Honehime looked over the array of bowls, although bowl was not quite the most applicable term that could be used for most of the containers. They would work just fine, and that was all that mattered. When she heard Sakazuki's question if everything was ready, she nodded curtly, then took one more look, to see if there was anything they were forgetting. Napkins and things like that would be nice, but were hardly necessary. It did look like everything was ready to go. Seeing Sakazuki pick up a bowl to begin her meal, she waited only a moment before doing the same. All of the work that had gone into mnaking the meal, she had worked up a good appetite.

Lieselotte took one last look over their camp, doing a quick head count. Earlier, there had been seven people in the group. One seemed to have vanished entirely, while three of the others had gone off to take care of various... activities. She blushed slightly as she recalled seeing Mei and Shuku lying tangled together on the forest floor, and quickly rid herself of that thought, instead picking up one of the beakers so she could distract herself with food, if nothing else. Hopefully the others would return soon, it wouldn't do for them to come 'home' to a cold dinner after everything that had already happened. Then again, with the way this group seemed to be working out, it was just as easily believable to believe some of them wouldn't be back until morning.

Mei looked back in confusion at Shuku for a long moment, seeing her look herself over quickly. Perhaps she wanted to make sure that her own clothes were back where they were supposed to be, like Mei's now were. But if that was the case, why didn't she just ask Mei? Then she did ask Mei, only she asked something else. A simple question, really, what did she smell. She blinked, wondering if it was a trick question, like if the answer was supposed to be 'with her nose' or something like that. She'd heard that joke one time before, it had been funny. She blinked again as she realized her mind was wandering again, and answered Shuku's question. "What smells so strongly? Supper of course! Now come on, let's go eat!" She gave Shuku's hand another gentle tug to help urge her on.

Sai Orimara walked along the crescent cove of the Moon Village Island on his way to the academy. He walked barefoot because he liked the feeling of water washing up against his feet. He was born blind. Such is the curse of the Orimara's Branch family. He didn't hate the family head for imposing their authority the way they did because he knew deep inside, Usagi wouldn't want him to feel resentment. Their authority only made Sai work harder so that one day he would surpass them. Being born with a handicap only showed that when Sai accomplished something, it was because of true skill and not just nobility. He was trained in the art of Nakagawa style fighting at a young age so his blindness is never a deterrent in Sai's life to become a shinobi. The air all around him helped him 'see' the world as it is. The air currents showed him where objects are obstructing his path and when a wide open field lay in front of him. Sai's father promised to teach him a new way to see the world. It involved the use of chakra. Sai couldn't wait to find out what it was. He neared the academy, hearing the sound of children laughing as a warning. Sai stepped inside the classroom, taking his seat at the front row. A few minutes later, their sensei arrived. "alright class, today we're going to work on our taijutsu training." This was answered by moans and groans. Sai smiled wryly to himself. He always won hand to hand combat matches. The Nakagawa fighting style helped him predict his classmates movement so that he could easily counter them. Two head members of the Orimara clan were in Sai's class. Oh did they hate him. Sai always put them to shame at the academy. Being from the most powerful clan in the village made them arrogant and lazy. So while they were putting off their shuriken practice for later, Sai was outside in the rain hitting every single target. "come on sensei! We all know Sai's gonna kick our butts! Save us the embarrassment." The teacher chuckled and said "when you get closer to actually hitting Sai, it means your making progress!" Truth was, Sai usually held back so that they wouldn't feel completely embarrassed when Sai beat them. He didn't like their sensei being so hard on them. The annoyed class left the classroom and walked down the hall into the sparring dojo. They all sat along the wall as their sensei lectured them on the art of Taijutsu. Finally, he began calling up students two at a time to spar. Finally it was Sai's turn.us He had been paired up with a member of the head family. Just before he got up, thwomp two head Orimara's snickered to themselves. The instructor started the spar as he always did. As usual, Sai was winning as if not even trying when suddenly a wave of piercing pain shot through his body. He cried out in agony but the pain left as quickly as it came. He reassured his sensei that he was fine and could continue. Suddenly the pain shot through him again. Sai finally recognized this pain. He shot his glance at the Orimara sitting as he collapsed to the ground. Everyone's eyes followed. Sure enough he was making a hand sign. The sensei saw him before he could undo it. The smirk on his face couldn't have vanished quicker. Their instructor shouted at the top of his lungs, grabbing the two head Orimara's by the ear dragging them out the door. They had been exploiting the curse mark Sai bore on his shoulder. When the heads of the clan heard about this, those boys were going to be in major trouble. The rest of the class crowded around Sai asking if he was ok. He nodded and assured them he was fine. From outside their sensei was shouting at the top of his lungs. The word 'jealous' was said a few times.

Later that day, Sai was taking his usual trip down the beach to get home. He was about halfway down when he heard a voice shout "oy! Sai! Wait up!" He stopped to face whoever was calling him. He heard two sets of feet running towards him. The first voice indicated it was the two Orimara brothers. Sai tilted his head when they reached him. He wasnt sure why they were coming to talk to him. "hey...we just wanted to say we're sorry." Sai looked down at the ground and replied "its ok. I know me being a show off at fightingenuity gets really annoying." The two Orimara heads grew watery eyed an threw themselves in a hug around Sai "its just that your so good at everything and we're not!" one sobbed "yeah! truth is, we want to be just like you" said the other.com Sai felt a bit awkward as they hugged him but he patted them on the back as he smiled with pity. The boys walked home together. They played games and lauged along the way. As they reached the Orimara clan's housing, the boys became more quite. they knew the moment they went inside, they were in for a lashing. It was a capitol offense to abuse the Branch families curse mark. When he arrived home, Sai's father asked if he was ready to learn that new technique he mentioned this morning. Sai declined claiming he was too tired an that he'll learn it tomorrow. Sai fell on his bed with his clothes on. He was so tired that he was asleep before his head even reached the pillow. That night he had a very strange dream. He was trapped in a sea of indigo satin, almost being swallowed up. Then the sea of satin turned into a sea of people dancing in a ballroom. They all had their eye lids sewn shut. Sai tried getting their attention but they ignored him. Finally he just screamed at the top of his lungs and no one even looked over at him. He woke with a start. His face was drenched in a cold sweat. He pressed a button on his alarm clock. It spoke out the time. "six thirty four AM" He wasn't sure what his dream meant but it probably had sonething to do with him rising above the other Branch Orimaras. Said figured he might as well get up. It seemed pointless going back to sleep. Sai got up and made himself breakfast before getting an early start on his training. It was saturday morning and the Orimara district was silent except for the running water of rhetoric fountains.

Sakazuki blinked as she raised her makeshift spoon to her lips, taking in a small portion of her cupful of stew. It wasn't a particularly magnificent meal, but for a spur of the moment dinner, it was rather good. Adding the cowgirl's milk had evidently been a good call as the Circe felt the creamy texture on her tongue. It felt more like fresh cream than mere boiled water in her mouth. The herbs and spices had also done enough to bring out the taste in the rabbit as well.

Excellent.

She looked up from her meal however, hearing the rustling of underbrush in the distance. "And so, our troupe is slowly getting back together.

===

"Supper, huh?"

Thank ******** God.

As cruel as it sounded, she was quite glad that Mei was an idiot... Or perhaps ignorance might've been the proper term? Either way, it seemed that the girl merely kept up a constant image of childish innocence. It was almost cute in a sense, but in this case, it also served as a grand convenience to the Mayonaka in this situation. Eventually, she consented to Mei's urgings and continued on forward, eventually breaking through the bushes, stumbling back onto the campsite as she stared towards the fire, then eventually, the trio around it.

Honehime picked up her mess tin and moved a short distance away from the fire before sitting down. By now, the fire had driven out all but the last vestiges of stream water from her clothes, she was finally starting to feel relatively warm again. Hopefully a hot bowl of stew would do the same to her insides. With only the smallest degree of hesitation, she took a small spoonful into her mouth and slowly tasted it, before finding out her results seemed to be the same as Sakazuki's. That the stew, while certainly not five star, was certainly good enough for a rushed dinner made by mostly untrained cooks.

Lieselotte wasn't quite as trusting of the stew as the others, she waited until a moment after both of the others had tried it before deciding it probably wasn't poisoned. She then took up a bowl herself, but just before she had a chance to try some, she looked over to where a rustling sound was coming from the bushes, to reveal two of their errant group members. She felt her blush try to return but fought back against it. Even so, she couldn't meet either of Mei or Shuku's gazes, not after what she had seen. Instead, she looked back down at her bowl of stew and quickly took a bite, using that as a distraction from trying to think of a way to welcome the two without letting on what she knew.

Mei gladly pulled some more on Shuku's hand as she burst back into camp, taking another deep whiff of the freshly made stew, before releasing Shuku's hand as she rushed towards the fire. Her mouth was watering, the combination of the savory aroma of the stew and her own gnawing hunger was enough to make her very hungry. Without waiting any longer, she snatched up one of the bowls and plopped down right where she stood, before digging in. Around the third mouthful or so, she made a loud, and only somewhat garbled, announcement. "Id'd goodf!" Of course, what she meant to say was 'it's good', but there was a decent chance that the others would understand her anyways. Especially if any of them had had to deal with children before. She swallowed another bite, then looked up to see the Mayonaka, and beckoned her to hurry up and come get something to eat.

At the age of thirteen years old, Jackal was a promising student in the academy for his abnormal acrobatic and stealth skills. Surprising many of his class mates and teachers alike in a scuffle in the yard with a Genin, they were surprised he had obtained a victory. Being his first day in the academy and winning a fight such as that showed great promise for his future. He never showed much interest in the compliments that he received that day after his fight. Long before hand, he studied chemicals and mechanics. Never really enjoying the idea of being an actual ninja, in his view, he could obtain some thing much more promising then them. With such an advanced knowledge in gymnastics, chem, and mechanics, some wondered what he was planning. On his second day of the academy, they were brought in for a bit of chakra testing. Not caring for the matter, each student was to focus their chakra into their feet. To get pass the day faster so he would be able to go through with his plans, Jackal casually walked across the water to his chunin teacher. Many jaws were dropped that day but none were actually surprised. Doodling on the water with hand stands and playful disappear acts using his jars of chemicals,some were growing suspicious of the mischievous hyena. Later on that day when being advised by a squad of Jounin on recent missing nin, Jackal so happen to be one of the few witnesses. Not turning the missing nin in, watching Jounin search for them was indeed an entertaining sight. Knowing full well where the missing nin were, his classmates soon discovered Jackal was hiding some thing. Though a head on confrontation with the jester would be madness for the classmates, they hired a squad of Genin. During the last hour of class, Jackal was asked out of class for an important meeting. Cheerful as always, he left in style doing various flips. Being questioned by the squad, they were growing impatient with his smart remarks regarding their lack of intelligence. When it came to the point they tried to use force, a fork pierced the throat of a Genin. Honestly, no one meant it to go that far but it did. An anbu watching over the situation quickly put it to a halt. Seeing that the student would be quickly pummeled by the squad, Jackal was brought among the council. Noting his actions as high treason yet self defense, they each debated for many hours on what to do with him. Coming to a conclusion on his sentence, he was ordered into banishment.
All was not lost for the gentle trickster. He received his headband for his show of skills but was still cast out to never return. Never wearing his head band, his goggles were the only equipment he would ever wear on his head. Not bothering to put a slit across the sign in his headband, it was crudely stashed into his back pack. Collecting what he needed to fill his utility belt and backpack, anbu lead him out before he was able to cause more trouble. Cracking jokes on his exit out from the village, it wasn't surprising that villagers wanted to bust his chops. Literately getting the boot out the front gate, he laughed wildly like a hyena in a high pitched tone. Defending himself from a bunch of jerk off Genin got him exiled from his village, even though they were the ones to assault him first. Adjusting his backpack straps over his shoulders, he whistled while he skipped playfully away from the gate. Leaving for the docks, the village kage was yet to face the end of Jackal. Not only pissing in his cornflakes before hand, his juice was laced with laxative for a good long bathroom break.

"Hey, ith Thugu 'nd Mei!"

Sakazuki's mouth was full by the time the two other kunoichi finally did make their appearance... Though evidently, the Circe did not let such a complication stop her from getting her thoughts across. In her mouth-stuffed outburst however, she took note of Lieselotte's suspicious, almost cautious, style of eating, though she said nothing, as her attention seemed to be more on 'Mei' and 'Thugu' anyway as she paused only to raise her cup to her mouth, noisily slurping up the glass's contents.

===

Shuku stared at at Mei, her hand lightly holding her own beaker-bowl of stew. Mentally, she attempted to translate what Sakazuki, and later, Mei had said. Whether or not she had actually succeeded, Shuku did not know, and as her stomach wambled once more, she not care as much either. Slowly, she lifted the stew to her nose, taking in the aroma of supper before she lowered, gripping the 'spoon' - which, in reality, was one of Lieselotte's distributed puppet parts - before she raised the food to her lips, taking in a mouthful.

While of course, it didn't compare to home cooking... It wasn't bad. Not bad at all.

Honehime looked up upon finally seeing Mei and Shuku return to camp, seemingly none the worse for wear. Although now that she thought about it, if they had gone to get the milk for the stew, then why did Lieselotte have to go get it, then they returned some time later? But she didn't let herself worry about it for too long, instead she focused simply on eating her meal, slowly but surely. She blew on each spoonful, as it was still steaming and hot enough to possibly burn her tongue a little. Her tongue was fairly sensitive, at least when it came to the temperature of whatever she ate.

Now that the others were all eating and still acting perfectly normal, or at least as normal as their unusual group could possibly be, Lieselotte dug in with a little more zeal, finally sating the hunger that had slowly been growing within her. The stew was good, although she still wasn't sure about it. She knew enough about poisons to know that some were fairly slow to take effect. But those types were a little safer to work with, as they generally took time between the first onset of symptoms and the full effect. So if there was a slower poison, she'd have time to try to find an antidote, if it came down to that.

Mei smiled happily when she saw Shuku pick up her bowl of stew. This was the way things should be, everyone sitting down to a nice meal, with nothing happening to disrupt them. She looked around again, hadn't there been one or two other people, though? She wondered if they would show up in time for dinner, or if somebody should go look for them. She was reluctant to do so herself, at the very least she wanted to finish her bowl of stew first. It was yummy! She took another bite, glad that she had stayed out here in the woods this last morning. Otherwise she might never have met any of these others, nor would she have ended up having such a tasty supper. She licked her lips as a small dollop of the stew's liquid dripped out of the corner of her mouth.

Carrying a variety of books for reading material, a few of them were lessons on how to use ninjutsu's. With no teachers to actually watch over his training, he was quite confident he would be able to teach himself. Having a high I.Q of one hundred forty three, learning such simple jutsu's shouldn't be to hard. Sitting gently on the ground under him, his backpack was tossed over his shoulder onto his lap. Setting knives, a hammer, two monkey wrenches, a case of sowing needles, photo album, two jars of home made smoke bombs, the tool pouch from his old teacher, and large poster of him standing triumphantly among the defeated Genin in the school yard. Stretching out the poster for a good look, thanking the local photographer just wasn't enough. He left a nice cow patty on his lawn earlier that day for a more proper thank you. Thinking to himself at how pissed he would be, Jackal fell on his back holding his chest giggling. Trying to hold in his deranged high pitched hyena laugh was a daily chore for him. Sitting up from his giggling, the book was flipped open. Untieing his canteen canister from his belt, water poured down his throat. Water dripping from the fur on his chin, his hand wiped across his mouth. "Let's get this show on the road." He said smiling screwing the cap back on his bottle. Studying the book thoroughly mumbling a few words here and there to himself. Starting to get the gist of what it was telling him about tree climbing and such, best he go for the more complex things first. Usually he read these books over a few times before any course of action was taken. Tossing the opened book over to his side, dust and dirt fluttered on the ground when it landed. Glancing over to a tree on his far right, his foot was placed on the base of the tree. Yanking a piece of beef jerky from his belt, it was crudely placed in his mouth where he chewed savagely. Very small bits and pieces fell to the ground as he chewed.
Dropping his back backwards, another foot was placed on the tree. Barely keeping himself steady, both hands fell to the ground to balance himself out. Knowing that he could fall any second now, both feet climbed up the tree flipping back to the ground. Twisting his body over to the side, his back faced the tree. Seeing as how he was obviously missing some thing from the book, it was picked up folding it to the back. Scanning each and every word, he tried again reading the book as he went. Actually making a few steps up the tree his chakra started loosing focus. "Uh oh." He said clumsily. Pulling himself up, both hands gripped the tree. Claws digging into the rout itself, clinging on with ease. Often in his past has he climbed tree's and other various obstacles using his claws on his hands and feet. Attempting to focus once more, his feet were placed on the tree again standing himself up. Arms spread out wide, a few steps were taken. Figuring out that the whole lesson was simple in it's own ways, Jackal started walking around the tree with great balance. Reading the final last details of the lesson in his book, it was dropped to the ground landing in a side ways angle. Pushing off the tree, feet landed in side ways angles. Both hands touched the ground bridging himself. He would need to figure out a better landing method when getting off such objects.

In contrary to Honehime's slow pace, Sakazuki's style of eating was much more... Ill- mannered. She ate vigorously and furiously, the act of drinking and testing multiple freshly boiled potions over the past many years had allowed her tongue to grow accustomed to taking in such high- temperatured cuisine. And, after several cupfuls later, she finally set her glass to the side as she leaned back. While she wasn't utterly full yet, one had to keep in mind that there were others eating, as well as the fact that some still were not present for dinner.

Perhaps someone should go looking for them?

===

Every several moments, Shuku would raise her gaze from her food, overlooking the group, as if expecting one of them to be staring at her or Mei. By this point, the woman was utterly convinced that whoever had walked in on them and taken the milk was somewhere sitting in front of her at this very moment, engorging themselves upon their dinner. No doubt, a mix of paranoia and fatigue was settling down upon the silver haired woman's mind... And that really was not anything along the lines of good. Quite the opposite actually.

Dante was a being that one could hardly call a human. Born from the vacuum of evil left from the death of the one known as Shiro Howard, the former Kage of hidden Alchemy, something that he really knows nothing about. Still though not a true human, Dante needed to train to become a ninja. That is what brought his being to the shinobi academy. This was the place he could go to to get to where he wanted to be. The only question was what was he going to learn? He made his way towards the academy gates for the first time. This was something that he had dreamed about, something that he was made for. Dante simply entered the gates and all eyes were on him. That was something that he was used to, even though it was something that he should not be used to. A ninja should not bring attention to himself but the thing about it was the it was unavoidable for Dante. It was in his nature, in his blood. Dante was simply used to it at this point. In the beginning it made him awkward. After that it simply perturbed him. Now, it just did not bother him anymore. With his hood up he continued through the academy grounds. He walked into the main building, going to his first class. This was going to be interesting for Dante. He knew that he had a way with people. People were naturally weary of him and he was about to walk into a huge room full of people who were going to be in close contact with him. Dante was really interested in finding out just how people were going to react when their worst fears are so close to them for a long period of time.

Honehime blew on another spoonful of stew before slowly slipping it into her mouth. As she chewed at the meat, she looked up from her bowl, only to see Sakazuki diving into her meal with gusto, as was Mei. She smiled slightly at the two's zeal, it was hard to be suspicious of a meal when others were eating it with that much enthusiasm. As unlikely as it seemed, perhaps her gift was working improperly, and there was nothing to worry about after all? Maybe. She hadn't shaken the feeling of impending misfortune, but perhaps the feeling was just so vague because it's source was so far away? Whether by distance or time, she couldn't say.

Lieselotte had been eating her stew slowly and methodically, after waiting those few moments while the others tested it for her. Even so, it didn't take her very long to finish her bowl of food. Setting it down, she debated having a second bowl, but she wasn't sure if she was hungry enough to do so. So instead, she got to her feet, before dusting her hands off. The others still had not returned, she was beginning to wonder if something had happened to them. "I am going to go search for ze ozzers, see what is taking zem so long." With that, she stalked off into the forest, moving in a simple search pattern.

Mei had already finished her first bowl of the yummy stew, and had gone back for seconds. Sitting down once more, she glanced up and happened to meet Shuku's worried gaze. She just smiled benignly at the Mayonaka, as if to silently tell her that there was nothing wrong, and she should just enjoy her yummy stew. Then she glanced up after another mouthful, only to see the gloomy looking girl say that she was going to go look for the others. Or 'ozzers', as she called them. She smiled at that, accents sounded funny! But she didn't say anything, instead she just threw an arm up and waved goodbye to the already vanished Akasun. Then she was returning to her supper, licking her lips as she spilled a little more out of the corner of her mouth.

"I'm sure 'ze ozzers' are fine, Liese..." The witch started, but sighed as she realized that whether or not the puppeteer heard her, she would still be continuing onwards. At this hour however, was doing such really so wise? Giving a sigh, the Circe rose to her feet, dusting herself off before she moved to follow. "...And I'll go make sure she doesn't do anything stupid," she mumbled, evidently cautious enough to know that it was dangerous for them to go alone. Even if this would be their second expedition into the forest that night, it was evidently one that couldn't be put aside.

"Hone-chan, look after the others please?"
====

While Shuku had soon gobbled down her own dinner and had satisfied her hunger, as she stared at Mei for several moments, she found a further loss of future appetite. "Eat nicely!" She scolded in a most motherly of tones as she used her sleeve to swab at whatever contents of the stew that had spilled out of the cowgirl's mouth. She only acknowledged the puppeteer's and the the witch's leaves with a mere bow of her head as she tended to the chimera then eventually sighed as she sat back.

Slowly then, her gaze moved to Honehime. "So you're in charge, hm?"

Honehime slowly looked up from her bowl when Sakazuki addressed her, asking her to keep an eye on the others. She nodded, not thinking that having to do so but technically make her the temporary leader, or at least chaperon of their little group. However, it seemed that Shuku did notice that fact, and mentioned it only a moment after Sakazuki began to walk away and follow Lieselotte. Was she in charge? Her face shifted to an expression of confusion and consternation, before finally she hesitantly nodded. "It does appear that way, is that alright?"

Lieselotte moved slightly deeper into the forest, moving almost silently, as years of practice had taught her to do. She knew that someone was following her, but it wasn't until she paused and looked back behind her that she saw that it was the Circe. She frowned slightly, not sure if she should expect the witch to help, or to have her declare open season on teasing her about her accent. For now, she would remain quiet, and at the very least, not give her any ammo to use against her. She started moving slower, giving Sakazuki time to catch up, and then she resumed looking for the others. At the very least, she was confident Kuroshika was still in the area.

Mei blinked in surprise when she felt Shuku dab at her cheek with the corner of her sleeve, but then she smiled benignly before laughing a little. "Hehe, thanks!" Then she returned to eating, only half listening to the conversation the others were saying. She heard enough to recognize the fact that Lieselotte and Sakazuki were leaving to look for the missing members of their group, and that one of the others, she thought it was the young girl in the red and white, was apparently in charge. She didn't care, she didn't have any desire to be in charge, and didn't expect that whoever was in charge would have anything to complain about with her. So it really didn't affect her, so she could ignore it.
