There was a really good Time's Scar cover on the violin that REALLY was beautiful {sorry, I don't agree on both examples above >.> XD} but the uploader has since removed it and put it on his pay to view site. LAME!

It's interesting to see, our personal definitions of "beautiful". xDD I do admit that I show a preference for the "snarky" songs when it comes to classical music (Poulenc's Toccata being another favorite)...but that wasn't the reason why I like most of Ravel's other songs. This is like one of the rare pieces that gives a composer's collection...a nice intrinsic contrasting view. :3
(And five minutes in, when the duet starts, it really is enchanting...)
...but when it comes to performing, you have to get used to looking for showy music. Most audiences don't understand, and look for impressive pieces first, slower-pretty pieces second.
I agree, Time's Scar is beautiful. I heard a duet of that with the piano and violin. But...I still think there's a major difference between plain beautiful and masterpiece beautiful.
Now, Ravel's Tzigane, on the other hand...we're talking masterpiece beauty.

Hehe.. to be honest I didn't like it. Maybe my speakers were too soft or something. It was too quirky and jumpy for me to think it was beautiful. It was like those playful pieces you know? I do admit that me pulling out game music is kinda weird and clearly they're not on the same level but yeah wink
Seriously, that guy's Time's Scar was on a complete other level. I mean you see all these youtube covers. They are like 40% of the splendor. Well.. some are 1%.. his vibrato was phenomenal and his control.. *_*

edit: I... I don't think Andou would write to you about that. crying Sorry... he'd probably surprise you or something. Or maybe he'd get a gypsy friend to tell you. But never written communication which leaves proof behind!!!

I found a version of Tzigane played by a kid violin prodigy on youtube...but that one's piano accompaniment I greatly disliked. And, yeah...to fully appreciate Tzigane you really do need to listen to it at a quieter place (since youtube is not exactly the best provider in sound quality). A shorter clip of Tzigane is here (louder too), with my favorite part from the wonderful anime that first introduced me to it... whee
Now that's what I call godly vibratos. =d I wonder which performer did the clip they used...
Definitely not. o_O Tzigane's beautiful because it's dark...playful??? Really??
