The night was nearing it's end, and the white and black vixen rose to her paws. She stretched herself out, listening to the faint chirps of the birds who were waking at the same time. She was at the farthest outskirts of the tribe lands, still wondering what had pulled her out here. The famine was finally over and members were beginning to return. Why she wasn't at the Akatsuki Cliffs was an enigma to her. She sighed, a slight smile forming on her face. Her grey eyes were glazed over with a certain murky fog, indicating that she was blind. She closed them. When she reopened them, they were red, her black pupils shaped like pinwheels. She could see with these eyes, better than a normal fox even.
'Dear Modeity of the Dawn, I thank you...'
She whipped her tail before lurching forward off her hind paws, bounding towards the centre of the tribe lands. Her long, white mane trailed behind her, her silver bracelets jingling as she ran. As she closed the distance between the location of her waking and the Akatsuki Cliffs, she noticed the trees were dying. The amount of dead trees increased as she got closer and closer... This concerned her, and her pace quickened.
When she arrived at the Akatsuki Cliffs, however, she was shocked. The trees were all dead and the Sea of Sorrows was completely dried, the stench of dead, rotting fish rising from the depths of the giant crater she stood before. Her jaw dropped, eyes widening. "How could this happen?" she asked, looking around for someone to give her an answer.
She growled at herself. She was still acting like a member. She was Elder now, and she had to give that answer to her members with full confidence rather than asking them.
Konton raced up the cliffs to the Lookout of Dawn, staring right at the spot the dawn always rose. 'Hear me... Why have you cursed my tribe like this?' The sun formed a blood red stain at the horizon line as it rose ever so slowly... She knew exactly what a red sunrise meant.
"Akatsu..."
So this was his test of her, to see if she was fit to lead this tribe. He was not the Modeity of Dawn, but there was no need to question him. He was simply a cruel, malignant soul out to finish his work of ending this tribe... He had almost succeeded once, but Konton would not let that happen again. They had to leave these sacred lands, or perish.
The Migration was inevitable.

So much time had passed, and yet it was almost a blur. The tribe was quite scattered- both literally and figuratively- but there who had been apparently absent. For quite a while too. Ebony eyes scanned the desolate landscape from overhead, and a hard frown creased the guardian's face at the sheer amount of death that he saw. Whatever the cause, it was quite apparent that these lands were no longer habitable. Large leathery wings beat against the air a few times before the dragon made his decent down to the top of the cliffs. The landing was surprisingly light for such a large being, but it was from up here that Akakumo chose to stand watch over the lands for the time being. Who all will gather?------------------------------------- Dead. Everything was dead. Trees, plants, fish... Even what little was alive seemed to have already fled the area. This was no normal drought. It was far too sudden, far too harsh. What curse is it that follows this tribe? the hunter thought bitterly to himself as he slowly trudged his way towards the cliffs. Things would never be the same as they had once been; he knew this, but why is it that whenever things seemed to be getting even remotely better they always plummeted for the worse? Many seemed to have left the tribe for good, and quite frankly he couldn't blame them. Still, this tribe was his family, even with as distant as they had all become. He would stick with them until the end... Whatever that may be.
Uck, this stench is near unbearable... As Kekkon neared the cliffs that they called home, he spotted Konton up ahead. "Kekkon," he greeted once close enough, dipping his head in a polite bow to the Elder. "I am glad to see you here. Do you know what's going on?" Perhaps she had gained insight into the causes of their situation somehow. After all, elders were supposed to be able to communicate with the higher beings, right?

She heard the Tribe Guardian land behind her. It was a light landing, which is something that would always astonish her. She always expected the landing of winged foxes to be somewhat heavy, at least the landings of the Modidaevas and Tribe Guardians. How they were so light was a mystery to her. She looked over her shoulder, her Mangekyou eyes gazing into his black ones. "It's nice to know that at least you're still around, Akakumo," she said, a forced smile forming on her face. She couldn't truly smile at the moment for the tribe lands were dead... The lands she had confined herself for so long to try to keep everyone together. Now she was Elder and the tribe lands had perished.
Now another voice spoke, a familiar one. "Kekkon," she said, now fully turning around to face the two of them. "I'm glad to see you two as well," she replied with a flick of the long, bushy end of her tail. She sighed at Kekkon's next question. "I have spoken with the Modeity of the Dawn. She tells me this is the work of our good friend Akatsu. She chose me for Elder, but he detests her decision. So he has decided to test me and the rest of the tribe by driving us out of our lands, forcing us to find new ones," she explained, her gaze falling to her black paws. "I don't know what he has in store for us along the way, and neither does the Modeity of the Dawn, but we guess it will not be to our liking," she added bleakly.
This was going to be and arduous venture, but it was not optional. She didn't have the slightest clue where they were going to go. "The first thing we have to do is go find Akuma. Rumours are that she ran into her long lost sister, Ayashii. She's a 'Daeva, but a rather odd one at that. If Akuma and Ayashii decide to join us, they could guide us to new lands, for I know the two of them have done quite a lot of traveling." She paused, pressing her lips together into a thin line. "I take that back. We still have to do that, but we first have to round up the rest of the tribe, such as Seika, Danag, and Kutsuu. Have you two seen any of the members?"

The black and red fox snarled, her yellow eyes tinged with red. She slammed a paw into a dead tree, and unsuccessfully found no food. Sangre growled more before pushing her tired and thin body through the dead forest.
The lands were dead.
Not even enough life to insight her blood lust. Sangre's eyes slowly turned back to their normal yellow color as she ran. Her nose picked up faint traces of others and she shot off towards them.
If there was some of the tribe left, then maybe there was a chance. Sangre pushed her tired muscles as hard as she dared and approached the cliffs. With an burst of effort at smelling Konton's scent, she trotted to the group.
"K-kon...ton," she panted, her eyes dusting over the Tribe Guardian, Akakumo was it again? and a red and black male fox she didn't recongnize. "I'm still... here." She gave an apologetic smile and collapsed into a heap, breathing hard.

The guardian forced a small smile as well when the elder addressed him. "I have no intention of leaving this tribe any time soon," he said simply, falling silent once more. He spotted another fox running toward them, but didn't say anything and simply waited for her to come.
"Akatsu is behind this?" Kekkon replied in a half-sigh. "Hm, I suppose that explains a lot." He listened silently as Konton finished her explanation and then simply nodded afterward. "I understand. I haven't seen anyone else in a wh-" Just as the words were leaving his mouth the tri-colored vixen had reached the group. The hunter smiled faintly and nodded to her in greeting. "Good to see you, Sangre." She may not have recognized him, but he still remembered her from the few encounters they had previously.
Akakumo also nodded in greeting to the scout when she arrived, although his eyes soon returned to the elder. "Shall I seek out the others?" was all he asked, waiting patiently for a response. They'd need to gather who was left as soon as possible.

Konton smiled as the black, red, and white vixen came into view at the top of the cliff where the all were. "I was hoping you would still be around, Sangre," she stated. Her mood was lifted slightly, after all, she could consider Sangre as one of her best friends. She missed the vixen much more than she could imagine, and was quite glad that she was still around. She and Sangre shared a a few more... problems than they thought they did. Konton looked into Sangre's eyes. They were their typical amber colour, so Konton knew that Sangre was in control of herself, thankfully. The tribe was already in yet another state of shock, and Konton wondered how long Sangre could control herself, though Konton knew not to second-guess Sangre. She was a strong vixen, and could maintain herself if needed.
She turned her attention to Kekkon. "Yes, that malicious fox is trying to foil us from living once again," she replied in a bitter tone. What was wrong with staying peacefully away from the living once someone died? It was so... inconvenient for herself and everyone else in the tribe. Konton had only just begun this new job. She was scared; she didn't know what to do. The problem was that she couldn't show this anxiety she felt, for she had to be a stronger fox now, strong enough to lead this tribe and hopefully keep it together with the few members it had left. And if Akatsu wanted to test her, so be it. She would do everything in her power to succeed.
Her red eyes flicked to Akakumo. "I think it would be a lot faster if we all hunted our fellow members down. Akakumo, why don't you look for Kutsuu. He should be lurking around somewhere; I smelled him when I ran over here. Kekkon can go find Janen, Seika's son. I doubt that sadistic fox has him under paw right now. Speaking of which," she looked at Sangre, flicking her tail, "why don't you and I go look for that devil, shall we?" She asked. "And then we'll go look for Danag and anyone else we can find." It was quite sad that she couldn't even remember all the names of the foxes in the tribe. "Once we have found everyone, we will go look for Akuma and her sister, Ayashii. If they join us, that would help greatly," she spoke. 'The two daughters of Akatsu...' she thought to herself. 'I wonder what they will think once I tell them what happened here...'

Danag was hungry. But she knew any attempt of finding food within the tribelands would be pointless. She had to find the others, specifically the new Elder, Konton. Under normal circumstances, catching another fox's scent would have been easy for the hunter. But now, the smell of death and rotting plants overpowered everything else. The brown vixen raced through the decaying forest until she reached the crater that used to contain the Akatsuki Tribe's water. Her eyes travelled up the side of the cliff, and Danag knew they were there.

"Dead... Everything has died here." Spoke a rather small sized fox. Her black fur shimmered in the sunlight. " Time to find the elder." She said for she knew that the Elder must know of what has happened to their homelands. She began to sprint as fast as he legs could take her. She went past many dead trees in the once lively forest abd past the sea of sorrows. The smell of rotting dead fish had filled the air. " Where could the Elder be?" She asked herself as she looked up at the cliffs. She began to climb up until she had reached the top. She saw Elder Konton, Kekkon, the Tribal guardian, and Sangre. She was out of breath when she had reached the top. "Elder Konton! Everything has died in our homeland. What has become of our home?" She asked after she had regained breath.

Konton peered over the cliff, seeing the brown vixen below. 'Danag...' she said to herself, smiling. She was glad that vixen had returned as well. She also no longer needed to worry about finding her as well. "Danag," she called out from the top of the cliffs, gaze fixed on the fox.
She heard a frantic voice only moments later.
She turned her head, looking over her shoulder at the black and red vixen with white spots placed here and there about her pelage. Her red eyes locked with the other vixen's. Konton smiled, turning around fully. "There there, Veraya, calm yourself," she spoke in a comforting voice. She looked back at the deplorable landscape stretching out before her, letting out a heavy sigh. "It's only a test. We will be leaving this wretched land very soon, once we find all of our members." She knew this new vixen who had appeared in the tribe lands only days before. Now that Konton was Elder, she could accept Veraya to the tribe without consulting Frenka. Her gaze fell to the ground. She couldn't help but wonder where he had gone... But that was not the issue at hand.

"Understood," Akakumo replied, spreading out his wings and taking flight just as two others were arriving to the cliff-top. He would search for Kutsuu as instructed, but if he should happen to find any other foxes along the way then he would of course direct them to the the meeting place as well. In any case, it shouldn't be too difficult to find any of the remain tribe members from up above, given all of the dead trees didn't provide much room for hiding.
~~~~
Kekkon on the other hand stuck around for another moment or two, waiting to hear what the other two vixens had to say first. However, it didn't seem that anyone else had any new information to give either. "I'll be off then," he told Konton before turning and heading back down the cliff. He didn't quite remember which tribe member Janen was, but if he found anyone then he would gather them anyway. Besides, he could always ask the other modifox if he was unsure.
Veraya nodded as she calmed herself," I had not seen any others of the tribe, Elder. I hope they are out of harms way." She spoke as she walked over to Konton's side. She was happy to be accepted into the tribe after wandering around, alone.
Konton nodded at Akakumo and Kekkon as they left, then turned her attention back to Veraya. "I hope so too..." she said, looking down at her paws for a few moments before raising her gaze back to the other vixen. "Veraya, why don't you go with Danag and see who else you can gather, or see what you can find, if anything. We will certainly be needing it in the near future," she stated, her pinwheel pupils rotating ever so slowly. She knew that Veraya was a Carer, and as far as she knew there were no recent kits in the tribe. She didn't know how a mother could possibly raise them in these sorts of conditions. Either way, she needed everyone she had at the moment. "If you two don't find anything, make your way back here."
What the hell happened?
The black and white Modifox growled as he glowered down at a dead branch, knocking it to the side with a paw. It was one of his more aggravated days, and he was very aggravated with the fact that he could not even find a dead fox in the general area, not to mention he could not find a speck of food either, or water, and he was ravenous. His tail lashed from side to side. Where was everyone? Did they die while he was away? No... He knew he smelled that new Elder about. So where was she now?
He continued growling as questions flooded his mind, looking up at the sky occasionally to see if he could catch a glimpse of the guardian. No such luck for the time being.
Quite frankly, he was happy to be away from the tribe members for the time being. Hell, he did not want to be here, confined to these lands. He did not have a choice; he was born into the tribe like his other siblings... Wherever they were. Did they have the option to leave, for he had not seen a single sign of them nowadays. Well... There were no signs of life here to begin with.
Everything was dead, for one reason or the other. For what reason, he did not care. It did not concern him, or so he liked to believe.
Hearing Konton's voice call out her name confirmed Danag's suspiscions of her being on the cliff. She made her way up the mountain, but just as she got there she heard Konton's orders for her and the Carer. Danag simply nodded in compliance. She glanced at Veraya amd spoke a simple "Let's go," before retracing her steps back down to the bottom of the cliff. With the smell of death still over-powering all other scents, Danag was surprised when she realised another fox was nearby.
Danag saw the shape in the distance grow clearer as she neared it. No doubt it was another fox. Eventually she was able to recognized him easily enough, as Janen. She approached and called out to him. "Konton is waiting for all remaining tribe members at the top of the cliff," she informed him.
 Akatsuki Announcement Okay guys, this one announcement is important.In January, some of you may know of the fact that all the Tribes needed to make it to 15 posts by the end of the month or they would be disbanded. Akatsuki did not make that requirement. We were given extra time by Eva to make it to 10 posts in a week, but we did not make that requirement either. So now, the staff has been extremely genereous and given us extra time to make this new requirement:: 15 Posts by the End of February.We have to make this requirement, or Akatsuki will be disbanded.
Most of this is my fault due to the fact I have not been here to reply or make a decent announcement due to undisclosed reasons IRL. I apologize.
I hope we are able to meet this deadline and bring this tribe back to life. Don't let me down, guys, and I'll try not to do the same to you.
XoXo ~Shi Berry
Janen came to a halt in his casual saunter, turning around to face the two other vixens. He sighed, tail swaying back and forth. "What happened?" he asked, his voice toneless. "What are we going to do?" The male fox had a general idea of what was going to happen now, but he asked anyway. They would have to leave; they certainly could not stay here... He wondered if he could slip away in the process...
