Razz chuckled. "You certainly don't sound like you hate his guts. And I'd bet that he doesn't like the fighting. Did you ever hear that boys pick on girls they like?"
Chloe smiled up at him and reached up, touching one of the feathers on his mask. "I wish they'd told me what you'd be dressed as."
Kaya shook her head slightly. "The chameleon prefers the temperatures of the desert."

Yumi looked to the boy and nodded some, twiddling her thumbs again. "Yeah. My dad told me that when I was little. I didn't believe him then. I guess I've jsut been in denial..."
Lute chuckled some and nodded. "It wouldn't have helped me if they had told me what you were. But I can see you're gorgeous as a lark. And you sing like one too."
Luke nodded some, understanding. "I see. Thank you for that fact." he said, smiling a little.

Razz smirked just slightly, but hid it and looked out to the dance floor. "Would you like to dance again? That is, if you're looking for an escape from this investigative torture."
Chloe blushed and looked down. "I think you're just getting used to your eyes," she said quietly.
Kaya tilted her head. "You're awfully quiet for someone who doesn't look like the quiet sort."

Yumi sighed and nodded some. "A dance sounds good about now."
Lute laughed some, tilting her chin back up and kissing her sweetly. "I've known you were beautiful for some time now. Before this ball or my sight." he said, smiling softly.
Luke blushed some, glancing away a tad, but still focusing on keeping the dance. "I... I don't talk a lot outside teaching. Not many to talk to." he mumbled embarrassedly. Why was he feeling this way? He couldn't figure this out and it was driving him NUTS!

Razz stood and took Yumi's hand, leading her to the dancefloor. He wanted to tell her who he was, but at the same time he didn't. So instead, he used the loud music as a reason to not speak.
Chloe blushed some more, hugging Lute. "And I knew your eyes would complete you," she responded, tracing a line down his face starting at the corner of his eye.
Kaya wanted to chuckle at his strange behavior, but decided against it. "You are a teacher here? That's rather convenient. I haven't met any of the other teachers here yet: I applied for the job right before break began for the students."

Yumi just danced with the wolf, wondering if she should tell Razz about her feelings. Maybe she did have feelings for him...
Lute smiled and kissed her hand before gently leading her inside. They were getting covered in snow.
Luke nodded some at her question. He then listened to her. Just applied? "Are you the new magical creatures teacher? I saw a form for someone applying for that. And we're in desperate need of one." he said, smiling a little.
[OOC:] I hijacked just that part. Is that ok?

[OOC:] Totally; I had no idea what I was gonna do with her sweatdrop Razz was concentrating on the dance, mostly because the silence was a little uncomfortable for him. He'd meant to tease her about everything, not to actually make her think.
Chloe looked around the ballroom and pulled her mask down again. She caught sight of Yumi dancing with someone, and she wondered if they'd both be finding their prince charming that night.
Kaya nodded. "That I am. It sounded like an interesting job. I've heard good things about this school."

Yumi soon stopped dancing, apologizing to the wolf. She needed some time alone to think. She left the dance floor, heading out of the ballroom.
Lunora had spied her daughter leaving and she relayed that to her husband. "I'll go talk to her. You talk to whoever she was dancing with." With that, the fox followed her daughter, wondering what was wrong.
Lute pulled his mask down as well and led Chloe onto the dance floor once more. He then began to dance with his love, again keeping in perfect time with the music and his partner.
Luke nodded some. As from one teacher to another, I'm glad to have you on our staff. I assume you'll get a more formal greeting after the holidays."

Razz watched sadly as Yumi left, before Demetri grabbed the back of his shirt collar, dragging him to the now deserted balcony. Demetri sealed the doorway and flicked Razz in the forehead. "What did you do?"
Kaya smiled a little. "Well, thank you. I find this dance with all the costumes to be an amusing enough welcome," she said with a laugh.

Lunora talked with her daughter and let the girl cry in her arms. She seemed so confused by her feelings and about Razz. Lunora had no choice but to send her daughter to bed. She must have been very tired, or very upset.
Luke rolled his eyes. "Glad you're amused. I'm not one for social functions."

Razz reluctantly told Demetri everything about the evening, aside from what he'd actually been thinking, before the wizard released him again. Demetri appeared at Lunora's side after their daughter went to bed and he shook his head. "What are we going to do about them?"
"Oh really? You certainly seem to blend in," she said jokingly in response.
