane, pissed me off a lot. (He's a freaking little kid! T__T)

Er...yeah. Anyways, back to normal. I wrote a whole critical review thing, but I think I'll post that later? n.n

narikoxneji: Lol, I know, right? Crazy Ravenclaws. XD

Turayza's Review for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (very biased.)

WARNING: Spoiler Alert!

First things first. TOM FELTON IS SOOOOOOOO HOTTTT~!!!
-hyperventilates-

Aside from his amazing hotness, Tom Felton was a great actor in HBP. I particularly enjoyed the scene on the tower when Dumbledore convinced Draco not to kill him--the emotions were wonderfully protrayed.
More on Draco. (Rather, Tom Felton.) I felt so betrayed! Don't know if you noticed or not, but blonde isn't his natural color--it's brown. (Don't believe me? Look at his eyebrows. Grr.) -sniffles-
Anywhoo, I saw a guy dressed up as Harry Potter XD Believe it or not, that inspired me. (No, not to dress up to go to the movies, you nitwit.) I know what I'm doing for Halloween (: Three guesses for which character?
Right. I was also a tad disappointed with Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy nee Black). Really, black hair? Her hair is supposed to be platinum blonde, like Draco and Lucius! D< Fun fact: McCrory was going to be Bellatrix Lestrange nee Black in Order of the Phoenix. That's right! Grr.
Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange nee Black) had great acting, just like Order of the Phoenix. It was tons of fun to watch, though I felt like her appearance was a little too sane to pull of Bella. (Anyone else bothered by her bent wand? Anyone?)
Right-o, more about things that bothered me. Christian Coulson (Tom Riddle, CoS) was (hot) Tom Riddle in Chamber of Secrets. I miss him. He was replaced with Frank Dillane (Tom Riddle, HBP), a freaking little kid D< I think Coulson managed to portray Tom Riddle a helluva lot better than Dillane did. Maybe it was just Dillane's baby face that threw me off -__-;
Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks) made me kinda sad, too...black hair? Whatever happened to bubblegum pink? ):
Ooh, let's talk about Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood). I actually don't think her acting was as good as it was in previous years, sadly. Some of it was good, but I don't think she quite managed to capture the essense of Loony Luna. :l
On, I suppose, to another of my favorite actors in HBP--Alan Rickman (Severus Snape). He's BRILLIANT! Omg. Rickman has always been the perfect Snape, ever since Sorcerer's Stone. (Especially his interactions with Harry.) I loved the acting and can't wait to see how he pulls off dying in Movie 7. Speaking of dying, on to the unfortunately not-so-great acting of Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore). I miss the acting of Richard Harris, Dumbledore's original actor for Movies 1 and 2. He was just a little too brittle and not gentle/wise enough.
Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) seems to have put on a little weight! Good acting, though. A couple almost-slips of out-of-character-ness, but otherwise great.
Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)...hrm. What is UP with her hair? Was anyone else bothered by the...lifelessness...of her hair? And she didn't ACT like Ginny! It made me want to cry T__T;
Rupert Grint (Ronald Weasley) was amazing as always. (: He got cuter, too XD Especially that love potion bit, that was awesome~!
This movie didn't let me see much of Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), which I was a little disappointed about. She was great in Goblet of Fire. I think the director stole a lot of Hermione's lines and gave them to Ginny (rawr! D<) which was horribleevilnasty but highlighted Harry-Ginny. (Which, by the way, I support. Harrmione is icky :l

There was a lot less action and a lot more talking in HP 6 (yes Preston, 6...not 5.) Then again, the book wasn't much action and a lot of...puzzle-solving, I guess.

Looking forward to Deathly Hallows!
<3 Draco

To respond to your criticism. I will put that in white.

I saw hp twice. Midnight showing with my boyfriend and his little brother, the other with my mom.

I just got a new phone that has internet and that's why I'm typing very short responses.

Here goes the response: As always, Spoiler Alert!

Tom Felton..is much too skinny and blonde for me, lol, he would look so much better with brown hair. I loved the part where he crushed harry's nose a bit.

Blaise and Pansy! I wish we had seen more of them, they were very well portrayed physically, Blaise was hot in my opinion at least.

I was dissapointed with Narcissa's black hair also! Bellatrix was crazy as usual.

Snape, oh, Snape! I love Alan Rickman, he does a great job in portraying him. I wish he would have been more emotional in the end, when Harry fights him but, otherwise, great job!

Luna Lovegood, wasn't as crazy as usual I agree Turayza.

I think the new Tom Riddle was good in portraying the lunacy and darkness that Tom Riddle was supposed to be.

Ginny was supposed to be gorgeous so that Harry would notice her, yeah, he gained a bit and I loved her hair. So straight and perfect, wish my hair was that good.

I actually liked Michael Gambon, even though I liked Richard Harris better. He did great when taking the potion in the cave.

I cried in the end a bit, it was sad and I can't wait until the next movie.

Next movie coming out nov 2010!

Meatball: I can't read in a car either. It's called motion sickness. And that mixed with car sickness is definitely not good. I get both of those, so I've learned better not to read in a car when I already get car sick. So it sucks when my mom wants me to read something off her iPhone and I already get headaches from reading off a computer. So, when you mix car sickness, motion sickness, and reading off a computer-type thing...yeah, not good. But I've never been on a airplane, so I have no clue if it would affect me.

As far as low light goes...my room is pretty much dark most of the time and my mom wants me to turn on my big ceiling fan light, but I'm like "I can see just fine, mom!" And I love reading when it's cloudy outside, it's like perfect reading light.

Para: I have a WONDERFUL solution for the heat...and it's called...AIR CONDITIONING! I may not have central air, but we have those little room air conditioners and we move the air all around the house. It works just as good.

Turayza: I don't get to see it until Saturday...or well, hopefully...if it's not sold out...of course, my dad had to procrastinate to get tickets because he thought that everyone went on opening night so no one will want to go by the weekend...-rolls eyes- HP has a much bigger fanbase than ya think, dude...

I can't see for s**t without my glasses. If I take them off right now, I can't see anything I'm typing and I'm not even half an arm's length away from the computer. And I'm +4 or something like that...I have no clue...but I know it has a 4 in it, haha.

Haha Tom Felton has always been hot, at least to me, so this isn't anything new. But I have to ask...did they stay true to the book? At least, more so than OoTP and GOB?

This is the first movie that I've read some (had to restrain myself not to read ALL) of the book before seeing the movie. The other movies didn't bother me because I finally sat down and snorted the first five books after OOTP.

As per courtosey, highlight for my view of the movie:

1. I've noticed that in 5 they minimized Kreacher's appearance, and in 6 they skipped out on the 'will and won't' chapter where Harry inherits the house. Also 'The Other Minister' was left out as well.

Alan Rickman as snape... *melts* I don't go for older guys, but I've adore his acting since the first movie.

I liked the fact that the Ministry of Magic was buying some of the Weasley Twins' products, and at least the movie did justice to the very colourful insanity of their store.

No fight at Madam Malkin's, but it was alot more fun to watch the spying scene then read about it (and Hermione with her obviously fake attempt at trying to get information).

I was really looking forward to 'the lesson of nonverbal spells' where Ron can't silently jinx harry and harry uses "Protego" to send Snape back into a desk... and is still cute about it and gets a detention that keeps him from attending the dinner party of Slughorn.

I also don't understand (maybe because I haven't finished the book) how when the necklace was delivered, Professor McGonnogal said that Draco was in Detention with her, so he couldn't have delivered the necklace, but in the movie you clearly saw him.

And man, Draco was SHARP. His wardrobe was awesome, and I loved the inner turmoil portrayed when it came time to do 'the deed'.

Tonks didn't discover Harry, Luna did. And when we do finally see Tonks... her hair is not some bright colour and she barely has any lines =/

I think Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix is a great choice. You can tell Azkaban rattled her brain pretty badly, even though she probably didn't need it. I think she's the only person who could talk like that to Snape and get away with it.

No mention of Snape trying to get his book back from Harry though. No cover-switch, and I though he was supposed to confront Harry after recognizing his own spell being used, probably the fight with Draco in the boys' restroom.

Also, no explanation in the movie as to WHY Snape had dubbed himself 'The Half-Blood Prince' in his youth. (With his magickal abilities coming from his mother's side, the Prince family).

Anyways, now I get to finish reading the book and hopefully even more will be filled in. Still would have been nice if they squeezed in the memory about Merope, Tom's Mother. And yes, Tom was confident and HOT in CoS, and still a mere boy in this movie. It rather annoyed me. I'd like to know why they didn't choose/use the same actor.

Of course they didn't stay true to the book...sigh...they never do. The changed a LOT. Tom Felton is even hotter than last time :3
Yeah, my dad didn't believe that tickets would be sold out. >.> I bought them online a day before, and when we got there (we were 15 minutes early!) the place was filled! Not even two spaces together o__O;

Spoilers in white.

I was kinda weirded out, what with Ginny glomping over a ton of Hermione's canon lines. Rahh. Not to mention how major of a character Luna became in the movie compared to the books.

Para: Yeah, I really liked Blaise and Pansy. I actually think Pansy's earlier actress (or is it the same one?) seemed to capture Pansy's appearance better--cute, but snobby. Blaise was definitely hot ;D I think the new Tom Riddle failed to capture the dangerous side of Riddle. I mean, acting was okay for the orphanage portion, but he just looked WRONG, being so little. Or at least, he looked little. :l

meatball: Yeah, I loved the Weasley's store. Especially placed in contrast with the rest of Diagon Alley (?) it looked amazing n.n They cut out the importance of the Half Blood Prince a lot, which was disappointing. :l
Apparently the director said the old Tom Riddle actor was too old. I think he went a little more than too young on this one >.>
They cut out a lot, as usual...it was definitely good, though. (: Definitely confusing for anyone who didn't read the books carefully--they would have been SO lost. XD

I got to see HBP at midnight with my friends, and while I enjoyed a lot, I do agree that they left a lot out.
Spoilers are in white.

1) They didn't say anything about Bill and Fleur getting married. I think they needed that. And apparently from what I hear, the wedding in the seventh movie will be Lupin and Tonks, but that's just what I hear.

2) I agree-I think that Tom Felton is absolutely HOT. Even though he does have naturally brown hair, Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) has to wear a wig, because he doesn't have blond hair, and the Weasley also dye their hair, too, so I don't really have a problem with Tom Felton having to dye his hair blond.

3) I think Alan Rickman is an amazing actor. When he dies in the seventh, I will be in tears. I do agree that they needed to put in why he calls himself the Half-Blood Prince, but oh well. They also needed to put in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class where he teaches them nonverbal spells. But I really like the part at Slughorn's Christmas party where McLaggen pukes all over Snapes robes and shoes-I thought that was absolutely hilarious!

4) I also think that they needed to put in more memories, especially the one with Hepzibah Smith, so then Harry knows what two of the horcruxes are at least, because they don't mention that at all. I do think that the Tom Riddle that they used for the Slughorn memory did a good job in portraying the dark and mysterious side of Riddle, though I do agree that the one in CoS was much better and much better looking.

5) They did a really good job with Harry and Dumbledore when they went to find Horcrux. I'm just mad that they didn't have anything about Harry asking Dumbledore what happened to his hand, and they don't have the "Will and Won't" chapter in the movie, which I was really hoping that they would have.

6) I like how they apparate, it's really cool, because we have never seen anyone apparate before. I was just surprised that they didn't have the part where the sixth years learn how to apparate.

7) They also didn't have the Christmas scene where Percy and Scrimegoeur (sp?) come to visit and he talks to Harry. They didn't need that scene, I just thought that it would be cool if they did.

cool Does anyone know why they put that random scene in where the Burrow gets attacked? I mean, I liked it and everything, I was just wondering. I would have preferred if they had put in the fight at Hogwarts at the end instead.

9) I thought that Helena Bonham Carter and Evanna Lynch both did really good acting again in this movie. I have no complaints whatsoever about them.
