((Sorry, fellas. My weekend was CER-REH-ZEH. As in crazy.))
Steven listened carefully to the recording. For all the screams, his face was impassive. Now he at least had some idea of what the portal was. It was kinda self-explanatory, but the whole up and down idea would be important. It meant that they were coming in from somewhere else, and that they had no control as to when another might open. The foe might have reinforcements, so this mission would have to be approached in a more sniper-like manner - in and out without ever being spotted. Their job wasn't to eliminate the foe, it was a scouting mission, albeit a heavily armed one.
"Very well, Mayor," Steven replied. "Pay is acceptable. This shouldn't be too hard. All I might request is a tiny favor - if things go wrong, a helicopter to pull us out would be nice. That's not a requirement, just a request. If it could be done, I'd like to know."
Then Steven turned back to his team. "All right, folks. This is scouting, not frontal assault, so I expect you to treat it as such. No blasting through the jungle burning everything you see. Don't fire unless I tell you to, even in an emergency. If I'm down or out for some reason, feel free to work on your own, but as long as I'm with you, you do as I say. Is that clear?"

((Hey, PartingGift. I really don't know why you even bother with Anima. He always seems to be busy or grounded, and only posts once every two or three weeks. Too much time in my opinion, especially when I have to wait for my squad))

((Me and my computer are back from the dead. Some defective RAM was causing problems on start up.... then it stopped starting altogether.))
Sokato looked straight ahead. He knew that this would be no easy task. Fighting dragons, while hiding the technology that makes up most of his own body. If any of his squad members where not doing their best it would be even harder. Regardless, Sokato has packed a few surprises, although there would be no way he could use them when bystanders are near. The city was drawing closer, they both will reach it very soon.
Sokato stop in a small clearing in the forest and looks around scanning for Yue. "I should probably rejoin him." He said just before spotting Yue running through the trees. He quickly rushes off and jumps up into the branches into a tree next to Yue. Two steps later and the branch breaks and he falls. He quickly lands on his feet and rushes off.

Azora mentally groaned, and slumped a little in her chair. It can't be helped that her new captain was a total a*****e and was quick in making sure everyone knew his position, or their position if you want to look at it that way. It was too soon though, that would mean she would have to take from her again. If this kept going there would be hell, for her anyway. She wondered, if perhaps.... no that wouldn't work, not unless she was ready to give up everything. Besides she wasn't build for scouting. She glanced to the other, who already knew what was going to happen.
Azora leaned back into her chair. This was going to be easy, there was nothing she really needed to do anything. Listen to the captain, scout out what the hell came out of the portal. Die if necessary.....

Shadow stayed in the tree long enough to come up with a plan, or at least a place to start. He decided to stay in an abservatory status for a day or so. He wanted to determine who had hired him, or requested the service, so that he could make contact. He watched for activities vaguely mentioned in the letter to determine some of what he might be up against.
He saw inocent victims; inocent victims that were tired of persicution and being used, but now acted with the flow of the rest of the villagers; and of coarse, the persicutors. They could be called any number of things: bandits, pirates, gangsters, theives, etc. It was obvious to Shadow after a day, that they all worked together, which ment there wasn't a myriad of situations as was initially suggested. They seemed to 'segregate' into a few groups that wore different outfits and acted differently alltogether, but they worked collectively.
One clue to this was that there was no competition. There was the normal tension of any group, and a little more considering it was such a negative group. Another observed was collaberation between 'segregations'. He understood the possible reasoning behind the apparent segrigation. It was to increase intimidation. The villagers might decide the can take on or fight one big group, but multiple smaller groups. They would think that it would be impossible to take them all on at the same time.
Hmmm. This should be interesting. I know I can protect them, but saving them might take more. I suppose I have a few questions to ask the leaders of the rebel group. I wonder if i should keep my existence on the down low, or if I should make my presence somewhat known. If I walk into town, everyone will see me, inocents and hostiles. The hostiles don't seem to be stupid for the most part. The 'peons' might be dumb, but the leaders aren't. I'll need to learn the structure of the organization, the activities, the ventures, and the assosiations. If the hostiles know I'm there, it might make things harder on the villagers. If I keep under the radar, it might make movement for myself more difficult. I might be able to keep my 'singularity' in the open. Pull info from both sides, for the purpose of taking the villagers side. That might require me to do some shady things though. Hmmmm. I will adjust as I go along. Adaptation and improvisation might be the best way to succeed. I wonder if i can get responces from these glasses. If not, then I will have to save them for only info gathering.
Gragon lifted and flew away. Shadow dropped silently out of the tree and headed toward the road to the town, but away from the town. He got to the road and descretely merged onto it, changing direction back towards the town. This was so he could come across as a traveler of some sort. He got to the town and wasn't surprised when he got stares. even though he was wearing the black duster with hood up. He observed the looks, but ignored them. He knew the layout of the town because of the day and a half in which he watched.
He went straight to the bar, were any stranger might be expected to go when first ariving in town. He entered calmly with an average amount of noise for the squeaky wooden door. He only make noise when he wants someone to hear him, so he did this on perpose to minimize his conspicuousity. The sound of the door cloing seemed to be much louder than when it open, for the entire bar went silent. It seemed that time stopped, or stood still. He observed, without looking, that every pair of eyes, and some singles were focused on him. He ignored the tension and went straight to the bar, sat down, and waited for the bartender. He didnt look around, nor did he speak.
The tension decreased and the bartender finally came up to him. "How may I help you, sir?" he asked. "I'll have a beer." Shadow calmly replied. The locals started to whisper again, but it wasn't a continuation of their prior conversations. They whispered about the stranger that just entered the bar. The bartender hand the traveler a beer and asked, "What brings you to these parts, sir? Will you be needing a place to stay the night?" Shadow replied, "I'm traveling, and I might need a place to stay. How much for the beer?" The bartender lifted his hand with two fingers showing, "Two gold." Shadow responded by putting two gold pieces on the table. The bartender nodded, took the gold, and continued to tend the others.
Now, all Shadow had to do, was wait. Someone would confront him soon. He was sure of it.

Everything seemed to freeze a bit, as a woman formed out of the smoke, and stepped behind the guy that was so talkactive. She held a club that resembled somewhat cold metal. A curious spectator might have mistaken her for tanya Harding, but who knew.... BLAM! The club hit the figure right on the head, and he started bleeding. BLAM the woman screamed in a highpitched voice: "That is not what you have been created for. Bad F******g P******m! Now, give me my medal, you french w***e, and get the f***k out of here!" She grabbed the figure by the crotch, and threw him out of the window. "Yea, run, boy, I gonna show you how I make you my muppet! You gonna squeal like a pig, abigale mae! I won! I WON!" She turned to the rest of the team, and smiled, while her voice suddenly changed to Tech's. "Sorry, folks, that was just a little programming mistake.... apparently, I did not design it totally free of mistakes. So, nevermind, and here we go again." Brian dissolved in smoke, and hung himself around the upper ceiling fan. The scene unfroze, and the mayor leaned over. "Very well, sir. Helicopter it is, then. We have plans, if something serious comes through the gate, we will be able top launch a tactical airstrike to smoke them out..... apparently, the army base from where you started is one of the last big reservoirs of napalm...... we have up to six jets with napalm, and six further ones with rockets and air-land guns.....Well, if you should be out of the way of the airstrike, I am sure the controll helicopters have nothing against bringing you home again. But, as I already said, first we need proof that the situation is dire enough to justify a full scale airstrike. So, no photos, no reports, no airstrikes. By the way, have you any preferred means by which you will hold communication, or will you bring your own? The jeeps which will bring you towards your target area are waiting on the outside, by the way...." The mayor grinned, and looked at the bunch...
((ooc: Sorry, but this storyline is inside of a fully controlled simulated environment, Riku/Requiem. If you want yourself integrating into the whole situation, arrive at the Mishaps Headquarters, go to the simulation room, and there you may find me. The rest: wanna get started? Just say so, and we can begin the main phase. ))

(( Haha, same here Anima, i didn't know whether you wanted to continue sparring or step through the portal xD I'll start things off then, shall I?))
Hearing the andriod speak, Hrisskar glanced at the portal, and saw that it was indeed active, a shimmering filling the space in the metal ring. Lowering his arms, he turned toward the portal, and picked up the backpack from the floor, and once again strapped it on. Glancing at Anima, he nodded.
"Shall we?"

Anima smiled and grabbed the back pack and slung it over a shoulder. He now had his two swords and his dual pistols.
"Let's!"
And with that he threw himself into the portal. But he just kept falling and he opened his eyes and realized that he was falling through the sky.
"Crap."
He pulled the cord on the backpack and his chute opened.

Steven somehow managed to remain completely calm and was apparently not fazed at all by the events, although as Brian departed he said, "I'm going to have many facial expression to show you about that particular moment when we're done here. None are normal."
Then the program was back underway. They had air support, which was invaluable. Without it, the situation might get too sticky for a single team of people to handle. All Steven could hope for was that the air strike would do the job or his people were good enough at hiding. He couldn't be sure, though, so he'd need to be able to stay on top of things.
"Thank you. We'll take care of that. Although - I would hope you have a few cameras. I didn't honestly think to bring mine. I suppose I hoped that you would trust our word for it. As for the communication, radio would make sense. We know that the helicopter lost everything but radio, so we go in primitive, we apparently survive. Anyhow, old stuff is more reliable."

Turning to watch as Ace, gracefully, fell from the sky. Shadar reached out, trying to make the tree do as he said. But as he tried to inhale a breath, his throat closed. 'Damn this poison.' He swore in his mind. Forced to drop his kinesis, yue turned and kept running ahead. Soon he stood at the edge of the forest, his back to turned to face the unknown, while he stared down the path looking for Ace. Yue looked kinda pitful. His skin, already, a ghostly white, had taken a sickly ash tone. His pointed ears had a slight tint of red to them. Compared to his normal form, it was different but it be difficult for anyone to tell what was wrong with him. Swifting the pack on his back, he slipped it off and set it next to him, which he constantly used for support. 'The poison is taking more effect then I should have allowed.' Yue cursed himself under his own breath. 'If only I hadn't been so weak.' That very thought was the reason he went to Mishaps, hopeing to get stronger.
