"Kinda. In order to alter the shape of the water you have to infuse your chakra into the molecules of the water. At which point they become part of you. This is what allows them to take shape as well as gives them the ability to do damage. Try it."

Seiko touched the water with his hand and water seemed to follow as he lifted his hand. His entire hand was encased with water. Infusing a small amount of chakra into each molecule of the water he was able to bend it and mold it as if it was his very own body.

"Try that first"

Hiro got up gain and tryed it. He charged the chakra into his legs and took a single step to the side. At the slightest movement he was slung off to the side like he had been shot out of a cannon. He slid himself to a pause by grabbing th ground below him. His stops where a little scratchy, but he had done it he had finaly got the jutsu down.

Haruko frowned, studying the way Seiko managed to place his chakra into the water. Placing his hand lightly on the surface of the water, Haruko tried to infuse his chakra into the water as Seiko had done. His brow furrowed further as he slowly lifted it into the air.

Water followed his hand only reluctantly. And when he tried to bend or mold it at all, it rebelled -- shifting back into its former shape quickly. He winced at the half-success. "Well...I get the concept, at least," he flashed a quick grin to Seiko. "Practice makes perfect?"

The young man smiled and nodded

"Practice doesn't make perfect... it makes better. No matter how good you are at something someone will always be better than you, so you can never truly be perfect at it, but nothing says that you can't be the best at it."

Seiko clenched his hand into a fist and the water around his hand scattered. He had plenty of chakra to be doing this all day so he didn't mind wasting a little. He dipped his hand in the water again and raised it slowly more water this time came up and as it rose drops of water seemed to fall up. He then open his hand and held his hand palm up. He formed the water into a ball and threw it at Haruko and smiled.

"Keep going, try forming the water into a body and altering it's shape"

Haruko -- unusually serious -- was still trying to figure out exactly how it was being done. Seiko's water bal took him square in the face. Sputtering, Haruko wiped his face incredulously. "Hey!" He shook his head ruefully, his blonde bangs hanging in wet strands down in front of his face. "That was low, sensei...so low. Now I'm going to have to work extra hard to get you back!"

He turned back to the water. Chakra control was something that he'd practiced with before. It was essential for both tree and water walking. So getting the chakra into his hand wasn't hard for him at all. Getting it from his hand into the water however...was another story altogether.

Deciding to use both hands, Haruko pushed as much chakra as he dared into his hands. From that large amount, he managed to push a substantial amount into the water. Lifting his hands out, he carefully tried to mold the water into a human body. It ended up looking more like a small child's stick figure. He tried in vain to make it dance. In the end, it jiggled a bit then collapsed back into its natural form. Because he had so much of it in his hands, Haruko found himself completely soaked through as the water crashed down upon him. He looked at Seiko with mock disgust. "You know...you and Aunt Reiko could have warned me to wear a swim suit or something..."

Seiko smiled and shook his head.

"You're the one that wanted to learn a water technique. You knew we'd be on the water. You should have put two and two together."

He was quick to learn however the forming of the body of a person was very difficult by itself but the hardest part had yet to come.

"Try that again, and this time, try and hold the body for as long as possible"

Haruko glanced aside at his sensei. "Yeah, yeah. Easy for you to say. You knew about it before hand. What's the saying? Hindsight is twenty-twenty?" He turned back to the water, dipping in just one hand this time. Even if it was harder to get the chakra into the water, there was less of a chance that he'd end up with half of a lake of water raining down onto his head. His face screwed up with focus as he slowly, slowly brought his hand out of the water. He gently molded the water, soothing it like a cranky baby. Finally, he had it just the way he wished.

He held it, looking to Seiko for approval. For the first minute or two, nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary. Then he began to grow tired. It was hard work to keep the water maintaining its shape. He held it for another minute or so before it began to leak. Haruko panicked, cursing and trying desperately to use chakra to "plug" it. This only served to thin out the chakra that he had holding other areas. Eventually, the whole thing just busted like a big water balloon, spraying water all over him and getting some on Seigo as well.

He had never taught this technique to anyone and it was funny remembering the same thing happening to him as a genin. He held back his urge to laugh and dispelled the technique that had the copies of himself around.

"Okay... we're going to do something that helped me."

Seiko took a few steps back onto the water and let the water simply rise to his hands. The water it self began to hover around him and he looked up Haruko.

"The only way I was able to master the water manipulation technique was when I used it in live action."

Seiko moved his hand and forced a burst of water to fly at Haruko. It blasted him on the shoulder. It wasn't a lethal hit but it was a hit to let him know that he wasn't joking.

"If you wish to stop the blows of water, counter it with your own water manipulation."

Standing still the water around them became a battle field and if Haruko wasn't careful he'd sleep with the fishes tonight.

Haruko let loose an undignified yelp. "Hey! The object is not to kill your students!" His eyes sparkled merrily as he stood on the bank. "Alright, then." He wiggled his eyebrows. "I assume you know, sir. This means war!" He edged forward until his feet were barely touching the water's surface. Through this medium, the sent his chakra pouring into its molecules. He pulled his arm back as far as it would go. "Hah!" He swept it forward, willing the water to fly at Seiko. A wave that reached about mid thigh on Seiko washed towards him. At best it would perhaps unbalance him. Haruko's face fell. "Well...that could have gone better."

As the water rushed forward it was stopped with a barrier of his own water he swirled it back and hurled it at Haruko. He wasn't going to let up. This was the only way that he was able to master the technique and if he thought was true then this would speed up the progress.

"Come on, use the water manipulation to absorb the water I throw at you and mix it with yours."

The blows of water that Seiko was throwing were beginning to take shape and form and if Haruko wasn't careful the water that was being hurled at him could easily turn into spikes
PostPosted: Tue May 22, 2007 6:55 pm

Haruko noticed how Seiko had created a shield with the water. He glanced swiftly down at the water puddling at his feet. With a mental tug of his chakra, he brought it straight up to absorb the majority of the blows. One of his sensei's little water missiles managed to get by and skim by his shoulder. Haruko was shocked to feel it actually scratch his skin. This guy wasn't playing around! His face white but more serious, Haruko decided to get back a little of his own. He raised fist-sized water balls from the body of water, sending them hurtling at Seiko. Their course wasn't quite as straight as he would have liked...but perhaps control would come with more time.

Seiko let the water attack strike him hoping that it might raise the confidence level of Haruko. The blow was kind of pathetic but he didn't say anything.

"Good, a solid wall. Maybe I pressed to hard with the blow. Lets try again."

This time a single ball of water was compressed into his hands. Seiko pushed down with as much force as he could to compress as much water into his single ball. When it was about the size of a baseball he threw it at Haruko to see if he could absorb the water with another wall.
PostPosted: Tue May 22, 2007 7:43 pm

Haruko wasn't blind. He saw the effor that Seiko put into condensing ball of water. So although, he was initially elated that his hit landed, Seiko's lack of reaction combined with the immediate counterattack served to bring him down to earth fairly quickly. Knowing how hard that ball of water was going to be, Haruko hastily erected a wall of water large enough to shield his entire body providing the damn thing didn't curve. Then, in a burst of foresight about his own dubious skill in such things, he erected another wall of water directly behind the first. Even if the ball managed to pierce the first wall, the odds of it getting through the second one as well were slim to none.

The water broke on the first barrier. Seiko nodded his hand and the water around him fell.

"Okay, lets see if you can create a body of water now."

He stood there anticipating him trying to form the shape of a body and hoped that this was enough practice to do it. While he wasn't able to create the best attack with the water didn't mean he didn't have enough control to make a body now. He had demonstrated that he was able to control the movements of the water and he was also able to prove that he could raise a good amount.

"Lets see it now."
