Venerax jogged behind Booky, the small owl giving a hoot whenever it saw anything that Venerax needed to avoid. The distance was being eaten up in no time. It wasn't until they had cleared the thickest part of the woods that he stopped to catch his breath. He tried to keep it even, he had been learning a lot about his body lost out here, more than he had anytime on the trains or in the cities. Booky perched on his shoulder taking the time to rest his wings.

They stood atop a high hill over looking the darkened landscape beneath them. The hopeful beam from the lighthouse creating a silhouette of what lay between them and it. The woods mostly tapered away to rolling hills that became rougher the closer to the lighthouse it became. Much like it had been when he started trekking around Mount Moon.

"Hoot hoot," Booky quirked its head aside wondering if his trainer could navigate these hills with better skill this time, thinking back to when he had first encountered him.

*****

Venerax continued to walk to deep in thought. I just understand why it didn't work. I mean if Calculus fully uploaded the HM it should work shouldn't it. I've got to be missing something, but wha...

"PORY!" Calculus cried in warning, but too late.

Venerax snapped out of his reverie just in time to feel last step land on nothing but air. It was most surreal feeling for him to go tumbling down the rocky hill. Almost like a dream, he new he was falling and by now probably hurt really bad, but he felt outside of the whole situation. ALmost as if you were looking through a window. . .THUNK! That is until the tree at the bottom stopped his tumbling.

"Hoot! Hoot! Hoot! Hoot! Hoot!" Venerax opened his eyes, the whole world was spinning, and a number of small one legged owls had decided to fly around and around and around with, always . . . "Hoot! Hoot! Hoot! Hoot!" hoot hoot hooting. I must've hit my head hard I'm hallucinating. Slowly the world stopped spinning, but the owl wouldn't go away, though now at least their was only one of them. It just kept flying around his head. . ."Hoot! Hoot! Hooooot!" and then it ran into his head. That's either one heck of a hallucination or it's real. "Cal, where are you?"

Meanwhile, Cal carefully scurted down the slope towards Venerax, where a rather annoyed Hoothoot flew around his head, after falling from the tree Venerax unfortunately tumbled right into. Cal leaped and tackled the Hoothoot away from Venerax. The Hoothoot hit the ground, and got up in a huff, ruffling it's feathers. Hoothoot's eyes dilated as it used Foresight. Cal stood in front of Venerax, and loosed a brilliant flash. The Hoothoot saw nothing, but stars in it's eyes as it tried to tackle the blue porygon, only to hit the tree instead. From the side, Cal tackled the Hoothoot again, who landed sprawled out on the ground, very dazed. Cal turned to Venerax and nudged him.

Still rubbing his head from the new concsious the HOothoot gave him, he pulled out a pokeball from his waste, and threw it at the Hoothoot. The Hoothoot disappeared in a flash of white light. The pokeball only shook twice before locking with a click. Venerax smiled, and looked to Cal. "What would I do without you around?"

Cal shrugged.

Venerax shrugged as well. "But now I think I'm tired again, and this tree makes a perfect back rest, so I think I'll just stay right here for now."

Cal just shook his head.

*****

"What are you thinking about?" Venerax's voice broke the pokemon's train of thought, his eyebrow raised quizzactly at the self hypnotized owl on his shoulder. His shoulder was getting numb from Booky's rhymic switching of feet, which reminded him of the loopy trainer that ambushed him outside the museum in Pewter. He smirked, too bad his pokenav was long over due for a charge or he'd give her a call. Probably would have saved him several days of being lost no less . . . "OW!"

Booky pecked Venerax firmly on the head, breaking the trainers own trance like wandering. . .and saving everyone from a second flashback for at least a little while. "Hoot!"

"Sorry," Venerax murmured rubbing his head. "Alright lets keep moving."

He rolled his shoulder as began flying in the direction of the lighthouse again, trying to get some feeling back into it before following.

Using the wall for support, Kasiya carefully pulled herself up to a standing position, ignoring the throbbing pain in her head as well as the searing pain from her still-healing shoulder. As much as it hurt, it was somehow soothing to see her two four-legged Pokemon in action. Seto's previous attack had shocked the Lickitung enough to force the pink blob off of it, and it growled and clapped its hands together angrily, long pink tongue waving around the air menacingly. The Ariados had backed off as well once it had gotten a taste of Casimir's sharp claws, and now both the Absol and Persian were standing between the three enemy Pokemon and their trainer, neither willing to let the others get close at all. The guards, standing three wide near the top of the last set of stairs, had backed off as well now that they'd realized they had underestimated the girl a bit, but they had no intentions of giving up the fight as of yet, and each of them set their Pokemon on the attack again.

"Growlithe, give 'em a Bite attack!"

"Ariados, use your Night Shade!"

"Use Disable, Lickitung!"

Almost instantly all three Pokemon complied, rushing in on their targets. The Lickitung cast a daunting glare at Seto, and suddenly it was like he'd never known Thunderbolt to begin with. While the feline was trying to remember what it was that he'd forgotten, the Growlithe was able to land its attack, and Seto hissed when he felt the sharp fangs sink into his shoulder. The Ariados reared up on its hind legs and batted the air, a dark, sinister energy forming quickly and streaking out to engulf Casimir, though the Absol showed no signs that the attack had hurt him. "Now it's our turn," Kasiya grumbled, rubbing her head gingerly. "Faint Attack, Seto! Knock out that pup for good. And Casimir, give that overgrown spider an Aerial Ace!" She really hated it when people fought unfairly, and even though she probably could have sent out Hiro to roast them all, she decided that she wasn't going to be a rule-breaker too (even though she was vaguely aware of the fact that she was the one in trouble here).

Seto let out another angry hiss and jumped at the Growlithe, though the Persian suddenly vanished from sight. A split-second later he reappeared behind the startled puppy and lashed out with his sharp claws. The Growlithe yelped and whimpered from the attack and promptly crumpled to the ground, unable to continue fighting. Casimir, meanwhile threw back his head and let out an eerie cry, his crescent-shaped horn glowing bright white before he swung it forward, a blade of pure, bright white energy streaking out to slam into the Ariados. The spider shrieked in pain from the super-effective hit, though it wasn't ready to quit yet.

Before long Jaeshan had discovered both the PokeMart and the Pokemon Center, as well as a route that led west of the civilized part of the island to something called Granite Cave. Now he really wasn't in that much of a hurry to rush off to the gym right away, but he also didn't want to go off exploring already. For now, he was just content wandering around to get a better feel of the area. For the most part, the citizens of the island were friendly and polite, and Jaeshan quickly learned that there was a beach here as well, though it was more known for surfing than anything else. Jaeshan had tried surfing a few times, and oddly enough he was actually pretty good at it - he had a natural ability to keep his balance and he could read the waves pretty well, though he rarely got a chance to practice. Maybe later, he thought idly, scratching his chin.

He continued to walk along, heading back into the heart of the small town, now making his way towards the gym. While he was still itching to get there and earn his next badge, he still wanted to do some training, though he wanted to scope out the gym first. It wasn't hard to find, though once he'd found it Jaeshan found it hard to walk away. He'd turned in the other direction, but shortly after changed his mind and trekked back, opening the front door and stepping inside. We're ready now, no sense putting it off.

It was far darker inside than Jaeshan thought it would be, and though he kind of figured that it would be useless he groped around on the walls by the door for a light switch or something. Naturally there wasn't anything of the sort and Jaeshan sighed a bit, fumbling for a Pokeball. The flash of light given off by Butterfree's release briefly illuminated the area, and Jaeshan quickly realized that this first small room branched off into a narrow-ish corridor, though it was pitch-black again in an instant. "This won't do at all," Jaeshan murmured, even unable to see the butterfly hovering just a foot or so away. He sighed and closed his eyes, covering them with a hand just to be on the safe side. "Butterfree, would you please use Flash to shed some light on things?" Though unseen, the butterfly nodded and began to concentrate. The powder on her wings began to shimmer, and with a bit of a grunt she flapped them both as hard as she could. Just like that the area was lit up as though the sun was shining down on them. Jaeshan grinned. "Thanks, Butterfree." The butterfly chittered happily and floated alongside her trainer.

"Hey!" came an angered, female voice from around the corner, and suddenly Jaeshan found himself staring at a tall, well-toned young woman with long, dark hair that was kept back in a braid. She was wearing shorts and a tank top and looked as though she'd been busy working out. "You can't come in here and do that, it's cheating!"

"Cheating?" Jaeshan replied, a bit surprised by her reaction. "Using Flash to light up dark areas is how you're supposed to use... Flash," he stated somewhat awkwardly, realizing the redundancy of the statement only after he'd said it.

"You're not supposed to be able to use Flash until after you have Brawly's badge," the girl said accusingly. "So you must be a cheater!" She detached a Pokeball from her belt and held it up. "I won't allow a cheater like you to trespass in our gym!"

Oh here we go, Jaeshan thought, rolling his eyes as a Meditite was released. "You know, badges from other regions allow HM moves to be used too," he grumbled, nodding to Butterfree. "But I guess we've got no choice..."

At least now she had a smile on her face as she watched the ferry cut through the water. She wanted to do more for George, but Serenity just didn't have the energy to celebrate right now. It was something she would remedy when she got home. George for his part seemed excited enough for the both of them. He was still bouncing on the deck next to her. She felt him lean in and hug her leg. It felt weird, like something cold had just licked her, but at the same time it was comforting. She could tell that he was going to like the fact that he could hug now.

Sere took a look around too see if anyone had noticed the evolution. She saw Riza and the red headed boy...Keegan standing a bit away. The poor boy didn't look much better than she felt. Sere gave the two of them a small wave, then turned back to look at the water. At least there were familiar faces on the boat. It was something she wouldn't have thought comforting a few days before. 'I wonder what they are going to Lilycove for? Are they going to go to Sinnoh too?' She pondered the question for a moment, even considering going and asking, but thought better of it. 'It is really none of my business what those two are doing.' She figured she had, had enough interaction to last a while. If they wanted to be social, then they would come talk to her.

Touya let out an aggrivated growl as he could feel his mucles tensing up. "Tooouya!" Liza cried, "Where's are you going off to in such a hurry?" The frown on his face only increased in size. The twins, though loved by the island's inhabitants, always seemed to be a pester to the man. "Kanto," he replied in a huff, "I'd also appreicate if you stopped using your Pokemon's Psychic on me."

And soon enough the Lunatone's eyes turned back to thier normal shade, the barely visible aura surrounding Touya disappearing completely. The Pokemon also seemed to have appeared out of no where, most likely from the sky above the trio's heads, though one head being much, much taller than the other two.

"Ohh, that's perfect!" the Tate pitched in. "After that disaster at Slateport yesterday there won't be many people. Mind making a delivery for us?"

"Not that I have a choice," Touya grumbled before sticking his hand out for whatever package that the twins were undoubtly going to hand over.

"Good!" the duo cheered placing a package into Touya's hands. It was a small box. "Off you go!" Liza commanded before turning to leave with her brother.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 13, 2009 9:41 pm

The man shook his head as the twins took thier leave. Sometimes they could just be plain annoying. He would rather battle them than chat it up with them anyday. At least they were serious when they battles, long ago losing that sibling rivalry they had had in thier double battle Gym matches.

Touya's match with thier infamous Lunatone and Solrock had been a tough one. Even Sceptile and Armaldo had a hard time over coming the second toughest gym in the Hoenn region. And that was just thier gym Pokemon who ha to be in regulation to certain levels and strengths of the league.

A sigh. "Might as well, Slateport better not be in some huge wreck still when I get there," he muttered. The actual Rocket attack on Slateport didn't really phase him too much. Sure his sister had been there as well as her friends. But then again, they didn't quite have that strong sibling relationship, not even a playful "family hate." He wasn't too moved by the event as he had full confidence that the purple headed girl had survived. Tate and Liza would not have been so relaxed otherwise.

He held the small package in one hand, releasing a Pokemon from an Ultra Ball in the other. "Dragonite, Slateport," was his simple command upon releasing his massive Dragonite. Somehow, with those tiny wings the Dragon Pokemon took flight, managing to pick up an impressive speed as he began to head eastwards to the port city.

"She's sooo --" Blanca stopped, realizing her voice was starting to rise with girlish pleasure. Right, she was a business woman right now! "Your Bulbasaur's a major cutie," she said in a serious tone, a little flash of a smile playing on her plush lips. Business-like enough, we suppose.

She sighed with resignation, however, as she saw all the seeds find their target and latch onto her sleeping Pokemon. Just like that, the Linoone's near-full energy was being sapped away once more. Oh well, she knew better to interrupt her baby's beauty sleep. Besides, she usually woke up after two or three turns anyways; hope she could stay conscious intact until then!

Shopping always makes one feel better, and so Jun had set off to the cute little boutiques of Hearthome; they didn't have much of the big, luxury Versace-esque brands (not that he'd been making money to afford that stuff lately anyways), but they did have independent designers that he deemed "inexpensive." That term in itself is rather subjective; Jun's definition of the word was far from what we may consider frugality. But I digress.

So Jun was walking with his two steady ladies, Leeron and Rosaline, when he suddenly came to a revelation while staring at a beautiful pair of Ksubi jeans. "You know, ladies, just by changing my last name, I feel like I've reinvented myself," he said, lovingly caressing the wonderful denim. "I've no background, no baggage, and everything up to the sky to reach! The possibilities are endless," the man sighed, stopping his hand at the knee of the jean. This pair would look lovely deconstructed. He'd have to buy them and do it himself. "I don't need some Aidan and Alice to obligate me to whatever. Honestly, they're bad for my image too, really." Leeron nodded hesitantly.

"Jun Fierce. Now that's advertisable. No more guest-designing under pseudonyms!" The Jynx nodded again at the check out line, unable to really respond to Jun's monologue due to vocal constraints. His Roselia, meanwhile, was more or less distracted by the image of herself in the mirrors she passed by. Oh, she was lovely, there was no doubt about it.

"You know, you two ought to do some recreation yourself. Feels amazing, better than spa Tuesdays. I mean, Leeron, I gave you that name... what, six years ago? Based on a TV show character? You're /so/ sweet and demure, you don't even have anything in common with that obstentanious Leeron fellow. You seem much more like a... a... Eva? No, that Eva Longoria's a b***h. Petra, there's about a thousand beautiful supdermodel Petras, but I'm not exactly a fan of the name. What about... Vera? Like Vera Wang? Or Demi?"

The Jynx made a point of thinking about it, before nodding enthusiastically with a hum-like guttural sound. "Demi it is!"

"And Rosaline... Romeo and Juliet? How trite." The flower looked offended. "Such a beautiful breath of fresh air as yourself, and you're so ferosh, now that's a flattering pose if I ever saw one... Oh! Posh Spice. Beckham. Posh, lovely, no?" The flower, an avid fan of the beautiful Victoria Beckham, nodded immediately. The three were quite satisfied with themselves before Jun whipped up his magic plastic card before the register.

"I'm sorry, sir, but this has been... denied," the cashier said stiffly, looking at the man. No compassion whatsoever for the breaking heart on the other hand, holding those pair of jeans like they were a limb.

"But, that's impossible."

"It is what it is. I'm sorry, but if you're not buying anything -- next in line, please."

It was about that time that Alice found Jun, and naturally the man was rather peeved to see the whore. What did the man-robber want of him? First she steals his boy-toy, then comes whining back to him when he gets stolen and ra -- Wait. "Waaaait. What?"

When the fox came out of its Pokeball Riza let out an impressed 'ooh' and moved towards it. "Uh, will he let me pet him?" she asked Keegan, not wanting to get herself set on fire. She'd seen Keegan evolve him from a vulpix yesterday and the sight of it had been amazing. All around her Pokemon seemed to be evolving, and as much as she was happy with her own Pokemon she couldn't help but wonder if they would evolve someday too. Ralts was still watching the blue marshtomp though she'd turn to look over at the ninetales as well, her eyes getting a little wide at the sight of the magnificent fox.

Keegans words weren't lost on her though, and Riza knew that he was right. They had a tough new Pokemon on their side and she should worry about helping it as well as her other two to get stronger. 'Ralts' strong point really doesn't seem to be battles,' she thought, absently patting the little Pokemon's head. 'But I bet her swift and confusion attacks would make for some really nice looking appeals. Maybe we should work on those for a bit while we're traveling.' Riza smiled and set Ralts on the ground. "It's time to practice our appeals," she told the Pokemon. "You're just so cute I bet you'd score a lot of points just for that." Ralts giggled a little at her trainer's comment, feeling a bit better for it. "Okay, start off by aiming a swift attack straight up into the air," she told the Pokemon. "Let's see what kind of distance you have."

Ralts nodded and closed her eyes, a slight golden hue covering her small body. She did a bit of a twirl and pointed up into the air, a spiral of golden stars twisting and twirling up overhead. The attack itself was quite pretty, but Riza knew that it would have to be more than just pretty to impress the judges. "Hmm, not bad," Riza nodded, tapping her chin with a slender finger. "Okay, try it again, but try to spread the stars out a bit. You've got good reach with them, now let's work on control." Ralts nodded and clapped her hands excitedly before attempting it again. The spiral of stars was a bit wider this time, though it didn't extend out nearly as far as Riza hoped it would. 'No worries, we've just go to keep practicing,' she thought, more determined than ever. 'We'll be winning ribbons soon'

Walking though the streets of Cerulean once more with her shoulders sunken and her head held down low Robin made her way to the pokemon center, again. At her side the ever faithful, if somewhat doubting right now Luffy trotted hoping that she would cheer up soon. Robin didn't even notice the looks that she and Luffy were getting from everyone, or rather Luffy was getting. He was probably the first and only Sinnoh pokemon in this area, heck maybe all of Kanto, and people were noticing that.

Walking through the sliding glass doors of the center she went up to the counter barely noticing that Nurse Joy was back. "Can I have my pokemon healed? I dunno how he got hurt but for some reason he did."

At her side Luffy looked up worriedly as they stopped at the counter in the healing building. She didn't seem as happy or confident in herself anymore, she was never really all that confident in herself but this was the worst that he had ever seen it. When she mentioned that he was hurt he frowned slightly before groaning, he hadn't noticed that it hurt until she said something that reminded him. Maybe growing an extra tail made you forget that you were really hurt? Either way he was glad that they were here, if she was getting him healed it seemed that all was not lost, she wasn't completely giving up. Hoping up onto the counter using his a hand to pull himself up he looked up at the pink haired woman and smiled brightly.

"Of course you can get your pokemon healed up Robin. Oh! Is this the same pokemon you had a contest with? He looks so different now!" Nurse Joy explained as she looked down in surprise at the beaming Ambipom.

Lifting her head up just a bit she looked at Nurse Joy and then back to Luffy. "Oh yeah you were a judge at the contest. Yeah Luffy just evolved." She didn't sound as excited as a trainer should be when their pokemon just evolved. Nurse Joy and Luffy shared a somewhat worried look with each other before looking back at the girl. "Anyway I am going to take a nap while Luffy gets healed." She muttered before she shuffled off to one of the couches and practically collapsed onto it.

Alice was frantic, she found Jun but still didn't know what they could do. "Yes! Some man scooped him onto his bike and basically molested him before he drove off." She blushed a little, "I thought since you are his lover you should know and think of a way to help. I did try but I was stopped." She pulled out the egg in her bag. "I got a great gift and an awful time."

Alice was describing the man who had kidnapped Aidan and Aidan's poor face as they drove off. "I have no idea which direction they went, they could be in Jubilief or Eterna city for all I know!"

Kadaj looked up at them with a sad face, he would love to help but he is anything far from a blood hound.

Alice tried to use her book smarts for something useful, "Well... we can ask around about that guy. A lot of people saw what had happened, maybe some know him?" Alice was ready to do almost anything to help out a friend.

Keegan looked out over the water and sighed, thinking about how the boat seemed to be taking its sweet-a** time getting to Lilycove. On the horizon he thought he could see what appeared to be Pacifidlog coming into view, though the fact that the small city itself was practically floating on the waves didn't make it seem like a viable option to rest poor seasick self. Keegan had nodded at Riza's question, knowing that Helios was far too fond of getting attention from girls, even more so pretty ones, though she ran off before waiting for an answer and the Ninetales let out a disappointed little growl, three of his nine tails flicking in annoyance. "Relax," Keegan chuckled, running his hand over the fox's soft fur. Helios snorted, still somewhat annoyed, but was quick to turn his attention towards the raven-haired girl and her Pokemon as they seemed to be practicing something. Keegan watched them as well, wearing a bit of a crooked smile as he had a short drag of his cigarette. "Appeals, eh? I guess Riza's in training to be a Coordinator." He closed his eyes and sighed. The whole Contests thing never really appealed to him as it was all too flashy. He preferred conventional battles any day.
=====
Lily preened at Blanca's comment, obviously lacking in the modesty department and she did a little bit of a dance on the spot. "That she is," was all Miharu said in reply, chuckling a little bit at her little diva's antics. Lily had been like this as long as she could remember and she always wondered if the Bulbasaur would ever change upon evolving, if the event ever were to transpire. She imagined Lily happily showing off her budding flower to everyone as an Ivysaur, and using it to her full advantage once it blossomed fully and she became a Venusaur. Then again, unless the little showoff ever did evolve, Miharu would never really know for sure.

Focusing her thoughts back to the battle, Miharu wasn't really sure what to do next. She knew she had a free round or two to do whatever she pleased - she could attack outright and stick to the offensive, or she could continue to have Lily use her self-boosting abilities. All in all she had a good idea of what to do in the next few rounds, and she sighed, snapping her fingers. "Okay Lily, go ahead and use Growth. When we hit 'em, we're gonna hit 'em hard." Once again the happy little Bulbasaur did a little bit of a dance, her entire body shimmering with a healthy, green glow, and once it had faded, Lily found herself to be feeling readier than ever.

Jomei watched in awe as the ground below him retreated. He had never ridden on a flying Pokemon before, and he couldn't help thinking how amazing it was, wearing a silly grin like a child in a candy store. Not wanting to look 'uncool' again, he brought his hand up to his face and pretended to cough, trying to wipe the smile away. He marveled at the tall buildings of the city. Goldenrod sure was a pretty place, he had always loved coming here with his mom and sister. The ride was soon over, since they had not been to far from the city in the beginning. Beast, the giant Salamence, brought them down to the ground right outside the Pokemon Center.

Eva slid off gracefully once landed and turned to face J., staring as the boy tried to carefully make his way down, but ended up with a face full of cement and his feet above his head. Would a kid like him be able to survive in this world? Not really having time to babysit, she recalled her Beast. "I'll see you around little boy, try not to get yourself killed." And with that, she turned around and slowly began to walk away, flipping her beautiful golden locks behind her back.

Wiping the dirt away, Jomei's face contorted behind his gloved hand at the derision. Why does she have to keep calling me a little boy? He watched as she flung her hair over her shoulder, the glare from the sun reflected off of it, almost blinding him. His eyes couldn't help but wander down to her supple a**....ets. Yes. That's it. Assets.

Jomei wanted to say something to Eva as she left, but couldn't seem to find his words. A bit sad that the beauty was leaving him so soon, he walked in to the Pokemon center. A pretty Nurse Joy behind the counter flashed a smile in his direction as he entered. She didn't seem busy with any other trainers, so he moseyed on up to her, taking Pizza's pokeball from his belt and offering it over. "He got a little beaten up," He explained. "He needs healing."

"Don't worry, we'll fix him up right away." Said Joy, happily taking the fallen Cyndaquil's ball into the back room.

Jomei scanned the area carefully, hoping to see a few cute girls around. Noticing that he was still a little damp from 'swimming' earlier, he decided to find his way to the bathroom. Holding his shirt under the hand dryer, he took a good look at himself in the mirror. Do I really look so young? he thought disdainfully. "I'm fifteen now, not eleven. Jeeze..." He spoke aloud. He couldn't stay angry at the emerald eyed beauty though, and thought back to her as if she were a distant memory, even though had just seen her about five minutes previous. Upon finishing drying himself off the best he could, he made his way back to the lobby. Studying the vicinity once again, a lovely vending machine caught his eye. "I'll get a bottle of water for Pizza and something caffeinated for me.." he mumbled, rummaging through his pockets for some spare coins. Once he located enough, he proceeded to slide them through the slots and make his selection. First the water came down, and he put it away in his bag for when Pizza would be healed. Next, he selected a Root Beer for himself and waited for the drink to drop down. And he waited. And waited still. He could feel his eye twitch as the animosity welled up inside of him. "What the hell? Why isn't this thing giving me my soda!?" he questioned quietly, but with notable anger. Since staring aggressively at the machine wasn't working, he brought it upon himself to give the thing a little shake. Nothing. He shook it harder now, and banged the side of his fist up against it. The vending machine was still unresponsive. He let out an annoyed grunt and began to deliver some swift kicks. When the appliance still would not respond to his tactics, he firmly placed his hands on either side and brought his face in close. "Now listen you," he said, gritting his teeth. "Do you know what you are? You're a machine. And guess what. I'm a man." He tightened his grip. "I hate to break it to you, but man made machines. You dare defy your Creator!?" The boy was almost screaming now, shaking the apparatus more. He froze suddenly when he heard giggling from behind him. He turned his head slightly to see two cute girls walking by, obviously amused at his troubles with the vending machine. Now embarrassed, he could feel his cheeks turning a bit red. Once the womenly folk had left he decided to distribute one last blow, and was filled with happiness when the delightful sound of a can falling filled his ears. He celebrated with a quick 'up yours' gesture to the appliance and reached down to claim his victory prize. He was, of course, met with a spray of delicious Root Beer to the face, since the can had been damaged from all of the violence. Jomei spewed some incomprehensible curses as he held his hand in front of the berserk beverage. Arrgh! Why does everything in life hate me!? He screamed inside his head as he slipped in the mess caused by the aluminum can.

Kilik knelt down, his hands shaking. He caught a glimpse of a red light the moment before the door opened. What could have happened? The idea that Mitsu was normal suddenly flew out of his mind faster than a Pidgeot. He grit his teeth tightly and placed his hand on her shoulder. "M-Mitsu," he whimpered, holding back tears. Why was he crying? There was no need for him to cry. He knew she would be okay, right? They always came out of things like this! It was definitely a disheartening sight. He was battered and bruised, and she was passed out on the floor in front of him. How would they be able to last in Sinnoh in their conditions? Still choking back tears, Kilik scooped up the girl and held her close to him as he stood up. "Nurse Joy!" he called out.....

.....He stayed with her in the room, sitting in the chair beside her bed, much like she had done for him. Cable stood over his shoulder, his tail tittering about erratically, like the lightning that he personified. The Electabuzz placed his hand on his trainer's arm and patted him lightly. He could tell, quite easily, that Kilik was very upset about this. He had only been spending time with the other human girl for a short time, but Cable knew. Kilik's hand tensed on Mitsu's, and he held her hand in both of his. He lifted it up slightly and placed his forehead against it, gulping to keep tears back. "I'm here Mitsu," he whispered, "It's okay now, honest." He couldn't hold back anymore.

He cried.

Mitsu's breathing was shallow, but still apparent. Her chest heaved up and down as her breath drew in and out in slow motion. She was only vaguely aware that she was inside of a Pokemon Center, resting on one of thier many beds, and that there was a lingering warmth in one of her hands. It felt nice, nice enough to allow her to drift off into a soothing sleep.

Hours later, it was now just past lunch, the girl shifted in her bed. The warm feeling was still there and something told her it helped her sleep well. It had been a dreamless sleep, which was fine. She didn't dream often and after that short but horrifying incident she didn't really want to anymore.

Mitsu mentally sighed, she was awake now, but she didn't want to move or open her eyes just like last night when she had been in the Slateport Pokemon Center. Why the fire? What was I doing there? It can't be, tha-that never happened. . . Well, she might as well let Kilik know that she was okay. The purple haired girl opened her eyes, smiling rather sheepishly. "Sorry to worry you," she said quickly, "just remembered something unpleasant."
