You could see the air of bubbly happy expectation -- but what for and why, was the important question here -- fizzle out of the male like a deflated dejected balloon at Kiba's off-hand answer. "No fun." Yamagawa's lower lip jutted out slightly into a vague pouty-gesture as the redhead ran a hand through his dampening hair, the red locks sticking and curling messily around the pale face.

He would have been genuinly surprised if he had heard that -- despite the fact, but maybe because he wasn't quite right in the head to 'normal' people -- one of the reasons that the assistants were so hurriedly running past him without even talking to him was because of his petit-ish girlish features. Most men would be mortally offended by it, but hey, there was no telling at all when it came down to how Yamagawa would react.. Knowing him, he might just like it.

Your temperature. Armand took that as another decline for any invitations that required Kiba-san to venture outside his burningboilinghot office, and sighed, green eyes crinkling slightly into a smile. One day, one day, he'll get his hands on some kind of stuff that would enable Kiba-san to come outside with him and do all the fun stuff that.. fun people do. And Kiba-san was fun, and Yamagawa was pretty sure that he was fun, so there.

His chain of thoughts snapped and broke off and pretty much disappeared off into the whirlpool inside his mind where all pointless -- and in general, all -- thoughts eventually ended up as he felt the slight form of Chou lean against him. A vague feeling of panic rose up his throat before he stuffed it back down again, laying a hand over a slender shoulder as the redhead leant down slightly, the unmistakable flash of concern hidden behind the green depths. "Chou?"

His gold eyes lit up as he saw the little vial he was looking for nestled in the bottom of the fishtank. Seriously, he didn't know why he had stuck it in there. But whatever, he found the stuff Yamagawa wanted and now the creepy leering scientist could go and...oh crap...

Frowning, he set the vial down, slithering over to the small, mini-fridge that held --among a lot of potion ingrediants and frozen rats-- ice. Kiba tended to forget that other people weren't like him and couldn't handle his environment, and those clothing that Chou-chan was wearing were just...well, horrible for this temperature. The one time Kiba had tried leather --one! Just once!-- he had thought he was going to die, and that had been in seventy degree weather. Chou-chan was probably going to die in that getup.

Wrapping the ice in a vaguely clean washcloth --it had a few unidentifiable stains, but it had been washed. Probably-- he moved back over to Yamagawa and Chou. "Ne, Chou-chan, here." He pressed the washcloth against the back of Chou's neck, hoping it would help.

Still trying and unable to get a full breath, Chou peered through his lashes at Kiba-san. "It's hot," he rasped, bringing one hand to sluggishly press the washcloth against his neck. He wanted to leave...just...leave. It was too hot and he didn't want to be here, but he couldn't say that because that would be mean since Kiba-san obviously liked this temperature but it was...god, it was hot...

It was not really Yamagawa's forte when it came down to the matter of actually worrying about someone, be it other humans or.. people. It wasn't that he was emotionless, because he did feel things, but.. it seemed so shallow, everything. His cheery smiles, half-joking hitting tryingtoflirt with Kiba-san, it all seemed slightly watered-down, as if none of that was real. It was more like.. one-dimensional. Nothing further than that, always leaving Yamagawa with a curious feeling that.. something was missing.

Whenever something happened that required him to express any kind of feelings other than the rather detached sort of happy fuzzy squee-ness, Yamagawa usually tended to freeze up slightly and let others do the fussing, because there were usually at least one wherever he went that seemed to him absolute expert in handling unstable people, and he usually made sure that there would be someone like it, just in case..

Just in case something very much like this happened.

He was panicking, and the redhead knew it. He also knew that he was freezing and pulling away again, because his fingertips felt cold and that's what usually happened. It seemed that even Kiba-san's hothothothot office didn't stop the coldfreezingcold fingers from happening. That's interesting, a part of Armand's brain that was still functioning whispered. I should get back to it sometime later. But now, all that mattered was Chou.

Chou wasn't feeling very good --obviously; leather wasn't meant to be worn in depths of hell-- and thankallthegods that Kiba-san had some ice, because he of course didn't have any, and it was ridiculous the way he was pulling back and away into his mind because.. Because he wanted to feel worried about Chou the way Kiba-san seemed to be. It was stupid..

The snake watched the faerie with unreadable eyes, his gaze flicking over to where Yamagawa was...retreating. Or something. Not physically, but there was a sudden absence where the redhead had been. And Chou-chan was dying so he should probably do something about that...so...dammit...

Grimacing, he went back by the fishtank, grabbed the little vial, and slid back across the floor to where the other two were standing. "Out," he ordered, shooing them towards the door with his hands. "Come on, both of you, out." He practically pushed them out of the nice, comfortable confines of his little office, shoving them into the hall, himself just a step behind.

Kiba shuddered the second he stepped out int the hall --god, he could feel his blood getting thicker!-- but forced himself not to flee back into his room. He was seriously in awe of garden snakes, and those snakes that lived in the higher parts of the world. How did they survive without all the loveliness heat offered? It was...it was cold out here! Resisting the urge to chatter his teeth --he had a tendancy to sink his fangs in his lip when he did that-- he wrapped his arms around his body. Did they turn the heat down out here? Surely it hadn't been this cold last time he'd left his office...

"Here," he said tersely, holding out the vial, the clear liquid swirling slightly. "The usual." He wanted Yamagawa to take it so he could go back to the nice warmth of his office before the use of his extremities became a difficulty. Sure, he liked Yamagawa well enough --compared to most of the others-- but they simply lived in two different temperate zones that were too far apart from one another, so socializing was a problem. Which was why he just wanted to be left alone with what he was god at, in his little, nice, hot office that no one else liked. That way, no one would have to suffer because their comfort zones were too far apart.

Chou let himself be swept back out into the hall without complaint, mostly because he was focusing on breathing and not getting light-headed, rather than talking. He didn't knw if he'd have any words to describe anything, anyway. Besides, Kiba-san had told him to go, so he went. He was just glad that he didn't have to stay in the hothothotness of Kiba-san's office. And he was glad that Yamagawa-sama had been ushered out too, even thugh it seemed like Yamagawa-sama was getting cold and...had he done something wrong again? He didn't want Yamagawa-sama getting far away because Yamagawa-sama was nice and liked Chou...

His hands were shaking softly, Yamagawa realised with a start. He had never gotten shaky hands before. He couldn't afford to; in surgery, precision came first and foremost and the only thing that mattered at the surgical table, even over the specimen's life. At least you'd be able to say that you had done exactly as it told you to, and it was no good. Kind of.. cold.. mentality, but it was true enough. It helped with all the pressure build up, after all. So it wasn't that bad, right?

The redhead took a shaky breath into his lungs and forced his hands to become still once more, though his fingers still felt cold where they rested lightly on Chou-chan's shoulder. He was glad that Kiba-san had taken control of the situation, because right now he was being really stupid and couldn't even trust himself to speak, even. The colder air helped to clear his head too, to some extent. At least it helped with the shaking. Yamagawa paused slightly, however, before reaching out to take the small vial, a very tiny part of his mind whispering softly that somehow, it won't really do to show the other two just how much he was affected by that little episode. Why? Why now?

He grinned --not as wide, nor as bright as before, and a tad bit shaky-- and slipped the vial into the pocket of his gown, patting the flap lightly once it was nestled securely within the pocket. "Waa, thank you, Kiba-san! I'll.. return the bottle later." Later, when he had some more coffee, hadn't slept a wink, and read through all the medical and psychocogy books he could get his hands on.

Those sharp gold eyes watched suspiciously as Yamagawa smiled, knowing there was something wrong with it and unable to tell completely what. There was definately something a little...off about this smile. Chou-chan probably wouldn't notice, but Chou-chan didn't know Yamagawa. After all, Chou-chan appeared to have immediately taken a liking to Yamagawa, a great indicator that Chou-chan knew next to nothing about the redhead.

Not that Kiba was going to say anything. That wasn't his idea of fun, popping other people's happy little bubbles. And, while he was freezing himself out here and he was sure his fingers were going numb, at least Chou-chan was looking better.

"Right," he said, nodding slightly, neck feeling stiff. "Later. And...Chou-chan, if you come visiting again, try to get something...lighter." That said, he turned, stepping back into his office, his form relaxing slightly even as he crossed the threshhold. "Good day, both of you," he added, shutting the door pretty much in their faces. The sound of the deadbolt falling into place could be heard from outside, showing that Kiba was going back to his little hobby.

Chou nodded at the suggestion, even though he didn't feel particularly inclined to go 'visiting' Kiba-san again. Had he been the only one to notice it had been hot in there? Like, burn your skin off, call the firefighters hot. Really really really hot.

At least the hallway was cooler and he was able to take a full breath. That was nice. Much nicer to be able to breathe right than to get light-headed because your breaths weren't big enough. No longer feeling like he was about to faint, he looked up at Yamagawa-sama, who still felt a little cold.

"Ne, Yamagawa-sama, what's the usual?" He wanted to distract Yamagawa-sama, make him not think about whatever Chou had done wrong and not be cold anymore. Chou liked warm, nice Yamagawa-sama who held his hand and made him not lost, not cold Yamagawa-sama who wasn't happy anymore.

It really said something that Chou thought everything was his fault.

The redhead grinned softly, raising a hand to give a cheery salute to the other as he inclined his head, green eyes curving into a smile behind the rimless glasses. "I'll make sure he does." His smile lasted until the other slipped back into the office and closed the door, the only sign of him having heard the thunk of the deadbolt a slightly sheepish furrowing of brows. Okay. His head seemed a bit better. Kind of less-ish clean colder organized sort of way, though it was still a long way off from his usual state of mind. He would need coffee. A lot of coffee. And some chocolate icecream. He always ended up feeling slightly parched whenever he came out after coming out of Kiba-san's office.

"..Whew.' He let out a short exhale of breath, the cat-like smile returning as he directed his gaze back to the half-fairie beside him. "Sorry about that.. Should have thought to tell you sooner." It was thrown lightly as if carefree banter, but in reality, his heartbeat rate increased slightly a fraction more than it should be, making the scientist reach out and pat the other's hair lightly. He should have told him. He should have.. "Aa, that's.." How should he explain? It was kind of complicated, he might need to think about the.. ah, wording of it.. Ah! Yamagawa raised a finger solemly, a half-serious look on his face as his eyes glinted down at Chou. "It's kind of like a scent, or perfume. It helps keep the baddies away."
PostPosted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 3:59 pm

Chou leaned absently into the touch on his head, watching Yamagawa-sama seem to go back to his happy-happy not-mad-at-Chou state. Which was good. Chou didn't like people mad at him. He liked pleasing people. Pleasing people was a good thing to do, because then they wouldn't...well, they wouldn't get mad at him. Simple as that, really.

"Baddies? But...I thought doctors were good guys." Ah, that adorable, simple naiietivity. So cute, in a naiive sort of way. One of these days, Chou was going to get himself killed because of that. Maybe not if he stayed here and clung to Yamagawa-sama like glue --because Chou liked Yamagawa-sama-- but if he ever went out on his own, he was going to fall into some sort of not-good trap because he was too innocent to know any better. It was cute, but it would definately get him into trouble.

Blinking slightly, he tugged a piece of hair into his mouth, nibbling on the ends. Chou liked perfumes, too. Hopefully, this one wouldn't be a yucky perfume that smelled icky, because the nice perfumes were the ones that smelled good. The other ones weren't so nice and pretty as the ones that smelled reallyreallyreally good. Fruit ones were nice, too. And...and flowery ones. Moving the icepack --he had forgotten he had it-- from his neck when it began dribbling water down his back, he just sort of held it, unsure of what to do with it. It was Kiba-san's, but Kiba-san had locked his door again, and besides, Chou wasn't really fond of the idea of going back into that ickyhot room.

((just reposting))
His head remained tilted down as he thought.Perhaps that wouldn't be such a bad thing. He wouldn't mind be out again, but he would be extremely vulnerable out in the lab as an experiment with no sight.Which had him come to think why this creature was willing to help him,and if he really was what he said he was."I wouldn't mind," he replied,"But why would you want to help me?Is there something you want in return?'

He whimpered slightly under his breath as the other pulled away from him and shook his head as the other looked into his eyes, his tone serious. This was obviously important, he had to concentrate on what the other was saying.

His eys flickered as he listened to what the other had to say, his muscles trembling under the others hands but he nodded, licking his lips slightly.

"I understand Ryuu," he said softly. "I'll do what ever you sa-"

His words were cut off as the other touched him and he closed his eyes, his teeth pinning into his lip. He took a deep breath and nodded. "I'll do whatever you say,"

“Alexial.” Looking deep into his kitten’s eyes, his hands went down to touch those long slender legs slowly as his eyes seem to consume the neko right then and there. “Don’t ever go out of my sight. You don’t belong anywhere but by my side. Understand? Alexial?” He murmured as his hand slid up again but ‘accidentally’ touched something he wasn’t suppose to.

Agapito paused in his padding and stopped, turning his head slightly to look over his slender shoulder. He'd stopped due to the lack of footsteps following him and that either meant that Amato had stopped or somehow got lost.

His bright yellow eyes falling to the crouch form on the floor, he moved over to his brother and crouched down next to him, their eyes looking at the same point, a small plant trying to grow in through the wall. There was a tiny little white flower on the end of one of the tendrils, the only peice of nature that they had seen in.....He wasn't sure how long, but it felt like a very long time.

Amato looked to him, his eyes pleading, begging him to save the plant, to let it flourish and live and bring light and warmth and happiness into the hell hole of a place.

"We can't let it live," he said softly to his twin, picking the flower off of the tendril and tucking it behind the others ear, lacing it slightly in his soft hair. "They'll only take it and pervert it into something horrible, you know what don't you?"

He nodded gently, his steely eyes sad as he looked to the other.

"I'm sad too," he muttered, brushing the others cheek and leaning to plant a kiss on the smooth skin. "But we're doing what's best," and he passed his hand over the plant and it wilted, becoming dry and brittle.

The stood and Agapito placed his hand on Amato's shoudler at the sight of tears welling in the others eyes. That's how they felt. They felt like that plant, like they could grow and bring life and light to the dark, but if they did, they'd be perverted further, so it was best to pretend that they couldn't.

"It's alright," he whispered, pulling the other close to him, his arms wrapping tightly around the slender and slightly sagging frame. "I know,"

Sinking to the floor with the other in his arms, he comforted him quietly. With any luck, this corridor would stay as it had been so far.

Deserted.

Yamagawa laughed --softly and not quite as loud as he may have wanted it to be, since they were still out in the corridors with god knows who around and he couldn't really bring himself to laugh until they were back at his own room-- and reached up to rub the back of his head slightly, an uneasy little sweatdrop appearing as he quickly ran over some non-discriminating and PG-rated and hopefully innocent answer to Chou-chan's question. Which pretty much left out just about everything. Slender fingers lazily ran through the red hair, messing it up further as he blinked, for once lost in thought. What to do, what to do...

"Yeees, but.." He snapped his fingers slightly, looking all of a sudden very much like a cat with a saucer of milk. Or a dog with a meaty bone. Or.. Something that looked very satisfied, at any rate. "But sometimes, they can be.. irritable. This helps them to not be irritated." By saving me the trouble of chasing them off with very sharp objects. Yamagawa silently added inside his head.

Chou was silent for a while, and appeared to be thinking over the answer. Then he nodded, seeming to accept it. "Saa, that's makes sense. Are doctors irritable often?" Irritable was like...annoyed, right? So it perfumy stuff made the doctors not annoyed. How a perfume could do that, he wasn't sure, but Yamagawa-sama had said it was so, and Chou had a tendancy to take people at their words. Especially Yamagawa-sama, since he liked the doctor and the doctor liked him.

Boredly, Chou tugged on a lock of hair, sending a thin spray of glitter into the air. The previous glitter he'd shed had disappeared, so he had to assume that someone had cleaned it up. Now there was new glitter for someone else to clean up...

He tugged on Yamagawa-sama's sleeve again. "Ne, now what?" That was Chou's eternal question. If they finished doing one thing, he'd ask what the next thing was. Chou didn't do well when there was nothing happening. He moved a lot, and had a lot of nervous energy, so sitting still and not doing anything was really hard for him to accomplish unless he was specifically told to do such.

Are doctors irritable often? The redhead pushed down yet another bout of bubbly laughter -- seriously, this was priceless; it was like he drank soda, except that it was laughter, not gas -- and absently waved away the glitter that was starting to hover around him. "Yes, mostly." And resort to other perverted ways to relieve the stress, he added, but not for Chou-chan to hear. He couldn't help feeling that he was somehow digging himself into a hole -- he himself was (kind of) a doctor, after all -- and Yamagawa wasn't quite sure if he wanted to discuss the vial of "perfume" -- more like repellent, but it was the same thing -- so out in the public.

"Ano.. Do you want to have a look around the facility, or..." Yamagawa trailed off, as he looked down at the mass of pink and glitter and leather. Chou-chan had been much uncomfortable in Kiba-san's office.. Of course, pretty much everyone was uncomfortable in Kiba-san's office, but Yamagawa didn't care because it was Kiba-san's office and it was awesome. But anyways.. That leather getup would be a little too.. Conspicuous? Hot? Provocative? The voices in his head clamoured for attention, making the redhead frown so very slightly.

...Well, that summed it up. "--or we could get you something more comfy to wear."
