Chakra: 6-4+4=6 Progress: 2/10 Ikasu knew that he had to start getting productive and efficient if he wanted to catch up with all of the other students in learning all the new jutsu. After he cleaned up all his shuriken from the last exercise, Ikasu started to prepare to learn the transformation jutsu. What did he even want to turn into, anyway? He thought that it would be funny to morph into a Hoshigaki boy, so he focused on trying to gain gills and turning his skin blue. He also wanted to be taller and have sharp teeth, but none of those wishes came true as he exerted chakra to change his shape and size, but all that ended up happening was a cloud of smoke and his hands turning blue. He looked at the rest of his arms and all he saw was a normal shade of human colored skin. Assuming this had happened to the rest of his body too, he then tried to start off with something easier. Thinking of the smallest animal he could think of, he put his hands back into the sheep seal and turned into a rabbit. He immediately felt the world get bigger as he shrunk in size and grew a fuzzy tail. Turning back before anyone saw him turn into something that pathetic, he did it again, except he turned into a male version of Sukauto. He crawled over to where she was to try and surprise her, but all she did was growl at him. Thinking to himself that he should work on her manners a bit more, Ikasu turned back into his pleasant self once again. Having quite the decent amount of fun with this jutsu, he didn't want to overextend his chakra too quickly, so he took a seat and stared at some clouds until he felt like he was ready to get back up and start learning again. He started daydreaming and thinking of the multitude of things that he could turn into, what should he try next? He started running through objects that he might need to turn into spontaneously on a mission and then decided to try some inanimate objects next, first a tree and then perhaps a bush.Quote: The user utilizes the sheep hand seal or the tiger hand seal and concentrates their chakra to assume the appearance of another person, an animal, or even any object. Chakra: 6-3+3=6 Progress: 5/10 Ikasu put his fingers in the tiger hand seal this time, just to see how different it would be. He felt his chakra still flowing out of him, but using the tiger hand seal, it was almost definitely going faster than using the sheep hand seal. Not used to that much chakra leaving his body that quickly, Ikasu became light headed pretty quickly and almost fainted right there. Thinking that he probably looked kind of pale and was probably quite the sight, he tried to keep his composure and finish the jutsu. He visualized a somewhat taller than a man but shorter than a red oak tree, and he felt his limbs extending into branches and his hair elongating and changing shapes to become leaves. The next thing he knew, he was looking out from a tall perch, and being a tree felt strange to Ikasu. Leaving the form, he shook off the discomfort of his body "being something" that it wasn't used to be. Ikasu just tried to remember that the Henge jutsu didn't actually change him into a tree, it just gave off the feeling that he was a tree, and that others would see him as one. After that he just tried changing into various shapes like more trees, bushes, and even a small baby tree. Obvious that he was definitely getting the hang out it, Ikasu just wanted to get this tedious exercise over with. Even the prospect of finishing this jutsu didn't appease Ikasu, because after this technique there were countless more that he had to master. He wished that he could just do his own thing, or at least have Taka just straightforwardly tell him what to do. It seemed so much easier when Taka-sensei helped him do it, but it was alright because at least he was doing fine on his own. Taka was happy, everyone seemed to be doing just fine and, more importantly, seemed to be getting along well enough. He had been watching over all of the all the students, and mentally noting that Batsu went to the Library, when Akemi asked him to demonstrate. "Sure I can." He said to Akemi with a smile as he had the boy tie his hands together. "Ok, you've already learned how to control your chakra so, you simply focus it to the area where you are tied. Then you use the chakra to enhance your movements...." Taka began to move his hands gently, causing the rope to slowly fall off. "And eventually the rope will fall off." After he said that the rope became loose and fell off of his hands.+5 to next roll Quote: Nawanuke no Jutsu (Rope Escape Technique) A basic technique taught at the Ninja academy. Chakra: 6-5+5=6 Progress: 8/10 Ikasu wanted to get this jutsu done with, but he knew that he had to prove himself worthy by correctly doing it ten times, as with pretty much all the first jutsu that one had to learn in the academy. Sighing deeply, he once again tried to pump out as many clones as he could before he passed out. Getting dangerously low on chakra, Ikasu knew that he had to finish this quickly before he basically passed out in front of everyone there. Getting extremely anxious, he attempted to go straight from transformation to transformation with no middle ground to rest. This was a seemingly good strategy until he realized that he was running out of chakra and on his fourth try out of five, he got an instant migraine as the chakra left his body in an attempt to change his structure but it didn't work because he hadn't been focused enough. Rubbing his eyes and massaging his head, Ikasu groaned out loud and was feeling very sympathetic towards himself and how much he was doing just to get this jutsu over with. Trying once more to get to an even number of attempts, his fifth try did not get any better than his fourth try. He felt as if turning into a dog was the most difficult thing to do in the world, and he was just half a dog. With the legs and fur on his lower body, he definitely felt weird as the transformation hadn't gone as well as he would've liked. Ignoring the failure, he just sat down and took a well deserved break. He looked around to the other students and he saw that Taka-sensei was helping the Hoshigaki learn that one technique that required the student to use chakra to escape a roping. Ikasu didn't particularly look forward to that exercise either. In fact, he definitely felt as if all these jutsu were completely extraneous. After the academy, he was probably never going to use any of these jutsu ever again and he definitely knew that. The only exception was the bunshin jutsu because he thought that that had some actual value in the real world, but really, would he have to escape a rope using chakra? Highly doubtful. Ikasu ignored his own contempt and kept practicing because he knew that this was what he had to do to get out of the academy, get his own headband, and start his own shinobi adventure. Taking a few minutes to catch his breath, Ikasu had definitely underestimated the difficulty of some of these techniques. It had taken him the better part of a few hours to learn the bunshin jutsu, and now he was having trouble with the Henge jutsu. What was wrong with him? Feeling not disgusted with himself, but getting pretty close to it, he was definitely feeling incompetent in the ways of the ninja. If only there was some kind of shuriken based jutsu that he could learn, that way he could show everybody the area that he shone in, and show off his abilities to the somewhat rude seeming Hoshigaki and that other kid, who was nowhere to be found. Ikasu thought that he had gone in the direction of the library, but he didn't care enough to follow and figure out where he had gone. His top priority now was definitely to get on track with the other students and try to get to their area of expertise in jutsu. Chakra: 6-2+2=6 Progress: 10/10 Definitely wanting to get the training over with, Ikasu rapidly changed into another dog successfully and then wanted to change into a cat. Then again, he would probably never have to turn into another animal during a mission again, so this time he tried the Hoshigaki form just once more. This time, however, unlike the very first trial and error he had gone through, he successfully transformed into a gill-having air-breathing fully tall Hoshigaki. Feeling quite intimidating but also at the same time queasy, Ikasu relinquished the form and wondered how they constantly kept up their appearances. No wonder they were all mostly cranky and unsocial, being a Hoshigaki for even a split second had made Ikasu feeling angry because of the intensive shark hunger he was feeling, that coupled along with the not so comfortable breathing of air while he had gills and lungs. Somewhat understanding now, Ikasu resolved to try and treat some more Hoshigaki's better, as long as they didn't cross him in combat and they were somewhat nice to him. He had finished the Henge no Jutsu training! One step closer to being a Genin, he started thinking of the next jutsu that he had to master.Quote: The user utilizes the sheep hand seal or the tiger hand seal and concentrates their chakra to assume the appearance of another person, an animal, or even any object. (Enter from the library)
Batsu came back to the training grounds just to see the tail end of a technique that Taka-sensei showed Akemi. Too bad that he only saw thhe result of the jutsu and not the steps that lead him there. The combination of that and the fact that anyone would would go out of their way to help that fish-smelling b*****d infuriated Batsu. He scowled heavily and punched the same tree that he used to wipe Akemi's remnants of his hand. The boy punched the tree quite hard and it caused his knuckles to crack and his hand to bleed. The boy's anger masked the pain, so he just stood there angry and his hand bleeding.

Taka silently watched over the students before decidig to take note of the tme. He suddenly straigthened up "Crap..." he said under his breath, he was going to be late for a very, very important meeting he had. He quickly pulled out a scroll and wrote something done on it. He then whistled for a messenger bird to come over, and he attached the message to the bird's leg. Only a few minutes later the Chuunin Natsumi came into the Academy. "Natsumi I have to take care of some things, watch over and help the students will you?" After she nodded yes he explained to the students what was happening and set off to his meeting. Batsu watched as Taka-sensei disappeared in a flash. He caught what the deal was, but he didn't figure that it was so important that he'd leave the academy like that. The boy just shrugged and took a look at the girl who took Taka-sensei's place. The first thing he noticed was the bad-assed hawk that she had with her.

Quote: Chakra (Ability) Training: 10/10 Pass DC 10 (17) Kagamijiro, having slept a good night's sleep before starting the day today, returned now to his training spot. He was ready and amped to continue the exercises. "I just need to focus harder, and put more effort into it, and I'll get stronger." He said to himself as he bowed to the tree he trained by. It's almost as if he recognized the soul of it's essence. After giving his audience some respect, he turned and pounded a fist into a palm, and began to flare his energy outward, and then to circulate it to rejuvenate his tired old chakra into new, stronger chakra. It was working, and he could feel that this would be some decent progress.(10) The Mist academy student, kept up his hard work, and effort. His determination to grow stronger was matched only by his will to try and follow through. "Come on..." He grumbled through gritted teeth. His energy flaring and circulating had finally resulted in something. He could feel it too. Kagamijiro sighed a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his brow before he turned to the tree and went to go sit underneath it's shade.

Chakra: 6-4+4=6 Progress: 4/10 The next jutsu on the list of basic academy requirements was Kakuremino no Jutsu. Ikasu was somewhat familiar with this technique because he had seen a few of the other kids playing with this and pranking each other. Being the somewhat rude person he was, Ikasu didn't exactly have any other friends other than Sukauto, but she hardly counted. Brushing off the fact that he hadn't been a victim of the jutsu firsthand, Ikasu went to work trying to remember how exactly the jutsu worked and what he was supposed to do with it. He noticed that Taka-sensei had left in a hurry, and that a somewhat provocatively dressed girl with green hair. From the looks of it, she was more than twice as old as Ikasu, but that didn't stop him from asking for assistance. After all, she was there replacement for the teacher in the area, so he thought that he might as well ask for some help. He had seen her before helping around on miscellaneous tasks around the academy, so he was already decently familiar with who she was and her capabilities, so he felt comfortable requesting assistance with his jutsu.
"Hey Natsumi-sensei, are you Taka-sensei's replacement for now? Can you tell me if I'm doing this right, I'm not entirely sure if this is how I'm supposed to be doing Kakuremino no Jutsu."
Ikasu drew a camouflage blanket out from his hip pouch and walked over to a tree and threw the covering over himself. Waiting for a response from Natsumi, he tried to hold as still as possible to see if the effect was what he wanted.
After about four minutes, Natsumi was impressed with the composure of the young boy asking him for help. Although it was somewhat obvious that he was hiding there, he did quite the satisfactory job, especially for someone that had just picked up on the jutsu. Signalling for him to come out, she told him how impressed she was with his abilities.
"That was pretty good for a first try! You held the position for a pretty long time, so why don't you take a breather, and I'll show you how to do it perfectly?"Ikasu was grateful that he was relinquished from his position next to the tree, and he was amazed as a second later, after looking away for just a moment, he could no longer see Natsumi. Amazed, he picked up his blanket in order to try and copy her.

Chakra: 6-5+5=6 Progress: 8/10 Glad that he had asked Natsumi-sensei how to do the technique after his initial successes, he felt as if he wouldn't have been able to hold his position and composure for as long as he did for his next attempt. This time, he walked over to a nearby wall and tried to channel his chakra to match the multiple hues of gray that plagued the entire wall for dozens of yards. Ikasu didn't breathe, so that the camouflage blanket didn't give away his movement as the air left his nostrils. He held that position for a few minutes, but then eventually had to breathe again. Exhaling loudly and deeply, even Ikasu noticed the faint shiver in the blanket as his breath hit it hard, making it move and shake. Sighing, Ikasu knew that he would have definitely revealed his position in the case of an enemy trying to locate him. Sucking in once more, he held his breath for another minute to try and redeem his most recent failure. Walking over to Natsumi once more, Ikasu asked for help.
"So Natsumi-sensei, I think I did it right a few times, but can you give me any other hints as to keep completely still? I find it somewhat hard to keep the blanket perfectly still over my body and keeping still is kind of a problem for me, heh.""Easy enough, just try to keep your feet together, and don't worry about breathing, most of the time people just ignore that if they see a shimmer in their surroundings, so unless they're specifically looking for you, you can easily ambush someone, even if you're breathing, haha." Natsumi continued to ramble on about keeping one's muscles the same distance away from each other and spewing out random physiological facts about the body that would help in keeping stealthy.Holding his breath for half as long as he had the first time, Ikasu let the blanket drop to the ground as his lungs screamed for air. Feeling slightly light headed now due to his silly attempts to do anything to hold still, he did his breathing exercise, extending his arms into the air to open his chest so that more air could enter his lungs. Retracting his body and stepping back, he stretched in the other direction to catch his breath fully. Thinking about how fast he was making progress, Ikasu was definitely enjoying himself now that he had gotten into a rhythm and knew what he was doing. He pulled the camouflage cover over him one last time, and held the position using the advice that Natsumi-sensei had given him to perfection. When he felt that an adequate amount of time had passed, he let it drop to the floor and felt as if he had been extremely productive and that he had successfully learned the jutsu! Satisfied with himself, he focused on learning the next jutsu on the list, Kawarimi no Jutsu. This one involved a bit more chakra control that Ikasu had, but he was sure that with his skills and Natsumi-sensei's advice, he was sure to be able to master the rest of the jutsu that he needed in no time at all.Quote: Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility Technique) This technique is where one uses a cloak or a piece of cloth to make oneself blend in with the background, making oneself appear invisible. He was just a tad bit shy, but all of that had to stop in order to get where he needed to go. "Uh... hi, I was just wondering if-" the boy paused as he was interrupted. "Wait just a second!
