Hi there!
I'm PK. I'm 20 and living in the Americas. Steampunk is still a bit new to me on the musical end but as far as fashion on imagination I've always been into that whole pseudo-Victorian future dystopia mindset. I'm more on the punk end of things though what with my stockings hanging about my knees and piecing everything together with safety pins. I'm a bit of a bookworm and love having all the facts. I get to know things that most others don't about what is going on about town and how it can be used for my own gain (yeah im a mercenary it happens.) Anyroad ... this is me. feel free to drop a line.

Salutations! I'm James, I'm 24 and live in a little seaside town in the South West of England. Completely new to Gaia, it was recommended to me by a delightful American(?) Steampunk I met yesterday. I hope to make some new friends here as I know no other Steampunks in real life. sad My first taste of the style came when as a child I got a copy of the game 'The Chaos Engine' for the Amiga. It would seem that was fatal as I've ben in love with all things Steampunk ever since. I love to build props and work on costumes, drawing too is a hobby of mine.
Looking forward to meeting you all, ~James
P.S. I'm new to this whole Gaia thing and would appreciate general guidance and anyone pointing out if I do something wrong!

Hello ! Sorry for not having introduced myself earlier ; I hadn't understand there was a forum of the guild ! I'm a 18 years old art student (living not far away from paris, that's why my english is horrible xp !) and I've always been facinated by all the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century (let's say from 1890 to 1930), and that's also where I discovered my interest for Steampunk ! Now that's all ^^ ! Nice to meet you !

Hallo, I am Kuri. Harvey is in the beaker. I'm sure you'll meet him later. I am 19 years of age, and I live in Pennsylvania.
My interest in Steampunk started after I graduated high school, during a great period of trying to find myself. I'm still not sure, as of yet, how I got lost, but the need to find myself hit me very hard. *giggles* I still haven't found her yet, tricky little scamp.
I found, of course, that I already shared a number of interests associated with Steampunk. A love of technology, of Victorian fashion, but mostly I think of this feeling that I didn't like the idea of our collective future. I wished that it could have been done a little bit differently.
Even the books I read struck me as Steampunk in hindsight. I learned the definition of Steampunk shortly after I read the book Whitechapel Gods by S.M. Peters. And I don't think he will remember, but I believe I pm'd Captain Amaranth and gave him an earful about it, "HUR HUR, SO I THINK THIS IS STEAMPUNK, WHATDYTHINK?"
That's my story, and not really what is important. You'll learn the important things sooner or later. wink

Why hallo there!
I am The Leaky Pen, also known as Penny or Pen or any variant thereof. I used to be the SilverMystic13 on Gaia but due to various unpleasantness that account is no longer being used. I have always been a fan of Steampunk but only from the sidelines and joining this guild is my way of attempting to get more deeply into the community/culture/what-have-you. I'm a writer of both poetry and prose, currently in the process of doing NaNoWriMo, and am taking a year off before college to work and travel, so I will be on Gaia very haphazardly since the sporadic classes I take and jobs I do keep me away from my house for days on end.
I live in New York City and also do film and photography but only as a hobby and only very very infrequently.
It is a pleasure to meet you all and I can't wait to dive on in. biggrin

Hello, all. My name is Stephasaurus Rex. I'm new to steampunk and haven't learned much yet, to be honest. Part of the reason I've joined this guild is to watch and learn, ascertain the behaviors and look. I've seen a few steampunk ladies in my area, and while it looks snazzy to me, I'm not very familiar with it yet.

I am Zenath...
Yeah... Like that.
Seriocity, though...
All through life, I've wondered why my tastes and the way I act fit better with people from various generations past, and in general was ridiculed and shunned for such. I've always had a natural curiosity, and a bit of a proper stance. My opinion on hats has always been that baseball caps are no where close to hats. I collect hats...
I was always seen as wierd- I worked hard to develop and maintain an image of being a gentleman, and it became my way of life- though some of the social nuances evaded me, such as choosing moments when NOT to be brutally honest.
I have persued various forms of liesure, from dabbling in art, and music, and writing, to more social aspects- which during high school went mostly unused. Shunned, remember?
I have all my life tried to deduce where my interests came from and where they fit in. My vests, my attitude... I've always been entranced by older technology, and how it works. My father got a pocketwatch when I was about twelve that showed the gears- I stared at it for hours, wanting to take it apart.
The other day, I was on gaia, desperately searching for something to do with my avi- and one of my friends recommended Steampunk. I didn't go to bed till 3 am. I just ate up all the info I could find on it...
18 years of wondering, searching... And I feel everything fits in with this genre of life. This is who I want to be.
oh yah...and I'm a sociology major in college.

Greetings, all. Thank you for accepting my join request. My full name is The Iron Magus, but that can be a bit awkward. I also go by Agent TIM, or just TIM if you prefer. I run the GIB, a Gaian Plot Guild. I look forward to learning more about steampunk and observing some inspiring avatars in the genre.

Hello I'm Zephyte, or Anthony, or Tony or Zephy, err... whatever ya wanna call me I s'pose. I've been interested in Steampunk for a few years now (I be 17 at the moment) but just recently started really being an "Active" Steampunk. Joining this guild and clan were another step in the process.
I thoroughly enjoy drawing and modification of my clothing. But my truest passion lies in the kitchens of the world. I am currently working towards a degree in Culinary Arts. So... Any others of the steamy persuasion in Ohio?

Hello everyone.
I thought I had been declined to this guild. The original subject said that I was but the message said that I had been accepted. Whatever the case may be I'm Bernadette, Lady Bern, LB, Bern, Bernsy and a lot more handles.
I'm 23, I have my Associates degree, I went to college for Culinary. I've been into Steampunk since I was 19 but really start to get into it at 21. I have a profound love for the fashion and want to make some steampunkish corsets. I joined because I really want to talk to someone about it who is actually interested. I have a lot more to say but already I'm rumbling.
