"Use your power to wipe them off." He shrugged.
(OOC: Plot Update: Practically nothing. mrgreen Pretty much, we know that the barriers between Heaven and Earth are gone. Same with Hell. The Sacred Realm is still seperate, because not many know about it.)

((Righto, and where are you guys?)) The girl punched the numbers into the cash register and took the money without looking up at Haucon. He grabbed a pair of chopsticks and sat down in the window, watching people on the street walk by. He was disappointed when five minutes later his food showed up on a tray, brought out by an older gentleman. I must of scared her too much... he thought to himself, as the man set the food at the table, giving Haucon the evil eye. And this must be her father... he thought noting the family resemblance and putting on his most innocent smile. The old man turned and muttered something in a foreign language, shaking his head and disappearing back into the kitchen. No sign of the girl at all. Haucon laughed again and began to dig in, his voracious appetite getting the better of him.

Vanessa though for a moment, before realizing that she had a dress that her mother had given her before she left. I'll be right back, I'm just going to run home. Any of you are welcome to come, if you want, but I will just be there a second." She said to the group. "Just follow me if you want to come." Vanessa stood up, and ran out of the cave. She directed a forcefield of air over her head, so she wouldn't get too wet from the rain. When she got to her house, she struggeled to get through the trees and bushes. once she was in the house, she climbed the dusty, creaky stairs to her bedroom. She searched through her drawers, looking for the dress her mother had given her. She finally found it at the bottom of one of the drawers, full of dust. She pointed her finger at the dress, and blew all the dust off. She pulled her clothes of, and put the new dress on, revealing the tattoos she had on her back. Then, she ran out of the house and back to the beach. When she returned to the deserted beach, she walked back into the cave to where the other three were. "Ta-Dah!" She said, with a little laugh. (( here's the new picture of Vanessa: just please excuse the tattoo on her arm. vanessa

(OOC: We are at a beach by a lake. It's next to a semi-destroyed town, but the beach is in good condition. There's a cave next to the beach, where we are currently at. Also, it's raining slightly.)
Dream stayed in the cave, and waited for her to return. He didn't know why she wanted to go get new clothes so suddenly... perhaps in honor of her mother? No matter. He'd just wait here for her.

Vanessa hoped now that because of her change of clothes, she'd feel like she had more of a chance of becoming like her mother. When she saw how her mother looked, and looked at her clothes, she realized that her mother didn't get to where she was by sitting around and not practicing. Vanessa thought that she needed to change completely, starting with the simplest things.

((many thanks)) Haucon finished the dumplings and tossed out the garbage, stretching leisurely on his way to the door. As he was about to leave he turned back and saw the girl poke her head around the corner to see him leave. He turned around and winked at her, happy to see the face go red again.
Once on the street he could feel the fine drizzle of rain, more like mist really. I guess it's back to the subway...he thought, assuming the relaxed walk of one who doesn't feel one way or another about rain. People in business suits passed him on either side with cell phones and pagers, briefcases, stinking of money. I need to get out of here for a bit. He turned up 4th street and headed down the stairs into the underworld of the city, smelling the familiar combination of oil, electric cables, stale urine, and mildew that was the subway system.
The subway was deserted except for a few homeless people who'd fought their way down the stairs with shopping carts full of stuff to save everything they owned from getting wet. Haucon shook his green and black hair spraying water on the already wet floor, as he approached the turnstile. There was no one around but the homeless people, and he didn't care, so he vaulted over it easily without paying.
Soon came the distinct rumble and customary screech of brakes as a train pulled up to the station, a hiss of air and the doors were open, beckoning Haucon inside. He stepped through the doors and they slid shut behind him.

Violet cringed slightly as Vanessa came back wearing her new dress. It seemed to reflect the little light that could get through the stormy clouds, meaning to Violet it appeared to be glowing. With a soft hiss she drew her wings around her once more, hiding her head. "Why does everything here have to be so bright?" she muttered, more to herself then anything. In hell it was darker, easier for her to see with her large, emerald eyes. On earth light gave her a headache. ' I wonder what the angels world would be like? I'd probably end up blind,' she thought, a frown appearing on her hidden face.

Vanessa frowned when she remembered how sensitive Violet's eyes are. "I'm... I'm sorry." She said to Violet, looking down to the ground, embarrased. She walked further into the cave, where the wasn't as much light. The light stopped reflecting off her dress, so that it was not as light as it was before. "How's that?" she asked, softly.

Dream wasn't too taken aback. He'd seen brighter. In fact, he could control light as well. Well, sort of... Light could be produced from healing magic, so he could alter it a bit to prodice light to some extent. But no matter. The point was, she was different. Violet seemed to be weak against the light. He smiled. It was a good thing she never decided to fight him before. His weapon was partially made of light, and wielded it when he used it. It was demon's bane, and lucky for most demons, he didn't try to kill any demon he saw. Unfortunately, it was almost worthless against angels and the like.
"Hello, again, Vanessa. I see you're trying to be like your mother."

Hesitantly Violet lifted her head. Her eyes were watering again, the tears a deep green. After a moment she nodded, "Yes, thats fine... Thankyou," she replied softly. As soon as she had spoke she shuddered, obviously not used to being so polite. Although the light didn't hurt it was still a little distracting so she slipped on her dark sunglasses again. Hearing Dreams comment she looked Vanessa over. "So thats what your mother looked like? I did wonder," she told her softly, the smirk dying a little to be replaced with an almost human smile.

She nodded, then said. "I thought that my change might as well start with the small things..." She went over to Dream. "Do I need to practice more before I can learn new things?" Vanessa asked.

"Well, in this case, new things are learned by knowing how to use your old ones better. As you perfect your current abilities, you'll get more and more adept with it, and learn how to use it better and better. It takes a very long time to become fully adept, but you seem to have a lot of skill already. I think it's about time to work on something unusual." He smiled. "We need to get your intelect going into full power. I'm going to ask you some logical reasoning which might seem pointless at first, but will eventually make sense."

"Bring it on..." Vanessa replied, with a smile. She watched the rippled in the area of green water, waiting for Dream's answer.

Violet listened in, wanting to hear what Dream asked. Due to her job she learned a great deal, and in human standards was vastly intelligent. Wondering if Vanessa would get the questions right she leaned back against the stone wall, letting her green eyes stare from the dark lenses of her glasses to the ceiling. It was so dark you couldn't see the top but something was rustling up there.

"Okay then." He smiled. "I'll test you."
"How could it be possible for you to be somewhere where it is noon in one spot, but just one mile away, it is midnight?"
